Samed Yesil among the squad for the trip to Sunderland.

RedTongue

Hes going have bright future look like see dani pacheco get another chance

Suso is in aswell

Where did you guys read this ?

I would hand a 20 min run out for yesil if borini does not have a good game

LFC Now - cant find any confirmation of this online though

Where did you get this from?

Lil Red

He's playing for the u21s tonight so I would doubt it.

Hes playing for u21's tonight, team just announced on lfctv,Simonpw

Yesil is currently playing for the U21s vs Chelsea. Go figure.
DAni

Yesil playing in the under 21 game. Anyone know if Assaidi is in the squad, looking forward to seeing him play.

Suso is, jose enrique has tweeted a picture, yesil is playin for the ressies now

Yesil is playing for u21 tonight. So he is not in tomorrows squad but suso is in the last 20 that is cut to18.

Mighty reds

Hes in the u21 squad not the seniors, don't believe this clown.

Suso is playing tomorra

That's funny he's playing for the under 21s in London right now

I would sooner have Michael Ngoo in there

He missed like 3 sitters tonight lol, should fit in well with suarez and the others who cant hit a barn door :/

No he isn't how do you know

Doubt it just played for the under21 team

Apologies, a really poor miss-communication between myself and my source.

Very sorry, couldn't of had a worse 1st post.

RedTongue

P.S, for those saying Suso is playing tomorrow, he is only in the provisional 20. He may not make it onto the bench. This isn't source information, this is just backed up by Suso on Twitter.

It's good to get the kids involved but it has to be the right game. He might appear on the bench a few times until the right opportunity comes along. Having said that, I wouldn't want you to think I'm any less excited by this prospect than you lot. I think this lad is a really shrewd acquisition.

Barca are lining up a double swoop on liverpool,for agger and reina,barca are desperate for a new keeper to provide competion for valdes,and a ball playing central defender.They are willing to offer christiann tello as part of any deal,as well as cash.This offer will be seriously considered by brendan rodgers,who has lost all faith in pepe reina.

If this is true and we can get Dede Silva & ter stegen as their replacements i would be happy..though I'm sure Agger would stay..
I don't agree with Reina not getting enough competition and all as the cause of his drop in form coz Iker casillas has two young goalkeepers miles behind him as his back up..yet he performs week in week out..and we have a brazilian and an australian international..maybe he desperately wants xavi valero back or wants to leave..

So pepe reina would move to barca to be 2nd choice keeper, i dont think so, and if rodgers had lost all faith in him then he wouldnt still be our number1 you plank

30m & Tello=YES PLEASE
But this well never happen, totally unrealistic- though I agree with ^this guy^ Dede and Ter Stegen would certainly be good buys definetely Ter Stegen. Them two would probably cost around 9/10m each- I would rather have Ter Stegen, Dede, Tello and 10m than Reina and Agger- as much as I like them two, especially Dagger.

RedKopite

If so then it would have to be £26m plus Tello

we would be willing to take £15m for Reina and £18m for Agger which is £33m take away £7m for Tello = £26m

Reina has been garbage for two years. Get rid and get Vorm in.

Cannot see Reina moving to become a number 2 and doubt Rodgers has lost faith in him. There is no doubt Reina has been poor lately but you do not become a bad keeper overnight. Yes Rodgers may drop him if his form doesn't improve to give him a jolt to step up but that's about all.

is assaidi fit and ready for contention for tomorrow's squad even if just a late sub? cheers eds - legends
RobRed {Ed001's Note - he had what we normally call a hernia, difficult to say when he will be ready, every hernia is different. Usually though it requires surgery to fix, so a couple of months is needed to be back.}

He's had it since the summer and was seen in pre-Sunderland training so i'm assuming he'll be back very soon. {Ed002's Note - He has Gilmores Groin which if I recall is what Gerrard suffered from.}

Gilmore's Groin surgery has a 97% success rate. The way our luck has been running I hope Assaidi doesn't fall into the 3% of failures!

nuclearboy

So we signed a unfit player bad bussines in the market this year

Yet another example of insanity in the transfer market. Just like Carroll we have bought an injured player who will never get up to speed during this season and will sink into the Anfield mire of despair that so readily engulfs our new signings. Any chance of buying someone with two working legs in zjanuary? {Ed002's Note - He was certainly training with Liverpool so he was not injured when he arrived.}

He was in training yesterday. Are you guys sure about his injury being that serious?

ChinUp {Ed002's Note - I only know of the statements from his national side (which spoke of a thigh injury on September 6) and from the club (which spoke of a Gilmore Groin assessment) - and that was Tuesday September 11. Since then I have not seen or heard anything of it.}

Liverpool owner John Henry has denied suggestions that he plans to sell the Boston Red Sox for £600m to concentrate on funding the Premier League club.
Full story: Boston Globe

from bbc

John Henry and fsg are baseball MAD!! They live and breathe baseball so please stop spreading crap rumours...
LondonRed

The boston red sox are worth 1.2 billion, why would he sell for half its value? {Ed002's Note - You are mixing currencies.}

Would be nice tho!

I've been hearing drogba close to been a lfc player how true it is I dunno can anyone of the eds shed a bit of light on the subject thanks JON96 {Ed002's Note - Drogba remains contracted to Shanghai Shenhua at this time.}

Surely after the magnificent week we have had as a city and football club, we can rise above wanting to sign cheats like Drogba, we are LFC.
Cad

Why do people even bother entertaining this silly stories... Drogba is on too much money!

We will not sign anyone untill January and I suspect we might not even sign anyone then.

Sinister Red

Ed002 this is not liverpool related but is it true Arsenal were looking at Drogba ?
I mean they can't afford 150K salary how on earth were they planning to give him around 250K. {Ed002's Note - I don't see how he could be a viable option for them. There had been interest shown by a couple of Russian sides and an interesting option in the United States.}

In response to 'Cad', If Droga's a cheat, what is Suarez? Not being funny mate but you can't have it both ways. Personally, I'd take Drogba any day. We need goals. Plain and simple.

Not really a rumour, but can I just ask why people want the likes of Drogba, or Llorente at the club. I know they are both excellent players, but even Llorente is getting on. We are bulding a young team, capable of sustaining competitive football. We shouldn't be bringing in players who will only help us compete for 2/3 years. If Llorente came I would be right behind him, because he is an excellent player, but there are younger talents capable of becoming important players, that can play for many years. Also, we have a good academy now, so let's concentrate on bringing those through. We won't get any more Gerrard's, Carra's, Fowler's or Owen's by buying older players. Let Suso, Morgan, Yesil, Coady, Wisdom etc get some games.

Sometimes you need a balance between youth and experience. Even arsenal/barca are sometimes forced to do this to plug the gaps. That's why I'm pissed off that we didn't get get Dempsey. The owners will learn I guess.

redkenyan

Because we need somone that can score!

Mate we can't win with kids we need little bit of experience and bit class players if not world class or else will be like Arsenal forced to sell players who have be come stars eg Nasri or Fabrigas

We need to make sure we get the balance right. If we got three years from Llorente, as an example only, and Borini then has three years to continue learning from him and is still only 24-25. And Morgan and Yesil have three years of experience, and are only 21-22. And they have learnt from Llorente and Suarez. It makes some sense. I am not suggesting this is the way to go but I can see some sese.

Andy K

Redkenyan - I agree, although I feel we already do have a lot of experience in the squad. Looking at our starting 11, it's only really Allen, Borini and Sterling that don't have much experience. Even on the bench/reserves we have Cole, Downing, Carra etc.

Anon - Again, understood, however how are we to know that Morgan and Yesil for example aren't going to score goals if we don't play them? Morgan has been prolific for the reserves so deserves a chance, and Yesil certainly looks like he knows where the goal is.

Drogba would be a great addition to any Premier League team. Still a tower of strength and a threat to most top class defenders.

Hopefully we get the Arabs to buy us!!
Money buys success look at Man City....

1) Llorente is only 27
2) He is class

No more needs to be said!

27 is getting on?

I thought that was prime form?

plus he will have resale value at age 30 of around £15m to Italian or Spanish teams.

And yet arsenal still finish ahead of liverpool every season.obviously liverpools players jus arnt good enough seeing as no big clubs have bought them over the years

I agree to an extent mate but what these youngsters need is senior players to guide them when things aren't going their way, for example wisdom has carra/agger to support him, our troubles are the other end of the pitch. If Morgan has some sort of difficulties on the pitch he hardly has any similar senior players to go to. January window will decide our ambitions, goal getter has to be no1 priority

Just suppose we got Llorente, that would mean Morgan and Yesil would drop to 4th and 5th choice, ultimately resulting in very little playing time. We have Llorente for the next 3 years, and then sell him. Now we have 2 strikers (Morgan and Yesil) who will need to step up to fill the void, and they still wouldn;t have played many games for Liverpool.

I really don't see the problem with using this season to get used to BR's system, and let's see if our young players can flourish. Look at Sterling, 17 years old, and everyone is raving about him. If we had brought another winger like people wanted (say Walcott), would Raheem be playing? I doubt it. Give our young lads a chance, then come next season, if they haven't got what it takes, then we can consider alternate approaches to getting back to where we belong.

YNWA

Muzzafan

Don't know why you think 4th and 5th strikers won't get enough playing time in a squad that plays a front 3.

Dodge

The idea is that we need an experienced striker. Drogba is too old now to consider as a long term option. Llorente at 27 years old is not, however we have a younger version of him in Carroll. I would prefer Alvaro Negredo, also 27 years old.

Dodge - I wasn't including the wingers really. Although

Consider these 2 words, Gary McAllister
