I thought the bench looks strong. Maybe missing a backup striker but last season that would’ve been Nunez who nobody rated anyway.
No Macca or Frimpong in the squad tonight too so the bench will be even stronger when they’re back.

Chiesa who scored the winner last week. Elliot who got a huge winner against PSG. And Rio who has just scored an absolute better for us to win tonight.

I suspect a lot of clubs wish they could bring on those 3 Dean, Klopp regularly used Harvey, Rio must now be considered a real prospect and Chiesa looks stronger and better this term. There is a chance 2 of them won’t be Liverpool players next week, but all three were involved in the winning goal.

Well that was a woeful performance tonight and it made us look like the team with 10 men. Kerkez, Konate, Wirtz, Salah, Gapko, Alison all way off it. Chiesa couldn’t get into the tempo. Next week could be a battering if we don’t massively step up our performance.

Don’t know if you watched the coverage after the match and Slots interview IB, but Slot said LFC couldn’t play because all NU was to get set pieces and lump the ball into the box. Playing technically better teams who want to get the ball down and pass suits us better. Of course you have to win against the Wimbledons as well, and we did, that’s great to see, I wouldn’t be at all concerned about the Arsenal game, LFC laid down a marker tonight, we can win ugly.

I've seen nothing in Kerkez so far. Early days, young player etc etc. But how he gets in ahead of Robbo or even Tsimikas I don't know. He looks slow, goes to ground too easy, overly aggressive and I still can't figure out what exactly he was trying to do to prevent Guimares headed goal.
