Ed what do you think of chelsea's fabio borini? could be worth a punt as he seems like a young talent, only 19! {Ed002's Note - I expect he will head off to Italy. Chelsea were happy to keep him as a "hot spare" but he wanted somewhat more.}

Have it on good info that Comolli has been in contact with Leighton Baines' agent after agreeing a fee with Everton.

Redjinal {Ed001's Note - we tried for Benzema in January, so we wouldn't be keeping a close eye preceding a move on him as a move has already been made.}

What actually happened then? Did Real reject the bid or was it the playing guarantees that he wanted.

Anyway onto rumours:

Balazs Dzsudzsak
Dimitri Payet
Gervinho
Guilleme Hoarau
Yann M'Vila
Taye Taiwo
Jose Enrique
Eljero Elia
Arda Turan

Are high on LFC's radar. {Ed001's Note - Higuain got injured.}

If aguero moves I think personally (not backed up by sources, just my opinion) that he will go to chelsea

Pasted from the Bleacher Report but makes interesting reading. . . . Liverpool have been linked with speculation surrounding a 35m bid for Udinese's Alexis Sanchez. It has been revealed that an English club, believed to be Liverpool, have made a huge offer for the highly rated winger ahead of the summer transfer window.
Udinese chairman Franco Soldati has claimed that an early official bid has been made for the player with rumours circulating that the bid originated from Anfield where Dalglish & co. are looking to add highly rated young talent.

I'm 100% certain that this will not happen. Sanchez will go to chelsea in summer as previously discussed on these hallowed pages

Just read on goal.com that King Kenny has been offered a 2 year contract. Seems a little short for me, but maybe it's for the better if there is some pressure to produce results. Time to get behind him and the team, hope for a good summer of signings, and Prem. League title next summer :-) ra1969@usa.com

According to some sites, man utd have made a "discrete offer" for yann m'vila. Do you you know who he'd rather move to and what are our chances now to sign him {Ed005's Note - He's said his dream is Liverpool, only to then say it is Real Madrid, then to say it is Man Utd. I think he mentioned AC Milan and Arsenal in there also.}

13 Mar 2011 14:26:14
Ed, what players do you want to arrive in the summer? And what are the chances of them coming out of 10? {Ed005's Note - Marveaux seems pretty much done now. I think A.Young is about 7.5/10, Adam is about the same, we have a good chance of M'Vila - perhaps about 7/10. I really don't know who else mate, it is impossible to say who will arrive. Benzema, Payet, Gervinho, Dzsudzsak and Hoarau are all players who have been looked at.}

13 Mar 2011 14:38:39
Ed, Hummels or Subotic, who is better? Who is cheaper? {Ed005's Note - I would say that Subotic is better. Based on that perhaps Hummels would be cheaper?}

13 Mar 2011 14:51:17
Hey ed why are you so sure we will get young it looks as though to me as turan is more likly being availible in the summer and uniteds interest in young

Also which left back are we most likely to get in your view {Ed005's Note - We made an offer for Young in the January transfer window and it is likely we'll move again in the Summer - especially as he'll only have a year left on his deal. At the moment there is interest from Man Utd but ours is more serious hence the offer. But Turan will also be available in the Summer.}

13 Mar 2011 14:53:05
Ed are we still chasing Mirko Vučinić. Been watching Roma vs Lazio and he looks a very good clever player. Would be a very good buy in my opionion {Ed005's Note - I've heard nothing recent about it. I don't think he's what we need at the moment - and he'd cost too much for it to be worthwhile. He doesn't score many goals and is very inconsistent. I'd be disappointed if we spent £20m on him.}

13 Mar 2011 14:55:31
Ed what sort of transfer bujet do you think kenny will have for the summer {Ed005's Note - I really don't know. If I was to hazard a guess I'd say perhaps £40m-50m plus what we get from player sales?}

Ive heard that liverpool have looked at Hernanes of Lazio who they looked at last season when playing in brazil. Aquilani could be offered!

ED! any thoughts on the player? ?

No way man Aquilani would never go to Lazio, he is a Roma boy and the Roma-Lazio derby is just as heated as Liverpool-Everton

ED, I have heard we have made an enquiry for seville winger diego perotti? Do ou think there is any truth in that? {Ed001's Note - not heard anything, he would be a fairly cheap signing for the wings though.}

Jorge Valdano has said Karim Benzema is at Real Madrid here for the long term and Benzema has thanked Jose Mourinho for his recent goal scoring form.(Looks like hes staying or Valdano is trying to talk his price up more)

Charlie Adam was on Sky Sports Goals on Sunday. When asked questions about january and summer transfer he always mentioned Liverpool first. When asked what colour shirt he will be wearing he said tangerine for nine cup finals. When asked by Ben Shephard what preference did he have he never answered and Ben Shephard said Liverpool and he couldnt hide his delight away. He also admitted that Tottenham come in for him at 22.20 at on transfer window day and he said he was flattered and it would be a great chance to play in the champions league and play with Van Der Vaart but said he had to make it for the right choices.( This tells me he is looking at more firt team action where he would be in rotation at Tottenham, looks very promising)

Sylvain Marveaux has also said he is close to signing a deal with Liverpool. (No surprise here)

any thoughts ed? ?

MarkoLFC {Ed001's Note - nothing to add it is nothing I haven't already said, the one fly in the ointment would be if United came in for him. His English team is United.}

Dont know what you mean Ed?? Is Charlie Adam a Manchester United fan?? ? Is there any other rumours and i mean more realistic i know what Macca has said but is there any you know of?? ?

markoLFC

Youth Team game boiling over and the jammy b""""rds are winning 3-2 with both down to 9 men {Ed001's Note - yes, apparently Adam is a United fan. I don't have anything new at the moment, Marveaux, Adam, Young are still close right now. Benzema, Hoarau, Payet and M'vila, amongst others, we are watching closely.}

Benzema starting to show the quality he has and is banging em in for fun at the moment, would be a great addition in the summer. we need someone to replace torres in terms of goals, suarez has shown he is much more of an overall team player, he likes to come deep, go wide etc and make things happen, gona be a great player for us over the coming years, but not someone who will get 20 goals a season. carroll is a completley different type of player, he is not the sort to create his own chances and will look to get good service from wide areas and from midfield. he will be a great signing for us but much of his success will be dependant on future players signed. benzema could fill that void left when el nino jumped ship, a player who can sit on the shoulder of the last man. hes quick and a good finisher.
he will be the first to be benched at madrid when higuain is fit and an inform benzema brought in the summer could be just what we need to hit the ground running next season. with the big 4 a distant memory it will come down to how well you start, and how you do against the other top 6 teams. playing catch up after a slow start could prove fatal.
ed your thoughts on my analogy would be great?

matt 27

{Ed002's Note - I agree that Benzema is finally looking the part at Madrid and it will be perhaps a little more difficult to get first team starts when Higuain is fit - although it may be up to Higuain to oust him from the team. I also agree that he would be a great buy for Liverpool and one correspondent is of the opinion that a deal is all but done. For me I am not so sure that the deal is done, but a deal could be done and with the managerial situation at Madrid now in flux, it is not out of the question. Certainly Liverpool have shown an interest in the player already, so just maybe . .}

I also hear Real are interested in Aguero and if he joins that further spells trouble for Benzema.

13 Mar 2011 10:53:43
I've heard Scott Parker is on Liverpool's radar.Ed have you heard anything?

{Ed002's Note - A good player, but he is 30 now and I think it is unlikely.}

13 Mar 2011 09:51:21
Just the ed, do you now how much juve would have to pay for aquilana in the summer? juve are in meltdown at the minute, and maybe a bid of 15 plus aquilana could be enough to tempt them in to letting us take chilelini (spelling) he would be a great cb to partner agger.

matt 27

{Ed002's Note - The fee would be €15M and €5M is owed to Roma plus agent fees. The issue with Juve is that they wish to spend in other areas and they can take Pirlo on a free. They may be interested in a deal along the lines you suggest but I am not so sure Giorgio Chiellini would be interested and I am not so sure that Liverpool would want to invest the equivalent of £25M on a centre back.}

With the acquisitions of Benzema, Adam, Young, Dzsudzsak, M'Vila and a backup LB in the summer our team will look like

Reina
Kelly Skrtel Agger Johnson
Meireles M'Vila Gerrard
Benzema Carroll Suarez

Subs: Gulacsi, Carra, Aurelio/ LB, Lucas/ Kuyt, Adam, Dzsudzsak, Young

Rotation will play a major part in winning the league next year

Was talking to a Manc fan who i have known for nearly 30 years the other day - we were comparing on who we think our respective clubs will sign in the summer! When i mentioned Maveraux' name & saw the smug look on his face it hit me - why the hell are we going down the Voronin / Joe Cole / Jovanovic route yet again?! I'm sorry, i know i'll probably get flak for this but he is another potential waste of time & a signing on fee! Why oh why do we keep doing this to ourselves? There are better options in the Premier League like Kranjcar who will be moving this summer for about £7m. Proven PL player! Excellent passer / final ball too! I really hope i'm wrong but can see another flop in Sylvain! If he was all that good he'd be first choice for France now! If he wasn't "free", would we look to get him? I doubt it!
Cheers,
Irish Kev.
P.S. On the whole - what nationality is Eds002 - I reckon its a previous poster called "Sharkey" from the good old US of A?!
Probably way off but my detective skills are weakening!

Adam and M'Vila or Sissoko will sign to replace Aquilani and Poulsen. Maxi/ Cole and Jova will be sold, and 3 new wingers will be brought in- Marveaux and 2 of Dzsudzsak/ Payet/ Turan/ Elia/ Young as they are all highly rated, so time will tell on that. Kuyt will revert to his natural position as a ST and Benzema/ Hoarau/ Gervinho will be signed. Konchesky will be sold, and Insua will be released so we are after a LB- Baines, Kadlec and Enrique are the top targets.

Thanks for the reply ed5, haven't fallen asleep yet. i love how you lot work around the clock to keep this breathing. Posting from my mobile in bed so you probably won't catch an IP address. Watch the video i was on about when you get time, you'll know what hes all about.
RedSox69 {Ed005's Note - I watched it mate. I tend not to judge players based on Youtube though. You could make Poulsen look like a world-beater on Youtube. But he certainly looks as good as any other wingers we've been linked with ie: Young.}

KENNY DALGLISH has been offered a two-year deal and substantial transfer funds to become Liverpool's permanent manager.

The 60-year-old Kop legend, who has transformed the club's fortunes since replacing the sacked Roy Hodgson in January, had asked American owners John W Henry and Tom Werner for a four-year deal.

Henry and Werner were reluctant to look beyond two years but have promised a review if progress continues to be made under Dalglish.

Sunday Express Sport can reveal that Steve Clarke, who was brought in as a coach to work alongside Dalglish by Damien Comolli, Liverpool's director of football strategy, is on a three-and-a-half-year contract.

It is understood that Dalglish wants a lucrative financial package to compensate for a lack of long-term security. Those negotiations are still going on.

Anfield commercial director Ian Ayre has been the conduit between the owners and Dalglish, travelling to the USA last week.

Dalglish has told the Liverpool board he must have a hefty transfer kitty available this summer to strengthen his inherited squad. Henry and Werner displayed their commitment to the club in the January transfer window, splashing the £50 million they received from Chelsea for Fernando Torres on Ajax's Luis Suarez and Newcastle's Andy Carroll.

They have told Dalglish they will repeat their transfer largesse in the summer - Comolli is already working on a number of big-name targets.

The owners are delighted with the progress under Dalglish, culminating in last Sunday's 3-1 victory over Manchester United.

While Dalglish hoped to be rewarded with a four-year contract, he is ready to say yes to a two-year deal, providing the figures add up - both personally and in the transfer market.

I watched a couple of matches Bal zs Dzsudzs k played in last season which was is his best ever as a player. He is only 24 and has a very sweet left foot. A PSV scout labelled him 'a modern left-winger'.
I watched a game in which he scored one of the best free-kick goals I've seen in my life.
His average goal scoring record for PSV is just a little more than a goal every 3 games and scored a whopping 14 goals last season along with 16 assists.
We are reportedly interested in this talented player and about £14 Million would be enough to prize him away.
I would welcome this move with open arms as I feel we desperately need a player like him on the left wing, he can also play as left forward.
A goal-scorer, frequent goal provider and an excellent free-kick taker.
If people haven't seen him play I suggest you watch a compilation of his 09/ 10 season on youtube. I realise it is not the best place to judge a players performance but trust me, he plays just as consistently as the video would appear to show, atleast in the couple games I watched him play.
What are your opinions on him ed(s), mine is that he is a real class act.
RedSox69
P.s-Good Night LOL. :) {Ed005's Note - I don't know much about the player but we are desperate for width. I've heard some good things about him.}

If Steven Gerrad does leave do u think Nuri Sahin could replace him {Ed005's Note - Sahin is at a Dortmund team who are probably going to win the Bundesliga and play CL football next season. It would be hard to lure him away. Perhaps Javi Martinez, Moussa Sissoko or Ever Banega would be more attainable options.}

Ed are we actually interested in dzsudzsak from psv? what info do you have on him? seems a good player actually , he's got nearly 50 goals for psv already not bad at all for a winger. also like my fellow liverpool fans im worried that we could miss out on benzema hes on world class form at real madrid at the moment , but if we don't get him can't blame macca people cause as the ed says things change , players score goals and then the club wanna keep them , but im still gonna go on maccas word. {Ed001's Note - all I have on him is that we are watching him closely, the kind of close eye that usually precedes a move for the player.}'

Sorry to pry Ed001, when you say 'close eye' are you referring to Dzsudzs k, or Benzema?

Redjinal {Ed001's Note - we tried for Benzema in January, so we wouldn't be keeping a close eye preceding a move on him as a move has already been made.}
