Not sure what makes me happier Slot getting sacked or Two-tier Keir resigning.
Anyway it's made for a good summer.

22 Jun 2026 15:47:59
Couldn't agree more.

22 Jun 2026 16:20:55
Next guy taking over isn't much better.

PM not Iraola.

Have you forgotten what Burnham did regarding Hillsborough? It's also worth asking the people of Greater Manchester whether they believe he's fit for the job.

I'm generally not a fan of politicians, but from what I've seen, Burnham appears to have principles, shows a willingness to stand his ground, and seems to approach politics with genuinely good intentions.
Sorry I stumbled on a politic rumours page whilst looking for a football one.

22 Jun 2026 16:37:09
Love him or hate him, we wouldn't have the 2nd Hillsborough Inquiry if it weren't for Andy Burnham.

22 Jun 2026 16:59:27
He will certainly be playing down the left wing.

22 Jun 2026 17:40:10
Centre forward and left wing, Rome, but certainly can't play right wing, mate. ? Knobs the lot of them. ?

22 Jun 2026 17:38:58
I don't buy into this whole "two-tier" stuff, but his time was up and he probably should have gone a couple of months ago.

I really don't care too much who gets in, as long as it's not that ratty fella who takes Russian money.

I swear people are gaslighting me about the phenomenonal job Burnham has done for Manchester. I've seen the city deteriorate in real-time since he became Mayor.

Anti-social, intimidating behaviour and crime on open display in the city centre, drug-dealers openly soliciting on the streets, tell the police they don't care, homelessness and addicts everywhere, dirtiness and garbage everywhere, roads closed to make the city "greener" to make the city uncommutable meanwhile a bus passes every 5 minutes on an otherwise empty street, public transport still shocking, ridiculous skyscrapers that have ruined the city's skyline with lots of empty apartments because no one can afford them or wants to live in the city centre but hey, at least they're flash.

I used to commute into Manchester everyday but it became such a horrible experience, both travelling in and my time spent there, that I quit my job over it. I don't see how this guy is the answer to the country's problems. If anything, he will exacerbate them.

22 Jun 2026 18:05:06
I think you're right Babbity.
It's easy to be popular when you're a mayor with a big budget but Manchester has deteriorated on his watch.

I'm not a fan, but then I'm not a fan of politicians in general. Not one of them fit to govern.

22 Jun 2026 18:10:22
Not sure what anyone else coming in is going to do different to be honest. I would have preferred any sort of stability all things considered.
I wouldn't worry one way or the other about people travelling in political circles to be honest. Just a load of born millionaires all feathering their own nest.

22 Jun 2026 18:19:26
If Burnham becomes PM . it's out of the frying pan into the fire!

22 Jun 2026 18:52:13
HSF, are you for real? No, not Russian money, more likely shekels though

22 Jun 2026 18:56:02
It really doesn't matter who PM is Burnham or Farage, the country has no money (no economic growth) and defence spending will hugely increase to meet NATO pledge and the choices are increasing tax, cutting spending (Welfare), inceasing borrowing and its likely to be all three.
But I'm really looking forward to how Iraola is going to get us going next season.

22 Jun 2026 19:13:36
I had a meeting with Burnham a couple of years ago. He's quite pleasant and relatable one on one. definitely one of the in it for the right reasons types. And trust me there's few of them types in politics. I've met dozens over the years through the work that I do and he's probably second on my list of likeable MPs I've met.

He's going to have to undo a lot of the damage that's been done since thatcher though and he's not got a lot of time to do it.

22 Jun 2026 20:10:47
Not a fan of Burnham or the city of Manchester.

22 Jun 2026 20:27:09
Burnham brings nothing but more tax to the working man to fund the benefit bill watch the tax hikes come thick and fast

22 Jun 2026 20:39:53
Takes breaks are for the wealthy only. If you think any party that starts with Re will give you any more money at the end of the month then you must be very gullible. Unless you are a foreign billionaire arriving on a very big boat, then they'll roll the red carpet and give you whatever is left of our public wealth

23 Jun 2026 08:13:13
Here we go again! I thought this was a football page? Why don't you start a politics page. And be keen to hear about all that crap on it

{Ed033's Note - We did have a politics page, but hardly anyone posted on it.

23 Jun 2026 13:23:17
Far foreign land, Burnham is like Starmer, a Fabian, but also looks after his wife with a £4 mill job of EVs, all sharks the lot of them, don't be fooled by the colour of their tie they wear
