Hi eds, is there any interest in ter Stegen, Trapp or Karius? Thanks.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - ter Stegen is in Barcelona's match day squad and whilst he is not first choice they are unable to replace him, so a sale seems very unlikely. Trapp is subject to an offer that is proposing he move at the end of the season - obviously nothing to do with Liverpool. Mainz's Loris Karius signed a new contract regardless of interest from Arsenal, Schalke, Benfica, Borussia Dortmund and Valencia. Try searching on RUDDY and you will find out the latest I know of regarding goalkeepers that Liverpool have considered.}

12 Jan 2015 18:23:30
Saw the word Ruddy and a bit of vomit came up, we are so poor at transfers.

He is an appalling keeper, not good enough for Everton and ships goals at an alarming rate, you have to ask questions of the scouting team if they consider that Neto, Ruddy and Perrin are the answer to our keeper issues as they all have the same problems and more.

Neto is poor with his feet, lacks physical presence and crosses, Ruddy is as mobile as tank, poor shot stopper and poor on crosses and Perrin has no physical presence, is poor on crosses and his kicking is poor.

If this is the best they can come up with then we are in trouble. Marvellous.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It was simply a word that could be searched on and give a hit.}

To be honest wasn't impressed with the others either, all Ochoa is a YouTube keeper as is the Argentinian lad. Thankfully Valdez has gone to Man U, still remember when Chelsea have Valdez some English treatment and he looked appalling. Honestly think our scouts have a blind spot in certain positions.

Eds I assume Barca don't view any of their B team keepers as good enough for the bench? Not that you would know the managers thoughts but just incase you heard anything.

Ter Stegen is far too good to sit on the bench in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - they view the bench as the place for a keeper good enough to provide long term cover if the first choice gets injured or to take over if he loses form. They can't go out and buy one if either of those things happen.}

Hey Eds,
Any ideas where Andrea Ranocchia's future lies? Must be plenty of interested parties?

Thanks a bill!

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Ranocchia has attracted the recent interest of Borussia Dortmund as they continue to look at centre backs. Galatasaray are known to have spoken with Inter about the player at a meeting in December when a number of clubs explored potential future transfers - I am pretty sure that those discussions went nowhere. The summer saw both Juventus and Spurs consider Andrea Ranocchia and both could potentially be interested again should he come up for sale.}

Thank you very much for the detailed answer. :)

Assaidi to team from Dubai completed at anfield today, as I said last week, frees up another big wage. Good luck Ossy another talented player like suso who never got a fair chance.

Believable19 Unbelievable9

{Ed001's Note - Al Ahli isn't it?}

12 Jan 2015 16:21:27
I don't think Assaidi would have been on a very big wage in comparison to other signings considering the fee he came from and the club.

Agree1 Disagree0

We seem to have made a profit of about double so that suits me down to the ground!

12 Jan 2015 20:28:01
Assaidi could not hold down a starting position at Stoke. He will not be missed.

12 Jan 2015 21:40:22
Wouldn't be on a big wage. Didn't really get a chance but obviously wasn't good enough - poor poor scouting again!

Are LFC looking to move on Andre Wisdom in the summer? Thanks.

Believable3 Unbelievable38

12 Jan 2015 17:21:08
Does anyone else think he would be ideal for this back 3

Agree2 Disagree1

12 Jan 2015 20:20:40
Surely not? Move Johnson on and keep wisdom and manquillo Innit? Come to think of it, why loan out wisdom and then get manquillo on loan? At some point there has to be some incentive given to the better young players at the club.

Hey eds again after reading the newspaper dribble just wanted to check with you if reports were true about neto not renewing his contract it didn't say liverpool were in for him like most reports but something about a deal with juve for giovinco but are we willing to meet his 2m valuation after all we haven't sold anyone and is he really the commanding keeper liverpool need

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I provided an update on all of the GKs LFC have looked at last week - search on Neto.}

12 Jan 2015 14:26:26
Here is a side question for you, probably not true, but heard that lfc are in for Ross Barkley of Everton as a replacement for Steven Gerrard. He is obviously talented, but going from Everton and straight to liverpool would be a shock. Do we hold interest or are the journalists making stuff up again?

Believable16 Unbelievable16

{Ed002's Note - See previous answer please.}

12 Jan 2015 13:30:40
Hi All

I believe Mario Balotelli will be on his way to Juventus or Sampdoria. Only loan deal though.

Lambert is of interest to Crystal Palace and West Brom but we would need a striker to come in first before allowing Lambert to go as well.

Higuain I feel is unrealistic as we don't buy big name players, we make them!

Expect Berahino or Origi in this Jan.

The only information about goal keeprs I can find is Romero, who apparently we have had interest in for a while.

Hi Eds,

Rumors now linking us with Ross Barkley which seem ridiculously unlikely although wouldn't mind it happening and does fit the way we play and how BR likes his players - Do you know if he is heading out of Everton?

Thanks

Believable6 Unbelievable22

{Ed002's Note - I really would not hold your breath over Ross Barkley joining Liverpool any time soon.}

12 Jan 2015 14:08:11
Eds out of interest are there any Everton players past or present who are reds fans? In the opposite way to Fowler and Carragher.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know but I am sure others will. If you want to start listing them it will need a separate thread.}

12 Jan 2015 20:14:02
I heard he is a fan though! Would cost a bomb too so don't see it happening but would love it too

hey eds
what are the realistic chances of Liverpool signing anyone and who is most to be siged

Believable4 Unbelievable8

{Ed001's Note - realistic chances? These kind of questions are pointless. Do you want bookmaker odds or something?}

12 Jan 2015 08:02:32
Hi eds, a player I thought we should have gone for in the summer was Jovetic, now he appears up sale, any interest/chance? thanks

Believable1 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - No, his future looks well enough mapped out already.}

12 Jan 2015 12:20:19
If we're to buy another striker it needs to be one that can stay fit.

12 Jan 2015 12:29:43
hi eds what re the chance of Liverpool signing anyone in this window and who is most likely to be signed

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - I would say evens. Depends on who goes out.}

14 Jan 2015 16:15:35
I'd take Jovetic in a heartbeat (just him and Origi in place of Borini, Lambert and Ballotelli is the thing of my dreams!), he would compliment Sturridge or challenge him for his position upfront. You'd hope e could keep one of them fit at any given time?

Hi Ed002,
it`s been probably done to death but bear with me for this one last time in the subject of a new goalkeeper if you may. Is there any chance of Casillas or Begovic joining in the near future? thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has shown no interest in them. What can you reasonably expect me to say?}

12 Jan 2015 01:48:37
I have just been told by a chairman of a German Club that Ralf Rangnick is under consideration for Liverpool Director of Football Role as is the Wolfsburg DOF Klaus Allofs. Ralf Rangnick has a good relationship and admiration for Klopp who works under a Director of Football at Dortmund- Michael Zorc.

Just passing on what I've been told. YNWA

Hi ed01 can I ask if the club are actively negotiating or looking to keep Johnson and toure or are we happy for them to leave come the summer. Also same question regarding Enrique and skrtel as the will only have year left come the summer. My thoughts were that they would already be negotiating if we wanted to keep them

Believable8 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - Johnson has not received an offer, he was always expected to leave in the summer. He was told that he would have to take a major pay cut to get a new contract, which he was not willing to do. No one was interested in the wages he was asking for, or he would have been sold in the summer.
Toure we tried to move on in the summer, nothing has changed there, Rodgers doesn't intend to keep him and the club feel there are enough centre backs without him.
Enrique we want out. His attitude has not been right.
Skrtel is a difficult one, for some reason he has won Rodgers over, but he wants too much money, so it is possible he stays but he would need to lower his wage demands. It really does depend on who is in charge when the review is completed. They might wish to keep him.}

11 Jan 2015 19:16:34
Hi ed01 regarding the goalkeeping situation is there still interest in begovic even though he spurned the chance previously as by the summer he will only have a year left on contract. Is he open to staying with Stoke or has he other options. I can't imagine they will let him leave for nothing the following year. I also see trapp in the same situation one year left come the summer so may be available. Finally can I ask your opinion on my choice to replace gerard. The captain from Valencia Parejo he is another who will have a year left on contract come the summer

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware, we have moved on to look at other targets, but we wouldn't need to have him watched especially to keep tabs on him. All the other teams in the Prem are watched on a regular basis to prepare for matches against them, so he could easily have his file updated then. He is open to leaving now, they are also open to moving him on and giving Butland the chance, but probably not until the summer.

As for Parejo, he was one of interest to us in the summer, but we got Can instead. I know we are still keeping tabs on him, but the price they are asking has so far kept all potential suitors away.}
