A lot of harsh criticism and frustration on here which is completely understandable, However it's all aimed at Rodgers,,, but not ONE post about Gerard missing the penalty?

We also created 20 attempts, is Rodgers expected to come on the pitch and put the ball in the back of the net himself, The players are to blame for tonight's shocking result, not the manager

(the players out on the pitch tonight were more than capable of winning comfortably too, like I said, 20 attempts and a missed penalty, so no complaints about the team selection)

Kelly Red

You couldn't really blame Gerrard for the miss though, it was a good penalty just a terrific save from a very underrated goalkeeper!

The manager picks the team and buys the players, he bought Borini for £10millon and Allen For £15millon and both players have been awful

Allen & Borini are far better than 90% of Kennys buys

I don't think it is fair to judge BOrini just yet he has come just out of injury and it isn't like he is starting to get going. He has had some nice shots that were stopped by some great saves.

Sturrige's contribution is already seen when he isn't playing. We need him back quick to have a true poaching threat.

What we really need is a team that is taught how to defend corners. They concede far too many goals from set pieces, and opposition players look to exploit that every time we play. It has been a weakness for Liverpool for far too long.

Actually is 25 chances created according to opta stats. and how can people say downing has been good lately? beats me.

Ben Foster always has a worldy against us. It's stupid.

We may have had 20 shots but only 4 on target and 3 of those were from Gerard, taking Henderson off was the straw that broke the camels back. Why leave a defensive midfielder on the pitch at home with 70% possession, big mistake from BR.

Started with Gerrard, Lucas, Hendo and Shelvey at the same time. Don't you guys see a problem there?

Rodgers needs to be sacked his signings aren't good enough he has lost way too many games and has not won a game against anyone in the top 6 terrible manager needs to go know

He doesn't need sacking at all we are no longer a top team but given time rogers could get us back up there but not with fans like you when all that was mossinglast night was the ball in the back of the net

4 on target?!? Which game were you watching? Try 14.

I agree you can't blame Rodgers for players being unable to put the ball in the net, and you can't legislate for a GK having the game of his life, but it IS the managers job to ensure the tactics are right for the opposition we're facing. It IS the managers job to motivate the players before the game AND at half time. They came out in the second half looking like they'd all just had a radox bath and a nice cup of tea!

I'm not part of the 'Rodgers out' brigade by any means, I personally believe he needs to be given time, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't have to take some of the flak for yet another below par performance against (supposedly) inferior opposition.

Poor poor poor. if we play like that against Zenit we'll be dumped out of the Europa and left fighting for a place in the same competition next season (at best!)

This season was always going to be a transitional one. Rodgers will be good manager for us he has us playing good football and once he is given the TIME to create his team and his way of playing then I'm sure he and the team will come good. Its clear to see we lack depth and quality in every department, Rodgers can't be blamed for that he can only work with what he's got. My only criticism is Allen should not have been bought wasted £15 million there when we already have henderson who IMO is no different. Assaidi looked good everytime he played but mysteriously does not get a game. Cannot judge borini ATM as he has not played enuff but I personally think another £10 mill wasted. Coutinho will take the prem by storm. No need to to talk about sturridge rodgers has pulled that off.

What absolute rubbish being spouted here about shots and possession. Liverpool had 14 shots, of which 7 were on target, and 59% possession.

Liverpool were terrible up front last night! We we too light weight and lacked ideas.

West Brom had 4 touches in the second half and scored from 2 of them.

Based on last nights performance we need Sturridge back ASAP and a midfielder who can win the ball.

Shelvey was poor last night and quite a few others. West Brom were awful and yet they still managed to win.

Lets hope Rogers gave them a proper ear bashing in the dressing room as what I saw wasn't good enough at all.

Gaz1975.

Think you'll find ben foster was mainly to blame for the result, had a cracking game and without doubt the man of the match but no that does not mean we should sign him to replace reina!

Too many players went missing last night no pride in the shirt we know the manager can't go on the pitch but he puts the team on it, too many prima donnas. what we need is a ronnie moran type figure on the sidelines screaming and bollocking these players maybe carra might do that job in the near future

12 Feb 2013 14:40:26
we're a mid-table team get used to it. Rodgers Out the mans clueless, a lower league manager. 34m worth of his signings on the bench lastnight and that's were they'll stay, they will never be good enough. this clown is taking us backwards

Why does gerrard take the corners I can't remember the last time we scored off one of his surely he would be better off poaching just outside the box letting downing or someone else take them

Some people or so called 'fans' need their heads read. it bemuses me at times. The players need to take responsibility when they're on the pitch. That's it! Definately a side capable of beating WBA, tactically set up to create chances (check the stats) but no execution from the team. Who's responsible for making sure the players are clinical on the pitch? (taking nothing away from Ben Foster) Rodgers is moving the team in the right direction, look at the last two away games which we should and could have won. Gerrard's penalty was crap, a huge shame because he's recently hit a bit of form.

Those that say Rodgers will get us back into the top four - what are you basing that on? His track record?

That would be failure at Reading, then Watford. Finishing off the job started by Martinez and Sousa at Swansea?
Playing 'good football for a promoted team'?
They conceded more goals than they scored. Go on the Swansea forums and read what they say about his 'philosophy'.

His 'philosphy' is nothing but the naive idealism of a totally inexperienced manager. At least Arsenal's artistic idealistic football sees them hit top four every season. Rodgers was appointed 10 years too early. If he survives the Summer, we'll see exactly the same next season.

14 Feb 2013 02:08:04
When we last got spanked by WBA I was leading the charge to get shut on Rodgers. But if you can't see the building blocks put down by the manager by now, or understand the fact that we're turning a corner then don't consider yourself an educated fan. Work in progress all to often is a phrase to mask excuses but BR isn't throwing around excuses, he's building a vision and he's taking responsibility for set-backs. Both GH and RB got a few seasons to show they were moving in the right direction, once they got support they spent like crazy. I think BR is going the same way whilst balancing books, I want to see where it goes.

11 Feb 2013 22:13:30
Hi There: First time posting, can anyone please tell me are Liverpool interested in any British centre backs or any centre backs for that matter. All this stuff about Downing and Henderson not been good enough to play for Liverpool is taken away from the fact that centre back is a hugh problem for Liverpool even more so than left back.

I'm sorry, but the fact that Carragher is now playing in front of skertl and for those who think Agger is a world class centre half, they are in dream land.

Who are the possible centre halfs for Liverpool?

You are right our centrebacks are weak! I used to think Ashley Williams was not good enough now I would love him to come here. no grit no agression, just soft, very sad state of affairs

Not british but would have said toby alderweireld? But he looks spurs bound.

4 goals now in last 3 games Agger at fault. Sick of watching ball playing centre halfs that can't defend and let players drift off them. Every defeat like this speeds up the departure of Suarez. His career is short and no one could blame him if he left for a champs league team in the summer. Great club with, average players. So depressing :- (

Elderslie Red

Agger has been absolute a moster last 2 years, he is also allowed to play couple times now and, just to bad that is 2 games in a row.

Yes we need centre backs, but in all truth, we haven't been defensivly sound since rafa left. I mean we had hypia and agger and carra ect. but we also played with two holding midfielders which included Mascherano!We miss that formation, we miss the presence of a powerful CDM. We missed out on Mvilla, Sissoko and will proberbly miss out on many more opting to sign players like hendo and joe allen.

We miss Xabi alonso and his craft! With gerrard bombing forward.

Lucas is a good player but he is injury prone and inconsistant, just like skrtel and agger. We need another two CB's and at least one CDM. A proper one aswell, not just a player who can do an ok job there! I mean a player like Lars Bender, Cambiasso, De Rossi!

I like BRs approach and metality, but we aren't going to be a flashy quick paced team. We have one player to suit that style in luis suarez. And before BR gets the team he wants, he will be saked because of the poor defensive performances and lack of goals (excl Suarez)

Jamie

Elderslie Red. Good post!

Agree, agger has been at fault for a lot of our goals this season by losing his man and at fault for both last night, 1st he lost he marker who scored and second got ripped by lukaku, skrtel is rumoured to be gone, carra retiring and coates too slow

we have kelly left who is currently very injury prone so we need 3 new centres backs in the summer

So tough watching us struggle for consIstency when the EPL is as poor this season as it has been in a while.

Hoping that Borini and Allen are going through what Lucas, Hendo and Downing did and come good after initial struggle to cope with the responsibility of playing for our great club.

Suarez is our only world class player and we need progress in league position this season to keep him and attract better players.

Carra and Stevie must be devastated by the lack of fight among some of the players to grind out results when the going gets tough.

Still feel top 6 can be achieved which is progress but need to man up a bit and show some sign that every goal lost hurts and winning matters.

Keep the faith

hey eds have any info on the young keeper Ray Mendoza? {Ed002's Note - This might be the kid they have offered a trial to.}

11 Feb 2013 19:13:02
Where's he from then? {Ed002's Note - Denmark. I assume an old Viking name.}

Lol ed. Not a viking name at all. Think the surname is african. He is a great talent. But is only second choice in Viborg FF, where the first choice is former lfc talent Martin Hansen. Viborg FF is fourth or fifth in Danish 1. Division (next best league in DK). Regards Danieldenmark

11 Feb 2013 17:12:16
Ed002 according to tuttosport we enquired about handanovic during the coutinho negotiations as we are interested for the summer. DO you think he could be an option? {Ed002's Note - Sounds like someone at Tuttosport has been teasing you.}

11 Feb 2013 16:50:18
Been told Newcastle are only willing to pay 10 million for Carroll and west ham will not make a move for him because he wants go go back north.

11 Feb 2013 16:44:01
Liverpool will probably target 3 players in the summer with a Keeper, CB and RW being the target areas.
Suarez will stay in the hope that we get CL next season, and we will allow 5 players to leave, with Reina, Skrtel, Downing, Borini and Spearing all set to leave.
Coates will be monitored for the rest of this season along with Wisdom, to see if the club feel they could cover the CB position.

JD.

Downing is going nowhere!

Borini won't be leaving and Downing will only leave if a suitable replacement is identified and bought, for example, Arda Turan.

SMc

11 Feb 2013 19:02:46
I agree Downing will leave if we get Ince and maybe Turan (hopefully)

Maybe let borini get a run of matches before we selling him?

I can't see borini moving.

assaidi yes, downing for me is playing well and will get better with faith shown in him. i'd rather keep downing than buy ince.

coates
carroll
spearing
henderson
assaidi
all to go.

CB, GK, AM, LW, RW

Coates is rubbish

Henderson has been playing well with the run he has had in the team, and in my opinion, Downing is not good enough on the wing, as his crosses rarely bypass the first line of defence.

11 Feb 2013 16:11:59
Hi Eds, I know everyone is banging on about possible centre backs and goal keepers coming in this summer but as Sterling, Suso and Wisdom broke through to the first team this season do you think a few more may step up for next season instead of buying in others? I'd like FSG to build a new/larger stadium and bring through some youngsters instead of splashing loads of cash on players that may not adapt - although I'd be very happy if Eriksen joins. {Ed002's Note - They will not be buying a new stadium and I think a couple of the youngsters will come through.}

Are they going to redevelop or is it shelved? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

Hi, I am a toffee but wanted you to know that some years ago I was coaching youth football and recommended a young goalkeeper to Everton. His name is Jamie Stevens. Everton seemed to ignore me but you guys had a youth friendly match against Swindon. Next thing I knew he signed for you. He is on loan at Welsh Premier side Airbus to get some experience. He is one to watch for the future. Just thought you might like to know.

Ed I think iv askd you before do you think it's possible that eriksen in the summer. And is it true that that he will only have one year left on his contract in the summer cheers. MATTYLFC {Ed002's Note - Please look down the page Matt.}

11 Feb 2013 16:57:30
If we miraculosly win 4th spot THEN i'll start believing all the eriksen talks because let's face it a lot of clubs will go in for him in summer and all can offer cl. If not from spain then both milan clubs and man united will go at war as explained before by eds. So I not expecting a lot out of the matter.

11 Feb 2013 14:21:57
Hey eds, I know summer is a long way off, but with rumours of Skrtel, Coates and Reina departing the club, along with Carra retiring, do you think the focus in the summer will be on strengthening the defence and goalkeeper positions? {Ed002's Note - You don't seriously expect me to answer that?}

Your asking the eds a question that you have literally answered yourself.
Oh I don't know

It's moments like this that make it all worthwhile :-)

No I think they will adapt a new tactic with no keeper or replacement defenders. It will be the 0-2-5-4.

"Hey ed002, if its getting dark outside does that mean its nearly night time :o"

To be honest though I don't think its a stupid question, I think edd002 has now developed this god-like status were people seek his approval before even contemplating something to be true.

Valdes and Dawson in!

Hha

intitiwetrust

I can't see us selling Skrtel because Coates and Carragher are going so that means we'll need to sign three centre backs and other areas need strengthening aswell.

11 Feb 2013 14:08:48
Eds just curious if Benatia (of Udinese) is likely to be on the move in summer and, if so, would we hold any interest? I think he's a good reader of the game, classy defender but with a lot of steel, like an Agger/Skrtel hybrid. Completely unaware of his transfer status though, any insights?

SMc {Ed002's Note - There is every chance he will move in the summer. Mehdi Benatia turned down PSG in the summer but still interests Juventus and in particularly Napoli. Spurs, Milan, and possibly Manchester United have shown recent interest.}

I have watched him in the ACON and I don't think he's that good

Judging players based on performances in a tournament is a foolish thing to do - remember El Hadji Diouf? Benatia is a quality Centre back - given the clubs sniffing around him seems we're unlikely to get him (or even interested) but if we did it would be a really good coup.

11 Feb 2013 13:30:53
Although eriksen is a top player I think the person Liverpool should be interested in from ajax is alderweirder, he is both physical and technicaly gifted and would be a good replacement for carragher or skertel if he was to leave, do you know if any interest has been shown in him from Liverpool?

Chris {Ed002's Note - Ajax's Toby Alderweireld looks a likely canditate to replace William Gallas at Spurs in the summer.}

Then we should nick Caulker of Spurs will offering him more 1st team chances :)

I can see why Spurs would want him Ed002, but what is the attraction of Spurs to him? And I don't just mean Spurs over us but in general to any team not in/struggling to be in the Champions League and where his place is not guarenteed in the starting line up. {Ed002's Note - I have no idea if he is attracted to Spurs or not. He is a player a number of clubs have an interest in and Spurs has spoken to his club and his agent about his availability. If the player and the club are happy with a deal being offered then a move may well go ahead in the summer. They would have to overcome interest from elsewhere.}

11 Feb 2013 13:04:31
Ed any chance we'll go for Emenike?
Cheers,
TedRed. {Ed002's Note - There was talk of Panathinaikos interest a while back. I am not aware of interest from Liverpool at this time.}

11 Feb 2013 13:04:10
Eriksen and Schmeichel will both be on the move in the Summer. Lots of interest in both players but will they be tempted to join up with Daniel Agger at LFC to give us 3 great Danes in the side. Hope So.

kidmillions

Liverpool had given a week trial to Kevin Ray Mendoza (18 year old Danish keeper)

No erikson will join spurs! He was extremely close to it in jan and will probably complete in the summer? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Roma, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Spurs, Inter and AC Milan have shown some level of interest in Eriksen in the past year or so. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan and Spurs remain the most interested clubs. I would not rule out Bayern Munich, Manchester City or other previously interested clubs returning for him again - although I would say that it is unlikely that Inter or Chelsea would be interested. Back in July the Milan Press Office were convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expected a bid to be made by for Eriksen. Expect both Milan clubs and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United and I remain in agreement with them that there is every chance of that happening. The player remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for18 more months before moving to Spain but would likely jump at the chance of a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if the opportunity arises. However, Ajax will not let him run down his contract so a move beckons in the summer. The player will see out the rest of the season at Ajax and see if he can attract attention from Spain.}

Hmmm eriksen was never close to joining spurs, infact any form of interest in that club is generated by the spurs fans, over a comment about he's former team m8, eriksen stated that he saw him as a role model, the only thing that means is eriksen will favor playtime over money, just like he's former team m8, any claim he has been close to joining spurs is a flat out lie (how I know this is basicly noone of your business, and I don't care about wether you believe me or not, only the fact that your presending lies about a friend of mine)

StevieG4President

Eriksen was infact close to joining and it has nothing to do with supporters generating his name

Eriksen yes! Schmeichel no

"Eriksen yes! Schmeichel no"

I think you got back back to front, no name!

Gav

Hold up are we talking about Kaspar Schmeichel? The Leeds keeper who was at City before Hart? I'm sure there would be plenty of interest from Championship teams for him, not from us.

11 Feb 2013 12:53:13
Hello Eds,
sorry if this has been answered before but could Nathaniel Chalobah be an option for CDM?
wouldn't cost more than 4 mils plus is a Quality player.

Secondly, could Viktor Moses be an option if Chelsea get Isco?

{Ed002's Note - Chalobah is one of three centre backs who will be returning to the club in the siummer for consideration by the new manager and coaching staff. Clearly not all three will stay for the season so he might get another loan and as you say he can also play in midfield. I would doubt the club would want to sell him.

I have no idea if Moses would be an option of not, but I am not aware of any interest in him from Liverpool at this time.}

Thanks Ed.
I would really like us to try for Chabolah, really versatile can play RB, CDM and CB. Honestly feel if we go for him we can get him as Chelsea are likely to be on another Spending spree in the Summer with Fellani, Falcao, Isco and GOD knows who. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has shown no interest in buying him nor Chelsea in selling him. I would think it most unlikely.}

11 Feb 2013 12:40:58
Hi Eds - a bit of gossip for you. Pal of mine is a commentator for the toon games who does find out the occasional snippet of information.

Man City are actively looking for a new keeping as they aren't keen on seeing whether or not Joe Hart will come out of his slump. They are looking at Tim Krul as a replacement for him.

Now for the Liverpool bit - Mancini wanted Reina as a way to try to settle is spanish players down and keep them and said that Joe Hart is available. Reina doesn't want to go to city as he'll not play for another PL team and he wants to push to be spain No1 back in spain. This however won't deter Rogers from going for Joe Hart and he could be the GK we're looking for.

Hope so - he'd be a great buy

No chance City will sell Hart, they barely have enough English players at the club anyway.

11 Feb 2013 14:32:09
Obviously would love Joe Hart to play for LFC, but why on earth would City sell him? He may have had a few dodgy games but he's been, in my opinion, the best keeper in the league over the last few seasons. No chance!

No chance of City selling Hart. He's easily the best keeper in the Premier.

kidmillions

You are unreal, Joe Hart is about the same level as Reina this season, P*SS POOR!
We need some new stability at the back, with a dependable keeper and a Carra type CB.

JD

Sorry mate, but a blag has to be remotely believable.
The idea that City would sell one of the best young keepers in the prem is just silly.
They're not that daft, mate.

I guess its possible that with their almost limitless funds they could decide to bring in someone older as first choice, in which case Hart would probably seek a move to make sure he plays regularly and gets in the England squad.

But no- they'll be looking to strengthen other positions in the summer, not for a keeper.

Of course Citeh could get rid of Hart - he hasn't played well for the last half an hour so they could just by a new one. Wouldn't want him at Liverpool though - if he can't play behind the Citeh team he'd struggle in most places and his form this season in particular is nothing to wite home about.

City would be daft to sell Hart.
And they would be completely nuts to replace him with Reina! Also, Reina will not become Spain's no. 1.

Hi Ed's. Any news on Rojas from Melbourne VIctory since he was apparently watched a few weeks back?
Dynamic young player.
Burkeyboy. {Ed002's Note - As I explained, I know nothing of this.}

11 Feb 2013 01:18:42
Hi eds and reds,
Everyone's saying Liverpool's going to have a big summer with a lot of players coming and going.
How likely is that to happening? {Ed002's Note - There will undoubtedly be players coming and going but probably not as many as people imagine.}

Hmm not sure what you mean Ed as there could be atleast 6 players leaving in Summer i. e. Pepe, Skrtel, Coates, Downing, Carroll, Spearing and maybe even Assaidi.
Looking at that and how many already argue that the Squad is too small anyone would expect atleast 5 INs in the summer. a GK, a CB (or 2), 2 Attackers, and possibly a versatile full back.
Now that is a big summer if you ask me. {Ed002's Note - And no doubt if you are not going to give any of the youngsters a chance they'll want out as well. Another couple of years of transition I guess.}

Its not about not giving youngsters a chance. You have got me totally wrong.
I said we need a CB and we certainly do if Skrtel and Coates leave. We can't really expect Kelly to be 1st choice straight away.
About the GK part surely you will agree we need one if Reina goes.
Now onto the fullback bit I only assumed it so that we could move Wisdom to CB where he will be quality and loan out robinson to get some experience while having a fullback to be back-up for Johnson and enrique as both are a bit injury prone.
And finally on the Attackers part, if Downing and Assaidi go we would have Sterling, Suarez, Sturridge, Borini and Coutinho as the options upfront. We could really do with someone like Ince and Heung Min Son. And honestly there aren't any attackers ready in the Acadamy to step up until atleast a couple of years.
I am all for giving Youngsters a go, I mean what's the point of having an acadamy if we don't use it but at the same time we have to move ahead as a club. {Ed002's Note - There is no denying a centre back will be needed, nor a goalkeeper. If Liverpool are to loan out players an buy in replacements then it is (a) dumb, (b) costly, and (c) a subsequent problem for squad size. Again there is no denying that there has been interest in a wider player.}

We have a lot of options for RB at the club
CR

In
Valdes
Alonso
Dawson
Out
Borini
Skrtel

Good Morning Edworthys,

Everyone is raving about Eriksen and quite rightly so, he's class. A top player. With potential to become a great player such as Xavi.

But as a Liverpool fan, I think he's an unrealistic target.

One Ajax player I would snap up and pay upwards of £12 Mil is Victor Fischer.

What a quality player. Young but extremely versatile.

Any interest at all eds and what do you guys think of him?

Thanks,

Jamie {Ed002's Note - Viktor Fischer is subject to interest from Milan, Manchester United, Manchester City, Hamburg and Werder Bremen. Ajax is negotiating a new contract with him.}

He is a realistic target we would have the funds in the summer as well as being one of the few teams that he will be guaranteed playing time as one of the most important players in the team.

11 Feb 2013 07:19:15
Hi Eds,

I keep seeing posts regarding Skrtel possibly leaving.
I personally think he is a player we should hold onto.

What, in your opinion, is the reason for him Possibly leaving? Player wants out or club wants to ship him off?

Whats the reasoning
?

Cheers,

Jamie {Ed002's Note - I think there is a good chance that Skrtel will be leaving in the summer. Last summer Csonto told Associated Press that because of changes at the club his client wanted to know what the future held and said that there were enquiries being made of Skrtel from Italy. I understand there has been some recent tentative interest from Fiorentina and two clubs in Russia - bids are expected to be made in the summer.}

Give us £15M upwards and he can go, we can then use that to bring in Ogbonna or Sakho.

BigD

I don't think this is bad for the money we're likely to receive, he is too rash and has had one good season since joining the club in my opinion.

Because he's not strong enough.

we have agger who is the defender that brings the ball forward and has good passing ability.

the other defender then needs to be very strong in the air so both the ground and air is covered.

but I don't think skrtel is that good in the air. he okay, but we can do a lot better.

we needs a hyypia type.

against stoke we looked like little boyes. skrtel who is supose to be the one to take on tall players, didn't win anything.

agger is good on the ground, he's good at reading the game.

skrtel just makes to many mistakes.

Why did he sign a new contract not so long ago if he was likely to go soon?

Best price we will ever get for Skrtel in his prime!

"Why did he sign a new contract not so long ago if he was likely to go soon?"

Players have signed contracts then left within days. I don't see it being an issue that someone might leave with 3 or 4 yrs left on his contract, in fact, it just means L'pool will get a decent fee.

Hey Ed's just wondering if Liverpool will go back for Gameiro in the summer? What's the situation with him? {Ed002's Note - There has been long term interest in PSG's Kevin Gameiro from Lille and Dortmund; Everton and Kuban Krasnodar have also shown interest in the player but Everton could only likely fund a loan. A move away from PSG in the summer seems very likely.}

So none from Liverpool? {Ed002's Note - It was done to death in January - Liverpool spoke to PSG about a different player.}

11 Feb 2013 03:51:35
with skrtel and coates looking more and more likely to leave this summer and the need for cover at left back, have Liverpool shown any interest in aymen abdennour?

drew {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Liverpool FC are holding talks with Ajax for Christian Eriksen. fact!
Brad

Oh no they're not lol. Its not a pantomime but LFC have asked to be kept informed about his situation, but are not currently in talks with Ajax.

Yeh, i've actually seen the transcript or their negotiations.

LFC:- "Can we have 'im?"

Ajax:- "Nee"

LFC:- "Worth a try, so long. "

Actually one Danish paper claims that Liverpool are frontrunners in the pursuit of Eriksen. But the summer is a long way off as we all know.

Fingers crossed and hope for best. Don't get too upset if he joins Barca or are Madrid where he wants to go to

I don't think people should start getting into an Eriksen frenzy to be honest.

The PL is not his first choice destination, and at the moment LFC don't look very likely to have a CL spot by the summer, so we might not be his first choice PL club either.

He is one of those high profile players who could easily attract a bidding war, and that is something FSG will not get into- so it's hard to see how any possible LFC interest could end in us signing him.
You never know, but I wouldn't pin too many hopes on it at this stage.

Maybe agger can sell the club to him on international duty. Tommy Irish Red

You talk a lot of rubbish, Fact!

Flintshire Red

He is best mates with Dagger which is a strong pull!

I posted probably the most accurate reply to this post! and yet again i'm not published? Can I ask what ed has thrown his toys out? Can't see it being ed2! Just wondering what I have said that's upset them? {Ed002's Note - I can't actually see any response to this from your IP address so cannot tell. It may have slipped down the back of the sofa. Send it again and I'll put it up.}

Hes not good enough for Madrid/Barca

There is a lot more talk about it although he has already turned down Man City and Chelsea so I doubt that Liverpool would be an option, would be a great signing if it did happen though. {Ed002's Note - He turned down Chelsea as they have twice rejected him following rials.}

Lol you put a smile on my face ed, monty python esq replies to posts!
My post was regarding eriksen! As I understand it he could well be on his way to spurs? He was close, very close in jan! Levy wanted him, the scouting system wanted him, the players wanted him esp vertonghan who had convinced the player to come! vdv (?) & edgar davids have both spoken to the player about the club! It was only avb that held up the deal! Its been said levy will get his own way with both eriksen and toby alderweireld joining spurs come the summer!

Ah Christian Eriksen. the Kun Aguero of the 2013 silly season! "But he's a closet Liverpool supporter, and a web site reported that in 1583 he said he only wants to play for us!"

Don't get me wrong, would absolutely love it, but let's see where we end up in the league before speculating, only if we get CL next season would we stand any chance at all. Finish where we are now it just won't happen.

What about Couthinho?

They can have all the 'talks' they want but pehaps they should concentrate on players who might actually be willing to sign for the club? Mad theory, I know

Hi ed, I saw micheal ngoo is doing really good at hearts but does he have a futre at lfc {Ed001's Note - depends how he gets on. This is his chance to impress.}

Hope he does get a chance at Liverpool, so far it shows he can score goals in a good league, and also his all round play is actually pretty good, and also it will give us a different option up front and a plan be which is good to have.

BigD

I am just a bit concerned about the standard of the Scottish league. Ngoo and Wisdom both look better players at Hearts than they do at LFC. Maybe it is the challenge that is bringing the best out of them. We shall see.

Dont see that mate, Wilson hasn't appeared in the first team for years now and Ngoo never has, but both have been impressive in the u21's (Ngoo has looked an absolute beast, Wilson has just been pretty good). Now they are getting a chance to do it in a competitive if not that brilliant league, and if it works well they should get their chance with us or maybe a premiership loan. Ngoo to Hearts is at least equal to Shelvey to Blackpool in terms of quality
