So gravenberch is our only defensive midfielder of real quality, I like endo but realistically he isn't a league winning difference and there is huge pressure for grav to stay fit in form and as fabihno found out form can be effected by having a new born. I have reservations about our midfield as it is not as strong as chelsea, arsenal, Newcastle, man united if they get baleba, and brighton if they keep baleba.

I suspect Slot would like to do something in midfield too but we have too much to do at the moment.
If Bajcetic has no future and Endo cannot be trusted to start games, I would take a look at Djaoui Cisse at Rennes before Brighton get him to replace Baleba. He has a similar passing range to Wharton but is more mobile.

We seen against crystal palace that that midfield without gravenberch was getting passed through out pressed and dominated at times a lot of it was to do with adam wharton who oozes class. But what i am saying is what if we don't have gravenberch? Big drop!

So you’re saying that our mid without Grav isn’t as good as all those other teams including Brighton and Manu with Baleba.
So what if Baleba was injured like Grav would be in your scenario? You’ve literally just said they wouldn’t be as strong if they had a player injured.
I’d recommend thinking first before you post again as you’re making yourself look like a fool.
Ps take out Rice, Caicedo, Rodri, Fernandes and Guimarães from those teams if injured and who has the better midfield then? I’d fancy our chances!

Can’t see us spending money on that this year, and it is true that we are very light in that area (none of Mac, Szoboslai or Jones are particularly good there and Endo really is looking his age unfortunately) we looked very weak in the middle against Palace (Jones and Szoboszkai is not a good pairing), I’d like to think Bajcetic can provide a solution to cover Gravenberch as he can at least tackle, intercept, pass and is good on the ball. His stats for regaining possession were very decent last year in Spain.

So why was Endo being hailed as a brilliant closer in critical games last season then? Was he not making a league winning difference in those games last season, according to your own logic?
As @Rome said, clearly we will never win the league with this midfield, which is actually better (with Wirtz) than the midfield that won it last season.

I don't usually call out posters but give it a rest Hailstones. In just a few days, you've already said we are light in defence, midfield, and attack. Basically the entire team is light for you despite us buying a new rb, lb, cam, and st. Heck, you even posted twice that we're light at RB and should look into getting one more in. We have done a lot of business this summer and we're still looking to do more before the window closes but it's still not enough for you.

It is up to the coaches to manage Gravenberch’s playing time more effectively this season. No need for a replacement, or a second DM.
He looked exhausted at the business end of the season, just when you need a player like him the most. We need to stop flogging him like an old nag, he doesn’t need to play 90 minutes of all our games.

Yes Endo coming on for a few minutes a game when we were already winning was clearly the reason we still went on to win those games.
260 mins he played which is 7% of Premier minutes over a season and almost half of those minutes came after we won the league.
Someone needs to actually watch games instead of highlights on YouTube.

It's fairly obvious our midfield for the most part will be 2 deep + Wirtz. So grav won't necessarily be the deepest midfielder at any given time, and for those 2 positions we have grav, Mac, szobs, Elliott, Nyoni and Endo. That's not weak, that is stacked.

OK first of all endo is a closer what if he has to be the starter does he have same impact? And he has been playing in defence so rite now he is a utility player basically 4th choice in each position. People are forgetting gravenberch went missing for 3 months cos he is young and not played the amount of games in the toughest league. I am happy with what we have done brilliant! But last season our midfield was the weak area of our team and I think other teams have strengthened in that area whilst we haven't.

Hailstones. I’d recommend sending your CV to Slot as I don’t think he has considered any of the points you’ve raised. God, if only he’d won the PL in his first season heh.
Mid wasn’t our weakest area. A creative mid, RB, LB and striker were our problem areas not a collective area.
Wirtz, Frimpong, Kerkez and Ekitike (and possibly Isak) have come in to solve those problems.
Will they solve them? Only time will tell.

Hailstones, if Endo has to be the starter then so be it. It's not like he is some kind of scrub that can't pass the ball now, is he? We had him starting when we went for the title in 23/ 24 with him outplaying Rodri, Rice and dominating KDB to the point that he got subbed off and Pep had to cuddle him and wipe off his tears. If it has to be that then, we go with it.
Im not saying Endo is this or that. Just debunking your own statement of him not being league-winning worthy or whatever it is you said. You can't have all 25 man squad as "league-winning worthy". That's not how you win titles as any league-winning manager will tell you BUT hey, you know better.
In the end mate, Im over it. You can always apply for the LFC job, as @1jj said. Clearly, the manager skunked his way to dominating the league last season w/ o having the slightest idea of what he was doing.
