Robbie Fowler for me - the best natural finisher I've seen at the club (I've been following since the early 80's so includes Rush).
With either foot, or his head, from any distance and every type of finish. Truly a God.
With better luck with injuries and in a stronger Liverpool era, I truly believe he'd hold every club scoring record.

Shankly ghost ... I was at that game when Jim Beglin done his injury, I had a perfect view of it. If that happened in today's game Gary Stevens would have been banned for 12 months at least.

John Barnes was a generational talent, his career wasn't cut short, but its trajectory was severely affected. He would have gone on to be one of the greatest if it wasn't for injury. Probably my favourite player to go back and watch highlight reels of.

Some may disagree, but I maintain that Daniel Agger had all the attributes (tall, strong, aerial prowess, excellent read of the game, good passing, ferocious shot) to have been one of Liverpool's best-ever centre backs.
However, it transpired that his back was made of glass.

Agger, Aurelio and Jones for me - 3 cracking players.
If Rob Jones had no injuries he'd have been talked about at rb like Ashley Cole is at lb, he was seriously that good.
Aurelio, as a poster said above, we honestly never got to see his full potential.
Agger was a great cb and proper loved the club too. Could have been absolute elite but the injuries just persisted.

Frode, in his entire career pre-2010 Gerrard missed 14 games in 12 seasons.
In 2010/11 season alone he missed 15 games. In 2011/12 season alone he missed 18 games. He was subsequently turned into a sitting midfielder by Brendan Rodgers because the injuries took his pace and power away from him, which was a huge part of his game going forward. Despite that change to his game he still had two separate hamstring injuries in his remaining 3 seasons at the club missing another 11 games.
So yeah, 2010 onwards, Gerrard was broken relative to what he once was. Gerrard 2004-2009 was probably the best attacking midfielder in the world, but post 2010 he was increasingly struggling, until he eventually ended up just sat in front of the defence pinging passes.
It says a lot about Gerrard's quality that he was able to carry on operating close to an elite level whilst his body was failing him. He was still an elite technical footballer and in 13/14 he got 14 goals and 14 assists pretty much just from set pieces.
Hence why I asked if he counts to the OP because whilst he was robbed of another 3 or 4 years at his generational peak, he was still fantastic relative to normal players. Gerrard still had a long and immense career with us, but after 30 years old, he was a shadow of the generational player he was in his 20's in my opinion. I remember being absolutely gutted seeing him unable to carry the team every week like he once could.

Nobody's mentioned Michael Owen so I'll throw his name in the mix.
Bit of a nob by all accounts, but I remember him breaking through as a kid, and he was incredible until injuries ruined him early.
His game was reliant on pace, and that hamstring injury just never got better. If his pace never went, he would have gone on to have an incredible career. (Although not with us, the rat lol).
