Ed002 or any eds who may know.

Can you shed any light on the recent fekir rumours. I know 002 said not to rule him out. So I'm just wondering if something has happened or has someone put 2 and 2 together and come up with 5.

Cheers.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - It is as I have explained - don't rule him out.}

13 Jun 2019 16:49:12
Reports in France saying we are interested English reports saying we are not and haven't been since the deal went dead. Best thing to do is sit back and just wait if we don't surely we have other targets in mind. Liverpool doing it the old way and keeping everything behind closed doors.

Wish we would go for bruno Fernandes, very much like Bernardo Silva, would be exactly wat we need.

Agree5 Disagree5

13 Jun 2019 17:33:52
If Fekir does sign this time could we use the LFC footage that was recorded last year or do we have a 2019 version instead?

Recycling is good for the planet after all.

Agree17 Disagree1

13 Jun 2019 17:38:03
If fakir had a dodgy knee before and we pulled out of the deal why would we buy him now? I hope we do buy him but I thought it was an old injury showing up on scan.

Agree5 Disagree7

13 Jun 2019 17:45:57
I'm not sure how people struggle with this so much. We messed around Lyon on price because of his injury. Here we are now a year later, he's had an up and down year (probably because of the collapsed move, which happened after he'd already done his interview! ), he's got one year left on his contract so presumably the club now think they can get him a more realistic price given his "issues".

Agree15 Disagree2

13 Jun 2019 20:22:38
In my opinion and understanding (eds please correct me if I’m wrong) Liverpool were right to ask for a lower fee. Full medical details should be provided by the selling club. During a medical they spotted a knee injury they weren’t told about. Hear it all the time in reference but - if you bought a car and the past owner hadn’t told you the head gasket was on the way out you’d return it or ask for a lower price, no? Also ups nd down season? 9 goals 7 assists? And a decent champions league. He’d be a great addition. But I do wonder what that means for Keïta or Ox.

Midfielders;
Milner
Lallana
Ox
Keïta
Wijnaldum
Fabinho
Henderson
Grujic
Fekir***
Curtis Jones? - made the bench and a few apps, few more this season maybe?

Realistically how many of them midfielders will Still in Liverpool players next season?

Agree5 Disagree1

13 Jun 2019 20:37:24
All of them Davies apart from Grujic.

Agree2 Disagree4

13 Jun 2019 20:41:34
His club are touting him about and suggesting other clubs are interested just to increase the money they can get for him. I don't think there's anything in it.

Agree0 Disagree2

13 Jun 2019 21:55:59
I’d say we could sign him, next best option for us after Brandt went to Dortmund. If he does come I think Lallana will go.

Agree2 Disagree1

13 Jun 2019 22:44:49
I was just about to say. It's both Grujic and Lallana that I expect to leave. Even after Lallana has said he's staying, I think the club will move him on for anything received over his purchase price.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - ten bob and a dead mouse would be fair..

13 Jun 2019 22:51:29
Still gets in your team Ed😛.

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed025's Note - your having a giraffe virgil, tom davies cant get in our midfield mate so how the hell lallana gets in is beyond me..

14 Jun 2019 00:38:40
To be fair sigurdsson has that place nailed down - the one that Lallana would go for. At least he’s fairly consistent goal scorer. Useless when not in the middle though.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jun 2019 12:24:31
The inflation of player values is incredible in the English game though, if you think about it. Buy a player, use him for 5 years, and then sell him for more than what you paid. Ludicrous and against all conventional thinking.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2019 23:51:36
come on Ed25, Lallana is not a bad player, unfortunate for him he had a season to forget last year . but I expect him to bounce back . but I don't think there is place him at Liverpool, At his age if he wants first team football then he needs to move on . Everton is a good fit.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we are trying to get rid of dead wood roy not buying it, hes too lightweight for everton mate and has seen better days, in his pomp he was a half decent player but sadly that time has well gone..

14 Jun 2019 11:44:04
This isn’t a dig Ed25 but I honestly can’t think of 1 Everton player that’s as good as Lallana at his best. He was England’s best player a couple of years ago mate.
From what I’ve seen of Tom Davies he tries hard but is lacking in the necessary talent to be top drawer.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - i think gomes, gylfi and bernard are way above anything adam can muster these days BP, he has never in his life ever been englands best player though mate...unless your glasses are tinted red..

14 Jun 2019 18:53:37
I don’t see any of those players being better than Lallana I’m afraid Ed. Unless your glasses are tinted blue.
A couple of years ago Lallana had started to score some goals for club and country and was easily England’s best player. I can’t believe you would deny that. Some people have very short memories I suppose.
Bottom line, Everton could do with his quality right now because there not much quality anywhere else in the squad ;-)

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - its all about opinions BP, the thing is how the hell does he get into our midfield when he cant get into yours?, you must put work horses ahead of skillful players is the only excuse i can think of mate..

13 Jun 2019 14:41:43
Hey Eds n Reds, can any of you advise as to whether Roma have formally registered any interest with us for Karius?

A story from Fontomac in Italy is listed on the Echo news feed for today.

As a follow up, are the terms of Kariius's loan deal with Besiktas such that it can be broken by us (if we get an offer for his permanent placement, for example)?

Thank you!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - If Roma are interested they need to speak with Besiktas and Liverpool. The loan could potentially be bought out. Roma has a failing goalkeeper and interest in replacing him and have to my knowledge three goalkeepers on their list - not including Karius. They also have a new coach but there is a strong chance of a significant change happening there which may put everything on hold for a short-while.}

13 Jun 2019 17:10:27
OK, thanks for the info Ed002 :)

I'm not guessing, just passing on the first ever bit of info I've received.
My source is a football agent who used to work out of a football agency in Hammersmith. He's an old friend from school, bumped into him for the first time in few years yesterday.
Not sure if his info is reliable or not, suppose the next couple of days will verify that but he did seem very sure.
Fingers crossed though.

Hahaha, very reliable Echo. Good one. :)

Agree12 Disagree1

13 Jun 2019 14:09:28
It’s fairly obvious that it would sign he would be number 18 as that’s his current number and it’s available as Moreno has left. Don’t try and make out it’s some inside scoop.

Agree0 Disagree6

13 Jun 2019 14:14:34
Jurgen it was sarcasm mate about the Echo lol.

Agree5 Disagree2

13 Jun 2019 14:14:50
The same ‘reliable’ Echo is today saying we are interested and a deal is being mooted. Apparently we are wanting to deal at €30m and they want €50m. We have apparently agreed a 5 year contract at £70k a week with his reps.

But, this is all based on various French journalists, so nothing is confirmed.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Jun 2019 14:26:32
Why would they do a deal with us Zeddicus? They certainly won’t do us any favours with the way we messed them about last year.

Agreed a five year contract with his reps but we’ve not even approached his Club and no offer has been made as per Ed002. Its all BS I’m afraid.

Agree2 Disagree4

13 Jun 2019 14:32:31
Aha! Gotcha Virgil. Having a slow brain day.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2019 14:50:05
The Echo and 'reliable' should never, ever be used in the same sentence.

Agree3 Disagree0

13 Jun 2019 15:42:36
Not saying it’s not BS, Virgil, but is plausible.

Klopp gets his man - see your namesake.

Why would they deal with us? Because maybe Fekir wants to play for us an no one else (a la VVD) and Aulas’s alternative is to have a dissatisfied player on his books in the last year of his contract who could join us for free next summer, agreeing a deal in Jan.

Why would we pay now? Because we were a gnats whisker away from the title and Klopp May see Fekir as part of the solution to close that very small gap.

Why would we agree terms first? Ed002 has said that clubs talk to agents all the time. Makes sense to have an idea that the player wants to play for us and his deal is both affordable and acceptable to the club.

So, it could still be BS, but it is all plausible.

Agree13 Disagree0

13 Jun 2019 16:34:06
I think he will sign. I hope so too.

Agree4 Disagree0

13 Jun 2019 16:39:22
Unless the team intends to use him as a winger, he'd be joining a midfield that already includes Ox, Keita, Fabinho, Hendo, Wini, and Milner. That doesn't include Lallana who I don't expect to play. I don't see it happening unless one of those players leave.

Could it happen? Sure, but I would expect a corresponding move as well.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Jun 2019 16:55:55
dbav. He could also cover Firmino in the false 9 role. A role which none of the other midfielders we've been linked with seem to have the ability to do.

So he'd be joining as a midfielder with the ability to cover CF.

13 Jun 2019 19:47:02
Thanks Potato.

15 Jun 2019 11:05:33
Fekir more of a attacker then midfield tbh, so he can be a decent back up to bobby. Or ad number 10 the way couthino was. Play a 4 2 3 1.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2019 11:47:45
More on Nabil Fekir.

Acc. to Nicolò Schira, Liverpool have reignited their interest in Nabil Fekir and have offered him a contract until 2024. Aulas wants €50m for the player.

Acc. to Romain Collet-Gaudin, Liverpool are interested in Nabil Fekir but would not want to pay €50m, but a sum closer to €30m.

13 Jun 2019 11:50:27
Who are these guys reporting it? Why would Lylnbe willing to accept a lower fee?

Agree1 Disagree7

13 Jun 2019 12:07:27
Money aside. I would like to see him at Liverpool he's a good player and was really keen to join us last year.
When does he contact run out eds1?

{Ed001's Note - next summer I believe.}

13 Jun 2019 12:17:17
*Lyon.

Agree0 Disagree2

13 Jun 2019 12:54:00
Nabil Fekir cost would definitely b between 15M-30M pounds. Aulas can't play much more games on this transaction. The guy has only one year on his contract and he knows it is difficult to hold on to a player whose mind is at Anfield having seen his stats decreased last season.
Also, for the doubters you should understand Klopp by now. He wouldn't go for second alternative. Expect Fekir Jurgen Kloop's unfinished business. Once the deal is done don't expect much from the Boss. Y. W. N. A.

Agree3 Disagree2

15 Jun 2019 11:04:19
For me, I think that Ziyech is the better option, no knee problems can be bought for £25mn and has had a stellar season. I think he already fits the klopp identity with how similar Ajax play to we do. Plus can play centrally in midfield aswell as wide.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jun 2019 14:32:03
I'd prefer fekir myself, ziyech is a nice player yes but I just think fekir has a bit more aggression and suited to us. Ziyech could struggle a bit in England, a player like him loves time on the ball that the Dutch league is perfect for. Tadic was the same for years before he came to England, and now the same he's getting goals galore. Ziyech all round has less suited PL qualities that fekir would offer.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2019 08:22:44
Yes, LFC is ready to sign the midfield maestro Nabil Fekir from Lyon, before July. So, let us keep our fingers crossed.

It's not hype, just because you don't know where it's come from doesn't mean it isn't so. If you read the posts you would know Ed002 confirmed we could go back in for him.

Agree4 Disagree0

13 Jun 2019 11:48:22
55m for a guy we can sign for free in January. We waited it out with Keita might as well do it with him.

Agree3 Disagree1

13 Jun 2019 12:05:29
Unless I've missed something, apologies if I have, but pretty sure Ed002 only said don't rule out us making a bid. Which to me means that he is an option that we may reconsider but nothing more then that at the minute.

Unless it is all just a smokescreen ;)

I can’t remember exactly how much but we paid a fair bit for the ox with not much left on he’s contract and no one says anything about that anymore. You get what you pay for. if klopp wants him we will pay the money if not we move on. Simples!

Jurgen Klopp is keen on adding three players to his team.
1.Harry Wilson
2.Ryan Kent
3.Marko Grujic

Dont shoot me, But, I decided to look inward only because I know JP likes to get his players early in the transfer window. Also,we won't be signing as much players as we did last season.YNWA

Agree9 Disagree3

13 Jun 2019 08:59:53
In order for Liverpool to bring in a new midfielder, some players will need to leave. Adding Wilson, Kent and Grujic to the squad would give Liverpool about 16 midfielders, which is not realistic.

13 Jun 2019 01:01:33
Some French Journo’s are now suggesting Liverpool FC have renewed their interest in Nabil Fekir, however a significantly lower fee would be required for any potential deal to happen.

Have a good evening all.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

13 Jun 2019 04:00:27
I hope we sign him, we wanted him last year and obviously it never happened, im sure he would jump at the chance to sign for us should the chance come again, he fits the bill for what we need so its fingers crossed from me we get this signing done, he offers something different from all of our current midfielders and could provide the magic that turns draws into wins.
