Hello Eds,
Is our interest in Ashley Williams true?
Also is it true Arsenal are interested in him aswell?
Really praying Arsenal win the race to sign him.
If BR needs an experienced CB so badly rather go for Dawson would cost around 6-8 million and is a much better player.
What do you reckon Ed could Dawson be an option? {Ed002's Note - Willaims has been done to death - I know of no interest in Dawson from Liverpool.}

Spurs fan here, there is absolutely no chance that maximus dawson would leave spurs!

Dawson, a few years ago would've been awesome.
Terrible run of injuries over the years has hurt him alot.

Terrific player, though.

Dawson is better than Williams

Anyone but Williams!

Dawson is not better than Williams lol I'm from swansea and been to watch the swans loads of times and haven't seen a centre half better than Williams u don't have a clue what your talking about!

My nephew has just informed me that he has read online somewhere that we may be interested in Felipe Santana, is there anything in this Ed? {Ed002's Note - Nothing, sorry Chris.}

Andros Townsend has been the shining light in a shambolic QPR team the last few weeks. It seems likely that Spurs would let him go for a decent fee, and unlikely that he'd want to sign permanently for the R's once they're relegated. Do you know of anyone that's shown an interest in the lad of late? Thanks in advance.
- S from Hawaii

They won't let him go! He's spurs mad and wouldn't want to leave!

I'd say, if his run of form continues, and he's really good enough to sign for us. Spur's'd have him back, wouldn't they?

Townsend isn't better than Downing

Le Parisien reports #Liverpool making an approach for PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti, today.

Wales

I would assume this would be for a role similar to director of football or something along those lines, I don't think that the owners will sack Rodgers.

Of ancelloti will be very flattered to be targeted by 7th placed in BPL

If it was another role and to keep Rodgers then that would be formidable but its veber an ideal world

Rodgers going nowhere

Haha, I'll have some of what he's having!

Received a txt thurs night saying that Rodgers had been sounded out for the City job next season & preliminary talks had taken place.
Anyone else heard anything similar?
I can't believe it myself, City would surely want somebody with a higher profile.
Just passing on what I'd received. {Ed002's Note - They have made approaches regarding the availability of four managers. Rodgers certainly is not one.}

As Director of Football it would be a good idea. Someone needs to advise Rodgers to sign some full size players. Rodgers must be given next season to deliver a trophy and a Champions League place. If not, then the owners should sack him.

They havnt said that at all. its been mentioned in an article that Liverpool and Arsenal would be possibles and contact has been made to Ancelottis Lawyer.
Its just lazy journalism and nothing solid.

Hi
I would really like Eriksen to move to Liverpool but it seems more unlikely. What do you think, and if he doesn't move to Liverpool where do you think he will go? Thanks

Tottenham Hotspur, who as yet don't know who he is, but will when we make a bid.

12 Apr 2013 12:27:09
to Spain. Or as with all our transfer targets this summer:

'They are all off to Spurs' LoL

Malak

Newcastle Liverpool or spurs.

Spurs! They have been linked to him longer than anyone! I'm told he will go their!

Liverpool bigger than Tottenham

Not any more!

12 Apr 2013 22:14:04
I thought Utd was always his first choice - and a good fit. If we can lure him it would be massive. After Spuds getting Holtby I'm not sure where CE fits there.

A great number of Tottenham's fans seem to think 4th place is equal to winning the league.

Tottenham are not ''bigger'' than Liverpool, their global fan base is dwarfed by Liverpool and Manchester United's.

Tottenham are enjoying fine form and have matured their youth very well since Levy moved in, but what have they won in their most successful period since the 80's?.

When Liverpool do not qualify for the Champions League it is seen as failure, when Tottenham do qualify for the Champions League it's seen as over achieving. Liverpool conquered Europe within the last decade, whereas Tottenham's fans are ecstatic just to qualify for it. That's the difference.

I think Tottenham have done very well for some time now but until they win cups they will never be bigger than the clubs that do. They play attacking and dynamic football which fans love to see but that doesn't win cups. At least win the minor European competition or even the League this century before the ''we're bigger than you'' conversation because statistically it's laughable.

I think they have a better written history than anyone! Yes your right their trophy history falls short of ours and united's! I certainly wouldn't say our world wide fan base dwarfs theirs, it probably isn't much but they have 5 su {Ed001's Note - hang on, a minute ago you were a Spurs fan, now what are you? Stop pretending, it is pathetic.}

Getting players like eriksen is not impossible, BR needs to convince him on the plans he has and the other players he will be bringing in.

ed002 le parisien are reporting today that ancelotti has been offered the Liverpool job for next season. Is this true? {Ed002's Note - It seems unlikely to me.}

12 Apr 2013 10:45:19
someone's had their nose at the powder puff again! Get used to it; BR is going no where!

Ed002 are you are to find out if this is true? obviously le parisien are extremely reliable {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it and as I said it seems really unlikely in my view, but there ws an enquiry made in November as we previously discussed.}

You know I love rogers but Ancelloti would be to great to turn down. Rodgers however can put Liverpool on his CV. I d be happy if he stayed but overjoyed if Carlo comes in

What as kit man lol

12 Apr 2013 16:18:26
all the hard work put in by brendan would be all for nothing if that happened, as much as I would like him as manager the time to make a lasting appointment was last year and under the circumstances brendan not getting the forward players he wanted, letting so many leave beyond his control imo he has done enough to have at least to the end of his contract to turn things around. Tommy Irish Red

Can't keep sacking managers

Ed002 I also think it seems unlikely, but I have read the article in le parisien and they categorically state that lfc have made a proposal to ancelotti's lawyer? {Ed002's Note - Ok.}

Malak, if you are around. I read your post regarding Suarez and BM and ED002's reply. Do you have any other info to share regarding transfers in or out mate?

Also ED002, with Devrij now seemingly become less of an option, and since no confirmation has been found regarding Williams, is Zambrano the only other CB LFC are following apart from Lovern?

The real AG {Ed002's Note - It would be no surprise if Liverpool were impressed with Toby Alderweireld's performances.}

12 Apr 2013 12:25:52
Hey mate, the only things I know about are: Liverpool scouts watched Zambrano against Bayern and that bayern are preparing a bid for Suarez.

Also different people in Egypt tell me we will follow Saleh Gomaa a (xabi alonso) type midfielder in the U21 world cup in June. But the same people say that also United and Arsenal will keep an eye on him. that's about it.
When the summer is closer I get many phone calls from old friends, if anything happens I will try to tell you and hopefully the ed can confirm or dismiss the news. Cheers
Have a nice weekend everyone!

Malak

Cheers Ed002. But, do you know of interest in Alderweireld? Is it it just a possibility that LFC could be interested?

The real AG {Ed002's Note - Toby Alderweireld still looks a likely canditate to replace William Gallas at Spurs in the summer. A bid from Anzi was rejected in January but his performances have continued to attract the attention of a number of clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Lyon, Inter and Juventus. It would be no surprise if Liverpool were impressed with his performances but am not aware that they have appoached his club at this time.}

Thanks Ed002 and Malak.

The real AG

ed002 do u think we will bid for ashley williams this summer? I find it shocking that the owners would agree to pay 12m as quoted in the press for a 29 year old who is not that good {Ed002's Note - I have not checked for about a month but at that point Liverpool had not approached Swansea about the player - but there does seem to be much speculation.}

I think he is certain to join!

Like I said 2 months ago. LFC will sign Williams.

RedSquirrel

Hope it is BS. Another Swansea purchase would be questionable by owners? Allen and Borini, together not worth £5m, ask Laudrup.

Purchasing Williams would be a shockingly poor move, he is at absolute best a third rate journeyman. He has limited experience of top class football, doesn't posess great pace & at 5'11" is somewhat short for a centre half. He is clearly several levels below the quality required to progress us, all our current centre backs are superior in both quality and experience. We will probably buy him for ridiculously inflated fee. Another master stroke by colossal buffoon Rodgers.

Andy Aintree.

A mediocre player who would disrupt the dressing room, I truly hope BR has more sense than that.

If he signs. Ancelotti in

Nothing surprises me at the moment with lfc

Hey Eds,
Not MOTD fever just wondering if Liverpool or any other teams have a interest in Dragovic of Basle knowing we are looking to stregnthing the defence and him only recently turning 22 is still young, seems to make sense. Expected him to leave Basle when Shaqiri and Xhaka left.

Thanks in advance,
LFC_G {Ed002's Note - There has been interest in Dragovic from Sunderland, Arsenal and Lille.}

Liverpool is definitely not Eriksen's first choice but I have been told that LFC are still very interested and that a bid will be made in the summer. Deano

He will turn it down, don't believe he is interested!

He probably will turn it down but it looks like LFC are going to give it a go.

12 Apr 2013 16:26:25
must be some player if we are only just an allright team. Tommy Irish red

It will be between Newcastle Liverpool and totenham. I suspect we may get him and alderwield if I'm being honest!

I've been reading that Fulham have shown interest in De Vrij. Would this really deter us from signing him? I surely hope it doesn't, he's a quality player who's still young.

I'm not sure how much he's valued at or likely to go for but surely it will be in the region of 10-14 million. I can't see him costing much more if anymore than that.

With reports coming out (whether they are true or not I don't know) that we have shown serious interest in Alderweireld, and are currently speaking with his agent.

We already know we've lost Carragher at the end of season and there's question marks over Skrtle's future as well as Coates'. This means we need at least two young promising defenders to arrive this summer.

If Skrtle is to leave I hope we can attract offers from the Russian league sides. We would benefit from a higher fee if this were the case. Hopefully a 10-15 million fee would be possible?

Other likely leavers in the summer I expect would include
Carroll, Assiaidi, Pacheco, Spearing and Downing. Potentially recouping us 30-32 million towards whatever FSG provide the manager.

I can seems bringing in 4-5 players this summer. Two defenders and two to three midfielders. I only say two to three as Rodgers may look to adding another striker.

I certainly wouldn't be complaining if we had a defensive unit consisting of Johnson, Agger, De Vrij, Alderweireld, Enrique, Kelly and Wisdom.

Midfield is far too difficult to try and even hazard a guess on who we will go for and even get.

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - Liverpool not pushing ahead is zip to do with Fulham.}

Hi Ed what is the reason we are not any longer showing any interest? Can you confirm if the Alderweireld stories are true or not?

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - I have already dealt with both matters as best I can and don't want to keep repeating myself.}

De Vrij is a no goer as James Pearce reported in Liverpool Echo that LFC are no longer interested. Echo does report that LFC want Williams and Toby Alderwereld.

Rodgers said Downing is to stay
