Ed002 would u just be able to clarify what the current situation is with the owners and their desire to either sell the club or a stake in the club? thanks {Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure that they have considered the options available but the concept of "big investors" is not somewhere we are heading.}

Believable7 Unbelievable18

Haha ed002 you said we ;-) I knew you'd turn red eventually :-)

G. p

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 sorry but what do u mean by the concept of big investors is not somewhere we are going? are big investors not interested in Liverpool {Ed002's Note - There is no benefit in discussing money as folks simply get confused. I have not seen anyone here understand the concept of investment at all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Basicaly Ed002 is saying there are NO major investment changes on the horizon and all this talk of us having a massive budget to spend on players this summer is bull***t. {Ed002's Note - The word "investment" is what seems to be confusing people. If, for example, 22.5% of the shares in the club were sold to Türkmennebit for £100M, that money does not go to the transfer "pot" but to the pockets of the owners.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 I think what people talk about is that say if someone from the middle east bought a stake in the club, the money they paid for the stake would go to the owners but the people in the middle east may have a lot of money to then put into the club eg players etc?

{Ed002's Note - Whilst not owning the club? Has that ever happened before? It seems a little like fantasy football.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 no cause they are owning the club. It is a similar situation to arsenal who have a range of different owners but one principal owner in stan kronke? {Ed002's Note - It is nothing like the situation at Arsenal where shares exist to be traded. At Liverpool there are no shares. If the club were sold it would be an entirely different situation as they would not be investord, but the new owners of teh club.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 do u think the owners are in talks with anyone over selling the whole club? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware of.}

Liverpool are running the rule over aymen adbenour, with a view to making a summer move. he will cost in the region of £6m.

Believable27 Unbelievable16

An absolutely wonderful purchase if we could get him, but isn't he heavily linked with Barcelona? I am sure that they invited him to a game, but his club wouldn't let him go. A great player though.

Any chance of Britons Liam Bridcutt coming to us in the future? Looks a quality player and has worked with Rodgers before at Chelsea? {Ed052's Note - no, I cannot see it at all}

Believable3 Unbelievable18

Don't bring up anton!

Agree0 Disagree0

Two-footed, good balance, pace, excellent young player. would be a superb addition as defensive midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

He has been key for brighton past few seasons and is starting to show premier league quality, would be excellent cover for Lucas or even break into the first team

Hi Eds, I'm of the thinking that BR will have about £30M to spend this summer (including money from sales) and if as I think there is a bid for Eriksen then the thick end of £20M will go on him alone, not leaving much for a CB etc. I'm sure BR is looking to bring in some players on a free and also to bring through one or two of the kids into the squad but what with Man U, Chelsea and Man City all starting the season with new managers (Mancini will be gone by Sunday) do you think FSG might stump up some more cash as next season looks like a great opportunity to really push on. {Ed001's Note - there is no set budget, the club is losing money, so any buys will have to come out of the owners' pockets. Yes they will stump up some cash, how much I don't know.}

Believable1 Unbelievable13

30m
Xabi Alonso 10m
Christian Eriksen 15m
James Milner 5m

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe 25 mill and whatever can be generated in sales.

Cheers

Macca

Agree0 Disagree0

Losing money? Thought with several older high earners, some new sponsership etc the picture might be looking a bit better? Not the case? {Ed052's Note - we are making huge losses circa 1m per week. It is however reducing. We try to avoid talk of money however}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow 1m a week is a lot, where is the majority of this coming from? Could be a big problem if not sorted quickly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Eriksen will not be joining

Agree0 Disagree0

Just shows how much is wrong with our club. We are losing money hand over fist yet the season tickets are going up by about 7% minimum, our squad is piss poorly thin and even with the new TV money coming in we will only have about 25m to spend!

My season ticket will be £850 next season. My mates ticket for EFC is less than £500 and they have 7, 500 less on average every game. But they will have the same as us to spend in the transfer market pretty much.

Eds - why are we in such a mess again?

Agree0 Disagree0

We have been spending to much on players and wages. And the answer to this problem is not to spend more on buying new players.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is why we need Sugar Daddy type of owners. It does not mean we will spend like crazy shyte like the Citys etc, but atleast we fans are assured that the owners can stump up the dough. U people really believe FSG and thr Ed's when they say that FSG "can release the money if required". I just think its BS. We need owners who can release atleast 35M per summer transfer season to really compete. I wouldn't mind if the owners gave 15-25M.

Agree0 Disagree0

LOSING £1m a week RUBBISH!

Sorry ed52 you don't know what you're talking about! So according to you we will be in £52m more debt than we were last financial year! if that's true than the club really is screwed!

{Ed002's Note - The club has lost £1M per week for each of the seasons since the owners arrived. I have explained this repeated and just because you are dumber than a box of rocks and don't understand changes nothing.}

Agree0 Disagree0

How r we still losing money? surely the warrior and other new sponsorship deals have helped, not to mention the sky money next season, I no some of this is yet to come but projections must be improving? {Ed002's Note - This has been done to death - repeatedly.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Eds but that's utter crap, we posted a small profit last year (financial results are yet to be released). The year before we lost $30mil pounds we was released a few months ago. {Ed002's Note - The most recent results for Liverpool were for a 10 month long period and they showed a £40M loss. This is why we don't discuss money.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The losses include the cost of the new stadium designs (which was a waste of money), payments to exiting senior staff as well as player contracts. Next year will give a true indicator of the clubs finances and it will look much healthier. Think of the club like an old derelict mansion, you buy it for £1m then you invest £250k to renovate, but then you find structural problems which adds another £50k and then you discover a woodworm infestation, which means replacing all of the timber for another £50k. Before you know it the project is £100k over budget, but next year you won't be under pinning or replacing joists, so your bank balance will look a lot healthier and you have a nice mansion.

Hello Eds,
a question for Ed001
are we interested in Sam Bryam (the Leeds RB)?
I think it will be better if we went for a RB than a LB as it will allow johnson to cover for LB as he is much better when playing there.

Also can you please tell me about the centre backs we are looking at or have looked at? {Ed001's Note - I have not heard of us showing any interest in Byram. I don't have a list to hand of all the centre backs as I am not at home, mind I wouldn't fancy typing it out on my phone anyway, even if it was at hand! Off the top of my head the only oneI can remember is Botia.}

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Off to United

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed do Barcelona still have an active buyback clause with Botia? [FR] {Ed001's Note - I have absolutely no idea, sorry, I know little about him, only that we have had him scouted. I will be entirely honest and admit I never even knew he had come from Barca.}

Agree0 Disagree0

My dad is a season ticket holder at Leeds, I go occasionally. I do not see what the hype is we have better youngsters. Put it this way Stephen Warnock played better each time I went than him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was surprised city are heard to have bidded 10m on the kid. He is a good player but not for over 5m

Hi Eds,

Is it true that Liverpool have made bids for Jackson Martinez in the past while he was at Porto?

Regards

Marc {Ed002's Note - Prior to Porto Liverpool showed some interest. At Porto there has not been interest. If there is going to be interest he will be a replacement for Suarez.}

Hi Eds,
is Skrtel leaving LFC this summer? thanks {Ed002's Note - I think he will most probably leave.}

Believable31 Unbelievable8

Other obviously different, the same was said about Glen Johnson and he stayed so I think with unpredictiablity saying he will leave on the balance of probability is "probably" inaccurate.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope he does. He is been pretty poor this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't be opposed to keeping him if we couldn't get so much money for him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Great news

Agree0 Disagree0

He will go back to Russia or Italy for 10million euros

intitwetrust

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully not. For more mediocre Swansea players and chelsea fringe players. Rodgers is dismantling the club

Hi eds cracking job everyone proper addicted to this site, just wondering if we are looking at any benfica players? Really like rodrig, matic and gaitan and think they would all fit in br's system hope you cheers {Ed002's Note - I don't see any of those three being an option.}

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Ed. Will gaitan be moving in the summer?
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Quite probably, but not to Liverpool.}

10 May 2013 12:45:29
Ed002, you have mentioned us watching Inan recently. Do you think the player would give up CL football to come? Also, is he a high earner (relative to Liverpools squad)?

Would love us to but Inan and Turan then just focus on the defence with the likes of Sandro, Botia and Ilori being watched also. Could you see us even moving for Turan this summer? I heard a rumour Abramovich wants him, but with Hazard, Mata, Oscar and Marin already in his postion, can't see it happening.

YNWA! (Adam) {Ed002's Note - Inan has other options which seen to be more to the fore right now. AC Milan, Atletico Madid and Valencia have stepped in to seek discussions as early as possible.}

Believable5 Unbelievable6

10 May 2013 13:07:17
Cheers for the reply Ed, I really hope we get him, would be an absolute steal from under the noses of every top club in Europe. Even with Drogba, Sneijder etc. Inan is still the standout performer for Galatasaray (too many 'a's in that word!).

YNWA! (Adam)

Hi eds or reds does anyone know if the turkish league has a limit on foreign players that can be in each squad? I was told this by a friend who said Gala are happy to let Muslera go to free up a "slot" for a foreign outfield player. [FR] {Ed002's Note - Someone has been teasing you about the goal keeper leaving for free.}

eds, seeing as lfc scouts were recently at the fiorentina-roma game and Toby Alderweireld is set to join roma, might Marquinhos be moving on. do you know of any clubs interested in him or do roma plan to keep, looks a top young player {Ed002's Note - Roma's Marquinhos has attracted the attention of Barcelona, Benfica, Dortmund, Manchester City and Manchester United.}

Believable4 Unbelievable2

He will be a Barcelona player start of next season.

Hi eds, what's the latest with Andy Carroll, a web site are reporting that they west ham want to keep him, but what figure is lfc commanding and is there any interest from spurs and Newcastle or will he be on the bench at lfc next season! {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new.}

Believable8 Unbelievable0

17m is the set agreement. Nothing less.

Agree0 Disagree0

I expect him back at Liverpool for pre season training and if Suarez stays then I also expect Carroll to stay and provide cover as he is banned for the 1st 6 games, and another reason for Carroll staying is like Utd we would finally have 4 strikers in Suarez, Sturridge, Carroll & Borini.

Agree0 Disagree0

At this moment he is worth 15m, Mark

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodgers is not serious about selling the only player in LFC who actually can bully huge defenders of the likes of Stoke and Championship sides. Carroll deserves another chance. He will do wonders I reckon!.

Agree0 Disagree0

Big D. Borini doesn't count! Even Gerrard said Liverpool only have 2 strikers.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know he has been good previously.
But considering we don't have a plan B when opposition park the bus, Carroll can be very useful to unlock the defence.
If he knuckles down & work hard, learn with BR, he can be one hell of a player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get Carroll back

Hi Eds,

Do you know if Liverpool have any interest in Pierre Emerick Aubameyang? I am aware Newcastle were lining up a bid, due to there french connenctions, but with his unbelievable speed & capability to play in either of the front three positions, he would be an asset to any club.

Also, Micah Richards doesn't strike me as the sort of Footballer who's going to help Liverpool challenge for the top four, I no they're have been a few clubs looking at bringing in Colocini, i'd take him in a heartbeat for a year or 2 {Ed002's Note - After a year or so St Etienne Aubameyang has attracted the attention of Fiorentina, Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Zenit St Pete, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Spurs and PSG, probably amongst others. He has said in the past the one day his dream would be to return to play with a great Milan side. I understand that if a significant bid is made that St Et will give it due consideration. Such a bid is being pondered by Chelsea and by Fiorentina, and I suspect Manchester City will look again as an alternative to Jovetic.}

Morning eds :-) I'm seeing Miralems Pjanic's name been mentioned on a sports programe about prem teams looking at him. Is LFC 1 of those teams? Thanks you lot take care. Nice 1 ;-) {Ed002's Note - PSG remains keen on the signing of AS Roma's Miralem Pjanic but if he becomes available both Inter and Chelsea could show an interest. Another English side have made an enquiry, but it is not Liverpool.}

Ed, what's sergi roberto like? It seems spurs have opened talks with barcelona on the creative midfielder? Any chance of us looking? {Ed002's Note - Barcelona need to raise some funds through sales as they are looking to strengthen in several areas and will also be bringing players through (like Tello) that have been getting experience in the B team. They do accept some of the B side (e.g. Deulofeu and Roberto) have attracted interest from elsewhere and could be let go but many would be reluctant to move on without an assurance of first team football. Roberto has been of interest to English sides including Spurs and Chelsea. Liverpool has shown no interest.}

Ed is it possible we could still go for Alderweireld? I've heard Roma have agreed a deal in principle but if we were interested would we still make an offer for him?

Good player in my opinion and can cover right back as well as centre back.

With Son Heung-min's contract with Hamburg running out soon, any chance of us moving for him? {Ed002's Note - Since the New Year some interest has been shown by Dortmund, Manchester United, CSKA Moscow and Chelsea, who would ideally look to a deal that sees a player included as part of an offer. Hamburg would like to keep him but I expect him to move in the summer, but a move to Chelsea or Manchester United could see him sat on the bench and that may not be what he wants. Dortmund or Spurs might be the best compromise for him but a recent enquiry from Dortmund has seen a much higher asking price than expected put on the player - so they are looking to negotiate.}

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Hi Ed, poster here.

Any rumours about the asking price?

From the tv report, it seems he rejected a contract negotiation and Hamburg has resigned to losing him. {Ed002's Note - The price is much higher than Dortmund expected. I don't want to get in to numbers as it causes confusion. I do expect him to move in teh Summer.}

What are the chances of Liverpool going for Scott Sinclair this summer? Mancini seems like he is happy to sell and we could do with another attacking player.
