Some sites says a bid for Benteke has been accepted by Liverpool. 22m£?!?! Sounds expensive. Is it true eds? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable16 Unbelievable96

Yep it's true, Benteke's agent told me down the local chippy, he ordered a savaloy, chip butty and a pickled onion if you don't believe I see him

Agree2 Disagree1

Which websites. Sounds total BS either from poster or sites.
More I think about it less I think he would b good buy for us.
Daniellambretta

Agree2 Disagree1

Villa won't be happy with Liverpool accepting bids for one of there players.

Agree7 Disagree0

I think it'd be great if Villa gave us 22m to take Benteke.

Agree5 Disagree0

That was my though. They give us 22m and Benteke. Trade of the millenium.

Hi eds.
I've been reading posts and a player came up who I have always liked. Luis Gusavo. Is he a target and if so would we be favourites to sign him?
Cheers {Ed002's Note - No and No. He wants to stay at Bayern Munich but they would like to see him move on.}

Believable8 Unbelievable21

Know how he feels, poor guy.

Papadopoulos will be signed yay!. £16m-£17m

BR was holding out for Mkhitaryan but well that didn't happen.

Believable20 Unbelievable87

Papadopoulos is still in Greece. Schalke do not know when he will be ready to play again

Agree1 Disagree0

No connection between the deals at all, unless you see Papadopoulos playing up front!

Agree2 Disagree0

Oh right that will fill the void papa playing attacking mid, great business lol

Agree1 Disagree0

He's in Greece still out injured

Agree1 Disagree0

Yey! What are you talking about?!?

Agree1 Disagree0

The Greek is with the Schalke squad in pre-season training. I'm only judging this on the many photos available online from that training camp. I don't have any reason to suggest that he will be fit to start the season but he is definitely doing fitness training. Ball work I can't say.

Agree0 Disagree0

I fail to see how the deals are related. Do you also think Mingolet was brought in to replace Suarez?

Suso is joining Almeria on loan for next season to gain experience.

Believable83 Unbelievable10

Experience of playing in Spain, perfect?

Agree4 Disagree0

Really don't understand Liverpool at times, Suso should of been loaned to either an Epl or Championship side so he can get use to the physical side of the game in England, just hope he don't end up like Dani Pacheco a very good player but never made it and is constantly loaned out to Spain.

Agree6 Disagree2

Good luck Suso

Agree2 Disagree0

He wouldn't get a game every week in the PL. Better to get games at senior level for a season. Good move for me.

Agree1 Disagree0

Worked for Coutinho has it not Big D?

Agree1 Disagree0

I think this is a bad sign. Suso showed so much promise and he should be in the squad where he will be a big part of the side. He has so much to offer.
Stirling is the one that should be loaned out. He was overhyped and never looked the player he was spoken to be. He would gain a lot from playing more, but Suso going on loan to Almeria sounds like a homesick lad paving the way to a Spanish return with a big club.

Agree2 Disagree4

I agree with BigD Suso should have been loaned in the uk, as in spain its a totally different ball game. I for one would have kept him as he can produce when playing centre mid not wasted out wide! Furthermore, it is not as if we have the biggest squad full of quality that we can loan out suso! Does not make sense, certainly with the purchases made so far i'm not convinced at all we will be top 4 or even close!

Agree0 Disagree1

Maybe the loan to a club in Spain in to match our style of play? A style teams here don't use. Experience in a top league should do him good, as it did for Coutinho. I hope he comes back and is used in the first team, big fan of the player.

Agree2 Disagree0

Why, Shocking if their loaning him out, he is good enough to integrate with rest of team and proved it last season. Did the sae with Pacheco. Just disgraceful the way Liverpool deal with young players

Agree0 Disagree0

It seems everytime we loan a player abroad he's forgotten about and never makes a successful return. Can't think of any examples. Should've beenloaned to pl team or not at all. Jayo

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope we keep him in our squad .he needs p l experience and is ready for it .ant

Agree0 Disagree0

Story all over the papers tonight so not really news .
Only way this makes any sense to me is that the LFC management don't see him making it here - else why not loan him to a championship side for example .
Doesn't look too encouraging for fans of this promising young player - and doesn't exactly bode well for our youth set up .Depressing

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe he just wants him to be playing at a club who play a similar style of football? There's no point on him playing at a club whose style is completely different to ours.

Agree0 Disagree0

Any experience has to be good experience doesn't it. Not playing every week at LFC helps no one.

makes me laugh how you all think you know more about a player you only see in pictures and the odd game on tv. don't ya think brendan knows what he's doing (some one who sees him every day in training!?)

i admit I want him to stay and try out in the first team more but if lfc want to loan him out for EXPERIENCE and GROWING then that's obviously the best option!

stop critcising and support you muppets!

Hi Eds,

Is there any interest in Paulo Dybala of Palermo from Liverpool or any English club? {Ed002's Note - Not right now.}

Believable3 Unbelievable25

Ed002 media are reporting that we are going to bid for Bernard now that we have missed out on mkhitaryan? is this true? {Ed002's Note - I don't know of interest.}

Believable19 Unbelievable26

That would be superb

Agree0 Disagree0

Bernard is also only-part owned by Atletico Mineiro. This makes it harder for an English club to sign him as England is only one of a few countries where part-ownership is banned. I think he will sign for Porto, personally.

Agree2 Disagree0

Lad looks like he has talent. Reminds me of Coutinho. Would be a wonderful adition.

Agree0 Disagree1

Eds, do you expect us to go for him? {Ed002's Note - See above.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The only Bernard Liverpool will be signing is " Bernard's watch " not going to happen am sorry to say.

intitiwetrust

Agree1 Disagree0

Press in Brazil saying that he will only decide his future once Atletico are out of the Libertadores (which could be as soon as tonight). And that there were 3 clubs actively pursuing - Dortmund, Spurs and Porto. Dortmund and Spurs have dropped their interest due to signing Micky and Paulinho respectively leaving Porto to get a clear run. Bernard apparently spoke to Hulk about Porto whilst together for the Selecao and Hulk was very positive about the club. Atletico have apparently received a bid of EU20m but are holding out for EU25m.
Can't see LFC beating Porto to him under the circumstances.

I tried the search function (honesty) any real interest from Liverpool for Brazilian Bernard?

Believable24 Unbelievable22

Obviously didn't try very hard because I've just typed the name in and guess what? Loads of comments came up.
Obviously need reading lessons.

Agree1 Disagree0

When we sell Suarez, we should buy Bernard and play him LW, move Coutinho to CAM, Sanchez RW and Sturridge CF, with the sale of Suarez we would be able to afford both Bernard and Sanchez neither 1 be unrealistic

Agree0 Disagree1

Bernard wouldn't get in the team straight off. He is very young!

Agree0 Disagree1

What about Aspas and Alberto?

Agree5 Disagree1

Not going to happen lads sorry, he's off to italy

Agree0 Disagree0

Wait a minute Bernard won't get in our team straight away but he plays for Brazil that's some twisted logic

plus he is not to young he is 20 years of age not to young in my eyes he seems a lot younger because he is 5ft 4.

we have to sell to buy now. Downing (WHU, Villa, Sunderland), Coates (Italy likely destination) and Henderson (Everton, West Brom and Norwich) ALL available and expected combined income generated in the region of 22m which will be re-invested on a CB, LB and DM. Suarez will not join another PL team. If he stays with us and the above 3 are not shifted, our business will be concluded until January. The pot is empty.

inthered

Believable23 Unbelievable106

Thanks for the info Mr.Henry.

Agree1 Disagree0

How is the pot empty? We’ve sold AC £15.5m, Shelvey £5m. Bought Aspas £7.7, Alberto £6m, Mignolet £9m, Toure Free (say £2m sign on)
So what you saying? Our whole summer budget to get into top four was £5m??
Carlo

Agree5 Disagree0

Why do people talk so much rubbish - how the hell do you know ' the pot is empty '?
And there is absolutely no way Henderson is available, and the combined income of the other 2 mentioned would be a minimum of £16 million.

Agree1 Disagree0

So we didn't bid for Mkhitaryan! We have hardly spent much considering Carroll and Shelvey have moved on.

Agree1 Disagree0

Henderson will not be leaving.

Agree3 Disagree0

Henderson is going nowhere

Agree3 Disagree1

Pot is empty, don't be silly. We are far from finished.

Agree1 Disagree1

Why do we have to sell to buy now? Was there no transfer kitty for next season?
We have already gained 25 -28 million in player sales which we have spent on the new players.
Are the owners not going to put a dime extra in funds for new season and still think we will make progress?

Rambowich

Agree2 Disagree0

So where was the money for Mkhitaryan coming from then? We matched Dortmunds offer. How did we do that if the pot was empty?
Chunk

Agree0 Disagree1

Thats a load of rubbish, we were clearly willing to spend +20 mil on Mkhitaryan.

Agree0 Disagree1

So funny listening to some people on here, Liverpool have money available to spend, we have recouped over £20M in sales so far with more expected to leave, and have brought in a little over £24M of players, As Rodgers said in his interview recently, we are looking to add 1 defender & 1 attacking player at least and will replace people who leave. Also cannot believe some of you want to sell Henderson i'm not in the know at all but i'm pretty confident in saying he will not be sold, also i'm excited about Aspas as he is a very good player and will be a big success at Liverpool.

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Jul 2013 16:59:09
What is the basis for this comment? The fact we didn't buy an expensive midfielder or the fact that we didn't bid for anyone of a number of overpriced players that some fans would like us to go for?

Net we have spent approx 3m after current player sales; are you insinuating that our "war chest" is now empty?

Besides we need to sell to get rid of some of the rubbish that hasn't been pulling its weight for the last few seasons

Jp

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha, don't dare include everton in the "henderson takers" no chance mate, we have far better players than he will ever be

Agree0 Disagree8

Selling Jordan Henderson would be one of the dumber moves we could make. Look at the stats from last season and he was as good as any mid in the EPL for the second half of the season. Great 2-way player, who's going nowhere!

Agree0 Disagree0

Henderson going nowhere. Already sold. And Suarez will add money

Agree0 Disagree1

To the obvious bitter above, are you talking about your new class signings such as kone and alcaraz? Yep, you have far better players. Once fellani leaves and Baines - both inevitable, you will be back where you belong. I'm grateful we didn't get roberto Martinez!

Ben

Agree1 Disagree0

Henderson is far to good for the bitters

Agree2 Disagree2

You win top prize for worst post of the month. downing, coates and henderson 22mill.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you people get so bored you just make things up?. have we suddenly splashed millions that I have missed?

We would have spent 20+m on HM so why do we need to sell in order to buy. In fact with the sale of Carrol and Shelvey we haven't spent nothing, seriously some of you need to use the brain god gave you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Downing to villa? The same villa who buy young unknown players with potential for small fees, not to mention all the fans who hate him because of how he left.
Henderson to Everton? Really?

Agree0 Disagree0

How were we going to fund £25 million for the guy from Shaktar then? Pot can't be empty!

Agree0 Disagree0

And how do you know this? that's right you dont

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do we have to sell to buy. Our net spend has been 1m.

Agree0 Disagree0

Henderson is with us for a long long time! quality player .ant

Hi Ed's. Has AC milan offered €4m for coates? Thanks

Ynwa {Ed002's Note - There is interest from Milan and Brazil - I don't have any details of an offer.}

Believable25 Unbelievable12

Liverpool will not sell him for that low of a fee, we should be looking for £4M - £6M for him, he is very highly rated bk in SA and is still young, I hoped we would loan him out to an epl team for the season before deciding what to do.

Agree0 Disagree2

We should be able to recoup what we paid for him. I think he will be a very good CB for a team that suits him better. We should sell him without a loss or loan him to Stoke and watch him appreciate in value. ;)

Agree2 Disagree0

It was a on the site. "News now" imo he would be better off at a prem side on loan, someone like west brom as Clark. Already knows him.

Ynwa

Agree0 Disagree0

BigD, I agree to an extent the fee is slightly low but I'd be thinking £4-5m. I don't see how we could loan him out when we're looking to purchase another CB we couldn't have him next year we'd have to sell someone else numbers wise and we can't wait a year for an extra £1-2m. I would Assaidi in the same boat, we want the cash now rather than loan and then cash as we can use the cash for our own targets.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he wants more first team football why would he move to Milan?

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt he will be sold - don't think anyone will offer enough to tempt us. Loan with a view to a permanent move most likely.

Kidder

Agree0 Disagree1

We'd accept £5m and use £4m to buy Tiago Ilori.

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah, get rid of our good defenders because Brendan doesn't think they make good strikers or wingers?

Papadopoulos will be a Liverpool player by the end of the month.BR has been notified that he will be fully fit to pass the medical by the end of the month following his injury otherwise BR will turn to other targets. The good thing is that Schalke's demands are no longer 20 mil. That's the news coming from Greece.
Tasos-YNWA

Believable33 Unbelievable47

Lets say your right, surely that spells the end for Skrtel and possibly Coates if as expected Ilori signs.

Agree1 Disagree0

BigD I believe by now you should have known Coates is a goner.

Agree1 Disagree0

Coates yes and Skrtel hasn't exactly been stable during last season.the reason why BR didn't sell him to Zenit on January is because he didn't have an alternative and he didn't trust Coates as a backup of Carragher

Agree0 Disagree0

I hear all the no loyalty crap aimed at LS, yet here's Skyrtel who has stayed loyal and up until last season was 1 of our better players. The guy has a blip and all the supposed fans want him sold for half the price of this injury prone Papadopolous who could be a 20m flop.

But its ok us fans not being loyal to players hey?

Hi

Tried the search function and could not find anything recent. Is there any news on younger players going out on loan? I expect Sterling to stay with us this season, but would be good for the likes of him, Wisdom, Suso, Ibe, Morgan etc. to be loaned out for their development.

Cheers
Rey {Ed022's Note - I'd say that Wisdom and Ibe will more than likely stay but I'm not so sure about Suso - for me he needs a season-long loan and I've heard of interest from La Liga, so that's one to watch out for.}

Believable21 Unbelievable2

10 Jul 2013 12:32:33
I agree with Ed0022 Suso needs a loan but he must stay in the epl, preferably Swansea, Villa, Southampton or Fulham.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the reply.

Agree on Suso, he showed last season he has talent but needs a regular run of games to start developing. Would be good to see Wisdom go to a lower end club too as I can't see him getting much game time this season.

Thanks

Ed002 which teams are inetrested in Benteke?

mickey. {Ed002's Note - Spurs have a sustained interest. I have prviously explained that Liverpool enquired. Chelsea very much have another clear target so, right now, interest is being overplayed in the press.}

Believable15 Unbelievable9

I think he would do well at either Spurs or Liverpool tbh, don't think Spurs will pay more than £15M and neither will Liverpool, but i'd imagine Liverpool would be prepared to offer £15M plus certain players, but problem is if he does sign for Liverpool than where does that leave Sturridge as he likes to play as ST .

Agree0 Disagree1

Would you mind saying who the chelsea target is right now? I understand if you don't want to.
Cheers anyway

Jackson {Ed002's Note - Try the Chelsea page.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I looked at the chelsea page and scrolled down a bit and didn't find much. saw various ed responses saying no for suarez, unlikely for benteke, one of them said he can't see rooney moving and the other questions were about yilmaz who would he very surprising. so any chance of repeating there big target?
may indirrectly effect Liverpool and hopefully may trigger sone more transfer action! thanks
