Quedtion for the eds or anyone else that might be in the know. I think my soul is at ease with the little fella staying now and I'm buzzing! Do we know of any other legit possible targets that could join? I'm hearing ox (still not sure how i feel about that one) luan, obvs VVD and Keita seems be back on the scene but don't think there's any legs in them right now, well maybe VVD! Is there anyone were genuinely looking at making a bid for?

Believable3 Unbelievable4

{Ed025's Note - so pipco is staying then uggers?..that is a complete guess on your part mate..

10 Aug 2017 21:12:20
I'd say more of a hope and a prayer buddy. In all fairness tho I can't see it happening now unless Barcelona come back and just say here's the 222m we got for neymar or something else daft. There's a bit to much at stake with him going. Evertime I do feel alright about it tho you make me worry again. You playing with my emotions or you know something we all don't?

Agree1 Disagree5

10 Aug 2017 22:10:50
I know being a blue you'd love to see him go Ed but even you must admit it's looking unlikely now. I just can't see him agitating for it and we won't let him go unless we get Keita perhaps. I'm quite calm about it really I don't think he'll go and the owners have shown they won't let him go unless we have a replacement. Uggers I'm with you mate 👍.

Agree5 Disagree2

{Ed025's Note - im a massive couts fan ings and your wrong i dont want him to go to barca...i want him to go to united mate.. :)

10 Aug 2017 22:49:31
Yes ings I'm staying strong with you brother! Eds low blow with the Couts to Utd jibe tho jeezus!

Agree6 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 23:02:25
You would Ed you are their feeder club after all.

Agree7 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i just really like couts and would like to see him win things mate, and lets be honest he will have a better chance of achieving that at united than at liverpool ings...FACT..

10 Aug 2017 23:17:22
Hang on Ed I think we must be talking about a different United. Did you mean Colchester? Or Oxford perhaps? I was talking about Man Utd, you know those overpaid muppets that finished 6th last season and helped 70,000 insomniacs finally get some sleep once a week.

Agree6 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - they have bought well ings and i expect them to finish higher than liverpool mate..

10 Aug 2017 23:23:59
Haha well Benitez if that was the case I think Utd would be the wrong club (granted they won the Europa) but look at their league form since Fergie left it has been woeful and that ish a FACT and it pains me to say that because laughing to hard hurts my sides :)

Agree6 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 23:29:24
As I said Ed you would, Everton fans are pretty much United fans really. When players sign for Everton they really hope that one day they might be able to play for Utd's first team ;-)

Agree5 Disagree2

{Ed025's Note - i think all players think the same ings, they are after all the most successful club in english history and play good stuff as well, like it or not everyone is a closet united fan mate..

10 Aug 2017 23:39:47
ed025 got no friends.

Agree6 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - loads mate as it happens and a lot of them liverpudlians...did i tell you i work as a nowegian tourist guide..

10 Aug 2017 23:46:23
The most successful club in English history is Liverpool mate. They might have more league titles but the big one? Well we've only gone and won it 5 times! On a serious note the fact that you said Utd play good stuff makes me question your ability to be an ed! ED1 when is his next appraisal? I suggest extra Ed training might be needed.

Agree6 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - won it 5 times yada yada yada blah blah blah, the last one was the biggest fiddle in world sport ings, plus you should never have been in it in the first place as you never won your league..its supposed to be a champions trophy i thought..

11 Aug 2017 00:04:33
Not many on this site Ed.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats because you are all bitter mate..

11 Aug 2017 00:34:48
In fairness, not a hope utd start september with a better first 11 than us.

Agree2 Disagree3

11 Aug 2017 00:46:11
It is what it is ed and we've won it 5 times. I just thank the lord I was born a red not a blue otherwise I'd be bitterly looking for reasons to dismiss any success Liverpool have had whilst secretly supporting Man Utd! I however have had the unbridled joy of my team winning the biggest prize in European football 5 times and you can not imagine the feeling when your captain lifts that trophy. If we never win it again I'm glad I've had that and let's be honest it's something that you will never experience. I feel sad for you for that.

Agree8 Disagree0

11 Aug 2017 00:46:27
To be fair John I don't think anyone has many friends on this site. I know I don't know anybody on here. or do I? :)

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2017 00:48:26
Utd getting matic worries me. a lot. they almost have the perfect mou team. still have crap CB's but they have everything else. and not like I can really talk with the state of ours haha. fingers crossed we can pull in some new talent and keep coutinho.

Agree2 Disagree5

11 Aug 2017 01:26:20
Ed25 saying we are bitter from the people's bitter club themselves, you can't make laughter's like that up nowadays.

Agree3 Disagree0

11 Aug 2017 02:40:34
Bro signing some one doesn't worries me untill they prove their worth i mean woth how much city and psg hav spent they should win evrything. and yes it will hurt us a lot but if Barcelona bidnsometng lik 125m pound we should sell coutinho. let's remember every player is replacable.

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Aug 2017 02:45:31
I can't work out if you're joking scyven? Their fbs are crap as well as cbs. They have a good gk and St and decent cm, apart from that average. Also just sold their best player to Everton, Just to soothe jose's ego. Matic ain't that good at all. Give me Hendo ALL day.

Agree3 Disagree1

11 Aug 2017 03:14:11
Also I don't think uggers first post is a total guess. It is probably based on the fact that even though Barcelona were willing to make coutinio the most expensive player in premiership history, we turned em down. To paraphrase my favourite ever comment on this site. "Jog on barca" effing brilliant. I'm sorry I can't reference my source, you know who you are. (Loved it) I too am pretty relaxed about it. I think it's pretty clear that unless we see most of neymar cash, klopp isn't selling. That is called "win win" situation.

Agree2 Disagree1

11 Aug 2017 04:57:10
United played some of the worst football in the league at times last season and looked truly dreadful first half against Real Madrid last week, a game they lost. They did however with trophies and thus more successful. However, with the amount of money spent of players and salaries. Utd should do MUCH better. I think they'll struggle for top 4 this season. The midfield is so slow.

Agree5 Disagree1

11 Aug 2017 00:21:04
Just barely.

Are united one of the 5 Elite clubs

Who are allowed to wear the ultimate club badge of distiction.

Are they one of the few clubs in Europe allowed to Keep the Eoropean champions trophy as a symbol of merit.

Didn't think so.

When any of your clubs can answer yes to any of the above questions then we may listen.

The only reason Utd have 1 more cup or title is by having sold their footballing soul and principles to the Special one bus parking company.

Agree3 Disagree1

11 Aug 2017 01:02:11
Haha Ed25 you're on fire mate. to be fair to you, you're right and Utd have been the more successful club of late. The problem is that was all down to Fergie and now that he's gone they're playing complete tripe again and trying to buy back the glory days by overspending on individuals without any team ethic.

It's a bit like your fugly cousin won the lottery, married well for a bit, but now the marriage is over they've started to blow the money on hookers and gone back to being a divi ;)

Agree4 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - im not a mourinho fan at all zimbo hes a complete arse mate..

11 Aug 2017 02:34:57
U had a easy path to europa last year than us sp if u r thinking that as a big achievement hahaha. we even lost sakho who was an imp part of our defense. while you played against teenagers we played against sevilla. and also we haven't paid 89m for dancing mulumbu😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2017 02:40:13
Ed I admire you opinions most of the time. But to imply liverpool winning CL in 05 was a con and a fluke is BS mate. Why it was a con I do not know? We beat em fair and square. And we were in the very same final 2 yrs later. Ergo = European force.
The final in Istanbul was one of the best televised games ever and I'm afraid as an Everton fan you will never experience what it felt like that night. Magic, pure magic.

Foot note. Utd have been rubbish since fergie left. It's the same every year now "I think they might win it this year" Rubbish. They play boring Jose football. We play exciting total football and we were FAR better than them last year. Why do you think they'll do any better this season? Lukaku? Rather have zlatan all day. They don't have anyone who could clean Phil coutinio's boots. And neither do Everton I'm afraid.

Agree4 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - its all about opinions mate..

11 Aug 2017 03:00:04
Apologies ed25. Just protective is all mate. Everton could do okay this year, maybe.

On the liverpool 5th European cup = I doubt any CL winner has done so without getting a decision go their way. We played many games and many minutes and ultimately stevie g lifted the trophy. End of, anything else is academic bordering on bitterness.

Do you ever argue that England never really won the world cup? Or do you feel proud and sing "thirty years of hurt, never stopped me dreaming"? Food for thought.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - never apologize for backing your own club superred, all is fair in love and war and football mate..

11 Aug 2017 08:47:48
ManU will finish top4 this season I rekon. Chelsea to repeat, ManU, I think we can snip 3rd and then a dog fight between spurs, arsenal and city for 4th.

since the great Man U, ovetook EU heavyweights, Nottingham Forest, Benfica, Inter etc to win it for a third time, were each of those wins following domestic titles, Ed025? i'd be surprised mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - probably not dom but im old school mate and believe that the champions trophy should be contested by only the champions of their respective leagues mate..

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Aug 2017 20:53:18
I think if he did train with the first team with everything that's gone on and been said it would be all over the news by now dude.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Aug 2017 00:05:05
100% he trained with 1st team, dunno how quickly that would come out in the news - mate was at training ground, taking photos with Forster, Davis, Bertrand and I think hesketh, saints will announce a new partnership deal tomorrow afternoon, due at 1pm - romeu disrupted Photoshoot by pulling up in his rangey and honking his horn - not made this up! It doesn't confirm anything and makes sense he still trains but passing on because got the info and know its absolutely true.

10 Aug 2017 14:37:32
How true is the interest in Luan? Heard we was interested at the beginning of the window and apparently he didn't want to leave, but now he is looking for a move and Liverpool are readying a bid.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

10 Aug 2017 14:54:51
How do you ready a bid?
Plug in the fax machine and wait for it to reach optimal temperature?

Agree11 Disagree3

10 Aug 2017 15:02:40
I believe Ed said it's not out of the question but not highly likely. This in a response to a general question around some of the old targets. outside chance only.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 15:03:51
I think you buy some ''BidReady' mix and add water and just leave to set.

Agree6 Disagree2

10 Aug 2017 16:09:43
You must put the bid in it's finest clothes, polish it's shoes and make it a packed lunch.

Agree2 Disagree1

10 Aug 2017 16:57:09
In order for a bid to be accepted you must:
1: Dress it up as well as you can (especially if it is designed to take the p! $$ out of selling club
2: Tell the world and his wife you are making a bid in order to keep your own fans happy
3: Tell parties agent that they will receive massive waste for the transfer- instruct them to get it done
4: Get the papyrus and fountain pen out as apparently all this electronic tech is too much for the oldsters at the FA
5: Have the Babbelcopter at the ready
6: Inform press of when photoshoot os going to be

All the above are mandatory

At some point, those of a disillusioned persuasion may actually speak to the other club to enquire about talking to the player- this is optional.

I see rumours of luan doing the rounds again I assume it's recycled news.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I may have mentioned something a couple of days ago.}

10 Aug 2017 13:56:49
Ed002 mentions the name Luan in a response a couple of days ago and before long the rest of the internet catches up.

That's why i trust this site.

Either other journos have seen Ed's post and copied it, or Ed002 was first to reveal it.

Either way, this is the site to trust.

I'd rather give our academy players a chance, if he's half decent he'll be off to Barcelona in a yr or 2.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 20:03:00
yes. he is very slow has a poor touch and is nowhere near as good as our current back ups.

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Aug 2017 20:52:08
Liverpool have a knack of unearthing brilliant strikers. Don't know much about luan but clips look fantastic. I hope this rumour is true. I know we have a lot of strikers but.

Sturridge is injury stricken. He can't kick a ball without hurting himself.
Origi is not yet at a level where we can rely on him totally. Not good enough YET to be our number one.
Solanke looks great and I hope he starts a lot this year. Think how good he will be in two/ three years if he gets the experience to go with his obvious class. He is not there yet though.
Ings is unfit and out of action. No way he can be our number one.
That leaves firminio. Brilliant player BEHIND the main striker. A great striker in his own right but not clinical enough to be our main striker. Not a 20+ guy and if he was we would lose the creativity he brings.

That's it then. I think sturridge was the big hope this year and let's hope he shakes off this latest niggle.

If not, where does that leave us? I think bringing in a young, well rated, Brazilian striker would be great for morale of fans and players alike (especially pc) and ease the pressure that will surely be placed on origi and solanke at times this year. It's not like we're skint. Go for it klopp. Why not?

Agree2 Disagree4

11 Aug 2017 01:05:47
We should sign that Aspas guy from Spain, he's phenomenal.

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 11:40:19
After the club rejected this latest offer from Barcelona, and after Phillipe and his agent have courted them for a year, have we come to the point where PC is going to have to hand in a transfer request to get it done? It would appear to me that's where it may be headed.

Believable4 Unbelievable15

10 Aug 2017 12:06:11
The figures are getting ridiculous. To put this into context the main stand and surrounding stadium work £115m the price to develop anfield road £60-£70m. Given our well reported financial problems on here, what is best? If keita was to come then the plan would have been to sell PC, do the sums, with Salah mana and bobby it's to attacking. a more combative middle with bobby behind sturridge or solanke makes more sense.

Agree3 Disagree18

10 Aug 2017 12:21:58
I don't think we must sell to buy right now. Our expenditure on transfers has been good the last two years.

Added with the fact that we finished higher in the league this year, enabling us to get more competition money, as well that we will earn more by being in the champions league. And not to mention the premier league TV deal.

Through all these factors I think we are able to buy VVD and Keita without selling Pipco. We just need to lower expectations for Sakho, Markovic, Moreno and anyone else who we are intending to sell.

Agree14 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 12:42:02
Getting Mo Salah, Solanke and Andy Robertson for around £50 million is excellent business. If we can sell Sakho and Markovic for say £35million even better.
Hopefully there'll be plenty left in the pot for Keita and Van Dijk . 😀.

Agree12 Disagree1

10 Aug 2017 13:43:31
Even in this inflated market there is absolutely no way that we will get anything close to 35 million for Sakho and Markovic.

Agree4 Disagree5

10 Aug 2017 14:25:49
I don't think 20 for Sakho and 10 for Marko is that crazy?

In fact I think if we had been more reasonable with Stoke we may have got something around that for Sakho.

Perhaps a loan to buy is the best we can hope for now.

Agree4 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 14:36:52
I doubt he will hand in a TR. He is too good and loyal. It's shame we never won anything with him and this piss poor defense means we won't anything!

And YES they are looking at houses today.

First time poster, long time reader.

Eds, with both Macca and other posters confirming Keita (his reps) is house hunting in Liverpool, would this be for a move this year or anticipation of next?

I'd assume some type of contract is already in place for him to be house hunting already? There were rumors that RB accepted an offer and is just saving face now (hard to believe) but can see Keita agreeing a pre contract bringing him in next July.

Thanks for the site and any direction!

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - If Liverpool has agreed a "pre-contract" with the player of any type they will without doubt be charged by FIFA.}

10 Aug 2017 13:36:23
Ed002 - Touce'

So I'm guessing this would just be in anticipation of a possible move next year. Seems weird though, with so much that could happen between now and then - hense why I assumed the pre contract.

Thanks,

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I can't answer anything about folks looking at houses in Liverpool I am afraid.}

10 Aug 2017 15:04:27
Rbl stringing out deAl for free publicity. It makes sense they are a commercial brand. Think deal was always going to happen they told us to up our second offer to 66 and he's ours. They knocked us back and klopp laughed. The eds have played it brilliantly, playing their own part in this transfer by not allowing us to yap on about kieta on here for weeks. Actively deleting the word "kieta" and since then the papers lost interest and rbl were no longer getting any publicity for free. Now with few weeks left, and rumours of gomez, lanzini could've worried rbl who may have lost their man for 48 mil if not for liverpool sale this summer. They have re ignited saga by admitting the clause exists. Well played eds!

Agree2 Disagree5

10 Aug 2017 15:47:33
Well said Superred spot on, exactly what I thought.
The eds do a lot more than just find out info and keep this site running and people don’t understand everything they actually do.

Blocking Keita posts seemed to have been a very clever thing to shut the papers up and dim RB's spotlight moment. No more milking for publicity.
And either sell for 66mil now or 50?mil next summer. Any business would take the extra 16+ mil any day no matter how rich they are.

Agree1 Disagree6

10 Aug 2017 16:37:14
Red Phil I think the vast majority of people would agree that if we were to get top dollar for couts now or sell him next year for a little less we would want to keep keep him. So why wouldn't rbl feel the same about Keita?

Agree3 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 18:56:16
I would imagine because Coutinho would increase our revenue due to a higher league finish and better CL performance. Additionally the extra year training with Woodburn et al would increase their abilities and, perhaps, negate the need for an expensive replacement.
I doubt RBL would have as much to gain from holding on 1 more year.
Do people actually believe he would be worth less next season?

Agree1 Disagree1

10 Aug 2017 20:46:37

Its a long commute but Red Bull does gives you wings.

YNWA.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - nice one der..

10 Aug 2017 20:48:29
And you don't think RBL would want to hang on to Keita to try ensure they qualify for the CL again next year? Or maybe hope to even beat Bayern to the title or do a sort of Leicester and win the CL. They'd have a much better chance at all of those things if they keep Keita and they'd be a much more attractive prospect to new players under any of those circumstances.
Even the maths works out. £40m for CL qualification they'd lose if Keita left. Or lose out on £10m if he stays for an extra year and goes for his buyout clause.

CL Qualification is worth less for German clubs than English clubs. Their gain would be closer to 20m.
They should finish top 4 anyway and have a far greater chance of buying a replacement than Liverpool do.

Swishcleaner - Coutinho isn’t even in his prime yet, his Value will only increase so your question is void 😜

And RBL will still finish top 4 like christos said. Losing Keita isn’t going to change that. If they lost Keita and Timo they would probably still finish top 4.

(Sorry Eds sent last 1 before adding this, if you can merge them that'll be great thanks 😃 (the LFC rejecting €100mil) )

The board were open to the offer and willing to cash in but Klopp has stamped his foot down and told them no. For the first time in as long as I can remember, a LFC manager actually has power and influence over potential outgoings woo.

can’t find my other post which was meant to be first half, probably failed to submit it properly sorry so will comment it here.
We apparently rejected a €100mil bid test day evening for Coutinho from Barca. (Now read OP xD)

Not sure I believe that FSG would be open to selling Cou as we don't need the money hence, FSG would not need to overrule Klopp except of course, the like the money which I doubt. Eds, can you confirm this?

{Ed002's Note - I cannot confirm something you are speculating about.}

BR usually our managers don’t need overruling as they rarely have any say in the matter (if big names/ fees)
You say we don’t need the money but Eds don’t we still have some debt?
We all know they wouldn’t put 100% back into the transfer kitty.
Luckily Klopp seems to have power though. We won’t know for sure if FSG would have taken it or not (unless they admit it) because Klopp has said NO to the deal 😄.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, the club is carrying a lot of debt but the income has increased significantly from television revenue.}

#Red_phil, has Klopp say No! and in face expression when he shout at touch line? lol 😁.

Thought so Ed2 thanks for clarifying, and true the amount of income has increased significantly but Klopp seems to want to use it all on NK an VVD so FSG would want to bite Barcelona hands for the money.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - It really doesn't work like that.}

If Klopp was to walk and it's a hypothetical if (I don't believe he would) . Would that mean him walking out on any payout of any kind.

{Ed002's Note - We have no interest in discussing money.}

If FSG don't need to sell, and everything so far this window says money is there to buy without having to sell, then why would they need to annoy the manager they wanted by selling? Is it perhaps a case of they asked Klopp what he wanted and he said don't sell so they said no?
