Rodgers wants Sturridge and Sigurdsson. Aquilani and Cole are staying for now. Maxi's future is unclear, Sessegnon would be his replacement.

If you're going to make stuff up, at least make it slightly believable.
Neither Roy nor Kenny could do anything useful with Aquilani at Anfield, despite him being one of our most useful looking players in the pre season games, and us being short of quality players.
For me, LFC should have either kept him to his contract and forced him to rot on the reserves bench for couple of seasons, or mutually severed the contract so we wouldn't have to pay most of his wages for the rest of the contract.
You can't blame a guy for wanting to be in his homeland, but the fact that LFC is still paying him to play for another club is outrageous.

I agree with what has been posted above. Aqua man situation should have been sorted ages ago. The way the italian clubs have behaved has been a joke. I wouldn't want him back at LFC. Get rid.

Gaz1975.

I thought that Maxi had already agreed a deal with Newells Old Boys. Although I could be wrong

Sessegnon is an awful player. He thinks he's the best.

Daniel Sturridge and Adam Johnson would certainly liven things up in attack.Both have a thing to prove to Woy as well, Maybe the motivation they need to join us and force there way back in the England team . ?

Guinnessred8

{Ed006's Note - If it was possible to get both it would be a real prospect. Having Carroll, Suarez, Downing, Johnson, Sturridge and Sterling would be very nice indeed. Wont happen though.}

Having Sturridge an Johnson wud make our team toooooooo English.

His name is roy, not woy ! get a life

Sturridge, please no

McSnuggles

Gosh who's the guy crying about a name who really needs to get a life?

Would have thought there would be a good chance of Adam Johnson particularly as Liverpool are prepared to meet his wages. This is from what I have gleamed from SSN. jOHNSON & SIGURSDON would be a good fit for our midfield and are now available

Pretty good England B team you will have. Ha

Another overpriced English player, that is good for his current club, what makes you think he won't be another Downing, Carroll or Henderson? Go and get someone like Affelay, 1/3 of Johnsons price and most likely on cheaper wages as well, also is just as good as him.

Sturridge would be like the second coming of Ryan Babel; another pacy wide-man who just gets his head down and legs it to the byline before hoofing the ball across to no-one in particular. Can't see him playing Rodgers game

More like England A team......woy has already shown he's using the england job to have a 2nd go at managing pool......any english players we bring in....he'll pick em! :)

Ha yeah thatd be great if playing for england was a mark of some sort of quality instead of the absolute mediocrity that it is, engand are s**tE

And why would they leave behind a champions league winning team and a premier league winning team ? so they can try for the carling cup. were not gona be gettin players lik that for a while , we'd be lucky to get diame and gylfi s

Errr, coz they can't get in those teams & are even less likely next season. Consequently, they missed out on playing at the Euros and probably think they're England careers are in jeopardy.

So, their alternative options are to move to Sunderland or Everton, neither of whom have European football to offer?

Are you sure you're an LFC supporter?

Why do people on this site keep having a go at fsg. They backed kenny to the tune of 105 million and he wasted it so if your going to blame anyone blame the kenny you deluded muppets not fsg who saved the club. FSG fully backed kenny and im sure if BR really wants a player they will back him too.

Many fans are "type 3", as Rodgers would put it, and will never approve of FSG regardless of what they do, and will never criticize Kenny, regardless of how much money he wasted or how low we finished in the league.

Some supporters like myself critisized KD when we thought it was necessary, but get facts right , his overall spend was just over £40M.

Bought the club for 300 m sold torres bought carroll and suarez with the 50 m 80 m stan chart deal bought adam downing henderson enrique coates bellamy for 57 m sold mereles for 7m i make that 30m up then comes the 300m kit deal so they are actually 30m in pocket and dont give me this agent and wage thing the club makes well enough on sales etc oh they did pay 40m debt out of pocket so if you want they have spent 10m mind you there is the sale of kuyt babel konchesky krygiakos ngog {Ed002's Note - This is why it is best not to mention any numbers to football fans - zero comprehension about finances at all.}

They've committed nothing much over and above what they've had in receipts and what they've saved in wages. The only difference between these guys and the old yonks is we are not having to sell players to help pay for them to buy the club.

That's irrelevant, they backed KK with money for the players he wanted. That also included flogging players, but players he didn't want. KK was fully backed by the owners.
They'll do the same for BR, but within sensible terms, so that wages are sensible, the books balance, and the club remains financially sound.

SCF27

Ed 002 run the costs down for us all then put me straight and most importantly make us happy were looking from the outside remember and had a terrible time with the other two cowboys we have right to be sceptic i love my club go to every game when we cross that line iam right behind them when were not cant see anything wrong with a maybe over critical opinion but one from the worried heart {Ed002's Note - Things you forgot: wages for players, wages for well over 100 staff, ground maintenance, policing of games, travel costs, legal fees, paying off managers, medical teams etc ..... It is not worth the effort of breaking everything down. The kit deal is over a number of years and worth less than you think. And so it goes on.}

These guys are not cowboys.They have done everything in a sensible business like manner so far and I am sure will continue to do so. They do not have the cash to waste like the Russian billionaires or the oil rich Arabs but I think most clubs would be delighted to have owners like them.
CR

I thought the merchandise sales and match day revenue would kill the brunt of that but ill take your word for it thankyou very much for the replys heres to the new season and hopefully a bright future one thing i do feel confident about is brenden comeon you mighty reds am i right in saying your a chelsea fan if so hope you win the cl again but 2nd behind us in pl fa and cc ill throw a little trip to the amsterdam arena in there aswell

That is the truest statement I have heard this year, Kenny blew the money not FSG, they trusted his judgement and his judgement was shockingly bad

I think they are no different to the last owners

We are where we are ,I`m not happy with owners or manager but we need to move on.But these so called fans calling other fans muppets and fsg are gods gift need to cop on and ed002 whatever the money works out at you know they didn`t spend 100 million on players.They have bought a club and they dont want to spend big money (fair enough)but without spending big we cant be classed as a top 4 team simple as.
I am thankfull they bought liverpool but i think the sooner they sell it on the better it will be for everybody.
I hope BR does well but i think he will be left to small budgets and he will have to make do thats why they got him.
Oh have we being linked to any up and coming young talent as promised by fsg yet? or is it free transfer time agian.
Eam

Why on earth do people keep saying we was given over 100 million...we wasnt FACT torres and raul fetched over 65 mil of that

Wow some fans are seriously naive! these guys have steadied the ship (not kenny as so many people like to say). They've backed the manager with money, which is what we begged for with the old owners, they've stayed quiet in the media and are trying to employ a long term strategy to benefit the club. They have not done anything wrong in my eyes and some fans need to stop blaming them for our problems. they inherited a number of problems, Kenny added to them, they are trying to address them. give them some credit.

When the club was up for sale what we
needed more than anything was
someone with deep pockets but we got
randy lerner mk2,i'll say it again for
the umpteenth time the only way we'll
catch up with the top teams is if the
standard of the top teams drops because
fsg are certainly not going to compete
financially and we'll still be having this
conversation in3years time.......

auntie annie....

The club has lost roughly ~100m over the last 2 years and brought in something like ~340m. Who do you think picks up the check for the ~100m?

Until LFC is close to profitable, it's pretty unrealistic to expect the owners to keep dumping 100s of millions into new players. Seems like a lot of people would prefer a random billionaire to be the owner who would just splash cash all over the club? Give the owners a break already, they're doing their bit.

RDL

To all those nay sayers about FSG you are very misguided. FSG are winners and have shown that by sacking King Kenny. In their eyes nobody is fireproof. If you're not winning your out, which is how it should be. Now to compare them to Hicks and Gillette is disgraceful as they were a pair of ice cream Yonkee doodle dandies who know nothing about sport. So I think you need to start looking at our owners with more intelligence!

They didnt save us we had a number of options to buy the club so if they didnt others were available.

I believe that the owners in some wayhave done well, as they have steadied tteh ship and balanced the books; however they did not invest huge amounts of money as a lot game from sales, and most importantly they did not invest time!!!! it would be close to impossible for a manager to take a team like the one kenny inherited and in that time with that budget turn into a top 4 team, in three years time we will realise the likes of caroll and henderson and coates are brilliant signings!!

I agree Kennys to blame, how could you spend that level of money on those players, it's madness. The premiership proven idea is a nonsense as well.

Kennys decisions on players development, appointments and signings will prove to be excellent. In fact they already are. Martin Kelly, Jordan Henderson, Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing all in the England squad including Glen Johnson and Steven Gerrard as captain. Daniel Agger captain of Denmark and so on. Steve Clarke....new WBA manager. FSG have been impatient, that's all. One thing that is absolutely certain about FSG is that we cannot believe anything that they say. Judge them by what they do.

Oh dear, oh dear. What is going on? People talking about hundreds of millions as if it were chip money. To toss statements about 100m around as if it were peanuts is ridiculous. The finances of a huge football club is a massive undertaking. The bottom line is that LFC made a loss of more than 300m last year as FSG continued to clear up the mess. LFC will get back to the top with hard work, good people and prudent and responsible housekeeping. FSG are totally committed to getting LFC back to where it belongs - at the top. I have nothing but admiration for what they have done in showing desire and leadership to our great club. BR is another great step and we will all see the results.

Agree. Love kenny to bits but spending 85m on Carroll,hendo,downing,Adam was a massive mistake. be lucky to get £35m for the lot now. I could see what he was trying to do build the backbone of the squad to be British. Kenny will always be a legend at anfield. YNWA Cocko

Give up mate people refuse to understand just how severe our situation was during h&g ownership. I don't how true the prospect of administration was but I a few reputable people noted we were close. People only see finances in terms of transfers and sponsorship, they either refuse or are too obtuse to accept other significant factors, the simplest being the shear cost wages contribute. They'll never change until we get some quick fix Arab and start bidding for messi. No appreciation for sound business practce and models, which lfc is at the moment

People that think ins = outs are quite simply naive. How much tax do you think was paid, how much was the agent fee, what was the sign on fee. The club don;t pocket that 50m at all

You live and die by your signings. Kenny bought the players he believed would move the club forward. Only Enrique turned out to be a good signing. Carrol showed a few sparks at the end of the season. Downing has done nothing. Henderson might come good but has done nothing. Adam hasn't delivered.

Those 4 players have taken the club backwards. We finished 8th behind a certain pub team.

The current owners can't compete with the likes of City or Chelsea. Simple as that. We need to be shrewd about players and get the right ones in.

We also need to expand Anfield or build a new stadium to bring money in. We should have done that in the 90s but Parry and co were too dim to realise that.

I think FSG have pumped in between £350m-£400m including the purchase of the club. Yes they have still probably got a slight bargain, but there is still a lot of work to do and all KD has done is postponed it by a year. Yes the net spend was £40m (approx), but KD still had and spent over £100m and he was the one who chose the players, yes they were mostly naff but nonetheless the owners still backed him.

I think people are getting worried about the lack of transfer activity compare to that of United, Chelsea etc, but IMO I think Liverpool are waiting to see what players become available. For example if City managed to sign Di Maria or Belhanda then Adam Johnson will become available or if City buy Benzema then Dzeko will become available so why rush out and buy someone else? I think you need to get behind the manager and the owners as it's not going to be a good season with restless fans.

Disney!

Lets face it FSG just do not have the money to compete with the chelsea's and city and utd. Even Arsenal look like they have more spending power. We should have sold to someone with deep pockets because without it we will achive nothing lets be honest. If we sign de jong city can go and sign Cavani there is no way to compete with them. Money talks and im afraid we have owners who do not have enough to win the title or even get in top 4.

Totally agree with those backing FSG. 18 months ago I worked close to people working with RBS and they were seriously close to pulling the plug. If that had happened we would have been relegated. There were only 2 serious bids on the table and the one from Asia did not stack up. FSG, the most creditable buyers, forked out £350m of there own cash and as has previously be said, people are talking about these sums as if its chicken feed.

Taking into account agents fees etc... they have pporbaly pumped in about £50 million more on players and they backed Dalglish last year to the hilt. Dalglish said he would treat the owners money as if it werer his own. Well looking at the players he brought in, I would not want to leave Kenny alone with my piggy bank that's for sure.

Football finances are in a perlous state and the sooner Liverpool is run as a proper business, the better.

Scouser Tommy

Blame the fans for wanting instant success. if carroll, hendo, downing, enrique, coates and bellers go on to have good anfield carreers then we have him to thank. he also introduces shelvey and sterling.

Eds what is happening with adam johnson, will liverpool sign him, he would fit in well at anfield, hes what liverpool needs after kuyt left, also any truth in dempsey arriving at anfield?

{Ed006's Note - Dempsey no, Johnson no.}

Hi ed's

Is it true that Diame has a heart condition? Doubt that he will sign for us if that is the case. {Ed002's Note - It is obviously not a big enough issue to stop him playing.}

Yes i heard they have to have a defib by the side of the pitch for him

Ed every time some arks you a bout a players all you ever say is no or i dont no ? it seem to me you lot dont no nothing {Ed002's Note - Seems to me that some ignorant brain dead rodent like you should have a little more respect for someone who makes the effort to write those nice long answers to inform you all. But hey, I appreciate the effort it takes to drag your knuckles off the floor and attempt to type anything. Thanks for sharing your views.}

Thanks for that reply ed002, loved it

To the reply who said "they have to have a defib at the side of the pitch" - that's not exclusively true for Diame.
Defibrillators should be at every sporting event, right down to grass roots football.

Regardless of profession, anyone with a known predisposed heart condition that puts them at risk of life threatening arrhythmia will have a prophylactic AICD (automated implantable cardiac defibrillator), like Muamba recently had.
Despite Muamba's extremely bad luck, screening for top level footballers is very thorough.

If Diame has any heart condition it's most likely it's a mild one, that obviously hasn't compromised his sporting career and isn't likely to be detrimental to his health.

Joe

Yes he does have a minor heart defect which does not stop him from playing or passing medicals. However as it was detected - for insurance reasons - there is a requirement that a defibrillator is available on the touchline.

Eds, any truth in that Daniel sturidge rumour , or is it just paper talk? I've used search function can't find a recent answer
Cheers
Neville {Ed002's Note - The concept of a move to Liverpool has been mentioned before and whilst there has not been an approach to Chelsea that I know of, the club would not stand in the way if the kid wanted to move and a reasonable deal was offered. Chelsea are going to bring in another striker and I guess the thought of game time must be something he is thinking about. We will see.}

So Ed, are u basically saying that this transfer is possible? {Ed002's Note - Sure. If Liverpool are interested and make an acceptable offer to Chelsea. If the player is interested and accepts the terms - then I am sure it can happen.}

Personally i think sturridge is very good and could become world class....but...and its a big but...i cannot see how he would fit with a pass and move game we are proposing. He can move but runs with his head down and often is selvish. However, if he can change his trend i think he will be one to watch in a couple of years

gareth

Thanks ed, keep up the good work
Cheers
Neville

He's british, he's young, he has an eye for goal and has the much needed pace that we lack, whats there not to like? Although 15 million is too much. {Ed001's Note - the fact that he has never passed the ball would be something to not like. The fact that he is not that good, that would also be something to not like. His wages being obscene for such an average overrated player would also be something not to like.}

One word assessment of Sturridge. "Awful!"

Samir Nasri has been rocked by news he's unwanted at Manchester City.

L'Equipe says Nasri has been told he is not in Roberto Mancini's plans at Manchester City, only a year after the Blues beat Manchester United to the signing of the France midfielder.

Nasri's availability will put Europe's biggest clubs on notice, including Tottenham and Liverpool.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is unlikely to move for Nasri, however, after being turned down by the former Arsenal man last summer.

Thought i should share, nasri would be a good acquisition, but at what price? What do you think Eds/Macca?

I'd pay any price to get him, he's a couple of steps up in quality than 95% of what we have

Would not be in my plans either. Poor season from the young money grabber.

Wouldn't get him and don't want him either

Liverpool & Spurs won't break their wage structure to sign him so forget about it.

Would there be any chance of a loan like what they did with adebayor last year

He is on £200,000 a week at City after tax! There is no way LFC will pay this amount. Money aside I would have him in the side. But I thought we were going in for Adam Johnson?

Just a headline i noticed, so thought i would share, maybe it is nasri we are after, and not johnson? Here in France the word is getting out that Nasri will leave city after euros.

Overated and his wage would be stupid amount! IMO he doesn't look or play like a LFC player...and his attitude?? Money obsessed without passion for the team?
No thanks
gareth

Who cares about nasri, the complete antithesis of a professional football player, money money money, it's all the majority of moder day players care about, they are sucking the life out of the game with their greed, let him rot

I can't see Mancini letting him go he was trying to sign him for a long time, even when he was manager at Inter. He rates him very highly.
Skurks

Don't know why you's are all saying Nasri is greedy, if you got offered £200,000 a week at work would you turn it down? I didn't think so, give the kid a break it's not up to him how much he gets paid Man City offered it and anyone would accept it. An he left Arsenal with no trophies and went to City and won the league in his first season, soaybe he did go to win trophies

Nasri won't be on £200k after tax that would be mental, even for City. All the same, no chance Spurs or Liverpool could come close to his current wage

Gav

Get rid of Cole and loan Nasri with a view to buy....win win.

Clearly made up! Nasri made 46 starts last season, scored 7 and made 11.

If he'd been bought and had had no impact (as happens to big money signings sometimes; Torres, Downing etc etc.) fair enough but he didn't!

City play 2 DM, 2 CAM, 2 ST with the front four being interchangeable. They regularly play Silva and Nasri together and don't really have a replacement for them (Johnston is uncomfortable as a CAM and Aguero/Tevez are lethal as strikers). Unless they sign another CAM I cannot in any way see them selling Nasri. Even if they sign another top CAM I would see that as allowing Silva, Nasri and another to rotate properly.

Also, £200 k p/w after tax would be approximately £300 k p/w gross which is too high. {Ed002's Note - Please don't keep including financial information - it is miles away from being correct and embarrassing.}

Did he just go for money?

I can understand a player going to Anzi or something yes, he's gone for money, but Man City had just won the FA and striving for Prem league and a good champs league run when he signed, Arsenal however were striving for 4th, and looked far from getting it at the start of the season.

It's like the RVP stories, if he goes to Man City it won't just be for money, it'll be for a much more chance of winning stuff too. Basically the ultimate win win for a footballer.

If I was playing for a team that hadn't won anything for 6 years, but finished 4th every time and paying me 80k a week, then offered a £150k a week to play with a team challanging to win everything...hmmm should I stay or should I go?

He proved it anyway, he went, and won the league in first season, and he was hardly a bit part player, he played in 45 games and 31 in the league.

Lavezzi agreed terms with psg. That's that rumour dealt with.

Maybe that will put an end to the Suarez talk

Also ends their interest in suarez

An absolute steal at 25m!

Cavani to real madrid and that one will be put to bed

Hi Eds,
A lot of Tottenham fans seem to be sure they'll be getting Luuk De Jong this transfer window.

Do you have inclination as to which team (Liverpool or Tottenham) he'd have a preference to join?

Thanks. {Ed002's Note - I don't know what his preference is, but other clubs are interested as well. De Jong will be one of those being watched this summer by a number of clubs from Italy, Germany and England. Interest has been shown by Dortmund, Liverpool, Lille and Newcastle over recent months but any waning interest from Newcastle has now been replaced by firm interest from both Spurs and Hamburg. It has been suggested to me that Lazio are looking to Luuk De Jong as a replacement for Tommaso Rocchi.}

A choice between liverpool and spurs both in the europa hold on a second LIVERPOOL.

As a spurs fan myself I can find nothing amongst the spurs sites regarding luuk de jong! most of the talk is regarding vertonghan, erikson, Lloris and a forward either remy or Llorente! thats all I can find.

what are the chances of getting Jovetic? i heard he may leave if there is a serious offern , why don't we go for him?young,creative would fit ! is aly cissokho has a tag price 9million pounds?and are we interested in him?
please reply editor {Ed002's Note - Arsenal did show previous interest in Jovetic, but Roma, Chelsea and Napoli remain interested if and when he becomes available if the price is acceptable. I am aware of what his agent has said he would like to move to Manchester United but Napoli seems a far more likely destination for Aly Cissokho.}

Hey eds, do we still have any interest in david texeira from groningen? In january we was linked massively,and he is a neat little player id love to see him link up with suarez.also any news on sigurdson and sturridge? {Ed002's Note - I have heard nothing of Texeira recently. There is interest in Sigurdsson and what appears right now to be speculation about Sturridge.}

All these rumours started when we signed the other young Texeira in January, I dont believe we have any interest or ever have had in this one. I may be wrong and the Ed's may know more but it appears to me people googled the name and footballer at the time and checked on the wrong person?
RNred {Ed002's Note - Perhaps, but only if they misspelt his name.}

Look on the liverpool reserve website an u will c the lads already playin fOr us {Ed002's Note - He is referring to the Groningen player.}

Ed do think maxi will see out his contract now that we have brought in Brendan Rodgers.Cheers.MATTYLFC {Ed002's Note - I suspect he will leave.}

Ed,I thought it was already agreed maxi going back to his boyhood club?.. Good work by the way. As you's DO NOT GET PAID! I'd like to say thanks for all the time all the eds put into the site.
Davey01 {Ed002's Note - Thanks Davey. There is every chance that Maxi will return to South America but there is no agreement yet.}

He's legendary though
and plays well with LS 7

Hello editors, one of you mentioned before a while that the chances of Affellay joining Liverpool is 0. I wonder, Barcelona wants to sell, he is valued very cheap, and he looks like the kind of player Rodgers would fancy to have him. why is that we have 0 chance of signing.

miccmak {Ed002's Note - Afellay has been out injured pretty much all of this season and I think future chances at Barcelona may be limited but the kid is keen to stay and Barcelona seem keen to have him as a squad player. However, I think it is still possible that he will be available in the summer and that Barcelona would listen to offers. Italy looks like one option available to him if he is sold and there may be interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle.}

He'd be a brilliant addition to Liverpool, he'd give us pace (which at the present time we lack), and he'd have a good link up play with Suarez. This boy is what we need, hes cheap. He had a storming game yesterday for Holland

FSG would never authorise a sale of player who has has just returned back from a serious injury so soon.

These arent the hicks/gillette days.

Muniain to liverpool any truth in this eds?
if true how much would he cost? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

Ed your are some use. Totally unconstructive. Are you employed as a Liverpool scout or do you just shoot down the 90% of idea's you choose to? {Ed005's Note - This question has been asked several times in the last year mate, countless times. It has been asked countless times in recent days and quite frankly it is frustrating editing 100s of posts on all pages without having to answer the same question over and over again.}

This is the real deal, We are to sign Luke de jong AND Sessyong and Carroll is moving back to Newcastle on loan with a view to buy

Anything that starts with ' this is the real deal' is NOT the real deal

The worrying part is if your the real deal is you cant even spell sessegnon i don't know what a sessyong is sort of sounds kinky tho any idea where i can get a sessyong from

Nice of you to post on here Mr David Dickinson

Apparently theres offers from Russia, Italy and Turkey for Glen Johnson - just wondering if he was a player BR would be willing to sell?

If he does sell Johnson what are the chances of us getting Piczeck from Dortmund?

LOL TURKEY AND ITALY?!
If he gets an amazing offer from Russia maybe but i think Spain is more realistic...

Martin Kelly is better than Piszczek.

I'd love Piczcek but if Johnson goes we can't not make Kelly first choice right back, the boy's class and is more than ready

I'd like to see van Der wiel sign or Kelly promoted if he does leave

Isn't Piszczek going to Real Madrid ?
And Kelly is no where near as good

He is not near as good he is far better lol.

You asked for our opinions and we gave them, mine was that I think you are full of BS...
If you don't like them you shouldn't ask for them.

just wondered if there was any more info of the potential move for luuk de jong as we could do with a good yound attacking option, and we have been linked with him in the media recently what do you think ed {Ed002's Note - There has been interest since last summer. There is nothing new at all.}

I doubt his price will rise after the euro's as he will not get a game ahead of RVP and hunterlaar

He might get a game if they both keep misfiring like last night that would be just our luck on comes de jong scores a hat trick to keep holland in the tournament then goes on to get the golden boot and to put the icing on the cake scores a brace in the final alerting the likes of real madrid and some of the other power houses of europe who have champions league leaving us no chance and all asking ourselves why we didnt move sooner or maybe im just been a miserable pessimistic old git lol

Just seen this posted on fb - Liverpool want Fernando Llorente & are ready to trigger the release clause (36 mil) in his contract [Spanish radio Cadena Ser] - totally against everything ive heard, eds is this bs or any truth to it? {Ed002's Note - Fernando Llorente is interesting Spurs, PSG and Manchester City with rumours of interest from Arsenal as well. Barcelona are considering their future options which may involve a move for the player.}

Yeah i didnt think we had much of a chance for him, thanks for the reply

Where have spurs got 36m to spend on 1 player no chance only way they would get him is selling luka and bale.

Hi eds. Please tell me the rumours about A.Johnson are not true? for 17mil we can get Narsingh and Affelay. if we are going to do the whole "over-priced english" thing again, we will fall even further. Thanks. your opinion would be appreciated. {Ed002's Note - I don't know if Liverpool will bid for Johnson or not - there are rumours but nothing confirmed.}

I don't think we should pay more than 10 million(at most) for Johnson

What you talking about adam johnson is class, english, & would also make us a stronger side, he destroyed liverpool early last year. really hope we get him.

Ye agree get Johnson in asap!! class act.

redinthehead

That's what I heard about Downing

The difference between Downing and AJ ones got it the others not .
Sell Downing pay the difference

Johnson is class. Real admirer. Pay the £££ Rodgers

I fear this is another Downing. There goes 17 million and 100k/wk down the tubes . . .

Hi Ed. Only found this site last week and I can safely say I'm addicted. My question any idea when we'll sign our first transfer? Gettin very anxious. Like d look of elm, L de Jong and siggurdson. Any ideas? {Ed002's Note - We cannot be expected to know the timing of events but such transfers cannot be completed before July 1.}

Elm isn't that good. sigurdsson is btter

Why the rush ?

How true I'm not sure but heard last night from an ex Swansea legend who knows a lot of Rodgers people that Liverpool enquired about sessengnon of Sunderland and not bendtner. Don't shoot the messenger though, could be a load of.

A liverbird upon my chest

Honestly hope so as i dont rate Bender at all sessengnon would be a fantastic addition to our team LFC

Sessegnon would be AWESOME!

Bendtner is actually an Arsenal player. Good source hey?!

RG

If Suarez were to leave, I could see the sense in that..
The Real KB

Hes 28 his best days are behind him

GET REAL

Just hitting his peak IMO ,well worth a punt

Downing was 27 didnt stop us paying 20mil

To be fair, i couldnt shoot you. You said Liverpool did not ask about Bendtner, how can i not be happy at this news? lol

hi eds ive seen this posted recently on another site, just wondered if you knbew or had heard anything? thanks p.s great site keep it up

"On Wiki it says: Alonso agreed a deal in June 2012 to move back to Anfield, with his former side Liverpool having a bid accepted by Real Madrid, reported to be around the £10 million mark. {Ed002's Note - It is not true.}

I wish!

Even Alonso will tell Madrid to reject the offer, 10m is a little insulting for Alonso's quality

10 million ahahah

"on wiki it says" - those 4 words remove any credibility from it

And you believe wiki because? i could put Messi signed for liverpool today- would you believe that as well?

Wikipedia also says Joey Barton is a footballer.

Ed16 you seem very sure we will not be going any where near D.Sturridge how can you be that sure can you share what you know thanks.

Deanalfie {Ed016's Note - Because it is a made up story.}

Ok then a made up story but how do you know it is a made up story I.e do you no Brendan rodgers and has B.R said that he dont want him or like him as a player or has the player him self said that he will not be leaving chelsea.?

I am friends with a few Chelsea fans and they are all desperate to see Sturridge go. He doesn't pass. Doesnt track back unless instructed and his goals to shots ratio is terrible. He would be over-priced and over-paid for his role at the club. < All of the previous point to the simple fact he would not suit Brendan Rodgers style of play. Hes not as good as he and people think!

That's your opinion I think he is a decent player young and will suit B.R play his movement is very good and he is very young and b.r can mould him to what he wants

Please take him off our hands,lazy sod !!

Man city tried to change him. If he was that good there wage packet would of been to suit him, and they wouldnt of let him go. Chelsea arent fond of him and he was rarely used under Di Matteo because of own selfish play. Rodgers has already said its going to take alot of hard work and Sturridge isntba hard worker!
I bet London to a brick he wont come to Liverpool!

Are Liverpool interested in Lewis Holtby eds? {Ed005's Note - No mate afraid not - especially as he's en Everton fan!!}

Being everton fan makes no difference! Jamie c!!!?

...and Rush, and Fowler, and MacManaman, and Owen, and McMahon. But that was back in the day when we were the club to be with if you wanted to win something. Perhaps the possibility of a successful career has always outweighed club loyalty, but the possibility of an Everton fan joining us right now is unrealistic. But who knows what the future may bring...

Carragher, fowler, macmanaman just to name a few..

Dunno about Gerrard but i have seen the pic of him in a blue kit when he was young.

No Gerrard's always been a red

hi eds... if Skrtel is gone, any chance to get Dedé from Vasco da Gamma? {Ed005's Note - There is always a chance but I'd suspect that we would go for someone closer to home and maybe a lot cheaper.}

Is Skrtel gone? {Ed002's Note - No. And there is zero chance of Dede.}

So in other words the owners have no money and are happy not to compete? If the owners think we can achieve top 4 with minimal investment then there must he something wrong {Ed002's Note - I have no idea how you figured out that the "owners have no money" because Dede is not moving to Liverpool. And the owners have invested very heavily in to the club and continue to do so.}

Ed 05 said that skertles replacement , if he does go , would be from closer to home , can you say who?. thanks steviep62 {Ed002's Note - No. I doubt that he had anyone in mind.}

I very much hope by closer to home your referring to Europe and not England as there isn't a single player that plays in the EPL, Championship or SPL that is available and of the right standard. anyway i think we don't need a CB unless it was someone that represents good value for money like raul albiol or dejan lovren.

we'd have Agger, Coates, Carragher (for one last season), Kelly and surely Sama is due to move up to the first team.

That's Agger as first choice

Coates as first choice

Carragher if and when we need him

Kelly if and when we need him

and Sama to allow the seniors to rest by taking Carling cup games.

Kjaer?

Hi eds, what do u and macca think are the chances of us signing munian this summer? I think if we signed him it wud show ambition to the rest of the country, wot do u guys think? Thanks {Ed005's Note - Very little chance in my opinion. But that's my opinion. I think if we get Sigurdsson we'll be well covered in the role Munian has played this season.}

Ed stop talking nonsense, Mountain is a winger, Sig is a Centre Attacking Mid in Gear mould. Two different positions!!..Btw we have a great chance of mountain but only if we show serious interest. It just depends on us offering him a decent wage packet. We know he wants first team soccer.....

He has more to offer than any one of our players that play in his role. Having enough cover doesn't cut it we need enough quality.

10 Jun 2012 03:58:22
Ed is it true that liverpool are plotting a 15mill bid for Daniel Sturridge? {Ed016's Note - No.}

10 Jun 2012 01:54:07
Alonso: "Rodgers gives me hope for Liverpool"
He loves the club and has said in the past if Liverpool come in for me in the future it will be hard to turn down.

Ed's do u think it's a possibility ?
Would suit Rodgers style imencely
Plz post in rumers! {Ed016's Note - I don't think this year mate}

Does his contract run out next summer?

Next year

Alonso will not be coming back. Get over it everyone!

Could see him having some part in Rodgers coaching set up in the future

10 Jun 2012 00:31:21
Newspapers reporting that we are after Danny Sturridge. £15 Mil. I personally don't want him, as he is a very selfish (but talented) player. What do you guys think?

Cheers! {Ed016's Note - Its not true. Can't stress that enough}

FSG should put the extra money down and get the finished article in Soldado, or some of the same ilk.

I pretty much typed this late yesterday night, that this rumour was a non starter as Chelski would want close to £15 million for him.

Now only 8 hrs later, i see this here. Luuk De Jong might be a better option if he is willing to take a big leap forward with a slight risk.

Chelsea supporter here in peace.

I wish you would take him , as do many many Chelsea supporters. He is selfish and is not prepared to put in that extra effort. Most of the goals he scored this year were tap ins and yes I know he had to be there but in truth Kalou would have scored them and he too is not of high enough standard
We have some quality younger players like Piazon who will fit in our squad better so please please take Sturridge

I think Luuk De Jong should just join Liverpool while has the chance because Fc Twente do NOT have Champions or europa league football and Liverpool have europa football

Sturridge ,hope not dont rate him at all
