I see Hato's name raised again on X, I think he would be an excellent upgrade on Tsimikas?

I think Robbo will go, but it looks like Tsimikas really likes it here and wants to stay.

Let's see what happens over the next few days and months, but I agree, I'd love a way to find a place in the squad for Hato as I think he will be fantastic, either as LB option but more importantly as a future CB.

Really excited to see how this pans out.

Hato would be for CB Kerkez will be the LB - We have backup in either KS or AR we also still have JG who can play there and lastly a number of kids looking for a chance at LB also.

I'd be ecstatic if we got Hato.

Before anyone jumps down my throat again btw, I don't hate Guehi, I've just not been massively impressed. I'll give anyone a chance who puts that red shirt on.

2Shoes, we could end up with both. If Robbo and Tsimikas go, Hato could be on the cards. I think Guehi takes Quansah's role in the squad as a rotation/ injury option alongside Gomez.

I can see it making sense to have HG or U21 players where possible as rotation so that we can go into the new season with as strong and flexible a squad as possible.

{Ed025's Note - but will Guehi be content just being a squad player Zed?, he is currently part of the England squad and more than likely a move to Liverpool would scupper that i imagine if hes not first choice, personally im not a fan of his but i know a lot really rate him mate..

24 Jun 2025 13:40:29
Yeah, Ed025, that's the bit that has confused me.

I figured a lot of the clickbait sites would die down as most linked him as the Quansah deal broke.

However, they're persisting and some even going to the extent of saying he has agreed terms and only wants Liverpool.

I actually really like him when I've watched him play - tidy, composed and generally unflappable. Slight concern about his height but I'd love to see how he does in our team.

But, I can't see what's in it for him, unless he is looking longer term to Konate going or VVD slowing down (or both) .

24 Jun 2025 13:50:43
Lad's and Ed025 I really don't rate Guehi either.

{Ed025's Note - as a back up i think he would be fine Barry, but not a starter for me mate what iv seen of him..

24 Jun 2025 14:25:59
When City were Champions people like Alvarez, Grealish, Phillips and Mahrez were willing to move there not knowing if they'd be first 11 every week. Its the same with us at the moment, if you want to be at the best you have to take a chance and back yourself.

24 Jun 2025 14:38:12
Agree as a back up but as a few of you and Ed has said, are we going to sign him as a back up and is that what he'd want? It's more than what we're spending on Frimpong or Kerkez who will likely be starting. why 45/ 50 mil on someone for the bench!?

I don't get it!

24 Jun 2025 14:58:25
Think we'd be paying 45m for someone with a year left because he's highly rated, as shown by Palace turning down 75m for him last year. that's the main reason i think we'll be all over this because of the price.

24 Jun 2025 15:02:05
Outside of Arsenals and City's CB's the highest rated in a lot of stat sites seem to be Milenkovic from Forest, Van de Ven from Spurs, van Hecke from Brighton and then Guehi.

24 Jun 2025 14:45:47
Totally agree Ed025 he's definitely not 1st choice.

24 Jun 2025 16:03:35
When a player like Quansah leaves it isn't necessary to recruit a Quansah replacement.
We want someone to come in and play or at least give Slot something to think about. If he was getting on and on a free or a young lad making his way, then fair enough. But he's not.
I'm not saying we'll buy him but if we do then I wouldn't be surprised if he replaced Konate. I don't think he comes just to play FA and League Cup games.
I don't know much about him but Konate is not indispensable.

24 Jun 2025 16:15:39
Yeh but the difference with them 3 and Guehi Mcgoveb is about £35-40m because of their contract situation.

24 Jun 2025 19:04:23
Ed25 and Bazza what are his flaws in your opinion? . just interested to know.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think hes great in the air SG but that is not because he is smaller than the average CB its about timing the jump, he is also slow to react especially against quicker forwards and although he can read the game his positional sense sometimes lets him down, im not saying he is terrible though in fact hes decent mate...just not top quality for me..
