Just for fun. What sport away from football ( and women's beach volleyball) that you can't live without or have a real love of?

{Ed025's Note - Golf for me John..

Agree3 Disagree5

12 Apr 2025 15:02:10
Only other sport or sportsman i get worked up for is O'Sullivan in the snooker. I'll lose interest when he retires though, bit like i was with Agassi in the tennis.

12 Apr 2025 15:08:17
All my mates play ed25, never really had time as kids football coaching when I was younger and work commitments now days it’s F1.

{Ed025's Note - too noisy for me John..

12 Apr 2025 15:18:25
Tennis for me, I love it. And I know what you mean FM, the greats of tennis are pretty much gone.

Boxing as well but same as above, it's not the same now. I loved the Tyson days but it's not the same now.

12 Apr 2025 15:22:22
Strangely enough I play basketball on a regular basis but not football lol.

12 Apr 2025 15:29:21
Hurling, Rugby and Boxing.

12 Apr 2025 15:34:12
Ice hockey for me sorts the men out front the boys drop the gloves then sort it out not like pampered footballers tear thoer socks and they go off injured.

12 Apr 2025 15:34:59
Formula 1 for me, mates n me used to but cheap caravans for about 1k. used to drive them the races . make a week of it n then sell it back to them for 5 ton . if had the money I'd do the full season.

12 Apr 2025 16:19:10
Golf, Masters weekend so having a ball.

12 Apr 2025 16:28:01
Been a big la kings fan in NHL since my first visit back in 2001. Time difference means I can't watch it regularly but I always try to catch play off games.

12 Apr 2025 16:37:08
Cricket.

12 Apr 2025 16:41:33
Ice hockey for me. Played juniors 2003-2007. Quit for 5 years and came back to it in 2012, still playing today and dreading retiring! But at 34 with child #2 on the way it’ll probably be soon! Made life long friends from the game, as well as incorporating it into work. Massive NHL (Colorado Avalanche) fan too. Incredible sport and community.

12 Apr 2025 16:46:45
Rugby for me.

12 Apr 2025 16:49:59
Rugby league.

12 Apr 2025 16:51:16
Pool, black ball rules and carp fishing.

12 Apr 2025 17:08:11
Retired Cricket fan to football.

12 Apr 2025 17:17:14
Great question John.

Rugby union for me (UFC in third)

12 Apr 2025 17:21:09
Hurling and boxing for me.

12 Apr 2025 17:36:34
Boxing ? But my youngest has jumped aboard the Darts train of late so I enjoy chucking a few arrows with him not going to lie.

12 Apr 2025 17:51:09
Would never have guessed ice hockey or hurling.

12 Apr 2025 18:11:49
Darts, Golf, Tennis, Cycling for me. Throw a bit of archery in for luck.

12 Apr 2025 18:23:34
Gaelic football. When played well.

12 Apr 2025 18:32:29
Rugby Union. NBA but the golden years are long gone. Aussie Rules and Gaelic Football (both crazy sports played by people who don’t appear to have a pain threshold) and Roger Federer.

Oh, and the Tour de France. It’s great to see what the human body can endure when you pump it full of drugs!

12 Apr 2025 20:02:06
NFL for me, Chicago Bears fan and they are consistently crap.

{Ed007's Note - Has nobody got the minerals to admit watching wrestling then? ??

12 Apr 2025 20:03:10
Toad in the Hole for me :)

12 Apr 2025 20:05:33
Taekwondo ? ??.

12 Apr 2025 20:15:00
Golf has to be up there but I'd struggle to pick one, F1, darts and then the likes of athletics would all be missed. Tour de France is a shout too St as it's mad what they put their bodies through.

12 Apr 2025 20:23:16
MMA for me, one of the best choice I made aswell for working out was taking up kickboxing and Ju Jitsu absolute blast and the work out you get is insane recommend it to anyone.

12 Apr 2025 20:47:09
Wrestling ??.

{Ed007's Note - ???

12 Apr 2025 21:06:58
MMA is the only other sport I watch regularly, the missus and I have a great laugh watching it because we don't take it too seriously.

I don't really consider it a sport, but I'm as big a wrestling fan now as I was as a kid. It's a violent soap opera, What's not to love?!?

{Ed007's Note - That's what I say - it's the best soap opera on TV! I'm 51 next month and I know it's "fake" & scripted etc but it just brings out that big kid in me as Ed001 will testify to.
About 12 years ago Tris very kindly bought tickets for a WWE event in Birmingham for me & my wife and him & his daughter with a fancy dinner etc included, anyways we were sitting there and me and Tris are chatting between matches and when Randy Orton's music hit I went crazy and Tris $hat himself and jumped out his skin at the same time ?

12 Apr 2025 21:12:11
Hurling and gaelic football, proper warriors!

12 Apr 2025 21:28:00
American football followed the l. a rams. From85
Horns up folks.

12 Apr 2025 21:34:56
Ice hockey. As someone mentioned earlier, it is great to watch because the players give their all, and there's far less advantage in cheating compared to football.

12 Apr 2025 21:42:53
Galway were in the Gaelic footy final a few years back and I was in Galway on the day of the final. Didn’t see much of the game but damn they know how to watch sport over there!

12 Apr 2025 21:43:39
Boxing a little bit of horse racing for me loved snooker in the 80s/ 90s totally lost interest now though. Don’t mind the ashes love the rider cup. But I can sit and watch most sports. Darts is normally good watch at Christmas and on a Thursday day night. Super Bowl is a great spectacle but it’s just to late at night for me. Wrestling never my cup of tea am to much of a grump for that crap.

12 Apr 2025 21:37:35
We used to love the wrestling when stone cold Steve Austin was about with the rock and triple H.

12 Apr 2025 21:39:51
NHL (Montreal Canadiens), NBA, from living in the US and Canada, in the 80s/ 90s, as well as boxing, growing up in the Golden Age of Hagler, Chavez, Holmes, Tyson, Lewis, etc.

12 Apr 2025 21:59:08
Same here TB2.

Been a Bears fan since the legendary 85 team and Walter “Sweetness” Payton.

They’ve recruited well in free agency, things are happening in Chi town. Ben Johnson is going to be a great head coach and Caleb now has an offensive line.

BEAR DOWN ??.

12 Apr 2025 22:36:42
To watch live Rugby League and horse racing. To play, golf. Apart from that streaming LFCs games.

13 Apr 2025 00:21:20
Was the fridge Chicago bears?

13 Apr 2025 00:53:48
From my American years (there was not much football to watch), the Boston Celtics (Larry Bird), Dallas Cowboys (Roger Staubach), New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and New York Mets. And of course, all that boxing going on at the time. Once I left America, football reclaimed its rightful place.

13 Apr 2025 01:26:00
Aussie Rules and MMA.

13 Apr 2025 01:49:40
Yes William Perry played for the Bears JK.

13 Apr 2025 08:33:36
Hurling, Garlic Football, Rugby Union and Golf in that order. For those who don't know what hurling is watch an all Ireland final on the 21st of July at 14:30 GMT and tell me its not one of the greatest and fastest sports in the world! Oh yeah and by the way it's played by amateur's but don't let that fool you these players are the most skilled and ferocious men you could ever come across proper men's men.

13 Apr 2025 09:07:07
Moto GP for me.

13 Apr 2025 09:23:41
Msg sent too early! Was going to say had some great wknds at Blackpool (norbreck castle) playing golden 8 ball rules. Yarmouth (world rules)

13 Apr 2025 09:24:58
Snooker and pool for me - watching the likes of Selby, O'Sullivan, Chris Melling etc is just amazing.

13 Apr 2025 09:41:35
Peg leg, I prefer international rules (pool) although I don’t really play much anymore.

13 Apr 2025 10:02:21
Good wide variety of sports there and v good question+debate. obviously plenty of sports fanatics on here. Even though I never could get 'into it', the game of hurling played by the best teams/ players is an absolute sensational game, outrageous skill+ bravery.
Use should make a point of watching all ireland semi finals r final as I know lot of v knowledgeable sports people on here would appreciate it.

13 Apr 2025 10:23:55
Carp finishing, especially in France.

13 Apr 2025 11:36:59
Wrestling. Absolutely epic
Kids love it too so it’s a good family thing
Snooker if it’s Ronnie. Everyone else annoys me

Can’t watch golf but I play a bit myself
Just started to get into watching 8 ball pool.
