Hi Ed's and Reds.

As you know I very rarely post "rumours" however I've heard from my source at Swansea that us, along with a number of Prem clubs have been closely watching Ollie Watkins of Brentford. Now I know we watch loads of players all the time, so I'm not saying there is concrete interest, but I'm wondering if any of the Ed's had heard his name mentioned in relation to us scouting him? And if he is any good?

Cheers.

Ok thanks Ed.

Hi Eds, just curious whether there has being any indication that Liverpool would target additional wide players in the summer to compete with Manè and Salah (cover injuries/ strength in depth) or considering how well Harry Wilson has being doing at Hull will Jurgen give him a chance to impress rather than sign another winger?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - A couple of players who the club has shown an interest in are able to play wide. I would rather doubt you will see much of Wilson next year.}

15 Apr 2018 13:27:42
What's the plan with Wilson? Another loan?

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any plan at this time. I appreciate reports are good and he is doing well but it is hard to see how he would fit in to the first team plans for next season given he has zero relevant experience and has been playing in the Championship and PL2.}

15 Apr 2018 15:17:08
Maybe a loan to a premier league team?

Ed002, I read your reports on our most linked midfield options and below it you said to give you a break because people keep asking about attacking options. Just wondering. have you had enough of a break now, that we can ask for your list of our attacking options?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you mean by "most linked". As for more attacking players I don't think anything has changed.}

We should see if Klopp's pal at Huddlesfield will take Wilson on loan next year and give him regular playing time.

Hi Eds,

Had a browse back of earlier posts. I know you've mentioned we'll potentially look at a right back this summer, I wondered if you had picked up any potential names recently? Thanks for your hard work.

{Ed001's Note - no mate, no one new sorry.}

Has Trent not come on enough for Klopp to trust as his first choice next year Ed001?

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is more that both Gomez and Trent are not expected to have a long term future at full back.}

15 Apr 2018 12:22:01
Trent is so young, will he not have another 2/ 3 years at full back before moving forward? He gets great experience there.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - he still is not going to play every game, and Clyne is unwanted, so another right back is needed.}

15 Apr 2018 12:39:47
I like Clyne, but is inconsistent. Where do you think Trent will end up playing in the long term Ed?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - he is expected to end up in midfield.}

15 Apr 2018 15:03:33
Thanks Ed001.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

15 Apr 2018 16:00:50
I get that ed, but can't Gomez rotate right back and centre back? Who can we buy that will be good enough, and happy enough To be second choice to Trent for now?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he would be pushing for first choice, allowing Trent to rotate there and in midfield and Gomez to rotate there and centre back.}

15 Apr 2018 18:50:04
In my opinion, Ed01, I would keep him at right back long term. Agreed that this season is the first I've seen him week in week out and didn't followed his development prior to this season, but if we get another RB, I would hope it's because Clyne is leaving.

So ed001 with can leaving and Keita coming another expected

How do you think he will play midfield just interest to how ya think it'll work out.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - same as this season, one deep two up.}

Very interesting that people see his qualities in midfield, ed1. Thanks.
Do you have any inclination of what type of midfield role Trent is expected by the club to play. or in your opinion where his attributes would see him suited?

I. e. the deeper “6” type role or a more box to box role with more attacking license type role.
Appreciate this is asking for a crystal ball in some respect and players can adapt to many roles but it would be interesting to hear your thoughts.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - more of a box to box type role as he has pace and energy to get up and down.}

16 Apr 2018 07:26:47
Trent playing right back short term is perfect for gaining experience for the box to box midfielder . Didn't Gerrard start at right back under houllier?

I susupect a fullback in the Robbo type of deal would do,1 who is looking to push for 1st team but also looking to put in the shift of learning instead of sulking,

definitely a box to box type. when he first started coming on fir the first team as a sub and in some age group games he played in midfield and looked very much like a player hungry to get forward, get stuck into tackles etc perfect attitude and engine for a box to box type especially in our system.

But I could see him playing more regularly at RB for another season or two. I struggle to see how rotating in and out of RB to CM will be helpful to him at this early stage unless he is going to be so influential as a CM that he ousts one of the incumbents there. I'd like to see him continue as a RB next season as the oreferred first choice, develop his experieence and reading of the game etc. it's a great position to learn from.

Hey eds and reds

Seen a name mentioned for our midfield that never heard of before

Bruno Fernandes of sporting Lisbon
Looks very silky on the ball
Heard anything on this player eds

Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest from Liverpool but the €100M asking price put off another PL side who enquired.}

lol, gosh, knowing us and the way we handle such. We probably will be asked to pay twice that.

Seen this morning that Stevie Gerrard's cousin Bobby Duncan is to join Liverpool after his contract dispute with Man City. To be honest didn't think that we could sign youth players in England due to our transfer ban at that level. Is it a case of because he hasn't signed pro terms he'll be a free agent and a set £200k compensation will be due to City?

15 Apr 2018 10:49:27
He’s 17 in June so I think we can sign him on pro terms.

15 Apr 2018 10:50:01
That’s why are waiting until the summer when he will be 17 and, as long as we have met our obligations, the ban will be lifted.

This lad looks the real deal so far from what I’ve seen, could be a very good signing if his progress continues.
