Hi Ed02, if you don't mind answering, what type / style of football would you say Slot is favouring?

Ed2 absolute legend comes up triumphs once again. Not that it’s a down deal, but it was our beloved ed2 who named slot as an option, before the last day or two it wasn’t even a name mentioned. Well done ED2 we are lucky to have you on here!

I notice you suggested slot early on . apart from him playing attacking football 4 2 3 1 or 4 3 3 . what are we likely to expect from this fella?

I like the idea of attacking football . I don't like the stuff we play passing it around the back at a snails pace we keep falling into the trap of doing .

Any players likely to go bye bye now. or are we likely to raid the Dutch league for players? Which is a massive gamble .

Thanks for any insight as usual.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any plans to "raid the Dutch league" but a Dutch player remains of interest. The transfer targets and departures have largely already been determined.}

Other than Alonso most of the names to take over from Klopp are from out of the left field (To those of us not in the know! ) . Looking at Slot, my only concern is that he won the Eredivisie last year, but is due to be a runner up this season (9 pts behind PSV with inferior goal difference) . Amorim on the other hand looks to be finishing this year with a second title in a row.
I'm sure whomever we get, Edwards and co will have done their homework on and will best suit us going forward.

Amorim won the league in the 20-21 season. So Slot could not win the league this season or the coming and then win it the season after to equal Amorims haul. In short: your worry is based on false information.

Well to be honest united and ETH have flatlined if not declined since Ollie was at the wheel. Didn't think that was possible but God bless them and lol. Let's hope the new structure at the club is taylor made for the new guy to come in hit the ground running. Interesting but nervy times for sure.

With some of our (fans) preferred managers now ruled out of the running what are peoples opinions on de zerbi? I was not in favour when our options included alonso and even nagelsman but now he is starting to look like a better option than the proposed Slot. I know Slot is well regarded but is a huge gamble coming from a weak league and de zerbi is premier league established and doing well for Brighton considering he has had all his star players either injured or sold.

I'd have De Zerbi down as a far better option than most on here think. I agree Slot a huge gamble, but don't know much about him. good luck to him if he gets it though.

Best players sold, trying to navigate europe with a small squad and a rake of injuries i think they've actually done well to be where they are. Or did people expect brighton to keep selling players like Macca and Caicedo and continually get better? it was always going to catch up with them.
