Klopp just dismissed the Pato rumours in the Arsenal pre-game press conf. With these words "My private advice to you is don't follow the Pato path any longer. ".

Believable17 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - maybe finally people will listen now he has said it too! I have become bored of telling people it is not happening.}

11 Jan 2016 15:18:11
Really annoying that all the papers etc are reporting it as a done deal. what is the point in this?! Also saying we are bidding for praet? Assume this is bs too. Best just 2 wait until window closes and then we will all know for sure. I personally don't think we will sign anyone.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Interest in Anderlecht's Dennis Praet has run hold and cold for a while and the likes of Ajax, Everton, Southampton, Hoffenheim, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Dynamo Moscow have moved on in the past year. Both Sevilla and Valencia had offers rejected in the summer whilst Aston Villa were also being kept informed by Anderlecht of any approaches for the player. and I suspect they might be first to put an acceptable offer on the table. Juventus were represented at a couple of games but were, I understand, unconvinced by the player. Arsenal has again looked atin recent weeks, once they new that there would be a January bid from elsewhere, but I am not aware of them taking it any further. However, Fiorentina has had several meetings with representatives of the player and Anderlecht - and are seemingly getting to the point where an agreement over a January transfer can be reached. If Liverpool are again interested in the player, and I am not so sure why they would want to bring in yet another attacking midfield player at the time, he may well provide a suitable replacement for Coutinho if he were to leave.}

Ed. wouldn't be a transfer window without the done deal on every player ever mentioned who still kicks a ball today.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The media do this to the Liverpool fans as they are gullible and easy to tease. Everybody knows this is just a nebelwand from Klipperty.}

11 Jan 2016 16:21:00
So ed just to confirm pato isn't coming?

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - Down graded from "done deal" to "nailed on" Lavers.}

Don't know how you put up with it Eds, for weeks you've been saying Pato isn't going to join Liverpool, every day, posters still ask you about him, perhaps now they will pick a new player they have in their X-box/ PlayStation games team and rack your brains about them now until the end of the transfer window.

I remember when someone said, categorically, that we weren't signing Mario Balotelli.

Te hee.

Sorry, just being facetious.

He is rubbish now anyway, he's been sent out on loan from corinthians, what does that tell you? they was really keen to have him a few years back LOL not so keen now are they haha!

Even though it was never going to happen neither did I want or think it we was going to sign Pato.
Allow to give my opinion as to why some may of believed the rumour. Pato as we know did once have potential, potential not realised. Pato is injury prone. Pato will be over priced and Pato will under deliver. Sounding familiar yet?

In summary Pato is a modern day Liverpool fc player he ticks all the boxes, sad but true in the words of Rafa " these are facts"

Klopp might be creating a smokescreen. We haven't had one of them yet this window.

Don't forget the mirrors to go with the smoke AUH 😜.

11 Jan 2016 20:39:10
And I know - Klopp is a smokescreen. Don't worry guys, we are getting Pato and Gary Monk this week, along with Ashley Williams for old time's sake.

To be honest the rumours have also said we are buying the German national team too, pinch of salt stuff. Don't want Pato anyway, it would seem he has not met the potential everyone gave him and at £11mil! I would rather stay within FIFA FFP.
The Eds and some posters know what is and isn't happening, so I take them for what they say. Nothing is definite as the club does not seem to like giving any confirmation until the deal is done - lest we forget the Willian transfer to Tottenham, oh sorry no Chelsea!
Don't always buy what the media and press are selling.
It does make for an interesting transfer window though, the will we won't we and are they worth it or not. love it!
Thanks for the info as always Eds and all, can't wait to see what's next.

Managers are fond of saying the opposite while negotiations undrway. So probably klopp has given it away - Pato is indeed coming.

Hi Eds, I know you guy's dealt with the Pato stuff last week, but a lot of people today on the official LFC forums are talking about a done deal for Pato. Has there been a change to what you guys said last week? Thanks in advance.

Believable0 Unbelievable19

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any "done deal" but if the official club forum has announced it is then the club would not say that unless the player had obtained a work permit after passing his medical and agreeing personal terms and the club had agreed and paid the fee to Corinthians and the fee to the third party owners and the six representatives who need paying off.}

11 Jan 2016 11:11:45
Sorry Ed, I didn't word that correctly, I should have written that fans are talking about it on the forums, there isn't an official announcement from the club. But as for your response I understand what you mean.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2016 13:08:43
Hey bris, just posted on rumours but a few days ago it was on fox sports and Aus ESPN, it's now on BBC and a few other LFC and media sites. Done deal for 11 million Pound.

Agree0 Disagree14

{Ed002's Note - There you go, apparently (according to the poster) Liverpool and the BBC say it is a "done deal".}

11 Jan 2016 13:17:10
I'm hoping it's not true, and honestly believed that when it was reported in the Aus media on Saturday, really worried now that it's being reported elsewhere, BBC alerts are generally spot on with there info but I'm praying this is one of the ones they are getting wrong.

Agree0 Disagree15

11 Jan 2016 14:09:24
The BBC are NOT reporting it. It is just in their Monday Gossip section where they reference the Star.
If there is any truth to it I really hope it's a loan and not 11 million as suggested. We don't need another big Balotelli ballsup.

"My private advice to you is don't follow the Pato path any longer. "

Thanks Jurgen. Moving on.

{Ed002's Note - Maybe the club have not told Klipperty it is a "done deal"?}

Maybe jurgen can't pronounce the word patio?

12 Jan 2016 08:57:25
Pato means duck in Spanish, maybe he was just telling the journos not to go down the path with ducks on it.

Gday Eds, is it true that Caceres is an option for Liverpool this January? Would he be available on loan and do you see him as a good choice?
Thanks!

Believable0 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - Juventus are completely done with Martin Cacares and are willing to sell in January. Fenerbahce have shown some tentative interest and Juventus have been trying to persuade Monaco to take him. I can't really answer the persistent questions about Liverpool interest as I am not aware that he is a viable option - he never seems to play that regularly, his wages will be high, there are very clear first choices, he certainly won't be an improvment ove rthe existing players - all in all a real DF decision igf that is what Liverpool are looking at.}

Hi reds,

As you know I'm not normally one to post rumours but I heard this from a credible source so I thought I would share.

It relates to Danny Ward.

A childhood friend and old team mate of mine is now a first team coach at Hearts, growing up he was a massive reds fan.

For those that don't follow Scottish football, Hearts and Aberdeen are currently battling for second spot (Europa) .

He rang me last nights chuffed to bits that Ward is getting recalled by the reds, as this is a massive boost to Hearts.

Anyway, word up there at Hearts (and I imagine he's well connected) is Ward has been recalled with the target of nailing down the number one spot between now and the end of the season.

If he's successful the spot is his, if not then Klopp will dip into the market in the summer.

Believable24 Unbelievable0

11 Jan 2016 12:12:33
Seems a good plan, but if he's not successful? Will he be moved on? Seems a shame to have him rot on the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2016 12:56:45
who knows frisky, possibly another loan?

It seems a keeper is priority to Klopp in the summer. It is good to see he is going to give Ward a chance and hasn't already decided to look straight to the market.

Agree3 Disagree0

12 Jan 2016 06:01:49
We'll see if Ward can overtake Migs place as 1st GK, I really hope so. But if he doesn't show his class and Klopp gets a new GK in, I think Ward will leave. I don't think he would accept to be second choice.

Hi Eds,

Did Liverpool ever make a Loan bid for Subotic and was it rejected?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - yes, no.}

11 Jan 2016 08:45:40
Hey Ed001, do u think the club will go back to BVB with a permanent offer for Subotic? He might cost around 10 million GBP and the club is stripped to its bare bones in the CB department right now, or will Klopp wait till the summer for someone like Matip or Caseres?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I don't think Klopp sees him as the long term answer.}

11 Jan 2016 08:52:23
So a loan move could well happen?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - not if he gets a permanent offer elsewhere that suits him, as that is what he is looking for.}

11 Jan 2016 10:03:48
So I guess we can rule out a loan move then. Do you see us bringing in a CB before the end of the window?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The club has made no secret of their desire to add a centre back but first choice Subotic is not available on the desired loan or loan to buy. They could simply buy him but seem reluctant - perhaps what money the club has available will be used elsewhere. Matip can sign a pre-contract agreement know but is otherwise not available unless a significant offer were made - I don't know why the club has not signed a pre-contract with him at this time. The other two stand out Germany based centre backs that Klipperty will know are Niklas Sule and Sead Kolasinac. I am surprised the club has not looked to either as both could be attainable this month - perhaps the money is not there? Caceres is certainly available, but makes zero sense to me. Ilori has returned so perhaps Klipperty thinks the situation has eased and with others soon returning from injury that may prove to be enough - my views are well known. Ba was looked at but I think a move this month is unlikely - and whilst expectations are high, he remains unproven at this level.}

11 Jan 2016 11:41:55
I agree that Caceres could be a bad signing, but it definitely smells like the money just isn't there atm for our preferred options. Sule would be a great signing and Matip would do nicely for now also. The prospect of playing a fragile Toure with an even more fragile Ilori against Arsenal and United is frightening. We have zero cover for our only two semi-fit center backs and surely the club would've already bought someone in time for these games if they had any money. Sadly it seems a loan may be our only option, let's just hope we can get someone half decent. Maybe Chelsea would let us have Djilobodji!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Djilobodji is certainly available and there is a meeting scheduled regarding him in the next couple of days - but Liverpool has not shown interest.}

11 Jan 2016 11:42:30
Ed002, isn't sead kolasinac a left back? i though he plays left back for schalke04. If nikolas sule is available then perhaps liverpool should look to buy him. he has looked great in few games i have seen him play for hoffenheim.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Obviously he would only have been about 16 or 17 at Hoffenheim and I don't know what position he played. He only started playing LB when Keller arrived but had previously played at CB. This versatility is what is attracting attention of a couple of major sides.}

11 Jan 2016 16:20:50
Money used in elsewhere in the sense you are talking about grujic right ed?

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - Not in particular.}

11 Jan 2016 16:33:53
Howedes is the answer. An €11 million release clause.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Any release clause is of zero relevance. Add to that no interest whatsoever from Liverpool.}

12 Jan 2016 04:55:27
Howedes is in Orlando, enjoying the Bundesliga winter break. An hour a way drive and I can break the news that Mikey Mouse himself is flying him over with his private jet!
