Hi Ed, any chance to see us moving for both Kagawa and Lewandowski from Dortmund? Knowing that their side is struggling to pass champions league group stage ..
They would be excellent additions ! {Ed001's Note - I wouldn't expect both, no, right now there does seem to be a decent chance of one of them, still early doors though.}

Ed which one is more likely? I'd much prefer kagawa {Ed001's Note - the interest does appear to be in him, though it is difficult to tell, there are a few good young players on that team, but I am told he is the one that we have actually had a quick enquiry about. Nothing definite yet, just a 'is he going to be available' question.}

Do you think he will be? {Ed001's Note - probably not in Jan but in the summer it is very possible.}

13 Nov 2011 22:20:21
According to reports in the British press, Reds' boss Kenny Dalglish is closing in Swiss striker Nicholas Hunziker (15 years old).

13 Nov 2011 22:14:55
hi ed, do u think we will look at any more uraguayan or south american players? {Ed001's Note - yes.}

Like who? {Ed002's Note - Possibly Ramirez.}

Any chance of Cavanni ed? What sort of price would he be? {Ed001's Note - I can't see him being available and I have no idea how much he would cost.}

I would estimate from 30 to 40 million

13 Nov 2011 22:03:53
i know it sounds ridiculous but heard dat david villa cud be an option for us, cud this deal come to fruition?? {Ed009's Note - You ought to read the archives. If we get top 4 - a possibility. His age is still a negative factor though.}

Is it really that much harder to type dis instead of dat?

Hi there Ed hope your well... We really need a right winger and Turan is a winger who plays on either wing and KK wanted him not too long ago so why have we not gone for him? I am not just pulling name out of nowhere its just KK was interested in him. Banter Please Ed

Cape Town Red {Ed009's Note - He moved to Atletico Madrid in the summer, so will not be available. It is a real shame we did not move for him.}

Thank you Ed for the reply. Is Turan doing well at Atletico? If you know... {Ed001's Note - I don't sorry, I haven't been keeping a close eye on Spanish football this season.}

Is that the player who played with galatasary if it is i have known him to be a very good player

There must be a reason we didnt go for him. He was a Liverpool fan, stated he wanted to sign for us, impressed during a game against galatasary, but we still didnt go for him. Makes you wonder whether we have somebody else lined up for that position {Ed001's Note - his problem was his injury history, I am told that our interest waned after looking at that. He picked up a lot of niggles etc during his time at Gala (according to what I have been told, difficult to know how true it is without being able to follow Turkish football closely) which put us off. Not sure what kind of niggles, but I would guess they must have been seen as serious enough to probably shorten his career. Though it could just be that he misses too many games, I am not sure, just speculating really.}

Average player to be fair

From a mate who is usually spot on: We are definitely looking at; Welliton, Luuk de Jong & Kagawa. We may look at Villa and Eriksen.

Warrington Red

Absolute rubbish

Is your mate an ED, who has been telling this for ages now?

MansfieldRED

I have heard the same thing aswell. Except for we will go for Eriksen in January. Kagawa and De jong are our main January targets.

Is Villa the new Aguero?

Erikson will not be joining!! A host of clubs are eyeing his signature including tottenham ...who erikson supports, regardless of international team mates and ex club mates if spurs match liverpool he would choose them

Hi eds, is a transfer of coutinho something series or just in the level of interest? {Ed002's Note - I don't see a move to Liverpool as too likely, and I think he would struggle to get in the team.}

13 Nov 2011 19:17:34
eds, what do you think Cardozo of Benfica? would he be able to hack the premier league? do you think he could be a viable option for the reds? {Ed009's Note - Cardozo is a great player, but his age is a factor which perhaps rules him out of a transfer. On the plus side though he would be very affordable. I can't see a striker of note being brought in this January personally and it is too early frankly to say he is odds on for next summer.}

Great shout! Fantastic player i've always wondered why he was never signed by anyone in Spain or England.All the best

What sort of money would we be paying for Poldolski if we tried to sign him. (Hope we do, gem of a player, one of the most underrated players in recent years). YNWA
Cheers {Ed009's Note - Perhaps 15 million, pushing even 20.}

Need to sign him, still pretty young and far better than Carroll.

Get Podolski and welliton/doumbia
Then we have 4 attackers all quality as we will be able to play 3 upfront and have 1 on the bench!

Manno

Is Podolski not pretty poor for his club teams throughout his career but class for Germany?

Ska-oop

13 Nov 2011 18:40:54
Ed i saw ed001 said we were watching the russian league, do you think we may look at welliton from spartak moscow as he is a quality striker? {Ed009's Note - I have said for a few years now he would be the ideal player for us to sign. Fast - something we are lacking, and a poacher - something we are also lacking. Coming from that league he could be a relatively affordable option too, and I believe there is every chance we could be taking a look at him.}

Yeah he would do well for The Reds....deffo think we should get him! Fast, great finisher & he's a real poacher too!

Eds, why was a similiar question regarding Welliton specifically from me did not appear on here? Just wondering, cheers. {Ed001's Note - no idea sorry, you don't sign a name how are we meant to know who you are?}

Lacking a poacher? Did u not see Dirk's hatrick against United?

13 Nov 2011 18:30:28
Ed i saw that suarez posted a picture of him with his friend gaston ramirez. How likely is it that we go for him in jan? I have heard some reliable people saw that the new contract he signed with the 15m euro buy out clause was just so bologne could get more money for him in jan {Ed002's Note - As for Gaston Ramirez, I am not as convinced as everyone else that there is real interest from Liverpool but I am sure he has been watched by the club. I suspect he will not be available until the summer and a move to Palermo or Juventus is perhaps more likely - although unsubstantiated rumours suggest Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested.}

13 Nov 2011 17:29:45
Eds - There have been a couple of posts about G. Johnson leaving - I personally can't see it happening just because I don't know of a team that would want him badly enough to pay us a decent amount for him. What are your thoughts? {Ed002's Note - I don't expect him to leave in January.}

Davey Filler is coming to partner Ken Aguero

If this happens i would love to see kyel walker come in

13 Nov 2011 16:32:00
Ed is villa coming cause there are a lot of reports saying he is most likely to come. {Ed002's Note - I think it doubtful.}

13 Nov 2011 16:29:23
Hi ed there r so many reports linking us 2 Lucas moura he fits are transfer criteria perfectly and looks 1 gd player have u heard n e more than me and who do you think wld solve finishing problem {Ed002's Note - Try using the search facility.}

This one should also look in a dictionary.

13 Nov 2011 15:48:01
I think come Jan FSG will give KK atleast 20mil to spend.
I don't think we have a choice on spending , because if we don't were likely to miss out in CL football again.
The longer were out of that the harder it is found to be to get back in.
If Johnson wants out fair play , we've Kelly there who is more than capable of replacing him.
With flanagan as backup.
I just hope in Jan we a proper rw with speed and some flair , a natural finisher to partner saurez.
If we need to start paying more on wages then unfortunately that's what we need to do to get the better players.

LAVERS

We would weaken the squad if we sold Glen Johnson. He is the balance to the younger players, he has experience that is essential in tough games. The kids are not the answer to everything. aklfc

I saw Kelly and flanagan both play against all the top sides City, arenal, Utd, Chelsea, Spurs, etc and they were always good. What more you think should they do to answer our concerns. Kelly is better defensively than Johnson. Flanagan is in somehow a learning phase. Johnson, wouldn't be missed, if sold. But better is to keep him, atleast till the season's end.

Now johnson is fit i dont see why we dont try him on the right wing

13 Nov 2011 15:10:56
Kenny to go double dutch and sign both the de jong brothers this jan.SIEM is seen as the FUTURE replacement for GERRARD.

Does this mean we're looking at THREE De Jongs in total? because as far as i'm aware, the one we've been linked with already is swedish and no relation to Nigel, currently of ManCity or Siem... {Ed002's Note - Just one - Luuk.}

LUUK & SIEM born in Switzerland and moved to Holland aged 4 & 6 both have dutch nationality know.

Both are dutch anyway de jong is a dutch name

Hi Ed's do you know in any intrest in Philippe Coutinho? {Ed001's Note - yes but it is not as easy as that to get a player like him!}

Any idea of the amount of money which will he will likely cost?

Apparently Claudio Ranieri is not interested in keeping him at Inter if he keeps up his string of poor performances up til January.

How much would he cost ed? And would we be able to get him?

maka
YNWA JFt96 {Ed001's Note - I have no idea how much he would cost. Impossible to say with a player like that whether we could get him or not, a lot will come down to who is advising him on his future.}

13 Nov 2011 15:01:11
Hi Eds,

any chance we will be following up on the deadline day offer for Rangers' striker Nikica Jelavic? i believe it was confirmed that a bid was rejected on the day, or do you think there are better striking prospects out there?

i think we need to do something - we cant rely on Suarez to score everything, and with Gerrard out, we certainly cant rely on anyone else at the moment! {Ed001's Note - no bid was confirmed to have come from Liverpool, I don't believe it was from us, or that we have any interest in him.}

13 Nov 2011 14:01:51
Ed i have seen you mention de jong and podolski as striking options but do you know any of the proper right wingers we are currently looking at? Rather than strikers who can cover the wing {Ed002's Note - I am not aware that the club are looking at any with any great interest at the moment.}

13 Nov 2011 14:00:46
Ed do you think that we could buy honda in jan even though he has been injured recently? I wonder if maybe we got distracted last jan and then clubs in russia don't won't to sell in the summer so maybe now is the time to buy him. How much do you reckon he would cost? {Ed002's Note - He would have cost about 8M pounds last January - they wanted more than 20M in the summer. He does not seem to be of interest to Liverpool any more.}

Whats 20 million, when Liverpool spent he likes of that on and ageing Downing who doesn't provide many assists or goals and 16 million on Henderson who doesn't know how to win a tackle. 35 Million on Carroll, do I need to go on

13 Nov 2011 10:37:56
Ed what chance is their of marin coming in jan? People say he would want champions league football but he is only playing for werder bremen at the moment. Plus he needs to move to a bigger club to get in the german team. Also would love us to sign honda/kagawa {Ed001's Note - hard to say unless you know the lad himself, mostly it will come down to his personal choice of teams. In my opinion it is unlikely, he will be more likely to go to Italy in my opinion.}

Hi ed, hi poster, round the houses with this one, spurs will let a clause in lennon's contract open with malaga being the club to trigger this clause, speaking to stefan freund, he has indicated that marin its their preference, a deal was nearly completed last term, and IF here harry has targeted his man, stefan suggested marko was extremely interested in the move, he loved the ground and atmosphere when he visited last season.

13 Nov 2011 10:17:23
I told you all about G Johnson. He will be off in January as his head has been turned. Please refer to earlier comments posted two weeks ago.

DaveyBootle

Johnson is an over rated player who spends too much time in the treatment room. Overall, he has only done ok when on the field and I think we have good cover in the RB position so it wouldn't be a huge loss if he left particulary if we can get good price for him.

I agree. He's also picking up alot of injuries.

DaveyBootle

I thought he had been"off" ever since he came.

Well if your right then lets swap him for a center forward we need one of them more than a right back who is a sick note

Good cover?! Flanno? Not ready yet (as per KK) and Kelly is a centre back who is injury prone when played in EPL at right back. Johnson is a quality player who is under the spotlight more than any other right back i the country. He makes mistakes but they all do, his attacking ability and play on the ball is far better than any other right back in the EPL in IMO. His defending may be average but his attacking ability and build up play make him an asset that would not be easily replaced. We shouldn't have to weaken the squad to buy a striker! Its not 2009/2010!

He's a so-so defender, good going forward. Won't lose any sleep should he leave.

Head turned by who? my initial thought was 'fine' given the other players we have in that position and if we were going to get good money....but the above poster makes a great point. while kelly is fantastic, he is injured quite a bit, and flanno showed against sunderland that he isn't ready to be our regular first choice.

13 Nov 2011 10:04:50
DC also looking at Podolski... We are definitely in the market for a striker with Doumbia and Villa also on the radar...

RM

Probably more bs. But Podolski + Villa in January would renew my faith in Comolli and Dalglish. that plus an attacking midfielder and we would surely finish top four. Goetze and Hazard are not going to come, forget about them. Kagawa, Honda, Reus, these are all possibilites. and they would fit if we played 433. imagine:

Reina
Kelly Skrtel Agger Enrique

Gerrard Lucas Honda/Kagawa

Suarez Villa Podolski

Villa's name has been regurgitated out of interest of the england spain game? the press have a canny way of recycling old rubbish when need be?

Wake up why would kenny do that when he jus bort henderson,downing and adam in the summer hes not goin 2 change the midfield maybe 1 attack midefielder if the most

Heard this from a reliable source in Spain, who has links with Barca (used to work for the finance team at Barca, and still has regular contact with ex-colleagues) - Anyway, the rumour about Villa are not so far fetched ! Apparantly, the fall out with Messi is not just a little disagreement, but a full on hatred ! Messi has got to the point where he has issues a 'him or me' ultermatum to the club and, naturally, it will be Villa leaving!

He is fully aware if this, and only wants to go to either Chelsea or Liverpool (so the story goes) and, apparantly, Barca see Chelsea as a bigger threat at this time, and therefore are pushing him towards Liverpool.

The concerns about his wages are unfounded, as, although he is on a very good wage, he is not a mega earner (by the standards these days) and the fee will be a modest £20m, due to his age and Barca's 'need' to offload.

So hope its true !

If Villa comes to EPL it will be to a top 4 side i.e. not liverpool.

Liverpool will finish in the top 4 have faith

^ ive tried to persuade myself to have belief in us geting in the top 4 but u have to look at it realisticaly u have got to win your home games, norwich, swansea, sunderland and man utd(they were there for the taking) is 8 points we have lost also we should have beat stoke wich is another 3 points gone. Also we should have got at least a draw against spurs as they r challenging us 4th so theres about 12 points weve lost this season already. We have spent about 56 million this summer and spent about 60 million in jan and have only really lost torres and mierles so never mind 4th we should be challenging for the title but it looks like we will struggle for europa league footy

^Get a grip, its not as black and white as that. We have had a full change in our club from top to bottom, though top 4 is not a for gone conclusion i agree. The club is being rebuilt, we are creating chances on the pitch if we was'nt then i would be worried about the long term. We are at times playing some really nice football, which we was not under Roy, we have some future stars in our first team, Suarez is already a star. But the likes of Hendo, Carrol,Kelly, Flanno, Johnson, Coates and Coady not far off. And the acdamey brimming with tallent, look at the bigger picture.All the best.

KNEE JERK

Wow look how everything is falling into path for liverpool. Just when they realise they need a striker, one of the best strikers in the world has a bust up and wants to come to liverpool

As much as I would love this to be true, I just can't see it happening. Due to his age, and the fact we already have a £35 million striker to play with Suarez, whatever anyones opinion of him is.

Ash

We are at the tipping point now. If we fall any farther behind the fourth spot points-wise we probably will not make it. That will have repercussions for the coaching and playing staff, make no mistake.

As much as i would want villa at liverpool it aint gna happen they may hav bin a argument bt it happens at every team n the price being told is 2 much kenny would rather buy sum1 young with alot ov potential

Buying younger with potential is all well and good but we need soneone with villa quality regardless the age, cause its about the present atm until we get back in the top4 then work on the long term just my view on the matter

13 Nov 2011 06:51:17
Liverpool on the way to sign lennon from spurs.liverpool are looking to spend over 21 million pounds. {Ed009's Note - Are they really?}

You must be joking me - 21m!

No, malaga have shown interest of £20 mill, which was turned down, a further bid of £25 mill will be made which will trigger a negotiation clause in his contract!

This looks pretty comical. Rafa was attacked for buying foreigners. Hmm like reina, arbeloa, masch, torres, alonso etc.

Then we get a load British players under NESV, that are overpriced and underperforming. So who are we linked with now? 21m Lennon.. Hmmm..

13 Nov 2011 02:01:05
Ed I have a feeling that Torres is going to come back what do you think {Ed009's Note - I think it is hugely unlikely.}

...and so is Karl Heinze Riedle. Are you serious?

DaveyBootle

Thought this site is meant to be about rumours not what somebody would like or dreamt about last nite

I'd take him bak anyday of the week, esp. over the farmer

I remember posting on here that NESV did the dirty on Nando.( Seeing dollar or pound signs in their eyes) Ofcourse some of u wouldn't accept the truth.

And what happens? Red Legend John Aldo admits it to the press!
Dont u feel silly now? {Ed001's Note - I don't care what Aldo said, Torres made his bed and he has to lie in it. I don't feel slightly silly because what he said was not quite true, just a rumour he was told.}

The only place Torres is going is back home to Spain.

13 Nov 2011 00:36:51
Hi eds i was just wondering who do you think will be leaving the club in january?

I personally think all the new signings except for suarez and enrique arn't good enough for the club. But i cant see them being moved on just yet.

Thanks Jay {Ed009's Note - I suppose Aurelio could go if anyone makes an offer - though with his injury record I imagine he will simply remain a rotation player for us. Other than that I am unsure as to whether any players will be transfer listed, but it is impossible to predict whether another club will come in with an offer.}

The poster of this is a fool, our signings arent good enough but I dont think we will move them on in January. That sounds like your saying we will sell the players at some point, which is rediculous. Downing has been strong down the left. Henderson has got better every week, Coates hasnt really had much first team action, Bellamy is played out of position, but does well and changes things when he comes on.
Besides, Suarez should not be counted in that list, as he was signed in Jan, not the summer with Enrique, he has therefore had longer to gel with his team mates.

Downing looks strong for about 10 mins! which is good considering we payed 20m for him.. JOKE!! do you evan go the match henderson looks awful thats why he was sub'd at half time. Fair enough about coates and bellemy but what about adam hes rubbish!

You talk about gelling with team mates. We are in mid november stop making excuses
