I read the article - didn't seem to say there was money to spend or if it was to sell to buy.

Klopp stating he wants to manage with the current team and that we have more strikers than most teams.

Klopp has a pretty fair assessment of the squad IMO.

JK says he is happy with current squad and not looking to buy in January. so unless this is a smokescreen, we won't be seeing any incomings and maybe not too many outgoings.

U dun really want to hang on every word klopp says. There is a timeline to everything. And the thing about good manager is he will be good poker player too when it comes to transfers and tactics.

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is neither a "smokescreen" nor is Klipperty lying. If the right player is avaialble at the right price I am sure that the club will see what can be done. What I don't expect is the spending on random players because the fans simply crave money to be spent (generally not caring who the money is spent on) - particularly on the "marquee" players likes Benteke and Firmino. If not, I would not expect too much to happen right now - and the rest of the season he will see what he wants to do to tweak the squad in the summer, get some reports and feedback on the youngsters and task someone with getting a much better look at some of the players on loan - others will already be assigned to be sold. In the interim he will continue to work withe scouting staff and the transfer committee.}

Well said Ed.

I just hope we don't bring players in for the sake of it. Either bring in a significant improvement on what we have or wait. If anything I hope we sell.

Just the best player avaliabke for the position he deems he wants to fill. Use the academy for other cover and promote someone like ward.

Ed do you see Subotic moving in Jan or the summer? You said there may well be an offer from Liverpool as a long term replacement for Toure.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Dortmund would be open to selling Subotic in January - whether or not there is a bid then is another matter.}

Reading Watford are in negotiations to loan Juan Iturbe for rest of season. Weren't we not looking at buying him under Rodgers?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No. Verona bought Iturbe 18 months ago for the purposes of profiteering - and a little side deal was also agreed with another club. There attempts to get an auction going drove most interested sides (Real Madrid, Chelsea, Napoli and Fiorentina) away from buying the player. Roma, Milan and Juventus discussed the player who settled on a move to Rome. Arsenal looked at the player but took it no further in the summer. Real Madrid and Chelsea were both approached by his representatives, who have fallen out with Roma, in the summer to see if they would be interested in a deal if Roma could be persuaded to sell. Schalke, Wolfsburg, Manchester City and Fiorentina may all maintain some interest. Borussia Dortmund have recently had him watched.

It has gone far from well for him at Roma and now they are looking to move him on with Verona willing to take him back on loan, and Watford, Bologna, Genoa, Watford and Sassuolo declaring an interest to either loan or buy the player. Inter, who are trying to do significant business without the necessary funds in January, have discussed an exchange.

None of this involves or has involved Liverpool.}

My mistake Ed thought I read it somewhere last year or summer.

{Ed002's Note - Probably the Daily Express.}

Hi eds, any idea y shaqiri pursuit was abandoned? He looks penetrative player we need. Or did he chose to go stoke instead of us?

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - what pursuit? We were not after him, he has attitude problems, which is why he struggled at his previous clubs and will do at Stoke. Talk about MOTD fever, he has had one good game and you are talking about how great he is, despite being awful in almost every other game, when fit.}

Ed already said for two years that Shaquiri was never a target.
