I think if Roy goes Ed then NESV will be thinking bigger than O'Driscoll and Di Matteo mate. I know you like O'Driscoll and i like Di Matteo but if Roy goes then me personally can see one candidate Rijkarrd.

The reasons for me why he's the only candidate are

He's a good manager.
He plays good football.
He's managed big names before.
He's managed at the highest level.
And most important he's available.

Blair Mayne YNWA {ed's note - I think you will find him replacing Mancini mate.}

Great spot again Ed i didn't even think about that. That's probably 2 good managers we've lost out on and the next one i can think of is O'neill who i don't want and i'm with you on the Kenny thing and don't believe he's the answer. I'm bamboozled now Ed who else is out there that is available?

Blair Mayne YNWA {ed's note - there are loads of managers out there, we should be looking for someone up and coming this time. Big names cause big problems and see the club as just another job, it isn't the pinnacle of their career for people like Hitzfeld or Rijkaard.}

Does your trusted NESV source have any info on sacking of Roy?, For me I don't mind the losing but its the manner we are losing for god's sake we are a poor side compared to Stoke! Personally I would go for Andre Villas Boas- Young, Hungry and plays attacking football

Kopsan {ed's note - I don't have any sources at NESV mate, that is the problem, only they know what is happening and why it is taking so long to replace Roy.}

My trusted source tells me NESV are lining up Brian Barwick as Chief Executive of LFC, before Christmas.

Barwick will oversee the day-to-day running of the club, but his main remit will be to negotiate tv deals, as that is where he has expertise.

He won't be dealing with sponsorship and marketing though, as NESV will bring in someone who has a wealth of experience in this area.

I see people are wanting king kenny. I would love him too but how many people would be wanting kenny out if things go badly. Would you risk a legend becoming a villain?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It would not be a risk if he was brought in on a caretaker basis. . . Until the club could find a long term replacement
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

It most be confusing for Kenny though. The Club ended last season in turmoil and he, a legend as a player and a manger, offered to help only to be told no thanks. To me with all the problems the club has faced and continues to face when in the middle of the chaos King Kenny steps forward and says I'll lead us out of this. That's it. Whether you think there are other canditates etc it doesn't matter, Kenny wanted it then it should've been his.

I have seen several other names mentioned and none are better. Can you imagine what Kenny would have said to Fergusion when he went after Torres, or in answer to the stories about Pepe or Torres leaving.

Hi all and ed i want to know if u think r h will be sacked and when and more importantly who do u think will come in ed i know mouriniho has said he can't manage us but why? ed do u know? and would u have him please ed let me know {ed's note - I haven't a clue what Mourinho has said, nor do I care, he is at Real Madrid and there is no way we are going to get him to leave them! I believe Roy will be asked to leave at the end of the season at the latest, but if this form carries on I doubt he will last that long.}

I got a question for the ed. In the summer Torres will have 2 years left so that's the time where he will either sign a new contract or be sold. Which one do you think seems the most likely? {ed's note - without changes being made he will go, no question about it, he won't be here next season if Hodgson is.}

Wasn't Roy's Compensation £3m if sacked prior to 28 days of takeover? Broughton mentioned a few weeks back that there was a clause in his contract?

None of the editors of this site have any inside information they are all full of s* te roy is going then he is not then we have 28 days to get rid of him written into his contract we might have a new manager we might not have a new manager i have spoken to the players he really is going then he might not go make your minds up and i bet you won't post this {ed's note - Purslow was the one who came out and said about the 28 day clause in Roy's contract and how much the pay off was, so get your facts straight. I have stood by what I said, the players have been told he is being replaced and that NESV have been searching for a replacement. If you want to deny it, ask yourself why Pellegrini came out and said he got rejected for the role?}

Roy will be sacked mid week, king Kenny will take over until a replacement can be found. Also a chance (depending on results) of him staying long term.
Kenny will get rid of all the dead wood and bring in the quality we expect and deserve.

Ok let's stop the sh*t. Its time to deal with the FACTS:-

If we have any hope of keeping Torres, Reina Agger etc we need to clinch top 4 spot this year. We owe that to them.

As it stands failure to beat:-

birmingham, sunderland, blackpool, wigan & stoke shows that something is seriously wrong. Add to that rumours of unrest behind the scenes - major action is required NOW.

Hodgson & Lee need to go NOW (I don't care what u sceptics say - Rafa would have done better than this this year).

Unless NESV are going to bankroll us (chelsea or s* tty style) they need to employ a better manager, motivator to get this current bunch of underachieving tripe to mount a top 4 challenge, otherwise a top 4 finish is at least 5 years away. By that time Gerrard, Torres, Carra will be long gone.

Please ed tell me that u have inside info regarding NESV's plans for manager??

A cancer is spreading through our beloved club. We need to act NOW

Robkop {ed's note - I don't mate, nobody is talking right now, the club is watching out for leaks.}

Chris morgan is our first team staff. So its clear tat roy was looking at affelay"

Oh i know who Morgan is and that we were likely looking at Affelay (amongst many others) but my question was where was the original source that the deal was tied up. The only place i know jumping the gun is Sport which is about as unreliable a paper as you can get when it comes to Barca and their clear bias. Fabregas had played his last game for Arsenal and Beckham was on his way to Camp Nou according to them.

He may still go there, but until i hear from a genuine source i'll take it with as much of a pinch of salt as our own newspaper stories. It's not out of the realms of possibility given their financial problems and the fact that they have Thiaggo and Pedro that they may even try him and ship him on for a profit in a short space of time. I don't know whether Liverpool is the right place for him but he'll never be more than a bench warmer at Barca.

This is a spainsh website on suso:
www.diariodecadiz.es/ article/ cadizcf/ 550886/ suso/ aterriza/ forma/ oficial/ liverpool.html

This is it translated i think:
''30/ 10/ 2009
The Cadiz signing his new contract in the presence of Rafa Benitez, his great supporter

Another step towards the Premier League. Suso Fernandez already know what will be his fate in January, Liverpool. Cadiz The youngster just returned from the English city, where she spent four days and has signed its first contract with the English club in the presence of Rafa Benitez, his great supporter in the operation which has taken him from the quarry of Cadiz one of the great teams of the old continent.

Suso came to England with his agent, Daniel Rodriguez and his family, which were exposed to what will be the new home of the Fernandez Saenz de la Torre. The player visited Melwood training center, at Liverpool where he saw first-team work the Reds, and lunched twice with Rafa Benitez and Eduardo Macia, the coach and sporting director respectively. Benitez has been the great protector of the young footballer from Cadiz.

In the presence of Macia and Vicky Conan (executive secretary of Liverpool), Suso affixed his signature on the contract that binds him to the England squad for the next four seasons with two more optional. The agreement includes that the first campaign team will play in the second entity, which currently leads the league known as Reserves.

The FA is waiting to receive the contract signed to cash money Cadiz agreed in principle for the transfer, 64,000 euros, several weeks ago placed Liverpool in the federation. It is recalled that the agreement also contemplates several clauses by which the perceived Cádiz other amounts of money from the time that Suso played a certain number of matches with the first English team (three blocks of 25 games each), which could bring another 750,000 euros to the coffers Cadistas.

It's quite old but came across it a few days ago. I think that's the latest news on him so far. Also Liverpool are now reporting that he's been taken out to the U17-Spain team.''
-
Now can we please end this suso stuff. Who gives a f*** who brought him here we just have to be pleased that he is here. hes a mixture of fabregas, iniesta, pedro.

Anyone know who was responsible for bringing suso to liverpool? i know he was training at liverpool for weeks before he signed a contract but who was instrumental in bringing him to liverpool?

Rafa benitez was the man responsuble for bringing the young suso to LFC.

I don't think rafa was the person who spotted suso I bet it was Borrello and he had a word with rafa who probably gave it the nod I don't see Rafa spending his time looking at the youngsters when he had so much going on.MAYBE THE EDITOR KNOWS

RED WILLY {ed's note - it was one of the youth Academy guys, either Borrello or Segura(sp?), I can't remember which, Rafa just okayed it.}

{ed's note - there is a 28 day clause in his contract, I don't believe it to have been activated though. NESV have been looking for a new manager, they decided Pellegrini wasn't the right man and don't feel there is anyone available to take over. So, unless form becomes really bad (which I am sure we all agree we don't want to happen) Roy will be here until the end of the season or the man they have identified becomes available.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I take it your "sources" informed you that NESV are looking for a new manager?

So if they are and turned down Pellegrini, what are they looking for in a manager or what type are they looking for? {ed's note - I have absolutely no idea, that is something only NESV will know and I would guess that Comolli will have an input into it too. I believe the problem with Pellegrini was his English not being quite good enough, rather than him not being English as was reported widely.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

That is ridiculas if true. Benitez, Mourinho, Acholotti, Mancini, Capello all knew no english at least he has foundations to work from. Shall i metion anymore who can't speak english. but have learned it and manage the best in the world.

Harry5:) {ed's note - Rafa spoke excellent English, he used to translate for his team mates when they were trying to chat up English tourists when he was a player. Mourinho worked as a translator for Bobby Robson and speaks better English than I do. Mancini learnt English while in England playing for Leicester City and also speaks excellent English. I don't know about Ancelotti or Capello but I thought both were able to speak passable English at least.}

Just thought I'd post what I've just heard on radio Cardiff. Liverpool are monitoring Jay Bothroyd and have been for several games. As a fan of Bothroyds he would be a brilliant partner for Torres
- - - - - - - - - - -

Why buy him if Ngog is better and 7 years younger?

Harry5:)

david ngog couldn't lace bothroyds boots!

- - - - -

Ngog has scored 7 in 17 games this season while Bothroyd has scored 10 in 14 in a lower league! Ngog is also better at hold-up play and 7 years younger.

Personally, I'm not a fan of David Ngog, but I've watched enough Cardiff games to see how average Bothroyd is.

Just the one in the premier league though, first touch of a hippo
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Of couse hes gunna have a better touch. Hes had 7 more years to develope for god sake! And hes in a lower league so the quality of defenders are no way near as good
We will not be signing bothroyd.
I can imagine roy telling Henry to buy him, it would go something like this:
Henry: hi roy what do you want.
Roy: ive got a player in mind who i would like.
Henry: who is it
Roy: his name is Bothroyd
Henry: ok. if you could answers a few questons so i can see if he fits in our criterea. Is he a young player? Would he have a sell on value? Would he have a comercial value? Can he improve? How much would he cost?
Roy: well ummm he is 28.
Henry: 28 did you say, (henry coughs and says idiot really quietly) Umm carry on.
Roy: he would cost about 7million, so he wouldn't have a sell on value. He would not give us any comercial value nor will he improve.
Henry: Ohh.
Roy: Also hes scorings a lot of goals this year.
Henry: oh that's good. What league is he in?
Roy: the championship.
Henry: What country is that league from
Roy: oh its here in england.
Henry: do you mean the Pl then?
Roy: no Its the english second division.
Henry: Ohh.
Henry: have you mentioned him to Damien Coloni.
Roy: No i haven't because he would say no.

Or it will go something like this.

Henry: hi roy what do you want.
Roy: ive got a player in mind who i would like.
Henry: Your not in charge of transfers, so go f*** yourself.
Roy: oh yeah sorry, i keep on forgetting things lately.

Lmfao

Harry5:)

Ha ha that is funny - Im just saying what a I heard on the radio and that is that a, bothroyd is being watched and b, I believe hes a better player and ngog will never make it to a standard he has (apart from a few games for liverpool) I think it would be backwards for liverpool to sign him they'd be much better playing pacheco. My opinion is mine and yours is yours, i respect what you say and love the conversation that was good.

Ed, , what us the real situation with Roy, is he going , is he staying? one ed keeps telling us its only a matter of time, one says there is a 30 day clause, one claims the players are unhappy, whats the truth is Roy going? please! {ed's note - there is a 28 day clause in his contract, I don't believe it to have been activated though. NESV have been looking for a new manager, they decided Pellegrini wasn't the right man and don't feel there is anyone available to take over. So, unless form becomes really bad (which I am sure we all agree we don't want to happen) Roy will be here until the end of the season or the man they have identified becomes available.}

Seen a rumour that Barcelona have opened talks with PSV over Afellay and the fee is said to be as little as £2.5m! !

Afellay openly said that it would be a dream to play for Liverpool or Man Utd so why are we not making a move for him? Suppose Hodgson would prefer to splash out £7m on Wright-Phillips and pay him (at 29) massive wages! !

barcelona do alot of talking it wouldn't surprise me if we have opened talks i don't know you don't know we wouldn't know until he signs

Liverpool website states we are lukin at sum 19 year, barton. apparently one of the best PROSPECTS outside the EPL. all sounds gud till yu hear the price, 6m! for me paying 6m of our limited transfer budget for a PROSPECT unproven at liverpool level, who is only gona rot in the reserves (because of hodgson) is ridiculous. we should be spend that money on a player who is cable of making a first team impact. for young prospects i would be looking at around 2m max. we simply don't have the money to make risky buys like this.

anyone else agree

bel - we sud spend our budget on first team quality who will help us push for 4th place NOW and one or two cheap youngsters

unbel - spend loads on youth players who will help us win things in a few years

Seen us linked with Andy Carroll today. I think Carroll is a good player. He's big and strong and we've seen his form for Newcastle this season, plus he's young and English. However, for a start the off-field problems would be an issue for me personally.

Another thing is, I don't think he's the type of striker we need. Yes, he's a big strong lad and would torture defenders. But in terms of scoring goals, he doesn't appear to be a 25 goals a season man. Everyone talks about "lifting the burden off Torres". It would certainly help Torres, but it wouldn't lift the goalscoring burden off him becase people would expect most of the goals to come from Torres, and it would really be the same old story. Plus, Carroll isn't proven for a top club yet.

What we need is a goalscoring striker. Someone who could score 25 goals a season. Maybe even someome who can drop slightly deeper and turn provider but put them away when required.

Hit believe if you agree, disbelieve if you disagree.

Andy caroll is toon through and through he bleeds black and white he's like our gerrard if newcastle got relegated caroll would still be there he was so eager to sign a 5 year contract so don't mention his name. he isn't going to move anywhere the lad is what 19? or 20? why would he leave at such a young age all he wants to do is play football for newcastle week in week out. Would love him as a signing but that is NOT happening unless we offer newcastle a stupid amount.

Reina did state he has a long contract, but he did not give a guarantee to see it all out, if you read his words rubbish this is what he said person quote
The Spain international exclusively told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I have seen a newspaper has made this suggestion. It is completely untrue.

"I have not told the manager that I wish to leave in January, or at any other time. It is important our fans know this.

"I have a long-term contract at Liverpool and I am fully committed to the club.

I reckon Hodgson has fallen out with Glen J. He has publicly criticised Johnson, saying his performances are not up to what he expects, and saying 'you should ask him why'.
His tone is harsher than I remember him using about any player, and it sounds like a major falling-out. It maybe linked to this super-injunction that no-one is allowed to talk about.
Either way this is the sort of harsh tone a manager would normally use in private, not to the press.
Also, Roy being so defensively minded and disciplined probably hates the very idea of Johnson's raiding down the flanks and leaving gaps, and its in Johnson's blood to play that way.
Also, Johnson knows he has to be a regular starter at RB to guarantee his England place, and if Roy can't give him that, he will want a move.
Expect to see Johnson for sale as early as January, but deffo in the summer.
Great shame though- how many times has he been the catalyst to unlock a tight defence, and create opportunities from the right? Do we really want to lose a home-grown player of his quality?
I'd much rather lose Roy to be honest, but this will only be the start of the player exodus.
Expect to see Agger and Pacheco out soon too if the rumours are true (Pacheco still can't get a game, despite being twice the player Ngog is), and Reina in the summer (Reina did state he has a long contract, but he did not give a guarantee to see it all out, if you read his words).
And if we don't get a top 4 finish or very close, Torres and SG will be gone for sure, along with Joe Cole, Jovanovic and possibly Meireles- all of whom expected to be in a side competing for CL football.
Given that Babel is all but gone anyway, as will be Maxi (and I think Spearing might be moved on in the summer too), you can see that next season's squad could end up looking very different to this one, and we'll have a bigger problem than City- trying to find 8 or 9 new quality players in a single transfer window, and settle them in all at once. So there's a CL spot next season out of the window too.
Sorry to be so negative, but if we do lose too many players by July, it will set us back a whole season at least.

"He plays wide for Spain anyway. Thats the position where he got player of the tounament and top gosl scorer in the U19's. He played wide left in a 442 formation?"

Well that's a point of argument actually. They didn't play an orthodox 4-4-2. It was more a fluid 4-3-3 with Pacheco playing the left forward position but slightly dropped back so he could start his runs. He wasn't exactly midfield nor was he exactly up front. Sort of in the hole but out wide at the same time. You see similar with David Villa a lot.

Podolski is a v gd player, strong quik n cn play on the wing or up front n will score 2

i mentioned podolski a while back, he is a top player, the sort of player we need, as he is a cracking front man but also creates width. stephen Ireland i'd be interested in, selling off the crap we have in the midfield, although i was pleased about joe coles arrival, i'd think that should he not make an impact before the summer, cash in on him.
We need a strong left back and then i think we would be sound. Banega would also be a good signing but no more than 10m. We need realistic players at realistic prices. So forget mentioning 30m players please

I know liverpool fans are split on this player but i truly believe we should sign andy carroll, yes i no he's got history and some people think he's a thug but look at the positives imagine carroll and torres together they'd scare the s* t out of any defence and them two alone would occupy all of the back four between them with torres pace and movement and carroll's power not only in the air but he can actually play a bit on the deck aswell because if we don't snap him up then i'm pretty sure one of the other big clubs will.

Hi Ed, Do you Danny Pacheco would benefit from 6 months in the championship. He's talented but very lightweight, needs to 'toughen up' and put a few pounds of muscle on. Thoughts? {ed's note - I think he needs first team football, yes, but he is good enough to walk into our first team, he should be playing.}

He is 20 and is said to be one of the great ones for future. . Ed, have you seen him play? {ed's note - I haven't mate sorry.}

For the wishlist:

I wish rafa never left
I wish roy was never appointed
I wish we would get Guus Hiddink
I wish nani would stop behaving like a little girl like ronaldo used to as it is a disgrace to football
I wish we had the following team:

Torres Torres

Gerrard Masch Gerrard Gerrard

Aurelio Young Carra Young Hyppia Dani Alves

Pepe
(Guus as Coach)

more realistic:

Torres

Honda Affelay

Gerrard

Lucas Meireles

Aurelio Skrtel Agger Johnson

Pepe

With Unai Emery as coach

Podolski is a v gd player, strong quik n cn play on the wing or up front n will score 2.plays 4 a s* t team , surely he wnts mre 4 him himself!

there is a reason he still plays for a sh*t team is cos his goal scoring is crap, , his best season was 2004-2005 season, he scored 29 goals, , , every other season he scores only 10-12 goals at most but last season he scored 3 goals all season, , season b4 he scored 9 season b4 10 season b4 that 7 season b4 that 12. . so for attacking midfielder/ striker hes not exactly great only time other than 2004-2005 season ive seen him good is in world cup

When are we going to ban the likes of Chris Bascombe and Dave Maddocks from Anfield. These pair of dicks have done nothing but stir the s* t in the press for the last 2 years. Labelled as two reporters "in the know" at Anfield! Even this week Maddocks put a piece out that Pepe told the club he wanted to leave. Which Pepe and Roy came out and denied. If he'd of tried that s* t with the scum, Fergie would have had him thrown out of gates.
Believe to agree to keep them out of our club. YNWA.

But Tisdale does have a proven record. May I remind you that we got Shanks from Huddersfield Town. Great managers do not just magically appear. All I want is the best manager for our club mate, not the most famous.
