Question for Eds 25 and locals.

We've got tickets for the foo fighters next June at anfield, where to go for drinkypoos beforehand, probably city centre, beer garden, food and taxi info would be appreciated.
4 60 odd yrs old and 3 late 30,s.

{Ed025's Note - i would avoid the Matthew St area IDLLK its mainly young ones and it will be chocca mate, Great Charlotte St is good for us older ones plenty of bars but a lack of beer gardens though there are a few places to eat just around the corner, its not far from Lime St station and you can get Taxis from either the station or the Adelphi hotel and there is a rank in Great Charlotte st as well,
Einstein Bier Haus in fleet street is good as well and has eating and a roof top bar where you can smoke if thats your thing, loads of bars around concert square which is where that is, others may have different suggestions and im sure you will have a great time wherever you go....enjoy..

Mathew street isn’t too bad I don’t mind Charlotte street. Concert square I also like Seel street. But your probably better starting off up hope street ways there are a good few bars with tables outside up there you can have pint in the world famous philharmonic pub, then walk down hardman street few places for a bevy there take a right onto leece street couple more bars at the bottom of leece street if your still standing and you got the time your by Charlotte street or go over to by the vines there’s loads of bars around an taxi ranks.

Nice band, the Foo Fighters. My wife loves them. Hope you have a great time, man.

Avoid concert square . not really suitable for the age group you're in . For meals, id go for Castle street, Hope street, Bold street, all good restaurants there . Drinking wise Matthew street is ok if you've not been bfr, plenty of bars and Charlotte street .

but sure others on here will have more info for you . Cost around a £10 odd for a cab from town to Anfield.

The Docks are always worth a try, as well.
