Is there any reason we wouldn't keep him as keeper 3 eds? Is there bad blood there, or is he pushing for a move for minutes or is he just that bad? Just curious as he seemed a ready made solution to Adrian instead of resigning him.

Sorry, should have been clearer, more meant was it ever considered it could go Alisson > Kelleher > Karius as the third keeper with some experience.

Seems like that's is his level without moving to a side not challenging the top of the tables.

Kelleher should be number two and Adrian number three. Kelleher is a very good keeper. Karius needs to move for his own career.

Maybe they can get some size 22 shoes and a red nose, his juggling act ain't so hot.
It's best for all if he goes, it doesn't look like he has any long term prospects here.

The worst thing would be to be unable to sell or loan him out. And then not register him as a member of the squad, because of our HG complications, and the fact that Alisson, Kelleher, Adrian and Pitakuga are ahead of him. Paying a salary without him being able to play football for us is the ultimate fail.

In fairness to him he’s never recovered from that Champions League final. We need to set a value as low as possible to attract interest. The player himself also needs to be realistic in his expectations as he’s not going to go and play at a top club.,

Our midfield is fine, even without Gini. I'd rather wait a season to get Bellingham or Gravenberch.
Thiago, Hendo, Fab, Milner as options for a midfield pivot.
Elliot, Jones, Ox and Naby as options for advanced midfield options.

Its the forward line that needs another addition at the expense of Shaq and Origi.

We harp on about new signings like our lives depend on it, yet our coaching set up is that good, it is highly likely that one of Elliot, Taki, Ox or Naby will step up and do the business this season.
Regarding the new contract (or not) situation, the knock on effect will be to sort the wheat from the chaff. Ox, Bobby, Naby and Hendo are playing for a new contract, which should motivate them all to do their absolute best.

Indian, Milner as a midfield “pivot” just doesn’t work. He’s not for the tactical acumen or ability.

As for Naby stepping up, in the words of Judge Smales out of Caddyshack “WELL, WE’RE WAITING”.

People knock Wijnaldum and say he won’t be missed, but I think he will, if only for his reliability. If he was such a bad player there wouldn’t have been such a queue for his services.
