tony barrett says the enrique deal is done eds you still not heard anything,also surely dann would choose us over arsenal whats your view?
the freshmaker {Ed001's Note - unfortunately it is correct, still not convinced it is a good move, but Kenny knows far better than I ever will. Dann has been waiting on us to bid all summer, if we bid he will come.}

I think we need to wait and see he is quick and tricky enough, if aurellio could walk up a stairs without getting injured we would be laughing as on his day is a fantastic footballer, in kenny we trust
the freshmaker

At the price we've paid I don't think we could have done much better.

Enrique, Aurelio and Robinson isn't a bad trio of LB's to have.

dmedly

Ed
we have to believe. If it had been hodgson last year I might have felt differently {Ed001's Note - I do believe Kenny and the rest of the coaching staff can improve him, I just think Robinson is already better.}

Enrique is top notch, youl see

We need Enrique plus either Dann (preferred as he will play for the shirt) or Cahill by weekend.

10 Aug 2011 23:06:56
a certain spanish LB done 5.5mill

10 Aug 2011 22:41:38
First ever post and don't know if its true but come from Dave Watson apparently,he has said kenny has got the choice this week Enrique for 6m or baines for circa 12m apparently everton are desperate for money and would sell

I heard this rumour tonight

What a load. If this were true Kenny wouldn't hesitate to bring Baines in. He wouldn't think twice as Baines is the best left back in England imo.

We wont get baines for as cheap and apparently we are after agreeing with newcastle for enrique for 5.5 million pretty cheap considering it was quated at over 10 million at the start of the transfer window

Baines for £12 mill you're having a laugh Sell an England full back for that price and you wouldn't be desperate you'd be insane.

Can not see EFC selling Baines for less than $18-20 Mill, you would need to add some to that if the destination is LFC.

lfc to sign mata by friday

Will you go away with the Mata talk He would cost about £40m now it aint happenin and it was NEVER gonna happen

Think Downing would keep him out of the team IMO

You nutters keep on and on with the Mata matter and we will NOT be signing him

Haha Mata is better by a country mile stop supporting with your heart over your head.

What the same Jonny Mata that barely got a kick of the ball last week when Valencia came to Anfield?

Why would kenny do that?

Kenny wants
1 from Enrique, clichy
2 from jones samba Cahill
2 from young mata downing Nzogbia
1 from osvaldo gervinho gyan rodallega
1 from Adam mvilla matuidi

Growler

Please post on rumours,eds how does my post compare to the likes of macca and other regular posters for accuracy considering I post almost 3 months ago,got plenty of unbelievables at the time too,great work by the way keep it up

You named 16 of the people that were highly talked about with one or two exceptions and got 2 right. I suspect most people would have got 2-4 right if they were asked to name a top 16 most likely in June

You have 2 players out of 16 mate and everyone knew those 2 were signing

So you name 16 players and we've signed 2 of them so far, your well in the know you are

Clichy? the one who signed for man city this summer? dont be daft

What a claim to fame you insider

I predicted before June that liverpool would sign at least one player... A male under the age of 40 and still alive today I was right. I was also right in predicting that 6 different numbers and a bonus ballwould be drawn in this Saturdays lotto. If that turns out to be true, u heard it here first #what-a-t**t

Wow You predicted we'd sign Adam the guy we went chasing like crazy in the previous transfer window I am in awe of your amazing powers

I said Kenny wanted them not that all would sign and this was before bids for clichy,jones and young who chose other teams over us,gervinho was enquired about but only wanted arsenal move Idiots

Okay I will give you the benefit of the doubt... You will become the undisputed insider PROVIDING we sign:
Cahill and Samba (maybe even just either)
AND
Mata (not goingto happen)
And
Rodallega, Osvaldo, OR Gyan

Thanks for your clarification which simply points out your prediction was even less insightful Just a wild guess it sounds like then. Using the same method, I will say we want at least ONE OF: Dann, Cahill, Enrique...

Enrique* jones-rejected us,Cahill close.
Downing* young-rejected us,gervinho-rejected us,rodallega-slim chance if we sell unwanted players.Adam* what's the problem

Eds have a fee been agreed for Enrique and is it true KK left the door open for aqualani to stay ? I would love him to stay because he is quality but I think he may go now as he just scored for italy and seems to be in good form and have you heard any news on a new cb please post on rumours and state your opinions will be appreciated :D {Ed002's Note - Macca says Enrique was done today - I don't know if that is true or not, but I am not aware of any completed deal. Aquilani will move if at all possible.}

This is anfield are tweeting enrique deal complete,dont know how reliable they are,jimmybosun

Think Aquilani's comments tonight show he's not desperate to leave LFC

10 Aug 2011 21:28:31
ed some crazy stories on here people s imagination getting better off them only player coming in will be dann everyone else stop dreaming

If you're convinced of that why would you waste your time on a rumours website. Youve got it all figured out...

Enrique signing fast approaching so that's 2 coming in not 1.

You may say am a dreamer but am not the only one.

10 Aug 2011 21:11:35
Macca is wrong we arnt interested in the slightest when it comes to benayoun.there's maybe only one former player that would be welcomed back to liverpool and that's alonso.do you think dalglish is going to buy/sign for free a man who turned his back on the club to chase money?no chance

AlexMAINSTAND

He didnt turn his back on us for money , he hated benitez

Beleive that benitez forced him to leave as he did not want him after he had one of his best seasons for us. He is a quality player who could do a job but have a feeling he will go to spurs

Cumbrian red

The 30-year-old said before the final game of the season Benítez pulled him aside in training and said: "You will not be in the squad for this game. Thank you for your three years of service, now you can call your agent to do a deal with another club."
"That's when Chelsea made an offer," said Benayoun, "and the deal was done before Benítez left."

I thought he left amid the takeover period - we were at one point looked at by Arabians, and being Israeli, it would have bought shame on his family to work for Arabs... or something like that... {Ed001's Note - that had no bearing on him going.}

He never did what torres did,yossi was forced to leave by the spanish waiter,FACT

For the hard of thinking, if Benitez left on the 3rd of June and Yossi signed for Chelsea on the 2nd of July, how could Rafa have forced him out? Yossi was covering his own back with that statement, making out that he had no choice in staying, but that's clearly not true. Some people will use anything to have a pop at Rafa. If Rafa was still manager at the time he left, it would be a fair comment and might even be true. But he wasn't, and it isn't.

10 Aug 2011 20:17:25
Dann was 4/11 to sign for liverpool this morning hes now 1/4 to sign 4 arsenal thats a huge swing someone must know something looks like arsenal might have stolen the march on us any news?

I said this the other day he would jump at the Chance to play champions league football then join he so called boyhood club ..

Pat rice was seen talking to someone from birmingham when they played a friendly against spurs which dann played in.

Not botherd hes not liverpool standard

Maybe they've heard the rumour that they are finally selling Fabregas and have lots of cash to splash

No. Why would the bets change in favour of those betting? Think of it as they are trying to attract more people to a losing bet and the odds are no way to measure how close someone is to signing.

LFC Eaton

They are called bookmakers for a reason. The odds are fabricated, balanced against what bets they have received at longer odds and as a way of reducing their losses if it is right. It doesn not actually mean anything. Liverpool were 3/1 to sign Mata at one point.

TSP

Lets be honest...Cahill s so much the better player - lets get him

Bring in dann a liverpool lad let cahill off to arsenal

10 Aug 2011 19:38:39
Macca

Any time scale given on these signings?

Before the kickoff of the big season or towards the end of the transfer window?

Would love to see Dann or Cahill at the clud commanding the back four.

Do you really think Dann or Cahill are capable of commanding the back four?

Nobody commands the back 4 quite like Carra who will continue to do so for at least another 2 years get used to t

No idea ....

{Ed002's Note - Impersonating other posters is a no-no that gets you banned I am afraid.}

I meant someone stepping up into Carras shoes in a couple of years.
By no means am i slating Carra, Carragher is Mr Liverpool at the moment.

Jon

Sorry forgot to sign off earlier.

Carra's last season of playing week in week out. He has been a greater player than anyone had realised he would be when he first made the first team. His level of performance will taper off near the end of the season. This will be his last full season. Love him but face fact people.

10 Aug 2011 19:33:58
Just read somewhere Palacios for Liverpool, anything in this Ed or just another stab in the dark.

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - I think it is just conjecture, I have heard nothing regarding that at all.}

Hope not. He was always the weak link in tottenham's midfield.

Palacious is the worst footballer in the premiership. FACT

Could see the sense in that

Stoke have made a big for him so highly unlikely

10 Aug 2011 19:23:34
enrique 2 b done before sat but wont play v sunderland but will be paraded before the game... reliable source(jason mcater)

Can someone please let me know has Enrique fee been agreed ?

He going to arsenal were getting dann

Is this the real Jason Mc Ateer? It has to be , he spelt his own name wrong

10 Aug 2011 18:53:38
Reports KK to swoop for Elia the new John Barnes..... This guy has skill and pace to burn WOW

Dan

He is also left footed just like downing so i doubt it

So has Usain Bolt. End product is key and this guy, at present, is very inconsistent. Plus he won't come cheap.

Dirks Engine Room

New John Barnes, who told you; youtube?

Elia is right footed not left footed.

He played piss poor in opening game of the season...got subbed and was given a 3.5/10 by goal.com..just a thought.
Drezperado

What an insult to John Barnes...in one statement you reduced one of our top 5 players to mediocrity...

10 Aug 2011 18:33:18
Macca... What do you know on outgoings? Aquilani, Cole, Meireles, Poulsen, Kyrgiakos, Insua, Ngog, Degen and El Zhar - what are their current situations?

Who is more likely out of Dann and Cahill?

And is Benayoun close to being done or is there just interest and who does the deal depend on leaving?

O would keep aqua and wud rather send shelvey on loan...

If benayoun is available...grab him...he can unlock defences and was sol when Raffa was having a "moment"

10 Aug 2011 17:53:02
Yossi Benayoun won't be returning to Liverpool.

Donnypool

He will when chelsea play there

Would you like to state the reason why?

I have very close relations with a member of Liverpool staff who keeps me informed and they are definately not going for any more midfielders. Enrique will be the last signing.

Donnypool

10 Aug 2011 17:34:19
@transfersecrets Juan Mata thing was a hoax. He just posted up a picture taking the piss. How can anyone take his reports seriously now?

Why would anyone take anything seriously from a twitter account called "trasfersecrets" ?

I'm surprised ANYONE gives any credence to the "Liverpool signing Mata" rumours.It ain't gonna happen

10 Aug 2011 17:24:13
Sneijder will be a confirmed Man utd supporter in 48hours. According to the Telegraph. Mertesacker and Dann are the way forward for LFC. Enrique is almost confirmed at 5.5 mill. I know right now so many rumours are flying around but these are the only ones that we can believe. LFC for life, YNWA

Hope so,cos pi**ed off waiting.were not good enough,as it stands.weve been told more to come in,well cutting it finenot gona quote names of some ex manc t**ts saying were not good enough to challenge.but their saying what we all know.signings the posters mentioned,flair wide anduptop required.but why come part way?cos thats sadly where we are.yes progress made,but not enoughat wire now

Well Wesley can be a Man Utd supporter as long as he likes just so he doesn't sign for them D'oh

10 Aug 2011 17:15:56
Any news on Enrique?

The latest news is that he was spotted going into Macca's for tea. He had a Big Mac fries and a Diet Coke.

Jiminy Cricket

All betting suspended on Enrique

dmedly

I heard him and ed002 went to the cricket and are now partaking in a fine ale and some dominoes
CharlieBravo {Ed001's Note - that is not true, Ed002 will only drink the finest champagne, she has expensive tastes...}

I love it ^ and okay I'm confused why have people disagreed all he said any news :L what's to disagree or agree about it ? :L

10 Aug 2011 16:55:51
Yeah sure why not... We definitely need more midfielders....
Musicnation(India)

Mate its defenders/width,cover forward we need

10 Aug 2011 16:54:10
i did say that enrique would be done today by 5pm. Macca has today confirmed that the deal is agreed etc, just formalities.
hulkman

The Deal is not done, it wont be done until everything is signed..... I'm not saying it wont be done, but as of now it is not yet done so your timing is out

So hulkman, are you now saying that your earlier post is right or are you now trying to cover your back because no deal has been mentioned anywhere? i think your simply another supporter who likes to think he knows what he's on about and in ' the know ' but really you dont. am i correct? and if macca said so then it musr be true... rofl lol. joker

Tdogg77

Dont think it has been confirmed yet mate

calm your self down

Jon

10 Aug 2011 16:49:07
Benayoun is a different attacking player that would be beneficial to have in the squad when facing teams that park the bus as he can beat a man with his shimmy but most importantly he retains possession well, has good vision and can make a great final pass in tight situations from both coming of either wing or through the middle behind the striker. Some of his play is even more 'cute' than Maxi's, the question remains though… is this not just a load of BS as:

1) He was interviewed the other week and seemed really happy at Chelsea with his mate Fernando.
2) His transfer value will only decrease due to his age.
3) Is there not someone else out there that can fill his proposed role better?

On the other hand, he is again another proven and experienced player to add to the squad who can do more than a job. He would probably gel instantly given his past experience with a few of the midfield /defence starting 11 and the 4-2-3-1 formation.

Yossi was so much more effective than Joe Cole, however he wasn't a ball winner and did go missing in games where we couldn't retain possession.

Nat king cole more affective then joe

10 Aug 2011 16:45:33
Is there any truth to these rumours about kayal or hooper coming from Celtic

Ild believe kayal moreso

10 Aug 2011 16:42:50
I ment to start with Ed002 15 sessions when ye their was 14 left when i replied did my doing my sums. Last question re cricket Ed002, are ya from Yorkshire and do you enjoy cricket? India all out 224 all out Red Indian,a good fightback from your team mate from 117/7. Last post re cricket Ed. Jonson6 {Ed002's Note - I thought everyone knew I am a born and bred Yorkshireman who loves his cricket.}

More of a New York-shireman surely Ed002? {Ed002's Note - Still several thousand miles adrift. I was born near Seattle but grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.}

Sorry forgot to sign off

Chris in Tamworth

Ed002 I thought you were female. surely you would of put a yorkshire lass instead of yorkshire man even if you were joking ?? just a thought.
TIZER RED

It will be 4-0 trust me I am pulling my hair out with lack of effort and application its same as some Liverpool teams did under roy.
No effort for fans loosing becomes ok basically.

Red indian

I thought you were female {Ed002's Note - I thought he was too.}

10 Aug 2011 16:28:59
@transfersecrets has just said on twitter that liverpool will announce the signing of juan mata at 530pm today . i dont believe it myself but just passing on the info. cheers
ngs77

10 Aug 2011 16:24:34
Liverpool go GaGa for Gago

Commoli in talk with Real for Fernando Gago

Dalglish wants a defensive midfielder

Price around 10M Euro

Larry Lloyd

I pressed "unbelievable" to this but would definitely agree we need a holding midfielder in the mould of Mascherano etc.
ANFIELDPETE

Larry we need you back in defence

Get you kit and head to Melwood NOW

Big Man your team needs you

I woulden't at all mind if Dalglish were to capture Gago. Amazing skill on the ball more flexible than Lucas IMO. Think he will give Lucas much needed competition. Think we can get him for under 10 mil euroes as well..

-red norwegian-

Larry "Colossus" Lloyd is that you?

Yeah never mind a full back or centre back let's buy yet another midfielder before we even unload any of the ones we don't want

We were earlier in the summer top heavy with Midfilders and we kept buying more?

What's your point?

That we need defenders, does Kenny think so?

Unloading the midfield players we don't want will take years?

As they won't get the money were paying anywhere else?

Have you heard of the Financial Crisis?

Does KK want a defensive midfielder for every position?

Gago would be available so i could see this happening but he is no where near worth 10m and could be bought much cheaply if we needed him which we dont

10 Aug 2011 16:09:13
hearing a lot of talk about dann signing for arsenal. you heard owt ed's?

op6 {Ed002's Note - I refer to earlier answers.}

Heard lotve talk=us,also.problem is thats just it=talk

10 Aug 2011 16:08:28

( please reply ) ............... the chef kd7 YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - I have not heard anything about it, but that does not mean it is not true.}

10 Aug 2011 15:41:38
Hi (ED 02/09) Is the Benayoun Rumour by Macca A genuine rumour or a complete wind up?

I just don't see it. He was a good player but not consistant. Then there is the Chelsea being a biigger club than L.F.C issue. Those sort of comments would not have impressed the club or Liverpool faithful. We must have better options than benayoun would you Ed's not agree.

Thanks. R.F.E. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea would not have any problem selling him, so it is possible. I must say that I am not aware of any interest but I don't imagine that it is a "wind up" by Macca.}

The return of a former player has been a widespread topic of conversation on twitter. Surely Benayoun would be a direct - and better - replacement for Cole.

I dont recall benayoun ever saying Chelsea are a bigger club than Liverpool, only Torres making them comments, hence why he isnt liked, not because he left us, contrary some beliefs...

One born every minute

Maybe he doesn't like torres

We should be getting rid of the deadwood not shipping in and signing past deadwood

Yossi is not required, he aint good enough

I`ve heard Yossi is being offered to Chelski as part of the Modric deal.....player + cash Dont know how true just a rumour

CoolhandLFC

Actually, Benayoun is one of the most underrated Liverpool performers of the last several years in my opinion. Would like to see him back. When he left and we brought in Cole last summer I thought the move would be a push. Turns out it was far from that.

He is a definate target mate.. I always thought he was a good player..

Cheers

Macca

Maybe explains why the No 15 shirt has been left vacant? Just a thought

Red G

Didnt like yossis comments,when he d left.however,dont cut nose off,ild say.yossi can change games,if fit

10 Aug 2011 15:29:00
Funny how Macca now has resorted to saying Enrique will be coming after saying no Lb will be signed, and Kenny doesn't rate Enrique,

I believe Macca said Kenny is the only 1 that rates him.

Prelen

Things change in football mate all the time used ta live torres once that changed
rigg 10

I dont sign the players mate, i believe Kenny rates him. I also believe they have obviously played the game very well negotiating the fee down to something more manageable rather than what they where quoted originally..

Cheers

Macca

I did say last week that it would be agreed by 5pm Today and hey presto.
Hulkman

In all honesty Macca did say that Liverpool won't be signing a LB. I also heard this and the reason was because a deal wasn't seen as "viable" something I have said alot this window because clubs are trying to extort our prices. Newcastle quoted us £15m so obviously there wasn't any other players Kenny wanted so we waited, got other targets and came back for Enrique at a time of crisis for Newcastle. Simple.

Donnypool

Macca actually stated that Kenny wanted him it was damien who didnt learn to read

Big G
YNWA

He can read just can't coprehend what he reads?

There is a difference you know?

10 Aug 2011 15:29:09
Liverpool are set to sign Ivory Coast youngster Victorien Angban, according to France Football.

10 Aug 2011 15:16:00
dont have a go at me but do u think we will sign anyone else for example enrique,bains,dann,cahill and maybe even adam johnson? {Ed009's Note - why would I have a go at you? As I have always said, there is a fair chance we will sign Enrique and perhaps one of Cahill and Dann.}

Ed009 - Yes you have said that many times but how close are we to doing the deals ? We could really do with them for the Sunderland game. Time is ticking away now
Raks

I'd love ta see bains in the liverpool red he is quality an if were going to spend more money its better to get quality then someone to fill a gap (enrique)

Enrique is not expandable form

He won't be filling gaps

He play for Liverpool for 5 years and then Robinson will take over, Enrique is better than a lot of folks here think he is

Like offensive player also

Somebody else suggested Liverpool was interested in Gago and got pissed on for doing it?

10 Aug 2011 14:50:14
So guys, what happened to all those comments last week that Enrique would be done by Wendesday ( today ). Still no sniff of any developemnts. I doubt we will get anyone in by the weekend now, what is your thoughts Eds on anyone coming in soon ?
Raks {Ed002's Note - It is impossible to accurately propose timescales that are meaningful.}

Rumor has it that we have offered him £50k/w and he has turned it down. I myself am glad that we are trying to stop the silly wages.

Enrique wants 80k wages and LFC have offered him new contract but not the 80k that hes demanding. Its up to Enrique now to take it or leave it.

Agree,v disappointing.and concerning.why tell us more to come?however we have got till endve august.but agree would want them in for 1st game.doesnt look likely now

10 Aug 2011 14:46:41
Here are the latest bits of news for you..

Enrique has agreed terms and fee with Newcastle the deal will be announced when they find a replacement..

It will be either Cahill or Dann..

Also the surprise player returning is Benayoun if he can agree an exit stratedgy with Chelsea..

Cheers

Macca {Ed009's Note - Before anyone asks; this is the genuine Macca.}

Well id be happy there with that, yossi is a good player, good in tite spots , lil trickster, enrique n cahill, lets get these deals done
ron ros balls

Thanks for the info mate dont think benayoun coming back would be great tho..

RobLFC

Good to see you back, Macca
YoungRed

Hey was just wondering when you say cahill or dann do you mean that we will sign one of them or that newcastle will? soz if its a stupid question :/ {Ed009's Note - He means that we will. It wasn't a stupid question, I had to read it twice too.}

I hope so thats great news; yossi was a brilliant player for liverpool. how likely is it tho macca that he will be able to agree an exit strategy with chelsea? cheers mate

I Can't see Benayoun returning to Liverpool Macca sorry.

LFC#1

Macca, Gers fan here mate....any truth in the rumours that there are 2 Liverpool players at Ibrox today for the McCoisty meet/greet tour/negotiations with possible loan deals on the cards?? Ger4life

Thanks Macca, hope it gets completed soon.

Prelen

Sorry Macca, I don't doubt you for a second but are you saying that Newcastle are going to sign either Cahill or Dann as a replacement for LFC-bound Enrique?
Thanks for bringing us the updates. {Ed009's Note - He meant they are the options for Liverpool, hence the new paragraph.}

Should never have sold yossi he can make something out of nothing, u think there is a possible strategy chelsea would allow?also u heard anymore about offloading poulson ect.cheers 4 the posts mate

2xboo

Good to hear from you macca this is exciting news. Glad to know lb and cb is getting sorted i will be happy with either cahill or dann, prob more cahill and news about yossi is great he is very clever and will be great morale boost to the club to get him back

Would love to see Benayoun return.

redinthehead.

Thanks Macca, appreciated.

Never liked Benayoun does this mean Meireles and Aquaman are going. Looks like a poor replacement to play centre.

Benayoun's against the FSG youth policy isn't he?

PITSILFC

Great news Macca :) Enrique is a good buy. Cahill or Dann also. And the possuble return of Yossi. Keep up the good work Macca and Ed's.

Rob YNWA

Maaca - as a percentage, how sure are you with the Enrique and Dann/Cahill deals coming to completion ?
Raks

Seeing Macca's name at the bottom of a post brightens my day :)
SHOTGUN The Kop

I was really disappointed that Yossi left last year, he always put in a decent performance wherever he was asked to play. TBH I thought him being fit for Chelsea would re-ignite Torres as they often played well together at Liverpool. Do you have any idea what sort of fee could be involved Macca as we sold him for a ridiculously low £5.5m last season. Hope this rumour is true.

As for Enrique Macca, you said previously that only Kenny rated him, and Comolli and Clarke didn't. As well as that he wanted a lot of money too. Which area has changed the most, Comolli and Clarke's opinions or Enrique's demands? If the scenario was as you said, I think this shows Kenny is in charge even though Comolli is DoF.

As for Dann and Cahill, I think most people would be happy with either signing.

Keep up the good work Macca

RedSG

Macca you said no left back til january - what has changed?

How can yossi the winger possibly be a replacement fir aqualani or meireles? We have enough central midfielders and yossi would be bought as a winger

Hi ed, is macca saying we (liverpool have agreed terms with Newcastle? sorry finding it hard to understand thanks a lot
Nelly {Ed002's Note - I assume he is saying that Liverpool have agreed a fee with Newcastle.}

I don't care whether this is the real Maca or a plastic replica I can't see Yossi coming back.He jumped he wasn't pushed out of the club and as so many others point out FSG don't believe in the philosophy of signing 30 something players.

The fact we sold yossi after his best season for L'pool was very strange

Yossi strengthens our flair factor

Ed do u reckon we'll get yossi back {Ed002's Note - Chelsea would not have any problem selling him, so it is possible. I must say that I am not aware of any interest.}

Why would we want Yossi back. Has he not just spent his time at CFC injured? Are you all crazy?

I don't believe it - who said that?

I hope yossi is not returning he was never good enough for a red shirt.

I don't believe we will sign Dann or Cahill either, although it would be great if we did?

BTW poulsen is not leaving he has said he hopes to form a partnership with Adam in the centre of the Liverpool midfield. Clearly a case of a player on too much money who will not move no matter what?

Koptalk broke the news first if i remember.

Thanks Ed002
Still not to sure about Macca, but who knows, only people on here that I fully trust are Ed001, Ed002, Im warming to Ed009 thanks for all your help guys, I really appreciate what you's do for us.

I dont see the sense in getting yossi for me that's going backwards?

Thanks for the information Macca, may I ask why Benayoun is being drafted in? To replace who? Aquilani? I thought we had too many midfielders. We have Henderson for the right and Joe Cole, Maxi and Downing can all handle the wings. Can I get any information Ed's? Appreciated

RenegadeRed

Don't worry about poulsen he'll be a boot cleaner till jan then he'll be crying to get out
he'll never stand on the same field as adam unless he's the new water boy IMO he'd be to slow ta be a water boy

What are the chances of the enrique deal being sorted in time for him to make the sunderland game? macca or eds

G-Doo

Why Yossi, Macca?
He is 30+ years old, he don't fit FSG's criteria and we have so many midfields in squad.

Mala_REDS

Hi
Is it wise to bring in another central midf? This mean we have or are close a deal offloading one or more in this position?
Btw only have good memories of Yossi.
//Sanju

I think it was Tony Barret who said it's 100% true a former player still playing is coming back and if it is yossi then great Find it hard to believe but these things do happen

Yossi ? believe it when I see it.
CR

The ex player returning to the club is Stan Staunton who is coming back in a coaching role.

To be honest, I can't really see a starting place for Benayoun. Having paid £16m for Henderson I can only see him as a useful bench-warmer. Yes, he's creative at times and yes, he's got bags of experience but, to me, it doesn't seem to make much sense to bring back a player who was hardly a legend, is the wrong age and spent most of last season injured.
OK if we lose Meireles, Aquilani, Poulsen and Pacheco. Then we'll need a bit more padding and Yossi could be useful but we shouldn't pay more than £2.5-3m and not too much on wages for a player who "jumped ship".
ANFIELDPETE

Good to see macca back, honestly cant see yossi coming back but we need defenders and we need some pace in the back four not sure if any of the three defenders mentioned have pace posibbley cahill but would be happy if either signed. Can macca maybe onfrm the yossi situation him being 30 and fsg youth policy? thanks
DCG

Sorry for the confusion, i meant that we will try and sign either Dann or Cahill, the general consensus is that we will get the one that does not go to Arsenal..

Cheers

Macca

Yossi was a great little player for Liverpool and not afraid to get stuck in. If he comes back thats a very shrewd short term signing untill we get into the Champions League.
As for signings, timescales etc you just cant predict for a various reasons. You have the fee, insurance, fitting in with the team, image rights, the local environment, agent fees the list goes on.
What i can say is that Macca is not far off in most cases. i cant personally post any rumours.
But all i can say, is that we are heading in the right direction.
So give the lad a break
Adg7

Any chance of us sending Coal back
to Chelski in a swap deal for Yossi?

Yossi is a class, tricky player, and i would love him back at lfc.

Just read a report that Liverpool are back in for the 24 year old Hamburg forward Eljero Elia. Apparently Juventus have been linked with him but have only offered half of the asking price like they did with Aquilani. I think that he would be a great buy and a great back up striker for a cheap price. What u reckon the chances of getting him are Ed?? {Ed009's Note - I am not so sure, but the player is primarily a winger.}

What is the report on

If he is a winger then would he not be ideal?

Class player who cud become world class under KK.

If it's the Elia I'm thinking of then he's on a par with Ryan Babel except, unlike Babel, he's primarily a winger. But, like Babel, he's a bit lazy and inconsistent.
ANFIELDPETE

Hamburg management do not want to sell him
Frank Arnesen mentioned earlier is not for sale

Juventus have offered 7 million euro according to RTL4 (Dutch commercial channel).

ed can you please explain how the teams like man utd and chelsea and even us are still spending like crazy with the fair play rule in place? {Ed002's Note - The implications of the FFP rules do not come in for another three years, although the first years worth of data is taken from June 1 this year. If by the time the rules are operational, clubs are able to show that they are moving in the right direction then that'll be fine.}

ED002

Could you please explain what you mean when you say from the original post

". . . moving in the Right direction they will be fine"?

Will these new Fairplay Rules stop the sheik spending money like it was going out of fashion? {Ed002's Note - Well what it means is that if over the next three years the clubs can show that they are spending less each year and broadly meeting the rules in three years time everyone will be happy.}

Hence why we need a bigger anfield=revenue(or 2nd choice by far-new stadia)and to fk joe anderson off

Hi Eds, first time poster. Great site.
Am I reading too much into these posts but do you think there is any chance of Sneijder joining LFC? If Inter want Merieles, and the possibility of Aqua being used somehow as trade bait also?
I believe he would compliment the side brilliantly {Ed002's Note - There is no chance of Sneijder joining Liverpool. Sorry.}

Much as I liked rafa I think we had a huge opp to get sneijder and/ or van der vaart when Alonso went. We wanted cash- they wanted to trade. Whether they wanted to come was another matter but considering what they sold for (total of around 30 mil) it seems plausible it could have happened. I said this at the time numerous times on other sites... Guess hindsight is a great thing

Would love,and could raise cash.but dont see it happening sadly

I want Wesley Dammit

Very impressive signing for Atlético Madrid confirmed yesterday: Galatasaray winger Arda Turan for €12m. What a bargain, gutted would of loved to see him play for us.

WB

On the contrary I saw him play against a poor Liverpool team in the Galatassary friendly and he didn't stand out. He's a good player in an average league, I don't think he would be any better than what we currently have. Worse yet he could be a flop. We can't afford these mistakes anymore, at least we know the latest signings can hack it in the Premier League. I'd rather Raheem Sterling play a few games instead

I would love to see Raheem Sterling play too. Hopefully he will take his chance when it comes. I just hope he does'nt end up being shipped out like all our other Hot Prospects. I agree he did not stand out against us which I thought was odd as he wanted a move here so this was his chance to impress. But that game aside he is a very good player and at 12mil euros I think if he didnt adapt to our game or our style of play we still would of recouped our money back so in my eyes not such a big gamble. But at the end of the day KK did'nt want him and I have faith in Kenny so what ever his vision is i'm behind him 100%

Spain, sunshine, Champions league, wonder what he sees in Atletico?

Another gets awaybargain also

Dont worry its just a smoke screen Turan will be Liverpool player come January aswell as Agureo

RED END

Hello eds, Previously we were suggested that a left back might not be bought this window and may consider our options next window. BUt since enrique rumours and newcastle interest in erik pieters could u suggest that we are looking at left back for this window. I think we must since glen is injured and we are short of cover and vulnerable. Pls reply Thanks
Abhyuday {Ed002's Note - If a LB is bought it is likely that Enrique will to the fore of those considered, but there is no "done deal" just yet.}

10 Aug 2011 12:56:47
All summer transfer deals are now done. Kenny will look to Robinson for cover at left back and keep Ngog. The only potential high profile departure will be Aquilani. The situation will be reassessed on an ongoing basis with a view to further purchases in the January transfer window.

Is that an assertion by you or fact?
What's it based on ?
It suggests we are happy to keep all the squad as well then

I think that BS and I hope its BS

Steve g said there not finished buy yet

Hope to god your wrong,mr.negative

ED02 are Arsenal in advanced talk to sign Scott Dann? {Ed002's Note - "Advanced talks" is always a slightly strange term for folks to use. As we have discussed previously, I suspect Arsenal and Liverpool will each buy one of Dann, Cahill and Mertesacker. Both sides have an interest in Dann and both sides will know what they need to do to allow Birmingham to agree for the player or his representatives to enter talks. For now, that is where we are.}

10 Aug 2011 12:40:05
Have heard from a reliable source that Robbie Keane is coming back, Kenny thinks he'd be good cover for Suarez and that Rafa didn't give him a fair chance, playing him alongside The Spaniard was never going to work coz he played better on his own on the season he did well.

I think he'd be a good signing, with the right system he'd be worth the 10-15 goals we hopd for last year {Ed009's Note - he will not be joining.}

The season before he joined Liverpool, he did not play on his own. He played with Berbatov.

TSP

That's like playing on your own - big, lazy oaf.

10 Aug 2011 12:33:27
Harry Kewell is on his way back picking up rumours if you check his wife's facebook ....on Pay as you play , no chance of Robbie Keen as he fell out with Kenny Dalglish after he had Rafa by the scruff of the Neck against everton

Whats that about Keane & Rafa aand Everton?

Ridiculous..... enough said

LFCmonkey

Harry Kewell on pay as you play? Well we won' t have to spend much there then other than doctors and physio fees.

Who had Rafa by the scruff of the neck? What went on?

Noone had anyone by neck... Robbie didn't last because of his own indiscretions’ it had nothing to do with Rafa.

Irish RED

Who? What? Where? When? Have just dreamt that?

He did Have him by the neck coz he said to rafa he was use to first team football and rafa said well now youre at Liverpool a bigger club

Who says he Rafa by the scruff?

He had 'Arry by the scruff of the neck when we played against Tottenham last year. He must make a habit of it.

Hmmmm.

How's he coming back? In an ambulance or on a stretcher?

In his time at lfc he scored the sum total of about 9 goals, which given his wages cost us something like 1mil per goal. lets bring him back....never

Rubbish he's staying in australia

9 goals in your first half season is good but i wouldnt hav either of them back

Robbie Keane and the way he might grab you by the neck

I'ad rather have Sally O'Brien grabbing me by the neck

Who the f**k comes up with this rubbish,must be off your rocket

Of your rocker mate, not rocket

hi ed,
probbably you dont remember but i
informed you before they happened
lamela,stekelenburg and krkic to roma and
even the details of krkic deal, now i would
like to ask you if you have the same info
on your favourite left vargas that liverpool
are going to put an offer of 15m euros.
thanks MALTA {Ed009's Note - I don't I am afraid, I have heard nothing of the sort. It is, I suppose, possible though and wouldn't be a bad buy, though I think he is far better on the left wing.}

10 Aug 2011 11:55:29
hey ed any info on mertesaker?would love to see him in liverpool jersey..
sanket {Ed002's Note - No news, I suspect Dann is still favourite.}

10 Aug 2011 11:54:33
Eds, do you know what happened to the signing of Marco Bueno? The 17 year old Mexican striker? {Ed002's Note - The signing was subject to a 10 day trial and the trial was due when he was fit. It should be around now.}

Hes guna sign a 5 year deal

10 Aug 2011 11:25:53
yossi on his way back trust me

Hope not - he's not very good and this move would be a step backwards.

Chelsea are prepared to use midfielder Yossi Benayoun as bait in their attempt to prise Luka Modric from Tottenham.
Full story: Daily Mail

A step backwards for him coz Chelsea is a bigger club

Would take him back at drop of a hat. Great player. Chelsea are far from a bigger club than liverpool.

Why do you still let people who clearly aren't Liverpool fans post here? I know a few may slip through and I know you say lfc fans are worst culprits but surely you could just ignore them. Personally I don't understand why any fan is going on any pages but their own.

Chelsea are tramps , no class no european cup, SMALL

CHELSEA BIGGER CLUB? HAHA....NO

Chelsea hav no history at al compared to reds...u cnt say they are bigger than us by just watchin few recent seasons..liverpool is huge than chelsea though chelsea is fine too

Maybe Yossi has bought an LFC season ticket.

Since he's a thirtysomething and in view of FSG policy of buying younger players I'll say NO CHANCE of him coming back.

Anfielder1

Agree with Anfielder1. But a fully fit on song Bennynoon would grace any side in the Prem.

I never seen Yossi play well fook me I must be living on another planet?

hey ed any update on cissoko?..looked bang on at sum tym? n better option then enrique..
any if we get mertesaker wat price would it be?
sanket {Ed002's Note - Cissokho has patched things up with Garde and OL, but I am not so sure the fans are happy with him. However, I suspect he will stay in Lyon now.}

10 Aug 2011 11:06:23
Turan signed for A Madrid.

Now please let it go people.

This team will challenge for top honors this season, just believe in them and give them a chance

Sorry but l'pool will do well to finish top 6 this season

10 Aug 2011 10:50:37
hi ed these are the names that have showed up quite a bit plz plz could you tell us the chance of these happening out of 10??
dann
park chu young
enrique
barton
m.sissoko
cahill
mertersacker {Ed002's Note - Refer to earlier answers. PCY remains a 6.}

10 Aug 2011 10:47:45
Hi eds the enripue deal has gone quiet. Do u still think he'll sign? Id prefer kk to spend the money on sum1 else. Also do u think poulsen will be sold this transfer window? If so, who to? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any deal for Enrique I am afraid. If a LB is bought he remains the most likely - but deal? No. We know Liverpool have let Poulsen speak to other clubs and I suspect there are on-going discussions about how to ease him out of the club. Perhaps he will be made available on a free transfer if nobody wishes to buy him?}

See koptalk....looks like enrique is coming after all {Ed009's Note - Oh well if fat Dunc says so.}

Honestly cannot understand why fans are so naive as to believe Koptalk.

10 Aug 2011 09:57:10
I am very surprised that there are not more teams interested in wesley to me he is miles ahead of luka and nasri and same kind of player plus 33m is not that much for him although wages are high.
On same point ed002 will inter look to aqua or raul to replace him.any info you have on that.

Red indian {Ed002's Note - Interestingly, I think you may have picked up on something here with regards to Raul Meireles. I have been informed that there is interest from Inter Milan at around 14M euro. As for Aquilani, we know that AC Milan, Juventus and, still, Fiorentina remain in the picture. Whilst Aquilani and Liverpool would prefer a permanent move, a loan to buy is still an option.}

"£33 mill [ and it could be higher ] is not that much" Well maybe for Man City but certainly way too expensive for us and most other EPL clubs.Then add on his reputed £200,000 a week wages and in fact he is BLOODY expensive

I'd be disgusted if we sell Meireles to Inter and as such make it easier for them to let Sneijder go to the Mancs... :/

10 Aug 2011 10:20:45
I have heard Bolton are very very close to signing Ngog for £3m, Cahill is not part of the deal. Dann & Enrique are still Liverpool's prime targets and no fee has been agreed for Enrique as yet. I expect Liverpool will sign them both for around £15m. Ayala will sign for Swansea or Hull for 750k, but that is pretty much a given.

Uncle Malcolm (aka Sydney!)

Ayala is gone dude......... proves how much u know lol {Ed002's Note - Ayala has not gone yet. I suspect he is considering his options. Clearly Norwich and Swansea can offer him more than Hull, but he is closer to Hull after his loan. It seems you perhaps owe Uncle Malcolm an apology.}

No apology?? Rude idiot... Didn't leave a name either.

10 Aug 2011 10:03:44
Hey ed, what is the latest with Ayala? Have Swansea come in with a rival offer, or are negotiations just taking time between Hull and Ayala?

DownUnderRed.

{Ed006's Note - I think Swansea are looking to sign the player as well as Hull City. It is a shame really as he looked a top player at one point. I can't see him been with us next season.}

I really think we should insert a Barcelona style buy back clause in his contract to buy him back at a fixed price in two years. He's a classy defender this kid and probably the best central defensive header we've got. I think with regular football, he'll come on leaps and bounds.

10 Aug 2011 09:53:19
ed whar r r chances of dann,cahill higuain,mertesacker,gago,hulk falcao,parker enrique {Ed002's Note - 7, 4, 1, 3, 1, 0, 1, 2, 6}

Falcao gago hulk and higuain will not be moving to liverpool i wish all this fantasy football would stop..we are as a club and team moving forward and the hard work will start to pay off slowly,we simply cannot sign any player we choose,forget about pie in the sky signings and look forward to the players we have got and a positive season

10 Aug 2011 09:20:31
Well, that is another target we've missed out on.....Real have just signed Argentine 7 year old wonder kid Leonel Angel Coira. Come on KK and DC , what are you playing at
Iggypop

I understand FSG's policy is to build for the future, but 7 years old?
Little young to be in our first team, don't you think?
And there are millions like him, and some are already in our academy.

PITSILFC

Hi ed's, I thought all funny/ rediculas rumours got posted on the banter page......I'm assuming this is a joke, right?

Some people have little or no sense of humour...or sense at all for that matter
Milamber

Haha Nice post (oh where's peoples sence of humor by the way) lol

I can't understand how we've missed him -we've been watching him for the last eight years

And you know he was a target because? {Ed002's Note - Naive post of the day.}

We have a better player in our academy - my son.

Seriously folks does anyone know if you can legally sign a 7 year old onto a team's books in England? Just curious

"{Ed002's Note - Naive post of the day.}"

Why thank you, it's an honour to be patronised by you, sometimes Poe's Law rears its head and it's hard to tell the difference between sarcasm and genuine fan fervour, but do you honestly have to act like such a condescending old fart all the time to those asking questions?

{Ed002's Note - Actually I thought I had been pretty good with those asking questions - but yet again you start on the anonymous abuse of pretty much anyone who will read your drivel. You certainly take the prize for the most stupid fan with your "And you know he was a target because?" quip. But still, the anonymous moronic post is something we have gotten used to.}

That's the Ed002 we all love And less of the old fart, Ed002 is still a desirable Lady.

They can sign when they are 8 or 9 for 1 year only. this is only to stop them from also training at another academy for that year. each year they have to resign until they sign schoolboy terms etc
Hulkman

NIce one Really laughable. {Ed009's Note - It was so clearly a joke its unbelievable.}

I'm shocked we didn't sign him because he he would the perfect replacement for Raheem Sterling and he could really benefit from his experience.

Where we really in for coira?but note youe overall frustrations on quality missed,and agree.apparent dawdeling doing me head in

A few days ago I checked on the players in the official LFC website and Aquilani had been given the number 97 shirt. Today i checked again and he doesn't have a shirt number now. Could this be a sign that he's about to leave soon? {Ed002's Note - I would not read too much in to it.}

He is going to be wearing the no.15 shirt this season..

I also noticed Insua was given no. 99. Any word on if that is a offical number or just precautionary in case he is still there?

They all seemed to have their proper numbers against Valencia (ie. Kelly had his #34 instead of the #2 he wore in the Far East) and Aqua had #15. So I assume that's his real number now.

"They all seemed to have their proper numbers against Valencia (ie. Kelly had his #34 instead of the #2 he wore in the Far East) and Aqua had #15. So I assume that's his real number now."

Thank you for emphasizing my earlier post, the first post, that he has a NUMBER..

I would imagine the number 15 is a contingency plan. He has been given #99, #98 and #97 on the club website at various points over the last two months, with the numbers then being removed.

I doubt he will have his number officially placed on the club website until September 1 arrives and he is still here.

10 Aug 2011 07:28:47
Ed would it be fair to say Liverpool and arsenal will get one each of Dann and Cahill ?

Currently do you still think Dann looks most likely for LFC ?
I like Dann I think he would be a good addition for us (LFC) and I think he would become an even better player if the move was to happen, he would play with more passion and pride, the only thing that worries me is his injury history, it may be a risk to sign another injury prone defender.

Aussie red {Ed029's Note - If I had to choose which one is the most likely I would say Dann is probably most likely to come to us and Cahill to Arsenal. There is definitely a chance this could happen but a lot can change as the end of the transfer window approaches}

Regardless of legitimacy, I've heard a rumour suggesting that not only have we baulked at the transfer fee Bolton want, but at the player's wages also. I can only theorise as to what he wants, but It seems the wages Cahill are looking for have shocked both ourselves and Arsenal.

10 Aug 2011 06:57:45
Hi Eds Do yous think theres any chance the game will be called off on saturday with all this violence? {Ed029's Note - Sadly I think there is a good chance it could be called off unless the police regain control from today onwards. Policing a game and the city itself at the same time could be a stretch too far}

I think calling the game off would be a last resort. It would send out a message that the thugs had beaten the city. Also remember that the trouble is nearly all night time and the chances of it kicking off mid afternoon when there are 40,000 football fans most of which would help the police are very limited.

Bob {Ed002's Note - The problem is Bob that the police may not have the staff to support the games and therefore there remains the chance that they will be called off.}

Personally think the game could work to our advantage as the maybe suarez will be ready to play.

In liverpool the riots have been happening in the night and early hours so how will it affect the staffing of the police?? the game kicks off at 3pm. {Ed002's Note - Should be no problem then. And it would give the police time for a bit of shopping in the morning and perhaps a couple of pints in the early evening as well.}

DON'T SAY THAT ED TRAVELLING OVER SATURDAY MORNING CLINGING ON TO THE HOPE THAT IT HAS BEEN FAIRLY LOCALISED IN LIVERPOOL COMPARED TO OTHER PARTS

Ha, right. The rioters will all be asleep during game time because they're clearly all nocturnal Seriously guys, are you that blinkered to believe that if the police presence in the street was noticeably lax because of a football match none of these people would see that as something of an opportunity to riot during the day? Now I see why some of you thought aguero and now Sneijder are reasonable targets: you live in a fantasy land.

Get the tear gas and water cannons out,and get some order back.Ive waited far too long this misserable summer for football to be back.And for a few mindless idiots to be causing a bit of a stir,is no excuse,to call anything off.Police get some backbone. {Ed009's Note - before you slander the police, you should remember: (a) it is not there place to decide what tools they use. I am sure many of them would love to use water cannons and (b) last night they began to use rubber bullets and dogs, laying into the thugs. I think they are doing their level best.}

Hope not,ferrel w***ers.pc brigade caused this S*it.no discipline.too many immigrants.viva footy {Ed001's Note - this is nothing to do with immigrants, this is spoilt brats who have had everything handed to them on a plate and have never had to face the consequences of their actions. This is the result of parents who give them no discipline and allow them to run wild day after day and night after night. The parents are as much to blame for this as the kids and all of them should be in the dock facing charges alongside their brats.}

10 Aug 2011 03:25:44
Ed , i heard from the news that Park Chu-Young gave up Rennes and Bordeaux to go to Liverpool do you think that we will get him? {Ed029's Note - I think a striker still isn't a priority. If we get a CB and perhaps a LB and a few move on there is a possibility}

10 Aug 2011 00:19:53
