I HATE international duty/ teams/ friendlies. The football is terrible too. Why can't it all just go away?

I hope it wasn't from a pickford challenge that's done him.

All the rumours are suggesting it’s a bad injury. Having a terrible run of luck. Hoping Neco Williams and rhys Williams can step up with Phillips to keep the team moving forward. Squads there to be used could be a good chance to give the youngsters some experience. Trents been off the boil so far this season so be good for genuine competition.

Would be amazing to Finnish above the toffees this year with all our injuries.

That's no ambition to finish above Everton. We have a world class squad.

This is worse than anything city had to deal with last season and ‘neutrals’ moaned and cried for them citing that injuries stopped them from genuinely Challenging (even though we had just as many injuries) . I wonder what the narrative would be if we struggled massively this year due to this unnatural amount of injuries we’ve got in the space of 2 months or so. To be fair, just like city last season, we made a huge error in not bringing in a CB in the summer when it should’ve been one of our top priorities and now we are paying the price. No ones fault but ours but I bet people will forget the injury narrative when analysing why we may struggle. This a huge chance for one of the youngsters to step up and make that their spot, I hope one of them takes it.

Hindsight is always 20/ 20. And all the geniuses on here, talking about "we should have bought a CB" while ejaculating wildly about buying Thiago and Jota, in a time of virtually no investment funds being available, proves it.

At the time it looked like a well studied risk with pros and cons. Nobody foresaw the 2 starting CB's both getting serious injuries, not to mention the 4th choice (Fabinho) too. Nobody foresaw VVD playing non-stop for over 2 years without injury, either. It's all about assessing risks and taking decisions. So let's dispense with all the head shaking.

ArAy, that's nonsense. I, along with many others said we should have replaced Lovren long before the window shut.
We pointed out that Matip and Gomez have patchy injury records and that we have relied on VVD too much. Guess what, we were spot on and it was neither hindsight nor a lucky guess.
Not replacing Lovren was lunacy going into such an intense season, that should have been prioritised over Jota or Thiago.

I would have also made the case before the season started that Diogo was not as needed as a new center back. But I also felt good about our chances with Virgil, Joe, Joel and Fab when necessary. It is definitely unfortunate, and quite likely caused by this disrupted and congested schedule (at least with Joe; VVD's was a horror tackle that should have been punished) . In the end, I'm exceedingly glad we made the move for Diogo. I imagine that Klopp looked at the youth players coming in behind (not Nat as he was on the way out, but Rhys, Billy, Sepp) and said we're well stocked, but he couldn't have expected both his starters would be out well before Christmas and that the other two would be carrying niggling/ reoccurring injuries as well. Just like he wouldn't have expected no fans in the stands in January of last year. Now is the time to adapt, the other players have to rise to the occasion and we as fans have to hope for the best knowing that we still have personnel worthy of filling those gaps in the squad.

So we should get rid klopp?because he failed to add a cb in the summer? We always move very quickly when the right player is available at the right time. This is no FM game you just get whoever you want.
