With this talk about sterling I can't help thinking BR has prepared for his departure by signing Markovic as his replacement
Sorry Eds- I just can't come up with any other explanation

Believable2 Unbelievable42

{Ed002's Note - No, that is not the case P.}

Ed002
Are Madrid looking for a January deal for sterling? Reading some reports online.
If he is sold (btw I'd cry) are we looking at anyone? We don't want another Suarez situation on our hands (that of having no adequaterreplacement lined up

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to get in to timescales.}

Lallana is an adequate replacement for Suarez

I just can't see this Sterling to Madrid thing happening, not yet anyway. I can't recall the last time they paid stupid money for someone who wasn't already the 'finished article'.

Agree0 Disagree1

Illarramendi (23 at the time) and Isco (21 at the time) off the top of my head.

Hey Eds, do you think Rodgers will be allowed to buy any more players this January?Personally I don't see it after he was given money to bring in 9 players this summer. Thank you in advance for your reply

Believable4 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - It is clear that efforts are being made to add another goalkeeper. After that you would think with the changes made in the summer that there should be nothing else required. However, at some point, I am convinced that we will hear the cliché "we are always looking to add quality". I am sure there will be a player or two leaving in January (Suso and perhaps Coutinho) and I am not convinced that they need replacing. The club also needs to keep a watchful eye on the FFP issues.}

Hold on Ed, why are we trying to sell Coutinho?I thought he was highly rated by Rodgers and part of our project

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No problem then.}

So which club is interested?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - We'll see nearer the time.}

This is a joke rodgers has signed one player who has done brilliant and that is sturridge all his other signings have been average to rubbish maybe a few will come good from
Summer like a rate lallana but he needs to up his game coutinho showed sparks of how he could be good but never nearly enough do eds agree

Hi eds does the Sterling to chelsea rumour have any legs to it or is it just part of his contract negotiations? I am a little concerned that he is being linked with a move away and really hope this doesn't turn in to Torres suarez type saga

Believable4 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Sterling has been playing well. Expect interest from other clubs.}

No he is to good we only sell the plastics players that r past their best.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Still spreading the ignorance then Tommy? Your posts are very embarrassing for the non knuckle-dragging oafs of Liverpool fans who want to know what is happening.}

Cheers ed . Do you think the player will want to stay and sign a new contract though or is it more likely we will lose Raheem in your opinion? Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know Dan, but if players are doing well then expect interest.}

Sterling is playing well but is not world class due to end product so if he were to leave i'd have no problem if we brang in Ruse or the Colombian winger caudauo (spelling) or someone in that bracket

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be very surprised if Chelsea went for Sterling based purely on the wealth of talent they already have both at the club and on loan in that area. Could easily see City going for him in the summer, especially if someone like Silva or Nasri left

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The two sides who have shown an interest are Chelsea and Real Madrid. Manchester City are not in a position to do anything in January due to their FFP punishment but have identified a viable summer target that would mean they won't be looking to Sterling. I don't see the kid being keen on moving abroad, I don't think Chelsea will happen, and with the new deal I expect him to soon accept I am sure he will be at Liverpool for some time yet. But it doesn't mean there won't be interest.}
