Hey Ed's and fellow reds, hope you are all doing ok under the circumstances. I have not been able to check on the site much recently as have been crazy busy at work.

A massive thanks to ed002, your detailed responses to questions and your knowledge is unmatched. One quick question if I may, I see our one major weakness being back up gk. I would spend the little money we have fixing this issue. Any thoughts ed and are we looking for an upgrade? Then if we manage to sell some players and reduce the wage bill we can maybe look to strengthen other areas later.

{Ed002's Note - Adrian (G) has a year to run on his contract but Real Betis would like Liverpool to release him for free this summer - but the club would prefer him to stay - and I expect him the stay and perhaps next year it becomes a priority.}

Not the answer I was hoping for but thanks for the answer.

{Ed002's Note - The club also has Kelleher and Grabara.}

Karius has recently come out and said he wants to stay and fight for the keeping position, do you think we will even contemplate him staying next season or are we actively trying to move him on.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool will look to move him on if they can - and don't forget the club has to comply with the non-HG limit.}

I don’t see this as a priority. Adrian is ok for the job. Not many sides have two absolutely top drawer keepers. Look at City, they’ve got Ederson and Bravo, Bravo is a dodgy keeper at best and it’s fair comment that Adrian is a far better than him.

Adrian is a good back up keeper, who is better is going to come to sit on the bench? the Atletico game aside Adrian has done a good job and its harder for sub keepers as they rarely get game time to sharpen up.

Thanks for the info Eds, who looks more ready for the first team, Kelleher and Grabara? I remember reading Grabara is the Polish U21 keeper and is quite highly rated if memory serves.

{Ed002's Note - I understand both are well thought of - the same age and both are Home Grown.}

In my opinion having watched both. Whilst in youth teams. I always felt Grabara was the better of the 2. And seemed to look more imposing than Kellacher. But at their age. It can swing quickly!

Adrian seems like a great guy but there’s no way he’s up the standard unfortunately. Don’t forget we went our of two cup competitions in the space of a week before the break, due to his errors.

Barring Romero at United, Adrian is at least as good as if not better than most number two keepers in the premier league, not a position that is worth spaffing a load of money on given the dire financial situation that we are in.

I’d say gazzaniga is better than Adrian too.

But again, he’s an ok backup and it’s hardly a priority right now.
