Hello ed, do you think liverpool will be interested in Clint dempsey this summer? Since Hes been in inspired form an can play numerous positions :) {Ed002's Note - Should Dempsey come up for sale there will certainly be interest from Spurs and a couple of German sides, plus possibly Arsenal.}

luis suarez staying with kd looking at soldado

Not sure if Soldado and Suraez will link up well- hopefully Im wrong though

Yeah, Kenny might be looking but that's all - he wont be signing him. Why would Soldado leave Valencia for Liverpool?

Can Liverpool sign a Goalkeeper on an emergency loan and is Jerzy Dudek available ?

Not a bad shout with Dudek

He should be available, he retired recently. If we asked I'm sure he'd say yes. Speaking of ex-GKs though if we are allowed to sign someone on emergency loan there's always Kirkland. Likes of Gomes, Stockdale, Harper etc could be allowed to come too.

Yeah id love dudek he was one of the best cup goal keepers around specialy if it gose down to pens. lets hope it happens brad jones big respect for him but he was shakey as hell cuased the second goal and moyes was watching and will no that and will encorage his players to test him

I asked the same question earlier which was posted on the banter page, asked the Ed's could we potentially sign a keeper on an emergency loan and Ed001 informed me that an emergency loan would not be sanctioned and we have very good young keepers, one of whom will have to be on the bench on Saturday, unless Kenny risks it and doesn't name a sub keeper.

Jonny. {Ed001's Note - the option of signing a free agent is always open as well, but I would hope we would show faith in a youngster. I hadn't actually thought of the free agents earlier.}

Maybe that was the plan. make jones look shaky to really screw moyes over!

Liverpool could sign a keeper on an emergency loan but the FA would have to run it past Alex Ferguson first.

Also keep in mind some that have been mentioned here may be cup-tied

Through the Storm

As an Aussie I'm proud of jones, and look foward to his performance on Saturday

Liverpool's third-choice goalkeeper Brad Jones says he will be "ready" for Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Everton.

Source- www.bbc.co.uk/Sport/0/Football

Emergency keeper loans are only permitted when there's injuries involved not suspensions. Reina and Doni are counted as being fit so no dice . We could recall Gulacsi or have Ward on thr bench or more likely just risk it for this 1 match. With Aagger back jones won't have much yo desk with anyway :)

{Ed022's note - brand new player profile on Junior Hoilett of Blackburn Rovers. He's available on a free in the summer so could perhaps be a good buy? www.player-profiles.co.uk - thanks all.}

hey eds now everyone goes on about damiao and neymar but i think that leandro of gremio is the real deal. is there any ntrest in him he can be brilliant ? {Ed002's Note - No.}

I agree him from gremio is top notch and would not cost the world..

Ask lucas ;)

''Ed002's Note - No''

Could you elaborate mate...

Cheers,

RobbehLFC. {Ed002's Note - What elaboration is required? Are Liverpool interested? No.}

Re-read the original post - think I missed the actual subject of the question amidst the bad grammar.

Cheers for the clarification. I would have thought many top teams would be at least interested in a player of his youth and calibre though...

Cheers,

RobbehLFC.

Got some transfer news on Sterling. You can click 'disagree' all you want but this is it.

My old mans mate said he knew Sterling's uncle and rang him up infront of me. His uncle said that he's off to London. Take with a pinch of salt, but that's the latest on him.

Remember the name, Stark.

He travelled with the first team squad, i seen him getting off the bus with them.

So he wasn't in the reserves and now hes not in the first team squad so he must be getting sold? The ultimate knee jerk reaction haha! Did anyone actually consider hes 17 and its the time of year when kids have exams? Perhaps he just needed a break from football?

YNWA! (Adam)

He's been fine in Liverpool for 3 years and as soon as he is on the the edge of the 1st team he will leave ok then

I agree with YNWA! (Adam). It's probably a very good reason why he hasnt played at all today.

Burnsy

Its rife down here that hes heading back down come the summer!

Yes with the squad for saturday. i know this coz my uncles, uncles, uncle told me!

I believe you because I just called messis uncle who said he is signing this summer. That is why Liverpool decided to let sterling go.

What a load of hite, get a life lad

What a load of hite, get a life lad

Shame if its true,but no players bigger than the club- if he doesnt want to wear the shirt, let him go.

Hi I'm Sterling's uncle. I'm a multi million heir who lives off cake. I drive 2 Ferraris, one for each foot and I'm seeing Megan Fox. See I can make stuff up as well.

Stark raving mad.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

He was with the squad vs Blackburn, also sitting with the other players that didn't play, does that make them also on the way.

Sure your dad wasnt making fun of you...

Where's the 'disagree' button I'm supposed to be pressing?

You can say what you want, but that's what his uncle said. Hopefully he stays put, i'm sure he knows of another bloke who swapped the red of Merseyside for London.

Stark

From what im told by someone who works at the academy is that sterlings mum wants to move back to london, but he is willing to give it another season in the hope he breaks into the first team! if he doesnt then he fancies a move to spurs.

It would be very sad to lose him at this point of his career but I must admit I think he should have had more first team involvement.People keep saying " he is only 17" but Flaano and Robbo were only 17 last season and they got their chance.
CR

I personally think the handling of Sterling is just fine. he's not ready yet, we have plenty of capable players on the LW.

Ciao, sono un reporter italiano e tutti i titoli qui a Napoli Notizie Cavani per reclamare che il Liverpool FC è un affare fatto. È stato riferito che un affare di circa 28.000000 e il suo stipendio è di circa 120.000.

Translates to:
Hello, I'm an Italian reporter and all the titles here in Naples News Cavani to claim that Liverpool FC is a done deal. It has been reported that a deal about 28.000000 and his salary is about 120,000.

I assume that said something like LFC have agreed a fee for Cavani on 120k per week? {Ed002's Note - Great news, eh.}

Say what ?

Eds, is this guy at least from Italy or just using google translate? Thanks {Ed001's Note - do you really need to ask? It is rubbish.}

Someone wrote it in Italian so it must be true Lol!

Ik kan ook in een buitenlandse taal schrijven. Cavani gaat niet naar Liverpool voor 120,000 euro per week. Het is helemaal onzin - sukkel!!!
Dutchmal

I can also write in a foreign language. Cavani does not go to Liverpool for 120,000 euros per week. It's all nonsense - sucker! Dutchmal

To the person who translated the Dutch via Google - It should be 'is not going' not 'does not go'. If you are going to be a na-aper (copy cat) make sure that your grammar is correct!
Dutchmal (de enige echte!)

Blame Google! person was trying to translate for the vast majority who don't speak Dutch. I wasn't trying to give a Dutch lesson Ffs.

Hmm...Alessandro Del Piero, lasagne mama mia...

So the Italians have April Fools day on the 11th. I learn something new every day on this site.

No Sterling...great

Jack the Groove {Ed002's Note - Doni, Flanagan, Skrtel, Coates, Johnson, Henderson, Shelvey, Spearing, Maxi, Carroll, Bellamy. (Subs: Jones, Enrique, Agger, Aurelio, Suarez, Kuyt, Carragher}

That team is a joke of a starting line up, why leave suarez on the bench we need points on the board and he starts players like coates why is enrique on the bench, KK gets it wrong again i understand we've got a semi final on saturday but you need points so why do this, no doubt big Andy will be dropped again and everyone will still slate him!

Are we playing 4-3-3 yes? if we played 4-4-4 with hendo on the right and shelvey spearing in the middle it would not work i would say.
josh

Surely the lineup is due to the semi final the weekend ...keep up

Pardoe

Josh - agreed, i imagine fielding thirteen players might not work....

stevey

Whats the score just now you bunch of idiots? clearly we have no strength in our squad eh.... andy h

Yeeeeeeeaah buddy

Weeeeeeeell well, seems like d joke's on us then so, those 'weakened' players gave us food for thought for a change, real dilemma for Sat now, do we field our 2nd string on the off-chance... hmmmm... funny oul game this footie... ahh, a supporter's life is sooo colourful, esp with the Pool.

Hi eds

Great site. Was wondering if we're interested in Hernanes from Lazio? Seems like a good option to bring into the midfield. He's still just 26, scores his fair share of goals, and appears for the Brazil senior team.

Cheers
Rohan {Ed002's Note - I think that there could be interest in the player at the right price but Lazio may have a figure above £20M in mind which is why Juventus have been put off.}

I've read that Lazio want £16 million for Hernanes, which is closer to 20 million Euro's.

But i may be wrong.

10 Apr 2012 19:03:57
Hi Ed's and Macca.Great site.I have one question for you.
What about Edin Dzeko? Are we(LFC) interested in him?The guy have some skills that Carroll dont have,great finisher,use both legs,have pace etc.
{Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest.}

10 Apr 2012 17:52:34
Eds when we signed hendo what other clubs wanted him? {Ed002's Note - Manchester United had previously been interested.}

Think fergie & harry pulled the wool over kenny's eye's with ghost bids for henderson, carroll and adam leaving kenny dumb enough to fall for it!

Until they realised he was rubbish

Hendo will be awesome and you both will pretend you knew all about his talent, just like you did with Lucas

I agree he come good mate..

Thanks again eds and the boys got class in abundance

Hendo was brilliant yesterday btw. I see more potential in him. I really didn't see potential in Lucas, but Hendo seems to have that something.

Have always thought Hendo will be a great player in the near future. Must admit I also feel Lucas is over rated but there you go.

10 Apr 2012 17:36:50
Hi, Eds. Any interest from LFC for Lucas Moura? A really talented player! {Ed002's Note - No interest from Liverpool - Chelsea and Inter Milan remain the most likely destinations if he moves in the summer.}

10 Apr 2012 17:19:22
Ed heard a rumour of interest in Nigel De Jong from city? I Know we r looking at Luuk De Jong also, im not getting confused lol. I have also heard from a source that weve been looking at kightly from wolves as a squad player, u heard any of this? {Ed002's Note - No I haven't.}

10 Apr 2012 17:18:49
Reina on his way to Malaga possibly at the end of the season

Pigs will fly..

Malaga have just signed kameni so I doubt reina will be leaving. When he leaves, athletico Madrid will be his destination

Sam Adzii JFT96

Wouldn't put it past him due to his recent performances.

That's strange - he normally goes to Torremelinos for his holidays.
Dutchmal

Good he's lost interest in playing 4 pool .

10 Apr 2012 17:12:55
Moussa Dembele looks like the type of player that could strengthen Liverpools options in the final 1/3. He also gets up and down the pitch well. Although I liked Kenny's British view on transfers it doesn't seem to have worked out, but I still believe we need to be looking at players who have Premiership experience.... Any thoughts??

Dembele is quality

Dembele is quite good, yes, but I'm not sure we need another player who doesn't score any goals.

10 Apr 2012 16:58:25
Jeremy Perbet is an oppostion and is possible for a fee of £5,000,000. Why not try a cheap option? if it fails then we havent lost much! I am sick of LFC being ripped off by clubs. Anyone feel the same?

Aren't we the club that sold Torres for £50 million?

Did we buy Xabi Alonso for £10 million and sell him for £30 million?

10 Apr 2012 16:44:08
Kenny will step down at the end of the season, regardless of if we win the FA cup or not - He will remain at the club in an advisory role, which will allow Carragher to take charge of the first team, with Kenny as his right hand man.

Big risk by the yonks, but they want to build the club from within and will give Carra a min. of 3 seasons to prove his worth.

No big signings in the summer - with a number of high earning / underperforming 'stars', inc. Pepe, Kuyt, Downing, Carroll and Henderson offered to the highest bidder, with the likes of Johnson, Adam, Bellemy and Maxi being made available for transfer (No all will go, pick any 4 of the above).

Youth will be the focus, with a number of reserves being promoted to the first team, plus expect a few 'old heads' to be recruited, to assist with their development.

One signing which will happen is Alonso - Deal done

You are crazy!

It was April 1st 9 days ago mate

This all sound good. what you think of charlie austin from burnley he is a fox in the box pick him up 3-5mil he is a future england if he can get signed up he is a liverpool style player mark my words

So which one of Kenny's staff will be sacked to make way for Carra, is it Clark or somebody else, and do you know if Carra has all his badges etc to be able to take over as manager and did you drink all of your milk before you were put to bed?

Carragher hasn't even done all his badges, especially not his European licence. Liverpool are in the Europa Cup next season, Carragher wouldn't be able to be the coach/manager, especially not on a 3 year contract.

You lie!

You've got far too much time on your hands mate

Charlie Austin fox in the box? Ha! More like cat in the hat.

Do you have any idea what you are talking about?

M8 stop getting high this has to be the most laughable post ever go back to the circus you clown
mrbrown

Haha. Alonso will leave Madrid, where he is the main man, along with Ronaldo and Casillas, to play for Carragher??

It is a certainty , I have been posting that for the last 3 months now. Dave In ireland

No footballing skills. Developed a hatred for the gifted foreigners - Nando, Arbeloa and Pepe. Wouldn't surprise me if the Yanks did something this daft!
Fits in with the "cutting the wage bill" ( perverted) philosophy.

LFC= built by Shanks, killed by Yonks!

10 Apr 2012 16:40:37
Sterling rumoured to be in tonight's squad. Possibly starting, though I'm not getting my hopes up!

A.C.

Think he could be. Was not in reserve squad that played this afternoon. Suso wont be playing though he scored the winner

He'll more than likely be in the squad as he wasn't involved with the ressies today. Probably on the bench.

Stone YNWA.

A.C. stands for Andy Carroll?

Not happy maxi who is leaving gets a game but sterling left at home what a joke

You still happy at Maxi playing, or is two goals from him not enough? Leffeman101

"Not happy maxi who is leaving gets a game but sterling left at home what a joke"

lmao, it was a fantastic joke, with two great punchlines. you comment is a fail.

Two goals or not sterling could of been there to tap Them both in then he gets more games.

10 Apr 2012 16:12:28
Chadli Twente player is it a real target for the club? {Ed002's Note - Not at this time, but he is attracting a lot of interest from elsewhere. Perhaps there will be interest in the summer.}

10 Apr 2012 16:11:58
will people stop saying cavani, hazard etc are unrealistic? they play for smaller clubs with less global recognition and would surely jump at the chance to play for a massive club like liverpool where they obtain worldwide notoriety and a massive wage packet. man city signed silva and toure by offering big wages and showing ambition, why can't we do the same? {Ed002's Note - I assume a joke post. You do understand that Liverpool cannot afford the transfer fees of the likes of Cavani, and certainly cannot afford to pay the wages that Manchester City do.}

But haven't the owners come out and said that if the player is needed they will stump up the money,they have shown this with the boston red sox?

But haven't the owners come out and said that if the player is needed they will stump up the money,they have shown this with the boston red sox? {Ed002's Note - How can you compare it to the Red Sox?}

....idiot, there will be bigger and better clubs after them sort of players, thats why we dont stand a chance...(bigger clubs with CL football)!

Deluded idiot, all the players you mentioned, well they play in the champions league and challenge for the domestic league, because they are at bigger clubs, as it stands today, liverpool are considered a middle type of club with a HUGE fanbase, fans and history isnt what matters to the modern footballer, hence why downing, adam, where signed n not silva n hazard, its all about performance not the size of your fanbase now

Well then Ed002 We'd better break with tradition then and start offering higher wage's as we will get left behind the pack! {Ed002's Note - Financially Liverpool are simply not in a position to pay the level of wages that Manchester City do.}

No but they can affort 35 million for the likes of carrol ???? {Ed002's Note - So if you have £35M and you spend it, how much do you have left?}

^ Ed 02 stupid post there, on that basis you could say Man Utd paid 30m for Berbatov thus they have nothing left to ever spend again? So because we bought Carroll according to you we now have no money. Oh and if you think Chelsea are going to sign Lucas Moura you are dreaming, Chelsea are in a strong position to have an even worse season then we have just had. He would be more likely to choose us should Chelsea miss out on cl, because Liverpool are, and always will be a bigger club than Chelsea. Boom. {Ed002's Note - You don't understand any of this. Liverpool have a great deal less money than Manchester United. They do not have endless amounts of money to through at players. And what has Chelsea got to do with this? What do you know of Moura - why not share with us what you know?}

I appreciate that Liverpool do not have the financial muscle of Man City, few clubs do. I would like to know what you are basing Liverpool's financial situation on having had only one window to gauge it upon. I would say wait until after the next window to see just how much the owners are willing to spend as it will allow us to determine an average. The second window is usually more telling as often the first window new owners spend more lavishly. I know nothing of Moura. That was merely a petulant reaction at your proclivity to put Liverpool down. Sorry about that.
However I think that we are more than capable of pulling surprises out the bag and attracting players that you or any of us expect a la Suarez. Business at Liverpool is generally done behind closed doors. {Ed002's Note - The owners are coming up to their fourth thransfer window as is the manager. Averages are not the way to work anything out but you need to understand that Liverpool are, like many clubs, losing money. The owners have to pick up the tab for this. Very soon the first full set of accounts where the owners have been in charge are to be published and those published in a year's time will be even more telling of the financial situation.}

10 Apr 2012 15:56:23
Portuguese source A Bola are reporting that Tottenham are edging Liverpool in the race for Dutch international Ricky Van Wolfswinkel.

We were going to buy this guy and some other decent players until clueless Dalglish came in and destroyed everything with his British preference. That the man is still in charge of this club despite all his failings is what I find really outrageous.

He should be gone in the morning.

You'd rather Hodgson then?

A rather OTT rant at Kenny I feel. I agree he is not the man for the job but do you think Wolfswinkle would have signed for Hodgson ? I doubt it.

I think you should keep your negative opinions about dalglish to yourself you bluenose

You're a sorry excuse of a fan.
No need to say anymore.

What an offensive post! Whilst I'm undecided about dalglish at the helm he deserves all our respect for what he has done for our club. Idiots like you should be gone in the morning!

I despair with modern day fans, I really do. Were you alive when Kenny won three league titles with us and won Blackburn their first and only league title? thought not!

Someones been in their Delorean again
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Kenny may have won 3 league titles, but isn't going to win a Premier League title!
Stop living in the past!!

Interesting how none of the superfans recall the Newcastle debacle. Too many selective memories putting individuals ahead of the club.

To all those who 'remember' Dalglish's original tenure 'so fondly'.

It just goes to show that with age doesn't always come wisdom.

But age does appear to bring respect! Interesting that the youngsters always talk about respect but don't know anything about it.

He has already won a Premier League title you mental degenerate

My mistake he won with Blackburn i apologise on that 1.
I'll rephrase it just for you, He (KK) is NEVER going to win a premier league title with Liverpool.Happy now TROLL?

Look Alan we heard your grovelling apology ,you really don't have to repeatedly post on here.

You're calling me a troll, my God!

The fact you didn't know about Dalglish winning a Premier League title shows you're complete ignorance of the man and football

10 Apr 2012 14:57:33
Dries Mertens would be a quality addition but Bayern Munich want him, but id fancy our chances as if he goes to Bayern he will be behind Ribery, Robben and Shaqiri, eds what do you think. thanks {Ed002's Note - I don't see Mertens moving to Liverpool.}

Have we had him watched at all ed, he would not be that expensive either including his wages.. {Ed002's Note - He wants to move to Germany.}

Ive been saying mertens for i dont know how long when he was at utrecht and everything! I should be a scout! I say players when there young and no1 gets them until they 23-24 when there price tag is 5x as much its a joke its not hard to see star quality in these youngsters! who the f*** are these scouts at clubs there obviously useless. Rant over!

10 Apr 2012 14:33:20
hey macca when you said adout soldado and muniain being top targets where you saying that we will try to sing both of them or will it be one or the other?
cheers. {Ed002's Note - The implication is both.}

With macca saying we after 5 players, and soldado and muniain are two of them, even if we didnt get them, would this mean we have around 70 mill or so to spend do you think? {Ed002's Note - No.}

10 Apr 2012 13:47:57
are we interested in juan vargas or just a rumour? {Ed002's Note - Juan Manuel Vargas is different from the traditional left sided players being as he is a proper wing wing back with a very good goalscoring record - although many come from free kicks. Fiorentina accept he will leave. Liverpool, Inter Milan, Napoli, Roma, Arsenal, Manchester City, Benfica, Bayern Munich and Zenit St Petersburg have shown an interest in the past but at 28 and with a now well documented weight issue, he may not be the easiest to sell. Bayern Munich maintain an interest and I would not be surprised if there is interest from Turkey and Russia.}

Interest in the past that means just an old news?

Do people actually look at our squad when they post these suggestion.I would hardly call leftback a major problem,a solid pro stand in at best until Robinson gets over his injury problems.

10 Apr 2012 13:47:24
ed any interest from liverpool in james rodriguez? we'd be fools not to take a look at him! {Ed002's Note - As of a couple of weeks ago, two clubs had spoken to Porto about James Rodrigues. Bayern Munich have been looking carefully at Rodrigues as an alternative to Dries Mertens. The other club is Palermo. I would not be surprised if Manchester United had been having the player watched but they may be reluctant to pay the sort of fee Porto would be looking for. No interest from Liverpool.}

From me understanding its not known who actually owns him. A south american company has ownership of him, or at least part ownership. So it would be a nightmare to negotiate. Plus considering most of the Portuguese league get paid the same amount as league two players, it's not exactly hard to shine.

10 Apr 2012 13:58:40
Ed's superb site
Is there any chance in Liverpool getting Adam Johnson in the summer, with the wingers we've got in place now surely we need someone who has got a final ball into the box?
Reply would be appreciated! {Ed001's Note - I very much doubt it.}

Ed's for what reason do you doubt it? This surely is a possibility. City have no quarms about selling players to other Top Clubs, for instance Adeyabor is on loan at Spurs although this is only a tempory thing he is still at another big club, so why wouldn't Johnson come to us? {Ed001's Note - because he is not the player he was, he earns too much and we have moved on from looking at him.}

10 Apr 2012 13:05:14
Barcelona interested in signing Giovinco, surprisingly listing him as a striker. From what I've seen on here someone mentioned him coming to us a winger? Could this be true?

Anfieldmike {Ed002's Note - Giovinco to Liverpool? No. D’Amico talks a good story. As we stand right now I don't think he will move this summer.}

A couple of transfer windows back when I still had a contact at Juve I was told Liverpool had enquired about Giovinco. As I said that was some time ago though.

Nevada {Ed002's Note - Giovinco was not at Juventus a couple of transfer windows back. Perhaps you are thinking of someone else.}

10 Apr 2012 12:42:17
hi eds, would liverpool possibly have any interest in coutinho? is there other clubs interested in him? thanks. {Ed002's Note - The situation with Philippe Coutinho remains broadly unchanged as far as I know. Inter had offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that eventually fell through last summer. He had a few starts early in the season and with Inter looking to sell Sneijder at some point to help fund their rebuilding I don't think they would want to sell - hence the loan to Espanyol. Coutinho would need a work permit so any move would not be easy.}

10 Apr 2012 12:04:48
Eds i think its pretty obvious we need a creative midfielder badly....is Gastón Ramírez our prime target for our position or as mecca said munain is being looked at? {Ed002's Note - As I have said previously Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool but I still remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club. This all dates back to before the January window and if the club were that interested then he was available in January for about 15M euro plus a signing on fee - but Liverpool did not follow up on their initial enquiry. However, Ramirez will move in the summer with interest being shown by Napoli, Inter Milan, Palermo and Juventus, who have made a firm offer. Unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Manchester City, Spurs, Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also interested. Sevilla were interested but I understand that Ramirez has no interest in such a move. At present, Napoli are very much favourites for his signature. Discussions have now taken place between Bologna and Napoli - adding to discussions that have taken place with Juventus. And Napoli are very much favourites for his signature at this time. His agent remains as talkative as ever but as of March 30 there has been no offer to Bologna for the player from any English club - and this has been confirmed by his club, and now his agent.}

I cant believe this player was there for us to get with the right bid but we never went in for him , eds ive seen you mention the players we have been watching , what frustrated me was other teams getting the players we had watched for most of last season , so basicaly i does not matter who we watch , we end up with henderson and downing , because i cant ever remember anyone saying we were watching these 2 players especialy henderson {Ed002's Note - Liverpool watching a player does not mean other clubs are not. You need Dalglish to explain the eventual purchases.}

Gaston a creative player.Unless my brains fried he's a runner not a foot on the ball passer.

10 Apr 2012 11:24:19
ed are we intersted in any muslim players?

Emir {Ed002's Note - Religion has nothing to do with who the club are interested in Emir.}

What diffrence dose religeon make to football mate? As long as they can play who cares?

What kind of question is that

This is the most bizarre post i have ever come across.... As we say "keep racism out of football" i would also like to say "keep religion out of football". Please do not mix religion and football together.
- mihired.

That is an odd odd question

Maybe he just wanted somone to look up to!
Jedimindtricks

We mix culture into football everyday, in European football (Uefa, CL) sliding tackles are penalised heavier than in the Premier League, just a slight example of differences due to culture.

In football we have players of all different races, colour, religions and creed. To say ''Don't mix football and religion'' is quite a statement.

Especially when one considers that huge numbers of players actually cross themselves or offer prayer to their deity/ies before even stepping on to the pitch, and when many players score they offer prayer after. Free scoring Papiss Cisse, does so every goal he scores as an example.

Sectarian violence has plagued Scottish football for years and years. People have died because of their football club choice.

So to type that statement shows a severe lack of knowledge and understanding to the subject of religion and football.

Racism is not acceptable in society and will be punished or viewed negatively, religion however, is acceptable in society, so it should not be looked at negatively but accepted as an individual choice.

Emir seems to me, to be genuine in asking if Liverpool are considering buying any Muslim players. This isn't hard to work out why, Emir is asking to see if he will be able to culturally identify with any possible Muslim player, should one be signing for Liverpool.

An atheist's view, for what it's worth.

Surely a football fan should be able 'to identify' with a player for footballing reasons, irrespective of the religion of either the fan or player.

Alrite eds hope all is well. What was the final decision on Marco Bueno is he coming to us I've tried searching but no luck hope u could help

alec {Ed002's Note - I don't know if he returned for the seconf trial. Sorry.}

Last October it was reported that he would sign for LFC when he turned 18 as per FIFA rules so I assume the trial went o.k.

Cheers mate for the info

Luis Muriel....any intrest from our side eds??just 20 and fits the billl..... {Ed002's Note - There is plenty of interest in Luis Muriel but none I am aware of from Liverpool at this time.}

hi, Eds. what are the chances of Ibrahim Afellay or pedro moving? both, brilliant players! {Ed002's Note - I suspect that with Affelay out injured pretty much all of this season it is unlikely that Liverpool would take a chance on him before he could prove his fitness. He may get two or three games so there will be a chance to take a look. However, he will likely be available in the summer and Italy looks like an option if he is. Pedro is not a likely recruit for Liverpool this summer.}

I have to laugh when the eds say "doubt the club would gamble on players fitness" when they spent £35million gambling on a donkey of a player.
nothing would surprise me.

Liverpool to sign an asian player named jejhe lalpekhlua.

Sounds reasonable - 22 goals in 43 appearances.
DM2012

LMAO!

That's the last thing we need an Indian footballer no disrespect for the country but the football standards there in terrible I know because I have been there and seen it myself, better sign an Indian Cricketer at least he will sell shirts

Could be great, cheap. Maybe we can do just the same with Jeje Lalpekhlua. Like fc porto did with hulk. :) he looks good... big potential...

I am an indian and its ok mate. no offense taken. I would love to see an Indian footballer play for Liverpool but we are still really far off. Maybe in 5 years or so. I wish

Sunny

Man i am an indian and there is absolutely no chance of signing him be realistic yeah he is a good player was on trials with rangers but i just cant see this happening mate -mihir

5 players, who macca talk about in summer -

Soldado
Muniain
Gaston Ramirez
Javi Martinez
Luuk De Jong/Hoilett

I doubt martinez is an option

Besides martinez i agree with you

Would be nice, but remember all the huge names we were linking ourselves to last summer? if this summer is anything like last one, a much more likely five will be:

Fletcher
Jarvis
Phillips
Redmond/McCarthy
Hoillet

let's just hope the decision of transfer targets comes from the right people!

Think one of the eds has already said hoilett has chosen his next club and very much doubts its liverpool

Graham
Dempsey 10m
Adam Johnson14m
Lennon10m

Out
Maxi 6m
Lucas 12m
Aurellio 1m
Cole 1m
Aqquilani 4.5m
Johnson ( if the price is right) 16m

LUCAS 12mil are you serious?

lucky you are manager

I think its time for the heads to come back out the sky, the owners wont allow another 30 million to be spent getting soldado, who is happy in valencia and set to play champions league football so thats that one gone, atletico rejected 32 million euros from madrid for munian so thats what us needing at least another 35 million for a young lad whos unproven at the highest level and who rejected barca advances in january, javi martinez has been talked about as a perfect partner for xabi at madrid but athletico have already said it will take his 50 million euro buy out to prize him away, they rejected all enquiries of 30 million plus bids last summer and hes now having a blinder of a season, ramirez has agreed in principle to join napoli, hoilett yeah why not will face champions league competition though, and luuk de jong is a target of dortmund to replace lewandoski who wants out this summer, city are the front runners, no player after seeing this season will drop from the champions league to come to liverpool, possibly the likes of mvilla, remy, top players in ligue 1 who want to step up domestically but not primera liga players, its like last summer, oh we are getting higuain, pastore, massive names that only had eyes for champions league teams, its like one of the eds said gotze is an option till i clearly pointed out a link to ssn where he signed a 5 yr deal with dortmund in january, and has homesickness issues like navas n baines, people should research before they post their rumours

realist

What fletcher,hoilett jarvis and mcarthy ? these guys are not big enough names!! unlike last summer i want big names not the right players!!

Krasic is certain to leave juventus and is endland bound......which clubs r intrested in him at present Eds??are we one of them....also how highly do you rate the player?? {Ed002's Note - Juventus will be open to offers for Krasic and Joksimovic has been trying to get as many clubs as possible interested including Lazio, Liverpool and Spurs - and he has had success in gaining interest from Spurs. Lazio, Borussia Dortmund, Zenit St Petersburg, CSKA, Fenerbahce and Anzhi Makhachkala have a confirmed interest in the player although I suspect Dortmund will drop their interest. There is at least one very influential person at Chelsea who very much likes the player and wishes to revisit earlier interest. Krasic has declared his interest in Manchester United and it is not completely out of the question that they may be interested in him. I would say Spurs or Russia with CSKA or Zenit are the most likely destinations right now.}

Krasic bails out big time.Smalltime attitude.If we sign him i will despair.

Hello everyone...

Got a bit of info on transfers for Liverpool this summer...

Gaston Ramirez is very close to signing, player and agent keen on Liverpool... we currently have delegates in Italy, negotiating a fee with Bologna...

JD

Nice! Heard anything about other signings/targets?

Good :D i hope u dont lie

sumer - soldado muniain javi martinez and gaston ramirez ! PERFECT SUMMER !

Agree with the 4 names above but would love lucas de moura to be on that list as well!

Ha and look at the that utter crap, his agent has just stated a deal with napoli is immenant, head out the sky time people

Must be true I saw a car with Italian number plate parked with all the players cars at Anfield on Saturday - I couldn't think of an Italian connection... until now..

All we fan can do is hope and expect..
Putting together whatever Macca and Eds'002 has said, putting it with my thoughts.
Our Ins would be :-
Soldado
Munain or Pedro (More likely)
Boudebouz
Luuk De Jong
And a possible goal keeper.
One free bee

Outs:-
Every one is saleable if the price is right (Barring Gerrard)

Maxi
Kuyt
Carroll
Suarez ( only if KK leaves)
Aurelio
All of the lads who are out on loan
Johnson ( only if KK leaves)
Wilson

Not playing Football manager here...
Just a depressed fan .. (The 'highest' low in 12 years of supporting the club)

Totally agree, nobody should be guaranteed to stay other than Gerrard. The only other two I would say to keep would be Kelly and Lucas.

The cowboys were the biggest low

Sell T.Silva? he is a great talented player. same as vilyan bijev... why would we sell them?

Thought that was two seasons ago, but we're still very much in the lows

A FourFourTwo journo who's reporting on Dutch football claims: "Feyenoord & Dirk Kuyt, according to Voetbal International, have started talks about a possible return. A potential stumbling block: salary."

Hi ed I have a few rumours iv heard and wanted your views on them. Firstly iv heard that Soldado from valencia is a target for us, i personally think this would be a great signing, and iv also heard talk of adam johnson and de jong from man city? plus ive heard a rumour of us taking on craig gordon from sunderland on a free when his contract is up at the end of the season as a back up for pepe? Plus ed i would love to see sterling, coady and mclaughlin given a chance before the season is over, what u think the chances are? thanks great job on the site! {Ed002's Note - There is plenty about Soldado over the past few days. I do know that Johnson can be considered a target and you have the wrong De Jong in mind. One or two of the youngsters may get a cameo or two.}

I have to say that is a fairly good shout about gordon. however i would prefer stockdale. if reina leaves i think krul.

According to the Italian press, Liverpool agents were in Italy to observe Atalanta winger Ezequiel Schelotto. I know he was on the books of Inter, is he good and any real interest?

I don't rate Schelotto from what i've seen, he's lanky which seems wrong for a wide player and he is lazy at times, doesn't track back, has scored a few though.

I really want Liverpool to snap up the likes of Crewe's Nick Powell and Dan Smith, i'd be willing to put money of those two. They're are looking like they'll be top players in a season or two.

Also Luuk De Jong, i think he's going to be great for whoever buys him.

Hes a beast on FM for me!

Eds/Macca have yous heard anything about Granit Xhaka coming? We've scouted him several times and as recently as last month. The boy looks to be the real deal and could be available for as little as £7mil. Any info much appreciated. Perhaps a player profile on him? {Ed001's Note - not about him coming, I know there are a lot of teams tracking him, but that's all I know.}
