City, currently the gift that keeps on giving ?.

Would have been preferable for them to have a better result and take the away tie to extra time, a few days before we play them! They would be knackered! ?.

I'm just glad we are not in these play offs. The Everton game would have to have been re-rearranged and can you imagine if we'd won on Sunday?
I must admit I like to see Guardiola nervously spitting and throwing his bottle of water down though.

He spits all the time. I hate it.

I wanted them to win can’t stand RM.

12 Feb 2025 06:15:17
It was a case of not wanting either f them to win for me - dislike the way they are both run.

12 Feb 2025 08:29:34
Real were 5/ 2 to win last night with the bookies which is crazy odds with the way City are currently playing. Easy money.

Was a pretty entertaining game to watch though as a neutral.

Did u see Man City’s team and the bench
Plus the added Jan players … bloody hell it’s just double packed

We really need improved back ups.

12 Feb 2025 08:53:58
Cities bench looks that way as when they need a player they buy one.
There doesn't seem to be any ffp affecting their spending.
Time will tell though and someone will finally have the balls to charge them for cheating the system.
I would rather be where we are now with no charges than sitting in cities seat.

@redrebel It just goes to prove that throwing money at a problem doesn't make it go away. They can spend as much as they want and have as many overpriced players on the bench as they want but it hasn't stopped them crumbling like a cheap suit at the slightest sign of pressure.

12 Feb 2025 09:35:14
Exactly, ShipleyKopite. City spent all that money (170m) in the Jan. window and they are still the dumpster fire they were before they made these signings with Pep still (and literally) spitting whatever he perennially has in his mouth out (I agree, HOPE9) like he was doing prior, as well.

They can have all those players and all that YET pretty sure they would gladly give all that up to be in the position they are in with a more harmonious squad going legitimately for the league title. All that money and still a wretched squad with a deluded manager with piss-poor performances. I know who I'd rather be.

12 Feb 2025 09:35:17
I think it’s a bit early to start assessing and writing off City’s signings with it being less than a month especially as we are still very much into month 6 of Chiesa’s pre season and his 2nd coming.

Saying that on this seasons evidence we have a far superior side/ squad to them and they had to do business where as ours was never a need but more opportunity if presented.

Am I living in my own world here? I thought City's lineup looked terrible. 5 centre backs squashed into the starting 11, two wingers who can't score a goal between them, Bernardo and KDB past their sell-by-date and a bench full of players who are all clones of each other.

I've felt this way for a while, I really don't think City's team is intimidating at all and the only reason they've still cleaned up the trophies recently is down to how bad the competition has been. It's a far cry from they days they used to turn up with David Silva, Aguero, Sane and Mahrez as well.

12 Feb 2025 10:50:48
Did you really just say that redrebel? Their first 11 can barely win a game and you’re jealous of their bench?

12 Feb 2025 11:30:53
Let's not get carried away.
They are having a bad season but they won the last four PL titles before that and they still have the same manager.

12 Feb 2025 12:59:59
Beckers pecker, it's the way these days. We could be happy with where we are even tho, things aren't perfect BUT some would rather look at a dumpster fire of a team like City this season and envy them cos they spend money (which they imperatively needed) this past window and we didn't (something we don't need imperatively) . Sad.

As for City, nobody is writing them off. Why? They have done a bang up job of doing that on their own and they have Pep to thanks for that, IMO. Im not even saying they should automatically start winning games.

The thing is that he is employing the same tactics that this team of players are no longer able to execute. Their midfield has NO legs, can't press (cos they have no legs) and can't defend cos he keeps playing this high line regardless of the defensive players he has. That's on him and nobody else.
