Liverpool been linked with Santi Cazorla. Certainly better than anything we have on the wing now, although I have my reservations.

Almeria have a great young player that we should be looking at if nesv stick with buying young and that's pablo piatti he is a class act but we might want to hurry if interested as barca and madrid are very keen.
what ye think ed?

kdkop {ed's note - we have been linked with him and he is having a great season so far, but it would be pointless buying him with Roy in charge. He needs to be playing first team football not reserves.}

Does ed or anyine else know about the progress of Raheem Sterling? He was meant to be a brilliant winger, and seemed very good at carra's game. has something happened to him or can he provide the width we need?

Still learning his game with Rudolfo in accademy he's a bit young and not ready yet, He's not even regular for ressies, give him time maybe, 3-4 yrs yet

UCCM {ed's note - isn't he only just 16?}

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

yeah 3-4 years until he breaks into the squad, he's only 16. scored today for the reserves though in the FA youth cup match against Notts County. Ngoo had 2 and Adorjan had 1 as well

Ive noticed that theres no longer any transfer gossip on the official Liverpool website. Is this part of NESV's cloak and dagger approach to the subject Ed? {ed's note - no I think it is more about stopping journos trying to con people into thinking it must be true because it is on the offal.}

Transfer gossip is now under 'Media Watch' on the web site.

Hi ed, i believe that you are either thinking of diego capel, jordia alba or diego perotti?
DK15 {ed's note - yeah it is Perotti, I know, I know, he's Argentinian, the commentator on Sky must have made a mistake calling him Italian.}

()()

I can't even think what team he plays for yet I have seen them play almost every weekend of the season! Hopefully someone can help me out and remind me of his name?}

there are Osvaldo , Guarente and rossi of italian nationality in la liga? any of these ed? {ed's note - no he is a young left winger who is mostly right footed, I think it begins with a P. Rossi is a good shout though - excellent player that lad.}

Ed, are you sure your not thinking of Perotti? {ed's note - yeah someone just called him, my mistake, that is twice now in 2 days I have been caught out by believing Sky! I will have to start double-checking what they say in future.}

If Bently came to lfc he would just disrupt the squad as he is an a$$hole that's why harry doesn't want him! do you agree ed?

Ed? I thought Torres was starting tonight, do you know anything, as to why he is not? {ed's note - only that Roy says it was down to fitness people.}

()()

15 Dec 2010 19:38:24
Pls post in rumours.

Surely Roy must be going!

"The fitness people made me see sense!" He just gave that as a reason for not playing Torres (which he shouldn't anyway).

How can you have a manager who can't stand by his own convictions - if that's true NESV will have to get rid because it shows how weak he is. If not true, means Torres refused to play - Torres is a gonner if Roy stays no doubt about it!

Roy out Kenny in by Jan!

Think i know who you are talking about ed, Diego Perotti. Plays for Sevilla. Sounds Italian, but really is argentine. Good player but. kk {ed's note - that's the lad, they called him Italian on Sky in one commentary, did they get it wrong then?}

rossi a good shout but being a manchester united player will he sign for us is we try for him.

and secondly Portillo.(is he the player you looking for). {ed's note - I can't remember, I will have to go through the Spanish squad listings and see. Rossi would have no problems joining us, but United have a buyback clause, that would be the major problem.}

"Hi ed, im going to start a conspirency theory tonight, i know it may sound stupid but do you think hodgson is deliberately going to play el nino in the hope he gets injured, firstly i don't think it is anything to do with match fitness, secondly he is not playing with his heart but don't think roy has the bottle to drop him for ngog and babel, it would save roys face if he says i can't play torres in league games now hes injured and would make a good excuse for him if we lose the next few games by saying well we did have torres out injured, just a thought, but having said that it just announced on talksport he is not in the starting lineup and won't play him so he won't be cuptied when they sell him in january?"
- - -
To the poster of the above the bit "he is not in the starting lineup and won't play him so he won't be cuptied when they sell him in january" is that what talksport said, or its another sublime theory of yours to match the "Roy want Torres injured" theory? ?

With 2/ 3 quality additions to our squad in the January transfer window, added to a change in management at the end of the season along with another 3/ 4 quality additions (and the hope that key players stay) then next season we should aim to get back into the CL. If successful, then we can just build from there and try to get back to the top where we belong.

This is in regards to piatti, I live in florida and im a die hard lfc supporter. When I was 18, im 21 now, I moved to argentina to play at estudiantes for a short time. I was with the 19s and reserve team. But anyways I was always able to watch the first team training sessions and piatti is a top quality player, this was 3 years ago so he moved to la liga right after I came home to the states. He has got a great left foot, pacy and despite hi's diminutive size he is very very strong, his arms were like a rock. He cud definitely be a surprise signing, plus he has real potential. But im sure hes not a target

i think mata should be our top target in january or the summer because he is quality! i did a little bit of searching for the italian guy there, by any chance does he play for sevilla? i don't have any sources but i think that the honda deal is all but confirmed because i think he is desperate to come too us and he fits NESV's policy perfectly.

The Metro says that Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs are in for Tevez and that he could stay in England possibly if one of the clubs come in for him. Apparantly he was very happy in London when at West Ham, and his family liked London.

And in regards to Liverpool, Mascherano told him it was great and the atmosphere and fans were excellent.

We won't get him though.

in what capacity? youth team? i wud think any young lad wud bust a nut if the great one himself was coachin ya

Ed i love this site and this is my first time posting on it, do you think that if by some miracle we got llorente, david bentley would be a good cheap buy because at the minute we don't have any proper wide players that can cross the ball for him too score a few headers(which is his strength)?

NI RED {ed's note - no I don't think he would be a good buy, he has a very poor attitude and is, quite simply, not good enough.}

Fair enough, who would would be on the top of your wishlist for a good young winger (if your don't count anyone in our youth system) then because it is a serious problem for our team at the minute?

Who do you think we will buy in january ed?
are the rumours true about ronaldinho, bentley, suarez and honda? all would be good signings!
I would get rid of torres! hate him doesn't want to be at the club and is acting like a spoilt child he just walks around the field not bothered one bit and he is awful i believe he has lost his talent! 40 million from him and buy two good strikers and use the owners money to buy wingers! {ed's note - I am of the opinion that January will be fairly quiet and we are not likely to do much, a striker and a winger will be the most likely players to join the club. But it is a difficult thing to know with signings being by committee. I am worried he will suffer the same problems Forest have with their transfer panel. It needs to have one man making the final decision or nothing will actually get done.}

Didn't they just get a new sponsor ship deal worth £125 million over 5 years? Also they will sell ibrahimovic in one of the transfer windows. Not saying I won't it to happen but it may be within thier recourses to do so

Doubt that's going to happen im not sure how AC milan would feel about barca selling their top striker, idiot {ed's note - he is only on loan to AC Milan, perhaps you should refrain from calling others idiots in future, it only makes you look stupid.}

Would it have been so hard to google it before deciding that I'm an idiot?

I can't see us signing llorente only because of his price tag but, i can see us signing honda. Also a few other names are going round like rami and fanni, i don't see them coming in the january transfer window, may be one of them.
this would probably be my team after january:

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Konchesky (it would be Insua if he wasnt out on loan)
Kuyt Lucas (would have Aqualani instead of lucas becuase him and meireles would be great together) Meireles Honda
Gerrard Torres

I didn't include Fanni and Rami in there because i don't think they would come in yhe january transfer window. Further more players such as Shelvey, Pacheco and Wilson can break into the first team sooner rather than later, and hopefuly players like Suso and Mavinga can be first teamers one day because i have seen these two play and they are amazing!

Hope this does not happen.
The boy could have a similiar impact at LFC as Torres had in his debut season.
Torres and Suarez could potentially be best strike partnership to ever grace the premier league.
If Suarez does join LFC then all LFC will need are two quality wingers.

Gerard pique in liverpool airport this morning waiting for his flight back to barcelona.asked him what he was doing in liverpool but all he said "sorry can't tell you that"
he was very pleasant and chatted about footy in general for a couple of minutes and did a couple of photos for staff.
has he been visiting torres and the new baby or can we read something in to it.

Assuming you are speaking the truth then Pique would have either been A. In the departures area, or B. Lining up at the check-in. If that's the case, can we all assume you are now in Barcelona? That's the only way you would have got to see him.

Regarding all the rumours of a 3month clause in Roy's contract to allow a cheaper payoff for the new owners:
there was lots of talk in October about a 30-day clause of this type, and I half-remember something being said in an interview about it, but I can tbe sure any more.
I must admit though, I have no memory at all about a 3 month clause- what's the source for this? {ed's note - it was Christian Purslow that said there was a 30 day clause, I can't trace anything about a 3 month one myself though.}

ED - what are our chances of buyin fabio coentrao just been reasearching him hes a solid class left back and caused us real problems in the europa league last season
NESV say there looking at young english talents i think the top players are
phil jones - b-burn
adam hammil - barnsly
connor wickham- ipswich
josh mceachran - chelsea
cieran clark - ast villa
jason steele - borough
imagine this squad of younsters coming through

Where is Suso, Sterling, Wisdom, Coady, Amoo etc who are all potential talents and already with our club?

Torres will join Barca in the summer. They have just signed the biggest shirt sponsorship deal ever and will have the £40 million required to buy him. They might even bid for Reina as well.
Talk of Piennar coming to Liverpool is rubbish. He has been on Merseyside long enough to know the storm this would create. Supporting a club years ago means nothing. He will join Spurs in January in exchange for Kranjcar.torres left atletico BECAUSE OF BARCA when they smashed them he realised his beloved atletico where so far behind. there is 1 club he will be at next season, LIVERPOOL FC. HIS NEW BELOVED CLUB.

which lbs are you talking about ED who would you personally taret {ed's note - Taiwo for starters, there are two others I was given on a list of expiring contracts as well, I can't think who they were though. It would be Taiwo I would go for myself, he has a fair few years left in him, is strong and pacy, so should fit in the Prem, his wages are not ridiculously high but he is not so young that he would stop Robinson's progress.}

If we got banega what would we do with Lucas?

banega, personally better player, who wd alternate wiv meireles and maybe one day replace gerrard.
Lucas, who has been brilliant this season, wd be on the bench too, alternating, maybe form a partership wiv meireles and banega so those 3 wd be very strong. Poulsen, good as gone. :D

lineup (perhaps wivout stevie)

- - reina- -
fanni- agger- mexes- contrao
- - meireles- lucas- banega-
- - honda- llorente- surez

I Know Banega is highly rated but from the last two premier league games he has been awful and not fit to lace Lucas's boots
cad

Mate you should've looked at a calender before responding. . To put it in the simplest way possible:
16 Oct - 16 Nov = 1 month
16 Nov - 16 Dec = 1 month
16 Dec - 16 Jan = 1 month
1 + 1 + 1 = 3. .

Doubt that's going to happen im not sure how AC milan would feel about barca selling their top striker, idiot {ed's note - he is only on loan to AC Milan, perhaps you should refrain from calling others idiots in future, it only makes you look stupid.}

ED - what are our chances of buyin fabio coentrao just been reasearching him hes a solid class left back and caused us real problems in the europa league last season
NESV say there looking at young english talents i think the top players are
phil jones - b-burn
adam hammil - barnsly
connor wickham- ipswich
josh mceachran - chelsea
cieran clark - ast villa
jason steele - borough
imagine this squad of younsters coming through

now i think we need to go out for mata and take advantage of valencias financial difficulty this guy is class and would be brilliant on the left for us plus hes young so if we could tie him down for along time then he would only get better

banega, personally better player, who wd alternate wiv meireles and maybe one day replace gerrard.
Lucas, who has been brilliant this season, wd be on the bench too, alternating, maybe form a partership wiv meireles and banega so those 3 wd be very strong. Poulsen, good as gone. :D

"{ed's note - Reina would not be a secondary keeper, Valdes is the weakest link in the Barca side, Reina would be a replacement if they bid for him.}"

Sorry ed, i have to disagree with you. Whilst i agree to some extent with your assessment of the skills of both (personally i think Reina should be Spain's number 1), i think you are underestimating just how integral to the squad mechanic Valdes is. He wouldn't be shunted aside so easily, even for an ex-Barca Spanish lad like Pepe. It's not just about performances but how the fans and the rest of the squad view the players and Valdes has made records for Barca. Like Carra, he's not one who could be simply excised for a better option without there being some unrest and given Guardiola no longer has complete control of transfers and the new President's calls for prudence i can't see them making a big money move for a player who isn't strictly necessary. {ed's note - it really doesn't matter about any of that, the only thing that matters is if Pep would pick Reina over Valdes. Let's be clear, he would, and the fans would love Pepe, he is one of them.}

Let me tell you this. The reason Torres left Spain was because of Barcelona, they smashed Atlético and Torres realised how far behind his beloved Atletis were.
He will join Spurs in January in exchange for Kranjcar.

Harry J"

(1) Torres is worth more to us than £40 simply because of merchandising. He would not be worth a greater amount to Barca as they already have numerous superstars in their team so there may be a shortfall in valuations. Also consider Fabregas remains their primary target and he will likely cost a similar amount.
(2) Why on earth would they bid for an extremely high priced secondary keeper? It makes no sense and i'm afraid smacks of either pessimism or fishing on your part.
(3) Why would Pienaar care about a "storm"? Barmby, Tevez etc didn't so it's hardly a deal-breaker (though i'll concede he'll still likely end up at Spurs). {ed's note - Reina would not be a secondary keeper, Valdes is the weakest link in the Barca side, Reina would be a replacement if they bid for him.}

I know it not a liverpool rumour as such but i just wanted to make a point at how amateur jounos are. While not even lookin at the profiles of the player. Its just as bad as the torres wants/ will to join realmadrid rumours. Which appeared last year. Some days i think i should of been a jounalist. Mornin lads,
Just watched the interviews with owners they didn't give much away. Just a few points is that I don't think Roy is right for us but he won't be shafted until the board is finalised. Also if they do shaft him they need to take sammy, mike Kelly etc. , ,
I'm also just watching revista de la liga and piatti wat a goal. I've watched a bit of this guy and he would be a good signing.i think 3 players will come in jan, but god knows who.
I also would like hiddink as manager I think he's the man for us I've went through the net like mad and it's him I would push for.I know he doesn't want day to day job again but we should push for him.
Ed also kun aguero has signed a new deal but he has negotiated to drastically reduce his asking fee. He's wat I asked Santa for Xmas hopefully it's the start of it to encourage teams to buy him.
And finally " the owl" aka woy the boy hodgson has finally done something I've been crying out for all season. Playin Torres tonight he should have started as much of these to build up for and fitness .

Groundshare

Time to grow up lads and lady's a groundshare is what we need a massive 80,000 seater ground in Liverpool we could do what they do in Germany for the Allianz Arena one massive white stadium with red or blue lights
for whoever is playing at home as much as it pains me to say if it wasn't for the shower of blue s* * e their would be no Anfield so lets all grow up and have something for this city to be proud of we have the planning for Stanley park and half the money everton have the other half plus if money's interview with the owners are to believed then we have 50,000+ waiting for season tickets so it will pay for itself just think of the roar and the feeling coming out onto the pitch at Stanley park with 80,000 screaming liverpool fans bring down the house and theirs other advantages to this to if we get sell out crowds then the revenue brought in will go on players and go to the club just like at arsenal so common lets become a superpower in football stadium+players=cups

ramy the red {ed's note - Everton can't even afford a 10th, let alone a half, it is a no go mate, it would not work. They can't fill 80k seats, they can't fill Goodison!}

I strongly believe we should go all out for Ever Banega of Valencia his name is often thrown around in rumours. But his passing ability is excellent and this is something we need ever since xabi left which was a huge blow.

Banega makes things happen from central mid a was key for valencia last season, howver he seems to be benched this season for some reason (ed know why?) good for us because it means he will want to move for first team football. {ed's note - he fell out with Unai Emery, he started the season in the team and they were top of La Liga, he picked up a knock and they dropped down the table. Now he is fit and Emery won't play him.}
