Confirmed to me from an ex player - still living in Liverpool - that Charlie Adam has been signed and will be in Liverpool Monday evening for medical.
He said that there is 2 other players lined up - but one deal is on the ropes ( seems to be Honda by the hints given ) do not know other player he is staying tight lipped as deal is not completed like Adam's. . .

{editor: It could be, I am not sure.}

ian holloway has told press he will not be selling him to aston villa, but has told adam where he thinks hes good enough to go, he don't think aston villas the right club for him maybe he thinks liverpool is cos he knows things will change here and get better, he also is a big fan of liverpool and kenny he sauid on tv he was so i think we would have a great chance at gettinghim what u reckon ed? {ed's note - the problem is the Oystons, not Holloway.}

They do own NESN but its not like NESN is some sort of official news outlet for them. NESN is no different from other sports news sources. For instance when it comes to the Red Sox NESN doesn't always break stories first or even always have stories right. Basically if some reporter for NESN decided to post a story about Suarez there is no way in hell that any official from NESV would say "you can't post that up because its not true." He would just be allowed to report the story just like if he worked for any other news outlet.

surely nesv would tell them not too, knowing it puts their reputation on the line by telling false stories? ? {ed's note - it makes no difference to NESV, they aren't putting their rep on the line with that.}

A. Negredo left on the bench for tonights game. Read into that what you will? There have been roumors flying around about this lad and I think he would be perfect for the reds up front with Torres.

he always is! fabiano and kanoute start for sevilla negredo is an impact sub! which is why hes been linked to liverpool because he wants more football.

Liverpool looking at cavani from Napoli for 17 m, I watch napoli alot and he is the next big star, work rate is emmense work rate, also kk is obviously looking at Honda and turan but expect a cheeky bid for diego.( do u think they can make an impact Ed? Wat do u think of cavani?) Wiltshire red {ed's note - I don't really watch Italian football, the level is so poor these days that it is not worth bothering with most of the time. So I haven't really seen a lot of Cavani, but when I do he just looks like a poor man's Tevez.}

Interesting to note that after Suarez and Emanuelson were linked with a move to LFC, Emauelson's agent instantly "played down" the rumour but there has been a deafening silence from the Suarez camp. Doesn't mean that he's going to coming to us, but then again. .

Anyway, would love to have Charlie Adam to boost the Scottish contingent, as there has always been a great link between Scotland and Liverpool FC, from the earliest days of the team of Macs to Bill Shankly's teams (Lawrence, Yeats, St.John), and of course the classic days of Dalglish, Souness (the player) and Hansen. We even started winning under Houllier once Gary Mac joined! So Dalglish, Wilson, Adam. .maybe our luck's about to turn.

No attempt at fact there lads, just a rumour.

Ok Ed cards on the table you must have a clue who we are likely to buy My gut feeling only tells me Warnock, Honda, Adams, outsider Suarez. Come on Ed what do you reaaly think.

Royzered {ed's note - I am not expecting that much, I think Honda is seen as the fall back option for if other players aren't available or unwilling to join us. I do think Adam is likely to join, but other than that I have no idea, nor does anyone else as Kenny hasn't set out his ideas yet.}

I got told last week he was signing but since then I have seen nothing in the papers or heard anything else about it. Thought deal may have been held up because kk coming in. Thought kk may have gone for turan but I suppose he still
Can and play young on the other wing. On his day young can be a match winner but does have a tendency to go missing, let's hope kk can help be more consistent if he signs.

Liverpool have offered Galatasaray £10m plus Insua for Arda Turan. As of now it has not been accepted or rejected. Steve Warnock will sign while Konchesky will be offered for sale, his agent is actively attempting to set a deal up with a couple of London clubs. An offer will also be made to Valencia for Ever Banega who KK wants to replace Poulson who will return to Italy or Spain, although he has received a lucrative contract by a French club. Honda is still being monitored but will only be bid for if KK cannot bring in his no 1 striking target (dont know who it is ). So hopefully we will bring in Turan, Banega, Warnock and a striker and will see only Poulson, Insua and Konchesky leave.

Ed if the above is to be believed and i hope we get Honda and Bangera as pretty much every email i have sent has included Bangera, do you knoe if we are chasing Bangera as this boy is class??

Just a quick point on Transfers regarding the constant spin, questions from the press or whatever? KK is the mgr now and Roy was before, so. Liverpool Football Club have a transfer policy, not the manager alone. I remember an early quote from Commoli that all player purchases will be a GROUP decision, i.e. When it comes to youth players for example (less than say 18 yrs old), there will be a number of people involved, sat round a table, Senior players there may be different people involved but with Senior players there is always a commercial aspect, also Commoli stated that the fact Kenny was at the club already was a bonus because there was no better person to be involved as he knew the most about what it is to be a Liverpool player. So it won't be down to just the First Team Mgr or Commoli who identifies the players - that's the scouts job remember, Commoli is somewhat of a 'supervisor'.

Signings like Warnock for sure are Kennys picks as what we are looking for RIGHT NOW is the team to move forward again, what I mean is that this type of player will be signed on a shorter contract (say 6-18 mth contracts) only to give short term improvement to the Squad.

Now onto some of the other type of players mentioned regularly on this site, meaning players who'll be signed for the benefit of the Club long term (NESV's strategy for the club i.e. the Business Plan as remember that's what we are now - a Business and the team has to be productive both on the field and off, so players have to be value for money, which doesn't mean they won't spend £30 million on a player, they will if that player gives 5 yrs of value for money, goals whatever).

Suarez - Great prospect but again Unproven in England so is always a risk, but would be made up if we managed to get him

Lukaku - Again prospect, those who play 'the manager' will probably have a stiffie if we sign him BUT this is real life. Look at Balotelli, bad news, so again we have to be careful

Cointreau - Very very good but if hes looking at Warnock I doubt he'll sign in January. If French press are running that he loves Liverpool, then maybe he hasn't been able to keep shut about a Summer move arranged? I dunno, paper talk again?

Adam - Have been very impressed with him this season as I have with Blackpool as I'm sure everyone agrees, you have to question Blackkpool if they sell him, they'll fall into that just promoted team trap, where they sell there best players and will then drop off. I don't personally think we should be looking at CM, if we sell Poosen (which we should - I'd give him away) then we have Shelvey, Spearing to fill his place

My picks for players are,

A.Young - the player we should have signed years ago from Watford, I knew when I first saw him he was gonna be a good steady player - will give us Width and Pace and can finish too

Cointreau

Aguero - Why Not? If we could agree 35-40 million say with Athletico which I don't care what anyone says would be enough money, that's why he signed a new contract

Gourcoff - Apparently a 'Long Term' target of Knobhead up the M62, but I would love him because he could play wide or behind Torres

Pjanic - Wonderful wonderful player

Hazard - As Above

I think these players (all first team) would give us instant success, we really need investment in all areas of the squad though, 2 new CB, DM, Wingers, Up front.

So thanks for reading and remember this is just MY OPINION!

1st point, no signings will be made until the new chief exec is appointed, Peter Lawwell of Celtic, and Brian Barwick are set to meet the owners this week, with a view to one being appointed at the end of the week at the latest.
No actual talks have taken place with Luis Suarez, no contracts negotiated or anything, we have enquired to Ajax how much they want for the player - £25m and that is all that's happened.
Villa have been approached about Warnock, A.Young and Albrighton
Comolli is in talks with Taye Taiwo's agent about a Bosman move, but as with all our transfer targets, they're very concerned with our current league position. There is a lot of clubs interested in him, but he wants European football as well as a bumper contract offer.
No movement in talks with CSKA Moscow over Keisuke Honda. Dzagoev or Honda will be sold by CSKA, and Dzagoev is attracting interest from Palermo, Malaga and of course Chelsea. So if Liverpool want Honda, we have to move quickly.
Gary Cahill is not moving in this transfer window, with Arsenal primed to move in the summer.
As yet only bosman deals and loans have been discussed at the club - Marveaux, Emanuelson, Taiwo, Warnock. Transfers involving a fee will be discussed this week with Tom Werner and John W Henry.

Hi ed, i have just heard a strong rumour that kenny will look to bring in Aiden Mc Geady in the Jan window.I have also being told that it will be very difficult to get him in as he has been suberb form for Spartak and they will not want to lose him.What is in liverpools favour though is it seems he wants to come back to Britain and also that kenny is now in charge.I know for a fact that he has great respect for kenny and was a hero of his from his time at Celtic.I think it would be a great buy ed, have you heard anything about this?

Does Warnock fit into Nesv's buying policy? He's not young & he isn't that good to make a massive difference to our team! Granted, he is slightly better than our current left backs, but only just. So if he would be a stop gap signing until the summer then that's ok but not permanently. I wonder would Kenny be able to bring back Mavinga or if that is possible, or if he rates him highly. Can't wait for the game tomorrow! The crowd will be electric for Kennys return but there's a more important 3 points to win. I'm hapy to see Cahill not playing! A big bonus for us.

It's clear we need a new left back and Fabio Coentrao would be a fantastic buy but with being contracted to Benfica untill 2016 and with Real Madrid interested he will not come cheap €20m to €30m.
Taye Taiwo would be another great buy with only 6 months left on his contract would be available for around €5m but there are so many teams vying for his signature and also a possibility of him signing a new contract with Marseille.
The player i think we should go for is Cristian Ansaldi, he is a tough tackling Argentinian left back who is quite versatile, he can play with both feet, can play right back and also midfield. He is currently playing for Rubin Kazan and would be available for around €10m.
Sorry for the long post! :)

It looks like we could be defo looking at a player from wigan? daglish is at the fulham match today . roy and com was there 2 weeks back to . could be one of the following

Maynor Figueroa
Hugo Rodallega
Charles N'Zogbia

one thing is Charles N'Zogbia was on a match ban when roy and com was there and its starting to look convincing that warnock is coming back after been released by villa . so my money is defo on Hugo Rodallega

what you think ed? ?
he daglish maybe there to watch fulham tho {ed's note - it could be Rodallega, but I would not rule out Figueroa myself.}

Ok, how much do you value Adam at? Because both Banega and Sahin would be available around the 10m mark. Hardly a big splash in the water. Both would have a larger resale value, making them very attractive for NESV.

Yes it is always a risk that a certain player will not adapt to the Premiership, Sahin however speaks a good level of English, has played both in Holland, and Germany for a good few years. It is widely accepted that the Bundelsliga is the neatest top level league to the Premership for pace, intensity and physicality of the games. Banega in my opinion would be perfectly suited to the Premiership.

Back to Adam however, one has to wonder why he never made it at r*ngers. Why when he left them did he go to Blackpool, who at the time where a poor Championship team. I have the feelin that Adam needs to be the main man in the team, he needs to be the big fish. If he was to come to Anfield, he will be a small fish, in a very big pond. We have enough of them in the likes of Konchesky, Kyrgiakos etc. We need better players than Adam in our squad. I would rather see Shelvey play instead of wasting money on Charlie Adam. K3

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Rumour has it that Adam comands a price of circa £5mill. In the overall scheme of things, I feel he's worth a punt at that level, a bit similar to the David Speedie purchase. There maybe something in the 'big fish' theory, personally, I don't think he was that successful at Rangers as he didn't fit into their style of play. Shelvey is a different animal to Adam, Shelvey is certainly a prospect but wouldn't give what Adam can bring to the table and also in my opinion has demonstrated signs of immaturity in his vision when he's played in the first team, hopefuly kenny and Steve Clarke will enhance his game. The games i've seen Adam play, he demnstrates a natural instinct to move the ball forward and at the price being trumpeted, I can only see that would benefit our team at this time and possibly contribute to keping us up. It sclear theres going to be no big signings during this window and if we lose tomorrow, I fear we havn't got the character or confidence in the personnel we have to deal with a relegation battle.

This rumours growing some legs now ed . it on lfc tv now

Stephen Warnock is poised to return to Liverpool after accepting he has little future at Aston Villa, according to a report.

The England left-back has lost his place in the Villa first team and manager Gerard Houllier has indicated he is free to leave.

Blackburn Rovers were keen to sign the 29-year-old but it now seems that his destination will be Liverpool, reports the Daily Mail.

The Reds have asked to take Warnock on loan for the rest of the season and the player has apparently been told he can move to Anfield.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish views Warnock, who began his career with the Reds, as the answer to his team's left-back problem.

England right-back Glen Johnson moved across the defence to fill the role during the 2-1 defeat at Blackpool in midweek, but Dalglish believes he needs a more permanent replacement for Roy Hodgson favourite Paul Konchesky.

Aston Villa, who completed the transfer of Cameroon midfielder Jean Makoun from Lyon this morning, plan to sign a replacement for Warnock in the next few days.

Wigan Athletic's Maynor Figueroa is believed to be Houllier's preferred choice.

This story has been reproduced from today's media. It does not necessarily represent the position of Liverpool Football Club

Not sure if anyone posted this yesterday, but here is an interesting read from NESN. I usually try my best to dissasociate myself with rumours about Suarez, i do think its a case of wishful thinking. But sometimes you have to except there is no smoke without fire.

"Though things didn't look too good earlier this week regarding Liverpool's potential acquisition of Ajax striker Luis Suarez, things may have turned a bit.

According to the Daily Mail, a bid for the 23-year-old is imminent from Liverpool, and it could be at a discounted rate.

Ajax reportedly wants £28 million ($44.3 million) for Suarez, but given the team's financial situation, a bid of almost half that may suffice.

Suarez indicated he'd prefer to play for Spurs, but the report said he may not fit their style.

More spin from older articles maybe?

Curse you all for breaking my will and making me check if there is anything to these rumours. Heres hoping eh?

Red or dead

{Editor's Note: I would suggest that this is reasoned speculation arising from the fact that Van Wolfwinkel will not be fit for a while and therefore no bids will be placed for him.}

That makes no sense. If NESV sold Liverpool for much more than they paid for it, it would suggest they got it on the cheap, thus supporting H&G's case. In short, they cannot gain by selling LFC without substatially improving the club first.

Liverpool are definetly trying to sign Suarez.

Along with Suarez, Tiovonin could be signed in the summer to add further attack options. Tiovonin would act as a target man and has an aerial threat similiar to that of Crouch.

Hi guys

I'm faizal from south africa.
I don't have any solid rumours as such, but then what rumours are solid?. .

In my opinion we need to sign 3 players this month.

If we invest 35 mil in the playing staff, I think we might get a top 10 finish this season.

Here's the 3 we need:
Suarez - this guy might be a bit dodgy, but on the pitch, playing football, he is a master craftsman.
18 mil might be enough to get him off ajax.

Taiwo - solid left bak, and I have heard rumours that NESV do want more african players in.
10 mil - but maybe cheaper as I believe his contract does not have long to run. Sol closer to 5.

Lastly we need 1 good winger, would ask for 2, but let's not push it.
Juan mata - great player, however might cost a lot as jus signed new deal with valencia.
But face it. If we cum in with 15 mil, valencia and their money problems will consider.

Get rid of konchesky, poulsen and soto. That's should balance out.

Oh and charlie adam - debatable, but might not cost too much, so its worth a shout.

Wat u think ed? Plausible?

Faizal - post on rumours

{Editor Note: All the players you mentioned I like.}

{Editor Note: I don't like Vucinic, but I think Taiwo would be a good signing. I'm not sure if this is true, my fellow Ed knows his French football so I'll ask him.}

Their was something about Cardozo being linked with us a week or so ago, posted on this site. I think it was copy and pasted from a newspaper. But nothing since, until now.

Morning all. I was in the company of a fringe Everton player last night (friend of a friend). He told us that Liverpool have had an offer for Pienaar accepted by Everton and have been granted permission to speak to the player next week. He says Pienaar won't play in the Derby and both clubs have agreed to keep it quiet until next week. Not sure how reliable the guy is as it is the first time I have met him. Wouldnt be a bad addition though in my view at fairly low cost as well.

Aston Villa are intensifying their efforts to sign Maynor Figueroa after clearing the way for Stephen Warnock to return to Liverpool on loan.

Warnock has fallen out of favour under Gerard Houllier at Villa Park and is considering an opportunity to solve Liverpool's left-back problem by rejoining them for the rest of the season.

Just signed Jason Banton - seems he wasn't good enough for Blackburn who let him go but, in our present state, is adequate enough for Liverpool.

Kenny is NOT in charge of Transfers this window as he is only caretaker manager. He will be asked his opinion on players and his opinion will be valued but he's not in charge.
Should Kenny succeed on his trial and get the job on a permanent bassis then he'll have manager values come the summer.

What players do you think will be signed ed {ed's note - I really don't know, it is impossible to say now but I would have a guess at Turan (we all know Kenny loves him), McGeady wants to come back to the UK, but more likely to go further up north, Newcastle being the favourite (again Kenny loves him), apart from that I really wouldn't want to guess.}

Super injunction . .

can someone name them. {ed's note - I would struggle to be able to post them if they did, unless they remember to jest about them, even allegedly wouldn't be a good enough defence apparently!}

*Super injunctions are interesting legal weapons really, they don't just gag the press, they gag them from mentioning the existence of the gag.

An injunction is like when people say "if i told you id have to kill you", with a super injunction, . .they'd just kill you.

"Can anyone tell who is the player who has got a super injunction, and anonymity plea? The judgement has been reserved today"

There are several in the Prem. but no-one is allowed to know. For instance nobody is allowed to know that Glen Johnson is one. Allegedly. So we won't mention it.

Not speculation, just a few players who fit the new owneres criteria, and would add something to our squad.

Ninis, Panathinikos - young attacking midfielder, cost around 10 million pound, give or take 2 million pound, similar to nasri

M'Villa, Rennes - defensive midfielder, cost around 12-16 million, big powerhouse, french international

Gameriro, Lorient - a striker, also young, would again cost just below 10 million and is a goal poacher!

Kjaer, Wolfsburg - danish centre back, recently joined wolfsburg, but would cost around 10 mill, not sure how old, under 25 for certain, great addition to the squad, and surely a starter,

hopefully we have real great scouts who can pick up on players like these, if not similar, not rumours, just suggestions YNWA
Belive = good signings
Unbelievable = poor signings
