There is a slight possibility that we put in a bid for Chris Samba who lets face it would be a steal at £7 or £8M. Another player who could move to the club would be Samba's team mate Junior Hoilett who would be a great buy. All this talk of Carroll leaving is false (UNFORTUNATELY) and lastly there is some interest in Kuyt from Serie A and all out of favour players and deadwood will try to be shifted within the next few weeks if not then Summer is our best bet.

Sparks

If as you say we are going for samba then why didn't we try and sign Cahill, oh that's right it's cos we aren't after a defender

Samba is cr*p plus we have got one one of the best defences in the prem if not the best

It is deffinatly time for Kuyt to leave. He's been a good servant, and worked hard for the cause, but he is slowing down. And without his work rate he is lacking. Remember Owen? Once he had lost his pace he was finished (as his touch was shocking, as is Kuyts)
But it wouldn't make any sense to lose him now. In the summer yes. Plus, the guy deserves a medal. And there's a chance he could win one. I'm sure he doesn't wish to leave with the title of 'longest serving LFC player never to win anything'

what are the chances of kuyt leaving , he has been awful this year and was absoloutley dreadful against stoke

-- and yet that was one of his better games.

Did you even go to the game? kuyt has never set the world alight but its completely unfair to suggest he was dreadful, he was one of the busiest players on the pitch feeding off scraps from forward long balls and no support. The only dreadful thing I saw, was the formation Dalglish picked, his decision and tactical ineptitude cost us the game not Kuyts missed header, Dalglish watched us as did 40,000 fans (for over an hour) get in to advanced positions and have no one in the box, and then when he did finally make substitution he decided to substitute downing for Carroll?? who did we have to cross the ball to Carroll once that happened and it left a gaping hole in front of Enrique making it easier for stoke to defend up the middle. What is the man thinking? we effectively played with 10 men against stoke because either Carragher or Coates where not needed against Crouch. the decision to not start Carroll was equally as baffling as we all now what to expect from stoke and it was clear after 5 mins a draw was on the cards. I don't profess to be a tactical genius but if I and 40,000 fans can see this why can't Dalglish, I can accept we can try and do something different in terms of formation but if its not working change it to get the result and revert back later, but to be honest the team looked like 11 blokes been put together and asked to get on with it, instead of being organised and deliberate. We,ve scored 24 goals this season and played some good stuff and that, was the worst I've seen this season (at home). its easy to point the finger at players and quite rightly so on some occasions but i don't think this is one of them, my fingers pointed at Dalglish and not for the first this season, had he made substitutions earlier we may have a lot more points than we do now. the annoying thing for me is Dalglish always talks about the strength and depth of the squad but never uses it - madness complete madness - rant over
Alanlfc

I totally agree I wasn't at the match but watched it. Kuyt had no service. Much like alot of times for any forward this season. It is the formation you would play if you where two nil up from the first leg playing away from home in the champions league. Stoke played one man up front really Crouch. Why have three central defenders to mark one player? Tactics Cost us.

Kuyt is muck, no pace shocking touch and couldnt kick snow off a rope.I'm sick of people saying ah but he works hard and never stops running, either does forest gump but ye wouldn't have him on a football pitch Kenny might doe with some of the shocking signings he's made. Any other manager would have been gone. We need to get rid of the likes of Kuyt Carroll and the rest of the crap if we want to be a top 4 team again.

I was just wondering about the truth behind the shaqiri to galastaray? I thought hed be wonderful for liverpool but LFCtransferSpec apperantly have a inside source saying hes going there because I cant find anything on the web either Thanks for your time I love this site! {Ed002's Note - If Shaqiri were to be available now then there would be plenty of interest including at least Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Hamburg, Leverkusen, both Manchester clubs and Liverpool. I am also sure if he were to become available then Arsenal would also be interested, but it is tough to see him leaving a team he has been with since he was a young child during their Champions League run. Perhaps the summer is a better option. A recent low bid from Galatasary was not accepted.}

Just read the story after i posted crap lol but still what do you think are the chances of him leaving basel for galastaray! that surprises me i really want him at LFC

Eds is there any interest in fletcher from wolves he's a good player and scores goals, could be a viable option what you think? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know that there is.}

We need a 20 goal a season striker. That isnt fletcher

At this point, I'd settle for anyone who can score any goals...

Fletcher is a life-long liverpool fan would be a good buy

Although he isnt world class, he is proven as a scorer in the prem, he is instrumental for wolves. would be a great buy imo

He could well be a 20goal a season striker, given his current shots-in-box to goal ratio (2.6) and chance conversion percentage of 79%. Both stats are higher than Demba Ba and RVP have managed in the same time frame.

Perhaps Fletcher's problem has not so much been he hasn't been able to score so much as Wolves aren't setting him up properly?

James McLean anyone? Decent looking winger

I prefer women ;)

RedBalls

Match of the Day fever strikes again. The kid has only ever played half a dozen games of Premier League footy and you want us to sign him? Behave!

About 12st.

His agent has said Liverpool have made contact

Soldado not playing for valencia tonight, not even on the bench..as far as I know he isn't injured..could he be on his way somewhere, perhaps Anfield? What do you think ed?
Ballina Red {Ed019's Note - I don't know, sorry.}

Nah they just said he suspendid

Not a bad shout this one. why would they not put there best player on the pitch or even the bench iv checked an hes right strange seem like the actions of a team not relying on a player thats on his was out or hes injured which i ent heard anything about it oww not saying liverpool but hes looking like an outbound player to me
adam t lcf

In the stands at the mestalla

He's suspended. Given the way Valencia is playing without, I doubt very much that he's moving this transfer window !

Defo suspended!

Valencia coach rotates soldado an adruiz quite often as he likes to play with only one up top so it said in the match vs r.sociadad.

PLEASE BRING TORRES BACK, King Kenny will get the best out of him he is a wasted talent at Chelsea, I would love to see him alongside Suarez and Gerrard

What do you think Eds?
{Ed002's Note - I don't see it happening.}

Get over it, Torres is not coming back, nor is he welcome, he burnt his bridges when he left

Will happen, welcome back

Hmmmmmm....this is a tough one. A Torres in top form is just what we need. A Torres at the top of his game would be the answer to all our problems. A Torres like the one that joined us would be worth £50m and probably get us the title.
The Torres we would buy would have us cursing the screen for the rest of the season!
Lets face it guys, if the Fernando of old was to return we would all be brought to tears like dribbling babies. The reality would almost certainly be far less emotional. Move on chaps.....

Dry your eyes mate, i know its hard to take but her mind has been made up, there's plenty more fish in the sea.

Oh my word, this guy left a year ago. Get over it !!

I probably would guess that chelsea fans spend far less time talking about liverpool players !

Concentrate on what we have got and get real !

Please bring him bk

Guys i think its a bit harsh tellin people get over it...like i mean most liverpool fans forgot about him 6 months or a year before he left, but IF torres EVER returned to liverpool then i can guarentee he'd be welcomed with open arms...or what would you guys still prefer dirk and carroll...really would you?

Why would he possibly return , what an odd statement to make! He was partly sold as he has not performed for 2 seasons! £50m could be the deal of the decade ! .

Open arms really after him talking rubbish in the press don't think so

Rush came back
Bellamy
Fowler

We need a striker. He know how Gerrard plays and would link with Suarez.

Bring him back. {Ed001's Note - all of those players loved the club and wanted to come back desperately, none wanted to leave in the first place. Torres was desperate to leave, but a few children desperately want him back because they had his name on the back of their shirt! It is sad and pathetic, he is not the player he was anyway, have some self respect please.}

He has realised the grass isnt greener, everyone makes mistakes! He is only human after all! I think he would jump at the chance to come back, and would get his old form back! Everyone is entitled to their opinions!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinions yes, but that alone doesn't not make those opinions valid. Can't agree with Ed001 more, show some dignity and self respect and also educate yourself. Search for all the comments from that freckly little chap since he left, and search for people ITK who know how he behaved on the way out the door. He's scum and we're well rid so GET OVER IT!!!!!!

Rush did leave for more money in Italy if you look into it and admitted he made a mistake. But he didnt leave negatively and didnt talk down about ou great club like ft

I think if Torres came in right now, i can guarantee about 20-25 goals from him alone. The reason he is underperforming is because he just cant read Chels**t's game plan. Chelsea are like a hybrid of Stoke and Arsenal. They play long balls quite alot but also play alot like Arsenal i.e. when the ball is with Lamps or Mata.

Torres is firmly used to the pass and move system that we deploy thats why he expects a pass to him and then he passes and moves on till the box where a good delivery means he scores if he gets it right. That is not the case at Chelsea.

I for one would welcome him back to Liverpool because quite frankly even Torres not at his best is better than Carroll, did u see him last game??. Even the commentator said the "old" Torres might just be coming back (when he hit the underside of the post), his confidence grew and he influenced most of the game with Mata.
On the other hand, our flop, Andy Carroll was busy kissing the grass everytime he ran and openly missed his chances!!. I would take Torres back for even 25M now and give andy a loan of 2 seasons to a club!!...

I'd have no problem taking him back. Fair enough he left on a bad note but people seam to forget all the good that he done for the club.

Transfer rumour round up:

Strikers:

Darren Bent- Aston Villa: {Ed002's Note - I have no idea the origin of the Bent rumour and I really know of no interest from Liverpool. Many rumours arrive out of speculation, blogs and the over imaginative minds of folks running football websites.}

Roberto Soldrdo- Valencia: {Ed002's Note - Certainly Liverpool have shown some interest in Soldado who is having a good season but his availability in January is by no means certain. At about 25M euro he would not be cheap.}

Moussa Sow- Lille: {Ed001's Note - Sow is available and of some interest to Liverpool. He was always likely to make the move to the Prem. Personally I feel Arsenal are his most likely destination, but that's just based on a feeling not info.}

Podolski- Köln: {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in Podolski from Liverpool. I don't see any chance of Podolski going to a club where he cannot be sure of a starting place - it could well put his international career at risk. Lazio, Spurs and Arsenal have shown an interest but he could decide to move to Turkey with Galatasary or possibly Russia with interest from several clubs including Anzhi and Zenit. If he does move to England, Arsenal is certainly the most likely destination.}

Luk De Jong- FC Twenty: {Ed001's Note - interest is still there but not intended to be a January target as far as I understand, it is just that there is so much interest in him we may be forced to move then.}

Higuain- Real Madrid: {Ed002's Note - Higuain will not be moving to Liverpool in January.}

Demba Ba- Newcastle: {Ed002's Note - Ba will not be moving to Liverpool because of the medical issues he has.}

Lucas Barrios- Dortmund: {Ed002's Note - Whilst I think it unlikely that would interested in moving from Dortmund to Liverpool, it is not totally out of the question that he could be available and Liverpool could bid. He has struggled to get back in the starting line-up after injury and does not seem happy with sitting on the bench. But I would expect Dortmund to be looking for a replacement striker as they already know that there is interest in Lewandowski and whilst they have their target set as Welliton I am not so sure they would let both players leave. I also think if he gets a run of games he will stop bleating and stay.}

Lewandowski- Dortmund: {Ed002's Note - Lewandowski has been watched by Liverpool, Rubin Kazan, Spartak Moscow (who are concerned about losing Welliton) and Lille. He could possibly move in January but Dortmund would need to find a replacement first as they are short on strikers. But you are right that Dortmund may not wish to sell.}

M'Baye Niang- Caen: {Ed001's Note - I believe Comolli has been monitoring his progress through the season, not sure how serious the interest is though.}

Doumbia- CSKA: {Ed001's Note - we have defo had him looked at, we know the price, but as far as I am aware nothing else has happened. Whether that is because we have decided against him or we are just biding our time and will bid for him in Jan, I can only guess at right now/ There has been an enquiry from Newcastle about Doumbia and it is likely if there is another team who have actually enquired it will be Arsenal. No doubt others have had scouts at games but that is some way from making any enquiries for the player. Doumbia does a good job of talking himself up and CSKA will likely want £25M or so for the player. Getting through to the last 16 of the Champions League makes a January move less likely}

Leandro Damiao- Internacional: {Ed002's Note - Leandro Damiao seems to be of interest to several clubs at the moment not least AC Milan who want him to replace Cassano but need to free up a non EU quota spot to buy him. Spurs and Arsenal have apparently have taken a look recently as have Porto and PSG. His agent is talking up offers but that will probably not be anything to do with transfer fees, just possible wages. Over the summer there was also interest from Juve, Roma, Lyon, Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona have shown some interest in the past two months. Juventus may push for a January transfer but I don't see him moving before perhaps January 2013.}

Santiago Garcia- Atletico Paranaense: {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Benfica and Manchester United have taken a look Uruguayan Santiago Garcia - but like with many South Americans, there are complications. Liverpool were looking at the player when he was still playing for Nacional in Uruguay during the summer. This predates Diego Caniggia joining Liverpool but no doubt he is well aware of the situation. The major issue surrounds Garcia failing a drug test (Columbian Nose Candy) following Nacional's Uruguayan cup final victory back in June somethime. However, because the process for conducting drug tests in Uruguay is not regulated or approved any ban he would be given cannot be ratified by the authorities and therefore is only applicable in Uruguay where he no longer plays. As you saw, he is seen as a good talent, but there are issues.}

Toivonen- PSV: {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool, but Sunderland and Aston Villa have made tentative enquiries as have Besiktas. I doubt he will be moving before the summer.}

Huntelaar- Schalke 04: {Ed002's Note - None from Liverpool that we are aware of, but I understand he is open to considering any offers made to Schalke, but they certainly do not want to sell.}

Defoe- Spurs: {Ed002's Note - Defoe wants to stay high profile and play regularly to make sure he gets a Euro place. I understand his concern is that at Spurs he is not starting games. So if Liverpool can give him a start, and want him, and make a bid, then I guess something could be done. A loan is less likely.}

Martinez- Jaguares: {Ed002's Note - There are certainly rumours about Liverpool's interest in Jackson Martinez, but all I can confirm is that Porto and Sporting Lisbon have been interested in him very recently.}

Centre Attacking Mid:

Erikkson- Ajax: {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. Back in mid July someone from the Milan Press Office said he had heard of interest from Manchester United - but I am not aware of any confirmation of that interest. I doubt that January is an option for a move to Liverpool, but perhaps the summer. The player has expressed an interest to move to Spain.}

Ganston Ramirez- Bologna: {Ed002's Note - Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool. I suspect he will not be available until the summer unless a very good offer is made. A move to Sevilla, Palermo or Juventus is also possible - although unsubstantiated rumours suggest Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested. A maybe.}

Goetze- Dortmund: {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona were previously knocked back by his club and Goetze himself has made it clear that he is happy to stay at Dortmund for this season, although no doubt a very significant offer would be listened to. Real Madrid may be able to persuade him to move. He has identified his favourite teams as Barcelona and Arsenal. There is also interest also from AC Milan - and I suspect that they are shifting their interest in Ganso or Fernando to Goetze due to persisting non-EU quota issues. Given that speculation seems to have come to a frenzied head, it will certainly do no harm to say that the long anticpated but previously unpublisized interest in Goetze is from Chelsea. The reason I did not previously say who the player the club were interested in was simply because the club was very keen that it were kept quiet, particularly given that there is no assurance at all that a transfer will be achievable, certainly in the January window. Dortmund have bought Marco Reus, a local player that was on their books as a kid and this may result in Goetze being available in the summer. Chelsea among others have an interest in him. Chelsea know that there will be pressure from elsewhere to buy the player - most notably AC Milan and the major Spanish sides - and are of the opinion that a move to England will probably not come about.}

Lucas Moura- Sao Paulo: {Ed002's Note - If Lucas Moura becomes available I suspect he will end up in Italy. Lucas was enquired about by Liverpool (amongst numerous teams) in the summer and the quoted price was $130M. He may eventually be sold for much less but way more than any English side will pay for an unproven teenager - with figures around 35M euros being suggested. There is, in my view, no chance of him moving to England or to Liverpool in the short term. If pushed, Roma or one of the Milan clubs could attract him away from his other option - a move to Portugal with perhaps third party ownership. However, I doubt he will leave Brazil for perhaps a year or two}

Kagawa- Dortmund: {Ed002's Note - We have no idea how Kagawa would feel toward a move personally, but Liverpool have been one of the clubs, along with Udinese, Spurs, Villarreal and Valencia, who have shown an interest in him this season. Kagawa himself has had a generally pretty poor season although it has picked up recently.}

Coutinho- Inter: {Ed002's Note - Inter offered to loan Coutinho to Bologna as part of a deal for Gaston Ramirez that fell though. I don't think they want to sell but may consider a loan and I suspect they will listen to decent offers. Coutinho would need a work permit so any move would not be easy. A possibility for Liverpool at some point.}

Ozil- Real Madrid: {Ed001's Note - We do have an interest in him and we have apparently asked to be kept abreast of his situation. Summer a slim chance. January no}

Midfielders:

De Rossi- Roma: {Ed002's Note - There is no interest in De Rossi that we know of. As it stands right now I expect De Rossi to sign a new contract at Rome}

James Mclean- Sunderland: {Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry.}

James Mccarthy- Wigan: {Ed002's Note - I am sure Wigan would be willing to let James McCarthy move on if the right offer was made and Liverpool have previously shown an interest. Clubs enquiring in the summer baulked at the £20M price tag.}

Esteban Granero- Real Madrid: {Ed002's Note - Surplus to requirements in Madrid, could interest any number of clubs and may be used as a makeweight in a transfer. Only solid interest at this time has been from Blackburn Rovers and Sevilla but unsubstantiated rumours have linked him to Liverpool and Espanyol as well.}

Hoilett- Blackburn: {Ed002's Note- I don't know of any interest from Liverpool. Spurs, Newcastle, Stoke and possibly Aston Villa have been interested - plus a couple of clubs from Germany.}

Schurrle- Leverkusen: {Ed001's Note - they are not looking to sell him, though I am sure they would be tempted by a big money offer. No idea how much that would be though, not sure why anyone cares to be honest. I don't understand this obsession with player prices at all.}

Yann M'Vila- Rennes {Ed002's Note - Inter, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchestewr City, Juventus, Genoa and perhaps Liverpool & Chelsea showed an interest or enquired about M'Vila this past summer. M'Vila will almost certainly not move until the summer. A very significant bid from Manchester City has already been turned down. With that offer that was made for M'Vila in the summer Rennes have upped their valuation of the player to an extent where Creachcadec has said no Italian team can aford M'Vila. I would expect that there may be interest in him from PSG and possibly Real Madrid by the time he comes up for sale in the summer. I would be astonished if M'Vila moved in January. Price will be a significant issue for Liverpool.}

Moussa Sissoko- Toulouse: {Ed002's Note - Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko is a fine player and has attracted interest from Lyon, Roma, Genoa, Juventus, Liverpool and probably Napoli. Arsenal and Milan's previous interest waned over the summer. Damien Comolli let Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool see his man as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard but for some reason Liverpool failed to make the final push in the summer. Sissoko is available but both Roma and Lyon appear to have the edge over other interested clubs and as far as I know at the moment Liverpool have yet to follow up their previous interest.}

Adam Johnson- Manchester City: {Ed002's Note - Slim but not out of the question.}

Montolivo- Fiorentia: {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have certainly had him watched and the reason that he is of interest is because he has been refusing to sign a new contract. Branchini is assuming that he will run down the contract and leave for free in the summer - thereby getting a large signing on fee which he, as Montolivo's agent will no doubt have a share of.}

Hazard- Lille: {Ed002's Note - Unless an extraordinary bid is made in January, Eden Hazard will not be available to the summer. Real Madrid or Barcelona is his preferred destination. PSG, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are all interested to one degree or another. I said over the summer that I would not be surprised to see Manchester United through their hat in to the ring with Hazard as well. I don't see Hazard moving to Liverpool, Juventus, AC Milan or Arsenal for that matter. Chelsea have maintained a long-term interest but one particularly influential party at the club sees the player as having an attitude problem.}

Marin- Werder Bremen : AC Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Napoli, Juventus and Roma have all shown an interest in Marko Marin in the past and I hear that Arsenal are interested at the moment. Much will depend on whether or not Liverpool make the Champions League as to whether he is a viable option or not. Very unlikely for January. Perhaps Italy is the most likely destination, and I understand his preferred destination.}

Griezmann- Real Sociedad: {Ed002's Note - I really don't know of any serious interest from Liverpool in Griezmann, but he has been watched. Players are watched all of time by scouts representing the likes of Liverpool and more often than not rumours begin when a scout has attended a game and is doing no more than taking a look at one or two players. Valencia, Marseille and Lyon have shown some confirmed interest in the past and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time. The only club that made serious enquiries in the summer were Athletico Madrid and we are aware that such a move would have been acceptable to the player. Chances of a January move anywhere are very slim.}

Krasic- Juventus: {Ed002's Note - Juventus will be open to good offers for Krasic at some point but it is unclear if the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Malaga and Roma are still interested in a player who has not taken well to sitting on the sidelines. The player has declared his interest in Manchester United and it is not out of the question that they may be interested in Krasic. Juventus may value the player out of the winter window though. There is at least one person at Chelsea who very much likes the player and may wish to revisit earlier interest. THere is no indication that Liverpool are interested in him.}

Strootman- PSV: {Ed002's Note - Kevin Strootman maybe possible for Liverpool but I would be surprised if PSV would let him go in the January window. So perhaps one for the future.}

Tiote- Newcastle: {Ed001's Note " No Liverpool interest that I know of His injury record, disappearance to the ACON and regular suspensions are very offputting for teams.}

Lass Diarra- Real Madrid: {Ed002's Note - Lassano Diarra is playing fairly regular at Real Madrid but still may be moving in January or the summer. Anzhi have made a very significant offer but I understand Roma are very interested in the player and the player is open to a move to Rome.}

Fernando Reges- Porto: {Ed002's Note - The Porto player holds a Brazilian passport but AC Milan may challenge Chelsea and Inter Milan for the player at around £20M. Porto are keen to hold on to the player and will attempt to turn down any January bids. AC Milan would need to give up one non-EU player (probably Mario Yepes) to bring Fernando in and may chose to figure out if a deal could be done for Ganso or Goetze instead. He would be a great buy if Liverpool could get him, but we do not know of any confirmed interest at the moment but there has been speculation.}

Xherdan Shaqiri- Basel: {Ed002's Note - If he were to be available now then there would be plenty of interest including at least Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Hamburg, Leverkusen, both Manchester clubs and Liverpool. A January move seems very unlikely}

Muniain- Athletico Bilbao: {Ed002's Note - Muniain has been touted around the clubs on behalf of Bilbao - and two clubs in England have certainly been approached all ready. The asking price is 40M euros. They won't get it. I don't think clubs would risk half of that on a player who is young and has shown himself to be pretty immature. Roma interest is still there but perhaps an eventual move to Barcelona beckons.}

Redmond- Birmingham: {Ed002's Note - He seems to be attracting some attention from Liverpool but I don't know that he will be moving in January.}

Looking at all these posts you can see that Ed001 and Ed002 do so much work on the Liverpool page at replying to post and I am sure that there are more Eds working behind the scenes. Stop slating them because they don't give the answer you want to hear.

PS anything to add eds?

Davis93

Brilliant effort.
With the increasing number of "targets" it must be taking you longer and longer to put it together!
Cheers.

You've said pretty much about everyone Ed except the ones that our most probable targets:
Castaignos and Coutinho. {Ed002's Note - I gave an opinion but it was not included in the round up.}

Thanks for the post ed but I guarantee some of the eejits on this website won't be bothered to read it and ask the same questions over and over

LFC will this week buy a south American striker who is playing in Holland. Mark my words

Hi eds, I love this sit but there was something that really caught my attention earlier yesterday morning. My uncle is a taxi driver and he picked up Shola Ameobi on his way out of Chesterfield the night before and said that it has buzzing around Newcastle's training ground that Andy Carroll is on his way back and Demba Ba is on his way to Liverpool. He didn't mention a fee obviously, but he did say it is for sure and it will probably cost Newcastle more money as he thinks that Demba is a better player anyway. He also said that he is going to end his career at Newcastle too [Shola of course]

Just wanted to tell you.

Thanks eds

Just wanted to tell us a load of nonsense

Well that's the first time I've ever heard of a taxi driver not mentioning a fee. Can't see it!

Y even bother.get a life!jonny m

Would you trust Dalglish with more money in the transfer market? I wouldn't, and before you all start jumping down my throat ask yourselves this question.

If Carroll,Downing,Henderson and Adam were sold this January would we miss them.

I think we all know the answer to this.

I absolutely agree with you. Dalglish is no better than Hodgson or Rafa

If you support Liverpool you support each and ever player, how about u go and support another team cos you have no loyalty

Totally agree. Really do hope for KK sake he turns things around and sharpish. 7 draws at home is simply not good enough.

Carroll, Downing, Henderson and Adam are not good enough to play for Liverpool in my opinion

Agree an his tactics today were terrible.

Yes, we all do know the answer dont we...its damien commolli. he scouts and aproves transfers.

Typical 'fan'' Hendo is improving game after game. Carroll and Downing are poor because everytime they get the ball they sh*t themselfs because everyone on their back. Admittedly they could do better and with support they will with negative comments and feeling they will not. I bet you called for Lucas's head two years ago 'no mate i always knew he would come good' dont talk rubbish and support your team or pick a team thats winning. its in the name 'supporters' not 'fans'

I think instead of being so negative I think we should all get behind the lads, yes they might have not always had the rub of the green but given time I have faith in The King and everyone he buys and plays

Rafa as better tactically. he just did not have the funds and was constantly pulled back with all the politics going on at that time. we have spent a lot of money, the results and performances should have been better. it does not mean we are not supporters, we still support our club. but a bad performance is a bad performance. i do think with the money we have spent we could have bought better players. the ones for the future and also for the present. if the players for the future cost 20 mil how much does a player for the present cost? this simply cant be an excuse for the bad performance

I think it's way too soon to judge Downing, Henderson or Adam. Any signing needs to be given time to bed in properly, and a few months is too soon to start to judge. Hendo has impressed me, he's young but gifted, and with time will become a fantastic player. Downing is on the cusp, he's not playing badly, it's just the final ball that's still lacking (he's not alone there).

Adam has impressed me - I didn't particularly want him at the club, but he is committed, and he's been good every time I see him. He does the simple things well, but I think a lot of fans were expecting to see a fair amount of goals from him. He plays a different role with us to how he played with Blackpool though.

As for Carroll, he's become a hate figure for no good reason. He's young, he's adapting to a different kind of football, and he has a lot of fans on his back who have forgotten the Liverpool way (yes, the same ones who having a pop at Lucas a few seasons back). He's short of confidence is all. If given time I honestly feel he will be a frightening prospect for defenders to deal with. Now with Gerrard back, I believe we'll start to see a new Carroll. Don't forget how unlucky he has been - he looked a handful at times in the cup at City.

I have to agree, I think all the above mentioned players are just not good enough. I wonder if another manager would still be employed now had they made the same purchases, Kenny is a legend agreed, however I do struggle with understanding a lot of decisions he has made. 35 million pounds on someone who has had half a good season is a joke. Nothing more than a panic buy. Can anyone honestly say that they think Henderson is worth 20 million, not a chance, many changes needed I think. Sorry this post seems negative but think it contains valid points.

Its more the weird tactic of 3 defenders and 3 midfielders and no striker...dirk kuyt is as much a striker as Gerrard is a goalkeeper

Your not a 'supporter' if you do not 'support' the team your a fan, I agree Rafa was not backed correctly moves for Silva and Villa got pulled by the owners last min we all know that, i for one would love to see Rafa back but not yet. Kenny is the right man for this club at the moment. this time 13 months ago we were nearly going into administration with no money no moral, sitting in the bottom half of the league. This season although not as good as we should be still looking so so much better. Attacking football lots of possession just a couple of pieces of the jigsaw missing. Completely different team with Lucas in there and again with Suarez in there. The big man needs time - as did Lucas (i am pretty certain you didn't expect Lucas to be fundamental to our success) Its nice and easy to sit behind your computer moaning about the team but when you spend nearly £800 on a season ticket and and still support your team no matter what even when you know things need time or changing, that's when you can call yourself a supporter and not a fan, because i am supporting the team financially, vocally and completely. Trust me its much more difficult to do when you've paid but continue your support. Im not on my high horse here i am just asking people to support the team, i welcome our supporters from around the globe as well to be part of the Liverpool family but when it brings negativity, not so good.

A manager is judged by his signings if the 70odd million was spent wisely we would be challenging for the title now. Must be the slowest team in the league

Damian comolli picks the transfers how can people dought kenny... {Ed002's Note - Rubbish.}

I just want to say that I think that Stimes is dead on regarding Carroll and Downing. I asked around and as far as I was told the confidence problem is being treated in the best possible way. But of course, players rely on us mostly. If you remember how Gerrard started, if he was coming through the ranks nowdays he would have been slaughtered. I think that today, in general, people are less patient and want instant everything. Instant stardom, success, progress etc. It shows in every aspect of our lives these days, and it is fundamentally wrong in my humble opinion. One of my best sources works for one of (if not) the biggest agents and if he was like that, he's hardly ever bring himself to make a recommendation. You have to see beyond the mistakes, realize the potential, be patient and supportive and it will come good. Give the lads a chance to grow, like Gerro (Temper), Carra (own goals) and Lucas (bad tackles and passing).
-=Solar=-

Prob the similar divs who are down keans neck at Blackburn. Feel for them as a club they need people behind them not against them. Unfortunately fans optimism sometimes overrides the realism and the only people they can blame is the front line = manager when it's themselves it should be for being over optimistic (or maybe it should be unrealistic?!)

Cant disagree. Nearly £80million spent on these 4 players. At Spurs this is what nearly £80m gets you: Van Der Vaart £8m, Modric £16m, Bale £7m, Lennon £3m, Parker £5m, Adebayor loan/Defoe £12m, Pavlychenko £10m, Peeinar £3m, Kranjaer £3m, Sandro £7m, Huddleston £5m).

If you were John Henry, would you give a singe yankee dollar to either KD or DC??

5times - you are the type of fan/supporter that is the problem!

You follow blind no matter what the facts are! I won't bullsh*t and say that I'm a season ticket holder but I do go to most games (whatever relevance that has to this argument, as u state ur a season ticket holder)

The poster of this comment is exactly right in what he was saying..

Also dalglish coming in to save the club was his job, as nostalgia alone over a short period was always going to pull us through..but over a long term was never the man to pull us through long term, he has been out of the game too long and is old school..football has changed so much nowadays on so many levels, that the old school managers don't exist anymore, or are in a small minority, where is Joe royle, Howard kendall, Dave Bassett, George Graham, Bryan little (to name a few off the top of my head) Kenny is a legend but he isn't the man to bring the glory back to Liverpool, the sooner u stop hiding behind some fairy tale, the better!

Funnily enough it wasn't until Comolli left spurs that they started making inspired signings and progressing domestically. We shouldn't be sure that all of these choices are Kenny's. We are perhaps too rigid though with our transfer "Policy". What ever happened to a great player being a great player regardless of age?

Not true hendo has set up many people this year... they jjust cant finish... one example
hendo to downing in a 3 0 loss to city last week 9 mins in downing kicks at the goalie instead of chip or shoot around him

Comolli signings at Arsenal and Spurs : Bale Pav Modric Ekotto Clichy Toure kaboul Berbatov ........... Rubbish them some crap in there as well but he aint all bad is he ladies

If you go the games then you will know that the consensus in the sandon and around the ground is give them time. no ones hiding behind a fairy tale. I'm just realistic. Spurs have spent 8mil less over past 5 years and only this season are looking decent after stability with an 'old school' manager. Also please sign off your posts so in 12 months when your saying 'i always said Carroll would come good' or 'why would anyone want to sack kenny' i can say a nice big i told you so. Did you get on Lucas's back 2 years ago???

5times*****

Stupid post if you wont get behind the team.. go support somebody else!

These players will all come good, you expect everyone to move and turn it on within monyhs. Don't hear you moaning about Suarez or Enrique!!

Dont blame tactics or players we need a bit of luck don,t doubt kenny next youll be biging up whoever scored against bolton and kenny got the tactics spot on we need a wee bitta luck and to get behind the team

Adam has contributed directly to more of Liverpools goals than any other Liverpool player. We would miss them. Look at the stats before you jump on players backs.

What people are forgetting is that this is a project. Projects are not completed overnight. It's a work in progress. Some of the fans are being extremely impatient, and I really can't blame them, but they really do need to look at the bigger picture which is that we're now not in huge debt which means in the future we'll have a hell of a lot more funds in terms of transfers, we're still in a strong position in the league (not first like you all want) but still strong nonetheless, we have youth coming through and owners that seem to care and have good business know how.

The players that we've bought are part of the 'overall project', but are by no means the final product.

Our target was 4th place, it was a high target, and we're a little 'off pace', but it's still possible. Our target isn't 1st, that's what people are failing to realise.

New players, tactics, managers take time to gel, simple as that. We are delivering, just not as well as we'd all like.

We're half way to our first final in how many years?

I really think a manager should have 3 years to put his plans into place, Kenny has 3 years, judge him at the end of his contract, but more importantly believe in what we have, it really is better than a lot of people think.

Does this help on the spending bandwagon?

www.transferleague.co.uk/premiership-transfers/liverpool-transfers.html

10-11 Season:
Bought: £56m
Sold: £35

09-10 Season:
Bought: £80m
Sold: £85m

Spent since current owners: £135m
Recouped since current owers: £115m

Total spent by current owners: £20m

We're working differently now, we're working as a sensible club, not like the City, Utd etc who are spending beyond their means. City owners will get bored, as did Blackburn, Leads, Newcastle etc. We will be a business, making profit to spend rather than spending profits on debt.

It takes time.

It was tactically worrying today - 3 centre backs, a left back and a right back, 3 central midfielders, Downing and Kuyt? Surely a few peoples eyebrows were raised by that team selection?

Can anyone answer me why didn't Bellamy and Carroll start? Physical game like today perfect for Carroll and Bellamy has been on good form for the past 2 months now - Downing has been getting worse and worse he needs dropping for a few games to get his head right.

I've been a big critic of Carroll but the service the lad has been given the last few weeks has been really really poor, without us attacking creatively we won't make many chances and as a result Carroll will not score many goals. I hope we turn it around but we seem lacking in every way attacking wise, worrying times. {Ed001's Note - why is it tactically wrong to completely control a game and shut the opposition out of it? The issue wasn't the tactics, the issue was with the personnel on the pitch lacking creativity and ability. Gerrard looked like a player coming back from injury, Suarez is banned, and we had no one else driving into the box looking to get on the end of crosses.}

Have to say, I am usually one to trust in those who make the decisions at the club. They are appointed to their jobs for a reason buy would we miss those players if they left.

Carrol- has done virtually nothing. Sean Dundee was as valuable. He may come good but on performance to date would not be missed.

Henderson- Kuyt has done a job out wide up until hendo came in. Henderson doesn't seem to had any new dimension to our midfield. Would not be missed.

Downing- Maxi has shown on his limited appearances this term that he can score goals. Not the future of our club by any means but more end product than downing.

Adam- until he missed the penalty was great but seems to lack confidence at the minute. I do however think he has too much to offer and would be missed.

We need to invest but I feel we need someone who can make an impact now. These signings will be good. Am confident of it but they aren't the answer got right now.

I digress. Maybe I'm just still annoyed after. MOTD tonight!

"Cant disagree. Nearly £80million spent on these 4 players. At Spurs this is what nearly £80m gets you: Van Der Vaart £8m, Modric £16m, Bale £7m, Lennon £3m, Parker £5m, Adebayor loan/Defoe £12m, Pavlychenko £10m, Peeinar £3m, Kranjaer £3m, Sandro £7m, Huddleston £5m)."

this just reinforces the point about giving the players time. fine, so some of those players were good straight away, but bale, lennon, even modric weren't great in their first season, and pienaar and kranjcar barely get a game, so their hardly good business!

I think andy will come good its not his fault we paid 35m for him he is young and learning everyone knows we paid to much but dont judge the lad over his price thats not fair 10m to 15m would of been good for him but he will come good he need support from fans not stick....adam will come good as well... heno is young so need's time..downing will be judged at the end.. remember lucas everyone hated him and if he left we be raging so come on lads YNWA lets see out the rest of the season no matter what the out come is

I agree that stability is important for any club, but afraid I don't see the evidence for "bedding in" beyond perhaps 2 or 3 matches. Aguero? Mata? Nobody waiting around for their potential to manifest itself. Nonetheless, negativity midway through a season, and particularly at Anfield, helps noone.

Just my tuppence.

Dr S. Atire.

Gareth Bale great signing by Spurs? Looks good now but remember not that long ago Forest wouldn't meet Spurs £3million asking price for him. Give our players time and support.

This is a working project and expectations were unrealistic because of the influx of new players and the Kenny effect. Hopefully we will get another couple of quality players in Jan YNWA

Can i ask that Carroll will better than suarez in future? We still need to wait how many games? Is it wait untill 2 year cant qualify in CL ? This window will no have any transfer, KK said. We using this squad to qualify CL? 1 word hard. Using weird squad. Carroll performance was good than suarez? So we still need to wait ... gives some times. 1 year already. still in 6th of EPL. no hav any changes. I dont think so that Carroll worth 35m than suarez ( 22m ). So is it we still dont have any transfer target in this window? Kuyt need to sell ASAP, Downing need to work hard to contribute in the club, however Adam need to rest few games. Hendo was improving, Johnson and gerard can cooperate, Bellamy and Maxi can Push forword, Kelly need to give more games experience, Carragcher can totally retire, Coates was good sub, and Carroll must put into SUB untill he feet and improve his reaction. Just like Berbatov at MU. Finally, we totally must buy 3 side of players, 1 forward, 1 RWM/CM , and 1 CB.

Sorry if im wrong.

Twitter is a great example to see what "so called" lfc fans are about, when we win its King Kenny, when we lose its the blame game! No support what so ever! {Ed002's Note - The best way to ease stress would be to close the Liverpool game an hour before kick off and open it 24 hours after the game ends.}

Would we hex, likes?

5 times...

Harry redknapp hasnt been out of the game for 10 years, in that time, coaching, fitness, management techniques have all changed..

Of course its a blame game if we lose..as we are no better off since Benitez left, we definitely started to go stale in last days, hodgson came in and was happy with a point at wolves..Kenny came in (for me from the start should of been to stabilize the club for a more established, current manager to take over the club) the problem is, if newcastle win today, we are in 7th, if that had been Roy hodgson, he'd be out!

We would miss adam but the rest we wouldnt!

So with you being so enlightened in the 'new' techniques how do you explain the far far better football we have been playing since Woy left? or is roy 'old school' now? Who would you replace Kenny with then? Hiddink would not come and i think that's the only manager who alot of people would take over Kenny?

Please sign off your posts, it looks like you have no confidence in your statements

ed is it possible we could sign both podolski and sow {Ed002's Note - Pretty much anything is possible but it won't happen. I doubt either will arrive in January.}

When I look at all Ed comments, we are not signing anybody this window. The truth is we should stop wasting our time with these rumuors

I think this wont hapen in the same window

Hi eds, great site and thanks for all your time. Anyway, my Dad is friends with Jim Beglin and he told my Dad today that we tried to sell Carroll back to Newcastle for 10m. I'm not trying to stir anything, I'm quite a Carroll supporter, but surely Jim Beglin is quite a reliable source? I have seen the rumours of this the past few weeks and believed it's not true, and also read that you've said it's rubbish, but the fact that it's come from him has worried me because I don't believe we should be doing something like that (neither do I believe that Kenny would do that; he seems pretty wise to me).

Thanks for any time or replies!

I think our Jimmy is being a naughty little leprechaun and pulling you leg!

Na cant see it happeneing would make kenny look to bad not a carroll fan but give the lad a chance

Why would we be willing to sell him for 10 mil, and take such a loss on what we paid for him when we dont have a replacement for him ,without a doubt the lad will come good and start proving his value for money in the coming seasons ,im sure kenny knows better than anyone else .

Sellling Carrol for 10 mill, is pretty wise, he is a liability, tripping over himself and just does not fit Liverpool style. I am surprise we can sell him for 10 mill for this useless donkey.

Know that this sounds like one of those not again rumours, but have had info from two sources, one is a friend of an employee at anfield, the other is a scout at melwood. Carroll is homesick, and will leave, Torres is a done deal {Ed002's Note - If Torres is a "done deal" then why was he playing for Chelsea today - or do you mean the deal was done after the game in the showers?}

(I'm the guy who posted) I do support and believe Carroll a lot, so don't think I do, it's just my Dad and Brother don't and I'm always defending him and then my Dad came out with this, and it just worried me a bit. I also can't see Kenny doing this, because he is a future investment and recently I think I've realised why Kenny isn't buying anyone, because he's letting the current & young team settle and start playing as themselves, and grow together. I don't think buying a striker and maybe a creative winger would go amiss though!

This is no BS, did you see torres face coming off the pitch today, smacked arse!

Ed-great website, but im telling you, torres will be in a liverpool shirt come february

Toon4life here - won't pay £10m for 10 Carrolls. King Kenny is spending your money with no accountabilty, you're finished!

Yo eds. I have been reading a lot about us being in for granero from real. I hope it isnt true as he is absolute gash. He isnt any better than the mids weve got at the moment. I am praying for a striker,attacking mid and a right winger. But i very much doubt my prayers will be answered.

When have you seen him play. He looked good before he joined Real.

Granero is more creative than Lucas, Downing and Spearing put together.

I am afraid your prayers will not be answered. Our club has lost the ambition of being a top club.

14 Jan 2012 18:11:15
Ed002's Note - Defoe wants to stay high profile and play regularly to make sure he gets a Euro place. I understand his concern is that at Spurs he is not starting games. So if Liverpool can give him a start, and want him, and make a bid, then I guess something could be done.

Take it you have this on cut and paste ed haha.

The beeman

How can Defoe leave a club that is fighting for the title to a team that is fighting to hang on to 6th position and whose only hope of playing in Europe is the Carling Cup. Think again mate!

I think most of the stuff they say about players is copy and paste and to be fair, after using this site for jus over a year, its clear to see why, no doubt enterin the same thing every 5 mins for the same question jus worded differently is a hell of a lot of hassle, thats not sayin they copy and paste everythin, sometimes, its funny as hell

Carb {Ed002's Note - I sometimes change the odd word to see if anyone spots the differences. Things like deleting the "not" from "Eden Hazard will not be joining Liverpool in January."}

14 Jan 2012 17:57:45
hey eds, could you shed the light on a signing that is realistic this january? have we held talks with anyone? fed up of all the speculation to be honest. cheers eds great site. redreece. {Ed002's Note - You need to read the posts Reece. Try searching for "round up"}

14 Jan 2012 17:40:43
Hi eds this is my first post...Can you fill me in on what's going on with Loic Remy. Are we interested? Also is it true that he said he wants to play for Liverpool? Also is Sow at ACON and if he is why are we interested in him?

American Red {Ed002's Note - There have been no approaches to Marseille regarding Loic Remy from Liverpool but a third party (an agent) suggested to Marseille that there is interest from Spurs and some sort of exchange for Pavlyuchenko was proposed which was immediately dismissed. Remy would perhaps be interested in a move to a leading side in the summer but Marseille may price him out of the market as they have no interest in selling at this time unless a very good offer is made. There has been a suggestion that Arsenal could also be interested in Remy.

Sow is in Africa and Liverpool have looked at him. Being at the Africa Cup of Nations does not disqualify a player from moving in January.}

14 Jan 2012 17:41:11
paper talk says sow to join in the summer, ed wat dya reckon?

14 Jan 2012 17:33:26
ed are rumours about granero true?

at the game notice the boos and jeers to andy carrolls dive and then the fans start singing torres chant...

wafa {Ed002's Note - There is seeminingly nothing mor ethan a vague statement from his agent.}

Carrol is good screw torres the traitor left coz the money greedy t**t

What are you on about mate I was in the kop and there were no boos or jeers or Torres chants.

Pleased to hear there was no booing or jeering. Andy is playing poorly and looks a bad investment but fans getting on his back will not help him or the club.

Stoke fans were singing Ricardo Fuller stoke's number 10 to the tune of the torres song. and i think the boos were aimed at webb

Was booing Webb not Carroll. "Torres" song was stoke fans. Clueless.

I was at the game and there was no boos or torres song from the kop ref andy Carrol performance. Shame our second half delivery wasnt as good as the first half when Andy wasnt on pitch poss different result.
Marco

Rubbish i was in the kop and that never happened plus there at least 2 stone wall pens for carroll one where he was in a head lock so dont talk rubbish !

14 Jan 2012 17:30:06
Eds do you know of any interest in a striker?! We are so desperate for one is sad! We will never break in to the top 4 with the current forward line we have! I love my team but come every week at 16:45 i'm mad has hell.

All I look forward to your replies.

Redman 10 {Ed002's Note - Of course - you need to read the posts and perhaps look at the transfer round up.}

I'm sorry, andy isn't playing well but in fairness d supply is dreadful. KK didnt help things today either with his lineup . Kuyt has been a great servant but he shouldn't b playing up front on his own. Carroll should only be judged when he's played regularly, he's missed chances but the supply at times is non existent.

14 Jan 2012 17:19:33
Eds,

With Granero's agent coming out and saying Granero wants to come to LFC, what are the realistic chances?

Matt from SA {Ed002's Note - Has to be a chance. Surplus to requirements in Madrid, could interest any number of clubs and may be used as a makeweight in a transfer. Only solid interest at this time has been from Blackburn Rovers and Sevilla but there are only unsubstantiated rumours linking him to Liverpool and Espanyol as well.}

14 Jan 2012 16:09:49
hi eds, is it possible for liverpool to sign josip ilicic or pablo piatti

thanks {Ed002's Note - Whilst possible chances of Ilicic would be very slim and Piatti has only moved recently to Valencia, so he would not move.}

14 Jan 2012 15:56:05
hi eds, what are the chances of us signing josip ilicic or pablo piatti?

thanks {Ed002's Note - Very slim and zippo.}

14 Jan 2012 15:32:26
Hi Eds,

Just wondering if there's any interest in Defoe? He'd score goals and I'm sure he'd feature more for us than spurs. I know ideally he'd be more suited to a low/mid table team like Everton or Bolton coz he'd play more but I'm just curious why we don't go for him.

Cheers

Mike {Ed002's Note - Defoe wants to stay high profile and play regularly to make sure he gets a Euro place. I understand his concern is that at Spurs he is not starting games. So if Liverpool can give him a start, and want him, and make a bid, then I guess something could be done.}

14 Jan 2012 14:55:12
would love liverpool to sign pavylchenko, great player in my opinion and never starts for spurs

Not a very good player

Nothing better than we already have
Hans

Seriously please take him!

You think he's a great player but he never gets a start for his club! Well that tells us a lot about your ability to judge a player's skills!

14 Jan 2012 14:45:14
Liverpool will not sign anyone this January! not an itk but there doesn't appear to be anything happening atm...

Your right about that,At home games defo.

If we do not sign another striker and right winger then we will not finish in the top five never mind top four. We don't need to spend a massive fee for a striker just someone up and coming from abroad for say £10m or less.

14 Jan 2012 14:34:04
hi eds, would it be possible for liverpool to sign cerci or gaitan.

thanks {Ed002's Note - I would be a little surprised if there were interest in Cerci from Liverpool as I am not sure he would provide an improvement over what the club already has. Manchester United and Barcelona are both interested in the winger but PSG may be the first to put an offer on the table. Asking price is an issue. My understanding is that Manchester United and PSG have spoken with Benfica but no bid has been made. Barcelona are also interested but I suspect would like to wait until the summer. Napoli may well become interested as well.}

14 Jan 2012 14:30:42
Ed, what are the chances of us signing 'Luc castiagnos'? {Ed002's Note - There may well be a chance of him joining. You need to read the posts from two or three days back.}

14 Jan 2012 14:17:37
My source say valbuena is joining. Ed agree? {Ed002's Note - Valbuena was for sale over the summer and there was interest from several clubs, with Arsenal showing some interest the previous year - due to a enquiry via Jose Anigo that was pushed back at the time. There was also speculation in France that Arsenal would make an approach to Marseille to take Valbuena as a replacement for Nasri but that never happened. Right now the player is not looking to move and Marseille are not looking to sell - but no doubt a massive offer might tempt them. There is no interest from Liverpool.}

14 Jan 2012 13:38:37
Eds yesterday following a post from someone else (sorry fogot name) I asked why we don't go for Clint Dempsey...he has everything we need at this time and would not cost a lot in fee or wages..
No-one has come on agreeing and no-one has come on saying NO....is it just the two of us who think he could do a job for us?

Puzzled {Ed002's Note - Whether he could or not there is no known interest from Liverpool and Fulham will not want to sell him.}

Where would Dempsey fit into the team? Whose position would he fill? He's a good player for Fulham but for the money that they would want for him and his age he would need to slot into the first team straight away. For those reasons I don't believe that there will be a bid imminent.

Pepe's barber.

I agree with you, he would be a very good signing, he show passion in his play and scores goals

14 Jan 2012 13:28:52
Read some reports on the Liverpool Forum about Loic Remy is there interest in him again his agent said he is interested in a move to us {Ed002's Note - I can say with certainty that there have been no approaches to Marseille regarding Loic Remy from Liverpool at this time. However a third party (an agent) suggested to Marseille that there is interest from Spurs and some sort of exchange for Pavlyuchenko was proposed - and that was immediately dismissed. Remy would perhaps be interested in a move to a leading side in the summer but Marseille may price him out of the market as they have no interest in selling at this time unless a very good offer is made. There has been a suggestion that Arsenal could also be interested in Remy.}

Cheers, said 15 million on the report didn't think he would go for that cheap during January

The article I saw on Remy was that he couldn't turn down a move to Spurs and Dreams to play in EPL but they didnt say anything about Liverpool, supposenly his agent went to Liverpool cause Liverpool are intrested in him. I wouldn't believe much what a agent says mainly cause they are in it for there next big pay cheque.

14 Jan 2012 12:32:10
Lucas Ocampos rated at £15m, we should try and get him forget Hazard, Ericksson etc .. he is 17 and a great talent.

BigD {Ed002's Note - Lucas Ocampos plays for River Plate and has been looked at by a number of sides with Bayern Munich and Chelsea maintaining an interest. I understand that Diego Caniggia took a look on behalf of Liverpool but it was decided that he would be too expensive to buy. That seems to have ended any brief interest that Liverpool had. Valencia, Sevilla and Palermo have also shown an interest and Juventus have made a bid of $15.5M.}

1-wilfred zara still cosidered raw talemt that need to be polish. Clearly if lfc want to achieve top 4, he will not be sign. Lfc will go for proven goal scorer. Sow, Dema ba, zarate, milito,
2-Lfc may not sign another Dmf since they will use either Spearo and Conor coady.
3-Other winger will be sign so that bellamy can play upfront. Possibly natural right winger.

Loic Remy's agent said that Liverpool will have a meeting about Remy this week and that he has his heart set on Liverpool. Is this true?

I can't find it

G3rr4r13

His agent is just bigging him up to ALL prem sides.

His agent said that in the summer, its recycled news

14 Jan 2012 12:59:12
Is there any interest from liverpool in Remy
he supposedly wants to play for liverpool
thanks

When Meireles left Kenny admitted this wasn't part of the plan. Makes sense that we would add a similar type player. Of those available, Granero probably fits best. Coutinho not the same but would ultimately be a wise addition. I think we will get one of these two. Sow or De Jong in summer. No striker in january.
Coop

I think Henderson and Shelvey have already adequately replaced that tackle shirker Meireles.

Hugh Pugh.

We need a striker unless they're going to give some of the young ones a go...

No striker in January? The only thing we need is an 'effin striker man!

Granero is a different sort of player to miereles surely. Assuming you mean the Granero who cannot geta a game at Real Madrid. Personally I think he would be a good signing as he is a wide player who also gets goals. Seems to be prepared to battle as well.

Tackle shirker is a perfect description of meireles, granero would be a better option imo

Morning Eds and fellow reds .
Just had a quick YouTube look at sow from Lille he should fit in well the first 25seconds of the video he hits the post and bar about 8 times .he will be pefect cheers psv

How about putting it in the net?
DM {Ed001's Note - obviously you missed the irony there.....}

We have more than enough hits of the post and the bar. Ask Downing if you don't believe me.

Ha ha I thought the same. He should get a new agent to manage his pr better and produce his YouTube clips. Soldado has a good one.

We have hit the woodwork enough already this season.Keep up the great work eds
Eric The Real Red
YNWA

Ed001 - so did you!
DM {Ed001's Note - yours wasn't irony.}

Great just what we need someone else to hit the bar and not score.

What perfect for hitting the bar?? Havent we done enough of that so far this season?

Aquilani and kuyt plus 15 million for pato,
you heard it here first

Would love this to happen

Aqualani has already been sold,

Conor {Ed002's Note - Notquite yet but he probably will be in a couple of months.}

Wasn't the agreed upon fee for Pato to PSG around 35m (Euros?). I know the deal collapsed, but I highly doubt Milan would accept this offer. You do know that Aquilani can move to Milan for 6m euros? That would suggest Milan are willing to accept 14m as the price for Kuyt. Somehow I don't think so.

And sure not to hear it again-dckhd

Guys, i think he meant 25M, though Milan will push it up to 30M? However i would welcome Pato as he and Suarez would be great. They are kind of similar but Pato adds that spark to the strikeforce which Carroll doesnt. I bet he can even win areal battles better than Andy.

Yes he is injury prone, so its a big risk, but i have this feeling that like my best defender at LFC Daniel Agger, he too will get over it. The best part is, he is only what 22 or 23??. By 25 he will be in full flow.

Now i am not saying this deal will happen, but if it does, LFC will have one hell'uva attackforce with or without Andy!!...

CHEERS, Alzonator..

Does Daniel Pacheco actually have a future at this club? I know he's on loan at the moment but I am surprised has hasn't got more game time. {Ed002's Note - He has no future at Liverpool.}

What happened with Daniel Pacheo at Liverpool? {Ed002's Note - It never worked out and he has been loaned out. He will not be returning.}

How are you so sure? {Ed002's Note - What sort of answer are you expecting to that question?}

From what I remember didn't he decide to stay in bed rather than go tons reserve match ,and the coaching staff didn't think he put in the required amount of effort in training ,is that about right ed ?

Ed, is there any truth in Moussa Sow rumor ? {Ed002's Note - I don't know what this rumour is or where it is from. Sorry.}

Daily mail are reporting it along with granero from madrid... total bulls**t {Ed002's Note - Ok - well Moussa Sow is available and has been looked at by Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle. Lille have been actively looking for a replacement.}

14 Jan 2012 10:42:05
Any truth in the joe cole and moussa sow swap deal eds or macca?
{Ed002's Note - None that I am aware but Cole is open to making the move to Lille permanent in the summer.}

Morning Ed002 I thought Cole to Lille permanent was not an option due to the huge gap between what Cole will want in wages compared to what Lille can afford

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - He is certainly willing to consider it if a deal can be struck.}

14 Jan 2012 10:41:03
I've heard that Conor Coady is on the bench today.

Corkpoolred

Could be!
Spearing did have that hamstring problem and will probably be back only next week!
Hope he gets a run out!

PITSILFC

Heard the same. Due to the injuries of Lucas and Spearing, we are a little short. Henderson, Gerrard and Adam will start levinh Shelvey our only other option other than Coady. He impressed Dalglish during pre-season especially with the brilliant goal he scored.
Also heard Raheem Sterling will be on the bench. Maxi is looking for a new club so my not be risked.

Squad released on LFC site and no Coady or Sterling on the bench. Coates, Carragher and Kuyt start. We're also starting with 5 defenders, Carroll on the bench and Agger not in the Squad.

Maxi is not in the squad either.

Hi Ed, Dont understand this formation. We're playing at home with 1 forward. First half is finish and said forward has rarely been in the box in fact no one is justin a gut to get in the box. Hate this 1 4 5 formation.
Is there a place in europe for the dullest team. Johnson and Enrique are trying but thats about it. were playing stoke for god's sake. Carroll should be straight on. Shawcross is booked. Woodgate can only do about 60 mins. C'mon reds make us proud. Larry Lloyd is legend. {Ed001's Note - if there is a dull team it is Stoke, we just need more bodies getting in the box is all.}

14 Jan 2012 10:40:25
Two players coming:
1. Dempsey - Fulham - £12m
2. Defoe - Spurs - £7.5m
Both to sign next week.

So were gonna buy two strikers and dempsey costs more than defoe

I think defoe eould cost more than dempsey

You do not sign your post, which lacks a lot of credibility.
Defoe does want more first team action but he is scoring when hes playing, so 'Arry will reaasure him im sure, although it is a possibility.
Dempsey does not fit in with NESV transfer criteria, he is a good player but would cost far too much for his quality as he is one of Fulhams main players and practically indispensible to there season/club.
If it comes off it comes off, but sign your posts to add credibility.
Macca has always signed his posts, and even when people doubted them the majority have come through, which is why he is held in high regard and has his own link on the site.

Anfield Andy

Dempsey for £12m? Haha. Behave.

Joking or true?

That would be awesome if we got them

You are either drunk or insane if you believe a 29 year old Dempsey is a £12 million target.

14 Jan 2012 10:37:50
Why do we not loan Granero from Madrid? We could have option to buy at end of loan period and we could get a good look at him. Lets be honest, he won't play for Madrid again this season so lets make a loan bid?

14 Jan 2012 10:25:13
SSN are claiming that Liverpool are monitoring the Defoe situation

Dore99

Hope not!!

M. sissoko to sign before euros

I'd take that. Defoe is quality

Did he not slate scousers with g bale?

So true about Defoe being quality. Get him in just off Carroll and watch our goals total rise! he could definately be the missing piece of our puzzle

He would be available for about 9M. He has scored 48 goals in his last 100 games. He still has a couple of years at the top left in him. He knows the league and he knows how to finish. What more do you want?

I believe it was Lennon and Bale who had a go at scousers. Don't rate Defoe very selfish player IMO

Go get him Kenny Please

Please God no. He is no more the 'missing piece of the puzzle' than Oyvind Leonhardsen was.

I'd rather some 18 year old with an exotic name from the Costa Rican 2nd division that cost ten euros. That would excite me more than the prospect of Defoe.

Were we to sign Defoe. I would immediately know that Kenny can never bring us the title back. I would be sad, but I would refuse to live in denial - it would be a Roy Hodgson's-wet-dream of a signing in all honesty.

Thankfully. I don't think Kenny is quite that stupid.

BJH YNWA.

ps - 'Liverpool are monitoring the Defoe situation'. Does that mean someone saw Stevie G reading a newspaper? What the hell does that even mean?

An enquiry about him? a phone call? No. They are 'monitoring' him - actually not him, they are monitoring his 'situation'. lol.

Probably Defoe's agent hoping to stir interest from the likes of West Ham imo.

BJH YNWA

Hearing that Joe Cole is wanted at Spurs so there maybe some truth in this.

14 Jan 2012 10:19:07
Some of the morning papers have hinted at Esteban Granero possibly joining us in the summer. In fact wikipedia already have him down as a Liverpool player (rubbish I know). Have you heard anything that would either confirm or deny these rumours.

Great site and keep up the good work.

Swanny {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off and no summer purchases have been made.}

14 Jan 2012 09:44:29
I think if Liverpool were going to buy a striker this window it would have made sense to do so from the start of the window. Liverpool want to go with the players that they have. Bellamy and Ste g can both help Suarez fire us to the all important fourth place.

Do you really think it's tht simple? Just pick a player and a day and it's all sorted before lunch? Transfer can take weeks, even months to complete...

After tonights game you can say goodbye to the top 4...we are too far behind..

14 Jan 2012 09:43:56
Wilfrid Zaha is a definite target who we really want to sign could be this window or next but it will definitely happen.

14 Jan 2012 09:39:50
Hello Ed, what sort of price would we have to pay for moussa sow from Lille looks half decent quick and good in the air. Thanks keep up the good work {Ed002's Note - It would be guess work but perhaps 15M euros.}

14 Jan 2012 08:16:31
hI ed002, Any truth in Mohamed Diamme to Liverpool rumour.?? How do you rate him as a player? {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. I don't see Liverpool looking for a player in his position at this time.}

Good player - I recall him destroying Javier (possibly the most overrated player on earth) Mascherano just over a year ago, just before he did a Tevez and refused to play for us.

In fairness, he destroyed our entire midfield that day (as usual, the pundits on Sky - and therefore 85% of football fans, were oblivious to this, even though they were watching).

I've always kept an eye on him since.

He's an unfashionable option - but not many realise what a good player he is.

Ed002 may be right though. But i'd feel a lot more secure with another DM in the squad, we are wafer thin atm.

It's a debate as old as time, but Gerrard (although he does a good job there) is wasted sitting deep - our lack of cover will cost us. The transformation in the City game following Spearing's injury was clear for all to see.

Would have been great to have the option to throw on big Diame and let Stevie loose on them! Henderson cannot play DM - if you saw England U21's during the summer you'd know what I mean..... Adam in the DM role..... oh dear!

BJH YNWA.

14 Jan 2012 01:13:42
Liverpool are keen on bringing versatile Australian fullback Rhys Williams to anfield, either in this window or in the summer. he currently plays for Middlesbrough and can play all across the back line and even in midfield, have you heard anything about this eds?
YNWA! Australian red! {Ed005's Note - No.}

Dont beleive it - not good enough

I agree too, he wouldnt get played, just a rumor in the paper, thought i would post it. Australian Red.

14 Jan 2012 00:22:08
Ive just read on BBC that Jonjo Shelvey has gone back to Blackpool on loan. Does this mean we have a midfielder coming in? Any news eds? Great site BTW {Ed005's Note - For I start I don't know what BBC you are reading - with the injury to Lucas, and the injury to Spearing we have lack of options in the midfield so we would need to keep Shelvey in that case.}

14 Jan 2012 01:28:08
just heard the audio of the exchange between Gerrard and Mancini. GO ON STEVIE G!!!!!!

Why does Mancini shout out Frosties

Mankini doesn't have enough players, or enough money, and doesn't like other teams tackles and other teams encouraging the refs to give cards. Life's so tough. Poor guy. Someone give him a couple of hundred million and more decisions his way please - he is running out of excuses.

cozinoz

Just goes to prove what a hypocrite mancini really is !!

What website can u hear it on?

Just goes to show how the press over exaggerate and take the side of anyone who is playing against Liverpool. Stevie made a valid point in a non aggressive way and it has been blown up out of all proportion yet again! The only one who has shown himself up is Mancini by admitting he wanted to get Johnson sent off, Pathetic

Previous poster spot on. Stevie addressed him calmly and Mancini virtually admitted what he was trying to do.

What is mancini on about frosties for classic lol aahhh frosties

There a audio clip on you tube,
