Bruno Guimaraes has asked to leave Newcastle. Arsenal interested. Any chance of Liverpool interest Eds/ITKs?

For my money, he would be an incredible signing and the perfect replacement for MacAlister.

I'd take him if you're paying. ?

I can't believe people complain about MacAllister for diving but want Bruno G to join. He is far worse in terms of diving.

Agree 100%, red_in_hk. Guimaeres is far worse. As I said earlier, for me winning free kicks does be the most significant thing he does in games. People who'd slate McCallister but would be happy with Bruno or Neto, for that matter, are hilarious.

Guimaraes has only missed 10 Premier League matches since he signed for them, unbelievable availability.

Newcastle have failed to win any of those 10 games without him playing.

He is absolutely quality and does far more than Macca.

He would be exactly what we need in our midfield, but I don't see us shelling out 70mil for a 28 year old.

Newcastle have failed to win most games he's played in too, Changing.

{Ed001's Note - what are you talking about? It is the games he doesn't play that they don't win. I think they have won something like 2 Premier League matches, since signing him, when he hasn't been on the pitch and their poor run last season was when he was out.}

Bruno is 29 not long after this season starts and would cost a bomb. To compare him to a couple of his compatriots, that's the same age as when Fabinho and Casemiro's legs went forcing Liverpool and Madrid to move them on. Same for Firmino, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Neymar etc. Brazilians don't typically look after their bodies to prolong their careers. Even Alisson has been dogged by injury since his late 20's. There are the odd exceptions like Thiago Silva to be fair though.

All things considered, Bruno is just not worth the risk. If he'd cost £0-20m like Milner, Endo, Thiago etc then it's maybe worth it. Newcastle will not be letting him go on the cheap though and thus, I have no desire for Liverpool to get involved in a bidding war for a player who i think will be on a steep downward trajectory within the next 12-18 months. Bouaddi had him on toast.

{Ed001's Note - even Thiago Silva would pick up a fair few niggles MKS.}

First of all, he's missed more than 10 Premier League games for them, and in two of his four full seasons he had no European football. Even Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro look really good with that kinda schedule. Wouldn't be mad to get Guimaeres. Can't really remember him having many good moments against us.

Guimaraes always looks like he has a super power that is like referee shield of invisibility +9. He rarely gets carded, and if he is on a yellow, he never gets a second.

Good skill to have in CM.

What happened to the Diomande crew who said "don't worry about the cost".

Wild that so many on here are prepared to gamble 100mil + on a lad who's literally had 1 season at a good level, but baulk at paying 70mil for a proven prem player who's absence clearly has a detrimental effect on his team.

Talking injuries is nothing shy of conjecture with no evidence of his injury record to back it up. For every Casimeiro etc there's a Virg or Salah.
