Lacazatte rumors popping up again eds, do you think he would be a realistic option?

Believable1 Unbelievable15

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not shown interest and is overrun with strikers.}

Ed, you keep saying we are overrun but we are also going to lose some strikers in the summer for sure and replace them hopefully

We're not talking about Lacazatte signing this week ready for the next game. The clear out is going to happen isn't it?

Agree0 Disagree6

{Ed002's Note - The forwards I would expect to see leave are two on loan and one at the end of his contract - leaving the club overrun with five still. The club need three or four front line forwards and that is it. I am not aware of any efforts being made to move on Sturridge, Firmino, Benteke, Ings or Origi at this time.}

Nordtfelt has announced he's leaving BMG and moving to England. A month or so back he was spotted at melwood (mentioned on here) can an ed say if it's us or if not who it is please as he clearly has something arranged.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool showed interest in Borussia Monchengladbach’s Nordtveit back in January 2012. It was suggested in Germany in 2012 that Arsenal might look to buy the player back at one time, that the interest of Sunderland would lead to an offer. However, he is out of contract at the end of the season and the only sides who have shown a real interest so far are Leicester, West Ham and Borussia Dortmund - but unlike non Bundesliga sides, Dortmund cannot approach him at this time. Having ended interest in another player, Arsenal has spoken with his agent over a return but have taken it no further just now. West Brom, Spurs, Schalke and Southampton have watched him but my understanding is that none have requested to speak to the player. Monchengladbach were keen on a new deal with him they accept they are likely defeated. Expect him to move to England and I supect West Ham will win out unless Spurs or Arsenal put something attractive on the table. I have explained on many previous occasions that any suggested interest from Liverpool right now seems to me to be wide of the mark - 2012 yes, but not now. He certainly won't have been hanging out at Melwood.}

I've seen a few reports this morning that Lfc will start talks with Udinense about Zielinski next week.

I no you've said of interest eds so I'm guessing this is just people jumping to conclusions?

Believable2 Unbelievable16

{Ed002's Note - What I said was: Manchester City had a sustained interest in taking Piotr Zielinski as padding for their squad but Udinese didn't want to sell him - and over last summer they stepped back from their pursuit of him completely after watching him during his first season on loan at Empoli. Certainly he was not going to be moving in January but a number of clubs have looked at him whilst on loan at Empoli this season including Brighton, Liverpool, Napoli, Roma, Auxerre, Young Boys and Bayer Leverkusen. Udinese still remain unconvinced about the player even though things are going well for him now - and in the summer they may well pass him off to "sister" side Watford for another season.}

From what I've read, he's a work horse, but i'd like to think we are looking for more, is he creative as well?

Time to start pretending that you've been watching Zielinski for the past few years, and that you always sign him on Fifa or whatever you crazy kids play. Looks like it might be on.

I don't know. Zielinski looks like a fine player, but I certainly have not been blown away by what I've seen. Same with Praet.

Firmino/ Texeira were signings that excited me. Grujic, I think, has great upside; looks like a younger but more creative version of Matic (with whom he's often compared) . Gotze, of course, is an exciting potential signing.

But Praet or Zielinski? I'm not sure how they're an improvement over Hendo (when fit), Can, or Lallana, if they're to play in either a central midfield role or as AMs. Maybe on the wing, but that's only because we have zero wingers.

I'm glad the Praet rumours seem to have died down.

I agree although admit I don't know either player, just not sure we need a developing talent in attacking midfield with Coutinho, Firmino, Llalana, Milner, Markovic all looking good and Ibe, Ojo, Brannagan, Kent all coming through. Would rather keep Teixera and spend only if we're certain it would improve the starting lineup (but then I could be wrong and one of these could end up being the next Firmino we knew nothing about before joining) .
