Real and Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Brannagan. An offer might arrive soon from either one.

Is Brannagan really expected to get to that level? I haven't seen much of him, but it still seems unlikely to me.

He didn't really stand out in the cup games I saw, against lower opposition as well. Keep hearing he's amazing. In honesty, I don't even know his position? CM or CAM or wing or none of those, is he a midfield utility player?

Brannagan is a good player maybe mid table I'm from Wales and heard Swansea are after him.

When I saw him play, seemed to me he was playing a CM position, but he's listed as an AM. Very good crosses and knows where to place the ball on corner kicks. Amazed to read he's been at the club since the age of 5.

Brannagan was easily one of the better players from the cup games. Him, Stewart and ojo where the stand outs for me. I hope he actually gets opportunities with us as he's a baller.

would love to see him get a chance, at least he knows how to take a corner!

Signing players after good performance may not be bad idea but u got to get longer history of tracking them. U may not like like but red nose sign Park ji sung after world cup and his amazing performance for psv vs ac milan. Hernandez was also captured after good world cup performance. Suarez was sign by dutch team after good world cup.

Lee you are posting rubbish again. Man Utd did not sign those players after a single performance. If you remember correctly Utd actually announced the singing of Hernadez before the World Cup had started!

Agree3 Disagree7

{Ed001's Note - and Park Ji Sung had been tracked for a couple of seasons. Suarez was defo not signed on the back of a good World Cup either.}

Guys, can I come in on this one.

If you read back to one of my earlier posts, my mate and his son ended up fishing the same lake as Brannigan ( in France ) a couple of weeks ago to which some on here slated me for mentioning

. They got on extremely well, signed shirt a kick about on the bank and have even exchanged mobile numbers, a very down to earth bloke by all accounts.

He 100% did mention the Barcelona were seriously looking at him but has no intention to leave. Nothing was said about Madrid though so not sure where that has come from.

Nicky, didn't say at the time but i'd so love your story to be true. And if it isn't, you still get full appreciation for creativity from me.

Kloppo will give the lad a chance next season, part of the reason I don't want us to sign the likes of Dahoud and Zielinski.
This lad obviously has talent and has a great attitude. There is no limit to his potential. The biggest obstacle will be if his progress is blocked.

Ojo and Brannagan have to pick up a dozen or so first team games next season, they will surprise a few.

Brannagan is just a player that you watch at times and just oozes quality. Payet last night just ran the show and just looked on a different level and brannagan has done similar things in games especially I think it was the year before last in the next gen series where I saw him play a couple of times and he has the pure ease of ball control that only top players have. Also has a wicked set piece as has been mentioned. Wether or not he steps up in his career and makes it to that level on the big stage who know but he definitely has something in him! He is more than deserving of a season of chances similar to what ibe got this year imo. Wether he will have the chance with the players ahead of him and the lack of games this year again remains to be seen but he's a rare type of player where things just seem to happen when he gets involved!

Joe mate, if you look at my previous posts, I really don't post stuff like that, in fact I don't really post that much.

I'm a bit old skool, coming up to 43 so don't think my mind would have the capacity to make up such a story lol.

It's 100% legit. If you have a look on his Facebook page, scroll down to the end of May and you'll see him signing the shirt mate.

If we buy in players from outside EPL, outside Liverpool's set up, we have to wait for them to get going, settled etc. When we have players like him, Stewart and Ojo already had time with Klopp, already used to English football, used to Liverpool and with a lot of potential it would be mad to lose them, spend money on players who may not settle and then wait to see how long they take to get going. Makes more sense, if these lads can do what the manager wants, to get them involved.

Red Sandmen, please read my post again:

"Signing players after good performance may not be bad idea but u got to get longer history of tracking them. "

Of because they will say they've been tracking him for a few seasons but they have been tracking literally hundred of promising players! It was the champions league performance vs ac milan that clinch it. So stop playing words. Its how it works. The big boss watch that match and send text to his scouts and enquire about him. " argh Park. yeah we've been tracking him a few seasons and was just about to send you his dossier. "

{Ed001's Note - pointless discussing this with you, you are wrong and that is all there is to it.}

11 Jun 2016 14:18:33
Obviously varies but for bigger signings (not youth players) how long would a club scout a player? Sorry if it isn't possible to answer.

Also is the rumoured story about United signing Ronaldo based of a friendly against them true?

Agree0 Disagree4

{Ed001's Note - it can be years sometimes. The story is an urban myth, it was simply that Roy Keane asked the club to sign him after facing him in a friendly, but he was already being tracked by many clubs. Rick Parry had turned down the chance to buy him for £3.6m previously for us.}

Glad we dodged that bullet! Cheers ed.

Hi ed001,pls i ask of you, Read up how park ji sung was recruited before dismissing my claim.

Agree0 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - I am not interested in reading up on it, he was being scouted for a long time before that. They considered him and looked at him, it was not based on one game, it was a clincher not the reason.}

13 Jun 2016 18:17:36
Ed001 with the Ronaldo thing, I thought it was a case of Liverpool didn't act when was available for peanuts then went back later and found suddenly the price was 3+ times what we'd been offered him at?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - no Parry blocked the initial deal as he said it was too expensive.}

Thanks Ed - he must love being reminded of that one constantly.
