Last time is said VVD was done, I didn't know that Liverpool hadn't agreed a fee with Southampton, I am not that good .

Welcome back and thanks for your info Macca. Much appreciated and hope they will happen sooner rather than later. These players should strengthen our team significantly but the weight of their price tags will surely affect them or the team at some point. But it is what it is. I'd rather we have this problem than have to deal with sub standard signings.

Fantastic news! I think we can all agree that along with salah those three are going to add a hell of a lot of depth to our team, not to mention metal. A lot of people ate calling for us to sign a top striker but looking back at last season. goal scoring really wasn't the problem.
I do believe you need a 20+ guy if you want to win the league. in 1996! I've thought about this and that harks back to the days of playing 2 up front with one of those being an ariel threat while the other is fast and skillfull. (20+) our team looks very different know with 8/ 9 players who can play in our forward line and can reach double figures. Mani could easily have scored 20 without injury and international duty last term. If we sign these players I honestly think we have our biggest chance of winning prem yet. And with the general age of our squad we could reign supreme once again.

Great signings if they happen, I have many questions over the fees and such, but considering how crazy this transfer window has been I can accept that. After all, after Man City spent 50 million on an average Kyle Walker, I have no doubts fees will continue to soar to ridiculous lengths. This transfer window has been utterly ridiculous. Football has been taken over by money, I used to believe that youth development and patience had its place in Football, but those times are no more. A shame.

Keita, happy with this signing, although I'm wondering who will leave considering how many centre mid we already have at the club. We are overloaded with them.

Van Dijk, fingers crossed this turns out to be the big signing that we have needed in the centre of defence. He's a big lad, quick and is very comfortable on the ball. Issues with concentration, etc, but a definite upgrade on Lovren and possibly even Matip. Although, we now have three centre backs with suspect injury history (less so in Dijk's case) and Joe Gomez might very well be considering his options.

Robertson, stupid signing. He is suspect in every department, but Klopp clearly sees something in the lad, believes that are tools he can develop. Let's hope so, otherwise, it will be another season of Milner (I love the guy for his work ethic and willingness to play out of position) cutting onto his right foot when a left footed cross is the preferred option.

True, scoring goals wasn't a problem. Sturridge if miraculously stays fit will score 20 goals in a season. But whether he stays fit is another thing altogether . If we do get those 3 signings I for one would be extremely pleased with our transfer window. More pace, a proper left back, a proven, quality centre back and potentially a beast of a midfielder on a cheeky let's get him
now whatever the cost before someone else buys him. And let's not forget Solanke could prove to be an absolute bargain striker. Looked good against Tranmere. YNWA.

Also said Keita will be £67m in total not sure about addons and will be confirmed next thursday or friday. Hope its true what i got told. Fair enough ed1. I don't know how clubs are run and the nature of the size of squads. I just remember ed saying if we want to sign players then others have to leave. Before salah signed I think someone said we can add two players before we have to sell. Hence me thinking we can only have so many players in our squad. As it stands today, can we sign all four without letting others go now? How many players do we need to sell?

{Ed001's Note - we just have to leave players out of the squad, but it does mean that they would then be difficult to sell for any kind of reasonable price. I know of a couple of sports lawyers that have been consulted when a player has been left out of a team's squad, due to the club being in breach of contract and the player believing that would make it possible to have the contracts ripped up. As far as I know no one has actually tested out the theory yet, but it is not a good idea to put players into a position where they will be unhappy anyway.}

Thanks ed, very insightful. I suppose the down side of having a large squad of senior players is that the youngsters can suffer. Not making squad often. Some fans will complain that our young talent aren't getting enough games and at the same time blast the manager for not bringing in x number of "top players"

Best of luck to Lucas. Been a fantastic servant to the club and I'm glad LFC gave him a chance to move on to play regular first team football. No doubt he will push Lazio on and be a more than an adequate replacement for Biglia.
No doubt it will be weird for not only the players but also the fans not to see Lucas in the match day squad. Hopefully someone in the team steps up and plays the role of mentor for new incoming South Americans to the club.

Lucas has been a tremendous serving to the club. Under rated and never once gave less than 110%. One of those players who quietly and effectively did his job. Nice bloke too. Hope he has a great time in Rome.

Really going to miss Lucas. When Rafa first signed him, I'll admit I couldn't see how he was a Liverpool player. Proved me wrong time and again. He came into his own when Masch left and showed that, playing in that formation that Rafa preferred, he was a match for Masch.

His later transition into a competent CB shows the versatility of the player. Remember, when he came to us he was an ACM in the Couts mold.

I wish him all the best and want to thank him for living and breathing the values of our beloved club.

As an aside, I do believe that means that another CM, who I won't bother naming, has signed for us or is about to.

Only thing I hope is that Liverpool gave him the option to join any club he wanted even if it meant a lesser fee, I think he's earned that right.
Lazio will be a good move for him competing at a good level and I think he will do rather well in Italy!

Note : The player is bothered and wants the move . Even willing to lose a loyalty bonus to make it happen . He is also with agent due a second meeting to request the move can made . True the club don't want to sell but this one is not just about the money although €65 million won't quite do it . still lots to do but this transfer has started to become more positive for LFC.

What we need to concentrate on doing is unearthing these little gems before they become so valuable. time and time again a club buys a player for peanuts then 2 seasons later we pay massive amounts. obviously the 8.5 million layout on coutinho will reap massive profit if we sell but if u look through most of the rest of the team I'm sure they were available for a lot less previously.

Said it from the off, the deal won't happen. RBL are been stubourn, we are also Stubborn we won't be paying too much for him and at the moment the price to land him looks like it could become a rediculous one. We won't pay it. The past few weeks even discussing it, in my opinion is pointless.

I'd like to see him sign don't get me wrong but we have to be realistic.
