Hi Ed001

Wondering if you can provide a transfer update? players we have a high interest in players that could be leaving etc

Hope all is well on your end

Thanks.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Likely Outs: Bogdan, Markovic, Flanagan, Sakho, Wisdom, Randall.
Possibly Outs: Mignolet, Moreno, Lucas, Stewart, Sturridge.

Ins: likely is a left back, Sessegnon now looks unlikely sadly, Tierney is being priced out of reach (he seems keen to stay at Celtic for now as well), Gaya could well be an option as he is available, Theo Hernandez is another we have looked at. Personally I would go for Dortmund's Guerreiro as he would then provide cover on the left wing as well, but I don't expect there is any chance of him being an option.
Central midfield: We are looking at the likes of Obiang and Nzonzi. Keita of RB Leipzig is another. There are a few others I am forgetting but it has been a long day sorry and I am not fully awake.
Winger/wide forward: Emil Forsberg was mentioned to me as a genuine possibility but I think that is wishful thinking, plus he is more of a central striker. A Belgian football coach told me Izquierdo of Bruges is of interest to us, but I don't know any more than him saying that. Seeing as the Colombian has no international caps I am not sure if there is any chance of that happening. Off the top of my head I honestly can't think of who else was put forward. I would be extremely happy with Forsberg, he has been outstanding for RB Leipzig.
Possibles are a back up keeper, centre back and right back. None of those are likely right now, they will depend a lot on outs.}

I love the top work the eds do on this site so please don't take this the wrong way but your list eds1 seems at odds with eds2 or has the list been updated since the last sharkopod cheers in advance lads keep up the great work ps I know there's a couple of same players on it but a lot different too.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I am trying to put forward other options that he has not mentioned, rather than just repeating stuff. Where I can at least. Plus we have totally different sources, so I am getting what scouts and coaches are saying, while he is getting it from directors etc.}

13 Apr 2017 20:19:00
Awesome Ed!
Sessegnon is unlikely because he just signed a new contract?
Thanks!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - more because Fulham are unlikely to sell to us.}

13 Apr 2017 20:30:05
Cheers ed1 thanks for the response and the great work and if I can be cheeky and ask out of all the players mentioned between yourself and eds2 which ones would you like us to sign.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Pereira makes a lot of sense as he can play left and right back. Forsberg I really like, having looked at him a lot since he was mentioned to me. I don't know about in midfield, I was impressed with Obiang in the few times I saw him, but I never saw enough to know if he was a good option. I can't think who Ed002 mentioned in midfield to choose from.}

13 Apr 2017 20:35:22
Tnx to both Ed's 1&2 and all other Ed's.

Highly appreciate your inputs and knowledge.

Cheers.

Agree9 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome man.}

13 Apr 2017 20:46:57
Is there any strikers you like.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Forsberg is a striker really, but he can play wide as well.}

13 Apr 2017 20:48:24
Sell to us Ed002 or any team ( Sessegnon )

Also, could a deal not be better done, if we signed him and left him where he was for a season or two?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It will be possible but much more difficult for Liverpool over other sides.}

13 Apr 2017 22:00:22
Is that due to our dealings with the Dempsey deal?

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Apr 2017 22:43:02
I would be over the moon if we could get Guierrerro. He was outstanding against Monaco yesterday. Keita, Well he is truly a Kante. Fosberg reminds me of Errikson. These three players will take us to the next level.

Agree2 Disagree1

13 Apr 2017 23:13:02
Obiang, I'd rather have 2017 razor Ruddock.

13 Apr 2017 23:05:44
Wow. A great insight eds. Interest remain in Dembele of Celtic? Is it possible?

Agree3 Disagree0

13 Apr 2017 20:58:30
Cheers again eds1 great to share in your knowledge.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome mate.}

13 Apr 2017 22:44:43
This read doesn't fill me with an abundance of confidence Ed1.Not saying there are a lack of so called "big names mentioned" more a case of not landing the targets we are looking at. If we make the CL next season then adding quality ( over quantity ) to the team is a must don't you think?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is very rare any team gets the targets they actually go for as first choice. Kante was third or fourth choice for instance.}

14 Apr 2017 00:34:39
Have you seen enough of Keita to form an opinion ed001?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - only seen him a couple of times, but he did look outstanding those games.}

14 Apr 2017 03:12:21
Eds, what is your opninion on theo hernandez? A good left back?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - average at left back for me, from what I saw. Looks dodgy defensively but good going forward.}

14 Apr 2017 06:29:03
This is confusing; Ed001 mentions there is interest in Obiang and Ed002 mentions that LFC have NO interest in him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - we have 100% had him looked at a few times, a lot more than if we had no interest at all. It could be simply that, having looked at him, it has been decided further up the chain that he is not what we are looking for. I don't know, I am going by scouts and what West Ham staff have told me. The only time to know for sure is when the transfer window comes and we either ignore them or move for them, from my end these days. Most of the staff who passed over information to me at the higher end are no longer at the club these days.}

14 Apr 2017 06:40:06
We one of those already and we got one who can't defend or go forward.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Apr 2017 07:20:45
Thanks Ed001! These are the kind of posts we all live off.

Have you heard anything on Brandt or Moussa Dembele?

Sorry, at the risk of sounding thick, are Fulham unlikely to sell Sessegnon to us due to what happened with the kid from Stoke?

I'd love to get him personally, but certainly wouldn't be annoyed with either Gaya or Pereira.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Brandt, I have nothing to add over and above what Ed002 has already said. Dembele looks to be one we don't go for due to his demands over first team football. He has the potential to be brilliant, but he has had a fair few indifferent games of late. I doubt it will be us willing to give him assurances, even if we did, I am not so sure they would be enough for him.

Partially that is a problem, but it is also our actions in the past with regards to transfers. We need to rebuild some bridges there, as the club have not yet forgiven us for the tapping up of Dempsey.

I really like Gaya, don't know why, but each time I see him he looks too good for that Valencia side. It is hard to tell though, as the whole team there is shambolic at times.}

14 Apr 2017 08:49:53
Forsberg a striker? Think you got your players mixed up a bit. He is definitely a winger. Were you thinking of Dolberg (Ajax) perhaps?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - well he was playing as a striker in games I watched recently. He also said in an interview I watched at the weekend that he likes playing as a striker. Why on earth would I be thinking of Dolberg? No idea where you got that insane idea from.}

14 Apr 2017 09:43:27
Hey ed, cheers for the update, it is much appreciated!
Two questions:
1. Have you heard if you are keeping tabs on Leon Goretzka? It is rumoured he will be leaving this summer, and I like his potential.
2. There was increased noise in the media that we will be targeting Virgil van Dike from sources that used to be reliable in the past, though I wouldn't be very sure now. If the club has decided to replace one of the CBs, could you mention what other players we are monitoring for that position?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - 1. Try the search engine. 2. There is a lot of interest in van Dijk - if Liverpool were to move a CB on they might be interested but he will be very expensive.}

14 Apr 2017 12:28:31
Seen Keita a few times he looked very good, would be very happy with that. Van dijk would be good, strong and quick, but not sure he's 50 million good. Better than stones for sure, and an improvement on lovren, I guess that's what you have to spend nowadays though.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Apr 2017 12:35:21
Berg and Berg, both scandinavian, both mentioned in regards to LFC.

Forsberg have always played as a winger before, might have been tried as an attacker at RB, but Werner has to be their first choice there, when fit. I'd try Poulsen as a central attacker on that side ahead of Forsberg.

I see a lot of Freddie Ljungberg in him, actually. Smart runs, hard work, can finish. But Forsberg is better at creating chances for others, and can shoot from some distance.

If we get him as a option at CF I'd be a bit surprised. He might be able to be a lightweight Firmino, and get the pressing part right, but other than that I'm not sure. Great option on the wing though, if we're adding depth there.

Agree1 Disagree1

14 Apr 2017 14:34:31
The CB would need to be one of the 4 who are in the squad and not Sakho right?

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Apr 2017 15:32:23
Only was saying to you ed1 about nzonzi as no one else has asked and its certainly the first time I've seen it mentioned here, is it just Liverpool having had him watched or could I get a little bit excited here? I would really like him in our midfield could play in any of the 3 positions for me! Cheers.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Two sides (not Liverpool) have spoken to Sevilla about N'Zonzi to get a price and to understand if he would be available in the sumemr and to understand what price would be asked. The price given was above the release clause in his contract but Seville has made no secret that they would be open to profiting from the sale of Steven N'Zonzi.}

Eds i would just like to echo the gratitude that has been given above. Genuinley appreciate all the knowledge and insight you all share on this site but Ed1 and Ed2 in particular without you 2 we would all be stuck reading the same old rubbish the internet has to offer! By far the best site on the tinterweb! I guess Ed25 isn't too bad either considering he's a bitter.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - moi..bitter? never GBB, my problem is that i tell the truth and the red tinted bespectacled brigade dont like to hear that mate, but im like a superhero fighting for truth, justice and the everton way.. :)

15 Apr 2017 14:56:30
I'll echo GBB's comments here - the level of input, insight and information on here is second to none, massive thank you to all the ed's - this is the only website I bother visiting when it copmes to information related to football, there is a good reason for that.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Thnaks man.}

13 Apr 2017 13:03:51
Eds any truth in our interest in Obiang? Haven't watched him this season at all, where would he fit in our midfield?

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - No, Liverpool has not shown any interest in him.}

12 Apr 2017 21:43:58
Hi ed01 if your around please tell me we will not be signing the ox. I know ed02 will say typical Liverpool fan slating potential signings but to me he is the epitome of what is wrong with English players and arsenals current crisis. He is part of a team which has downed tools for there manager whose achievements are up there with the best. This is exactly what I fear from creeping into our side as we lack the big driven character s needed to take us to the next step. Clubs are rewarding young English players and taking the hunger from dem by putting them on huge contracts when they haven't achieved anything eg lingard at united.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - I don't know of any interest in him, this is just paper talk as he is being linked with all and sundry due to not being good enough to hold down a place in that Arsenal side.}

13 Apr 2017 10:37:40
I think he would be a good signing, he's got versatility, pace and he has ran more than any other arsenal player this season if klopp can get him working like a Trojan I'd take ox, 35 million is abit daft though i give you that.

Agree3 Disagree18

13 Apr 2017 17:42:53
Pace? He's not as quick as Mane and he's got little in the way intelligence on the ball and runs into blind alleys. Running around a lot and achieving nothing but injuries is great at Arsenal but not wanted here.
