Ever since Joel Matip left us. The centre back partnership between Konate and Virgil van dirk lacks a good substitute. Quansah, Gomez and Endo have not really gave me the Matip vibe. I wonder if we are considering bringing in a CB with such elegance.

It's a tricky one. Finding another Matip is hard as players that good, in the main, tend to want to play all the time. The answer for me would be younger players. I can see that we are apparently in for the 20yo Moroccan defender who has high prospects. I would also be interested in Hato. Plus keeping Gomez, maybe. Quansah to leave. We could end up with Hato and the Moroccan chap for not much more than we raise from Quansah.
I hope that Konate will re-sign a new contract.

I would agree with Zeddicus that I can see us going with a young CB like Ait Boudlal now to let Quansah get his move and then ask our buddy Heitinga to convince Hato to stick around at Ajax for one more season and the move to us to replace Robbo and/ or Gomez.
Even with those two, I still think we'd need to find a Virgil successor.

Leftsided like Hato or Inacio. I have faith Konate will stay but VVD has 2 years or so.

FPF and KC, I would love us to buy Hato and loan him back to Ajax for the season so he keeps playing. I see him as the VVD heir.

Seen a lot of Hato. He’s a definite must-buy. Probably next year. I can see Isak coming then as well.
