Safe to say the Pjanic rumours won't materialise.
The roma owner has been quoted staying 'we have 4 years left with him but if somebody comes in with a stupid number you have to listen.

Now to me, that doesn't sound like Liverpool haha

Wasn't stupid numbers tu buy Carrollo for 35m, Johnson for 19m, Coates and Ilori for 7m each one, and perhaps markovic and Lallana for 20 ans 25m respectively, etc?? The problem not always is to overpay or not for some players, but to overpay for the wrong ones; something we are experts for.

lallana and Markovic are value for money imo. Illori could yet be.

I heard numbers around the 40mill mark for pjanic due to his contract length.

Never going to happen. we'll get delph at the most

If he was average at best and English then we would we would make a stupid bid.

All the best

£5 is a stupid offer, maybe that'll do.

Hi eds, heard from a very good source that Liverpool have put a bid in for Fabian Delph in the region of £7 million, I know it's not great news but this guy is almost always spot on with his info

Cheers

{Ed002's Note - Certainly Liverpool are one of the clubs that has looked at him. Thanks Henlow.}

Another 7m wasted if it's true.

Well if you're rights, Delph better step up to it for us or he'll make me look like a right mug :) Balotelli style!

Agree0 Disagree0

I kind of hope the board say no ins and no outs this January, BR will just waste what he's given.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have we not got enough cm players already, even if Lucas goes? A keepers is the absolute priority

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jan 2015 00:23:18
If Lucas goes be prepared to see BR go back to Allen and Gerrard in the middle and a relegation battle ensue.

Jaysus 7m seems a lot for an average player with only months left on his contract. Hope it ain't true.

hypothetically speaking, if we were to have a bid accepted by villa, given permission to speak to Delph, then withdrew offer and signed him on a free in the summer would this be tapping up?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It would be bad practice and the reputation of the club would be dragged down even further.}

This is the level of talent that we can attract, people who think the likes of Pjancic are going to want to sign for Liverpool are deluded.
We are looking unlikely to be in the Champions league next season, we don't pay high wages and we are under investigation for breaches of FFP!
Delph is probably the calibre of player we can attract at the minute, although I would hope that we wait till the summer and sign him on the free, although he will be able to negotiate a much higher wage because competition for his signature will be high.
I would think if we could get him for 3/4m now it would be worth it.
Also from what I have seen of him he is a good player, nothing more but worth a place in the liverpool squad, my mate is a season ticket holder at Villa and he says Delph and Benteke are head and shoulders above yherest.

15 Jan 2015 17:18:16
To be fair, saying Delph and Benteke are head and shoulders above the rest isn't saying a lot quite frankly.

Ed002, in your experience does this happen? (What ForzaRed suggested)

Thanks

Have we contacted Roma about Pjanic? cheers eds.

{Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure not.}

Have Liverpool looked at Fabain Schar of basel he is on a free in the summer pre contract now might not be bad??

Believable3 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - No. Schar is of interest to other but not Liverpool - who are overrun with CBs at the moment.}

14 Jan 2015 15:42:37
Come the summer, with Toure and Coates leaving and Ilori, Wisdom and Paez all probably moving on, I think LFC will be in the market for another CB.

If a new manager come sin, he might well want to look at and keep or replace one of the 3 senior CBs: Skrtel, Sakho and Lovren.

Hi Eds
I've read that the South American u20 tournament starts today. Are you aware of any players that might interest Liverpool or come to ?the EPL

thanks

Believable6 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - People have gotten very upset over South American youngsters being discussed in the past. As such we avoid such discussion. If you want to keep an eye on one player, Jaime Baez of Uruguay. Jaime Baez has an offer on the table from Ajax and he is a player that Liverpool first showed an interest in during 2012 - when there were several South American youngsters being tracked by the club. A work permit would be an issue but interest may still be there from Liverpool. Valencia and Palermo have also shown some interest this season.

He won't be moving to Liverpool and I am not certain he is at the tournament, but Lanzini of Argentina is a player that Caniggia pushed Liverpool to buy a couple of years ago - he has since moved to the Middle East - but certainly a player who will become well known.}

14 Jan 2015 15:44:21
Lanzini is in the Argentina squad.

Watch the Aruba game tonight, they have a few players we could probably afford right now.

Like the look of Jaime Baez on youtube. Almost impossible to gauge properly though.

14 Jan 2015 22:44:41
Jaime Baez has already been dubbed 'The new Luis Suarez' which just piles pressure on the kid and will probably hinder his development

Hi Eds,
few questions/

Just wanted to ask what your opinion of Origi returning is? Do you really think he will solve anything seeing as he is struggling for goals in that lille side or do you think its simply a case of him being in side with no service.

Also, do you think we'll let both Lambert and Enrique go to Palace?
I am assuming the Arbeloa rumors are as a result of this. He is being looked at as his replacement (Glen moving to LB and Arbeloa RB)
Dani.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - (a) Origi is very young and far from being ready for the EPL. (b) Lambert will not be going to Crystal Palace - just perhaps West Brom. Enrique perhaps. Arbeola is nothing to do with either.}

14 Jan 2015 12:50:48
Purely out of interest (and I'm sure you've noticed discussions on young players going on with Ed001) - would you consider bringing Origi back sooner rather than later as a way to get him EPL ready faster? Without factoring in fans with no patience

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of discussions with Ed001. I see little or no value in brining Origi back earlier than planned.}

14 Jan 2015 13:13:38
Enrique's needed to leave for quite some time. Unfortunate, because I liked him early in his career with us, but Johnson and Enrique both need to be moved on in the next year to two years. Origi could play in the BPL, but he's not going to trouble even Lambert and Borini for game time today and definitely not Sturridge or Sterling. He's far from the finished product, and may very well be worth what we've paid in a few years (or never, hard to tell). Can't see Lambert being sold unless its 3/4 what we paid SH.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jan 2015 15:20:41
If Origi is not good enough to trouble either Lambert os Borini for a place then why the hell did we sign him. He must be awful to be behind those 2 on current form and frankly I do not believe he is that bad.

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Jan 2015 17:17:52
Origi needs to work on his finishing primarily and also his agression in pressing. He is a fantastic prospect IMO. Strong, Fast, good dribbling ability, tall, can hold the ball up, good work rate to get into positions, and despite his poor return of goals actually has a decent shot. All the tools are there to be a top top striker. But he's not there yet. Time and patience is needed. He's a kid.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jan 2015 18:05:30
Origi at 10mil wasn't a bad buy, but paying another 4mil to get him back early is pointless on us and the player.

But knowing us we will get him back last day of the transfer window lol
