This could be pie in the sky and I really hope its not but 2 people have txt me tonight saying they have seen mata going in to Atlantic tower! I really really hope this is true because this lad is pure gold. This isn't a hoax message either. Just wondering if the eds have heard anything at all on this? Cheers eds

Yeah and I've just seen Marcus Babbel bunji jumping off Blackpool tower!

It is true. I bumped into him not 30 minutes ago as he was sharing a kebab and a bottle of white lightning with Ken Aguero.

Salah was just a smokescreen ;)

I was in the atlantic tower at 7.35 pm and yes it was mata. he was with 2 other guys that I did not recognise.
Agree1

Players signing at Liverpool usually stay at the Hilton or Hope Street Hotels….NOT the tatty old atlantic towers,,, Must be signing for the Bitter & Twisted mob instead.
Agree1
Disagree0
. This would never happen. What a joke!
Agree0

Even if it were true that Mata was in the Atlantic tower. Surely he won't be signing for Liverpool. Jose wouldn't be as mindless to sell to Liverpool in our current form. He would be well aware this would boost our title prospects.

Morning eds! Reported interested in Valbuena? Any truth to this? Thanks eds.
Also Ed02 I've heard on ssn arsenal are planing a £35m bid for draxler? More of a summer move? Or could it be this window? Thanks
Believable2
Unbelievable15
{Ed002's Note - Valbuena would be open to a move to England but interest is wide of the mark right now. I have done Draxler to death - they would take him now if they could - but that will be difficult.}
That deal would never happen in January as Draxler wants his place on the plane to rio, maybe in the summer but the deal depends on holtby's possible return!

Just wondering is John W Henry actually in Liverpool for talks with BR?
Believable54

About what?

Does it really matter? I would suspect BR speaks to Ayre, Werner, and Henry pretty regularly.

From what I've read he is meant to be in Liverpool to discuss funds for transfers. Just wanted to know was it true because you can't believe anything you read online these days.

{Ed002's Note - Twitter is a wonderful place.}
I think you'll find the Liverpool Echo reported Henry's likely presence in Liverpool over the coming weekend. And yes, Twitter is a wonderful place.

Does anyone know if we are actually trying to make a last ditch bid to sign Jorginho? Reports seem conflicting even as of 19.50 Can anyone confirm if we have made a bid?

Hellas Verona have confirmed that Napoli have submitted an official offer for Jorginho .

Good evening Eds,
Do you think there is a chance that LFC will put in a bid for Ravel Morrison? Do the club have any interest? He seems to fit the bill of good young English talent. I think he has more potential than the young lad from Dearby we are linked with.

Eds, the Mirrow are not the most reliable but there saying were in pole posistion for Badu. If so would this likely be for the summer with what's been said about us not likely to sign anyone?
Believable12
Unbelievable17
{Ed001's Note - he falls into the category of players struggling to get in their current team mate, it is more likely he comes in January to boost the squad for a top 4 push.}
In your personal opinion ed, do you believe he is better than what we already have at the club?
Agree1
Disagree0
{Ed001's Note - not seen enough of him to judge him to be honest.}
He looks ok. He ain't huge. Small athletic figure.can get stuck in but like Ed says he struggles to get into the team currently so not sure he is any better than Lucas or Allen.
We will see what happens
Agree0
Disagree0
Having seen Badu play a number of times, I really don't think he is even close to any of our current midfielders. IMO, he is at a similar level to Vurnon Anita or slightly more athletic Jay Spearing (even though I think Spearing had a better passing range). He has also struggled to hold down a starting place in his time at Udinese, which is quite ominious. One thing he has is plenty of stamina and will run forever, but he certainly does not look suited to a quick passing system.
It is likely that he is one of players being scouted, but is possibly seen as a fall back option perhaps?

Hello Eds just a quick update! Like I said the other day Badu will be the shock signing this week! Next week will be Bruno Martins Indi (amazing left back), and Salah is the key to this being a successful window expect a deadline deal with that one!
Cheers PDLFC

Why a deadline day deal? If we can afford to buy him why wait till the last second? I really can't recall the last time we made a deal for a big signing on the final day of the widow. Any statistics people out there who can tell me if we ever have splashed the cash on deadline day?

I hope PSG sign Pogba which would leave matuidi free to leave, Sakho who is a very close friend of his would do everything to convince him.

Haych things are rarely so simple.
Try convincing a great friend to leave a city they hate, and an employer they detest when ultimately the decision to stay can be (rightly or wrongly) seen as the best decision for their career

A slight thought when we are linked with players. Players won't just come to a team because of the team. There is a lot to take in such as, will there wags want to go, will the player have many friends around? Would they actually want to live in the city.
Saying this I can understand the Pedro rumours. A lot of competition for places at barca and also I have herd before his wife is English so perhaps she wants to come to England. If he did move to Liverpool he has Spanish team mates in Manchester.
Also Pepe Reina will sign for athletico Madrid.
Thanks

I know it's not always a massive indication however people don't generally tend to bet money they don't have needlessly nowadays.
I've heard that a lot of people are backing Pedro to sign for Liverpool and this is also reflected in tv slashing their odds to 7/2.
Have you heard anything about this ED's.
Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - Ribery was odds on to join Liverpool a few years back mate, betting odds have no bearing on reality.}
I will offer 3/1 now please bet as much as you like. can't wait to book the Bahamas for the whole of this summer.

This past summer we were bookies favourites to take Micah Richards. The summer before it was Demba Ba.
Agree0
Disagree0
An even better example is that for the last FOUR transfer windows (including this one) we've been odds on to sign tello and its still not even a possibility! but we will sign a winger and a left back- most likely to be salash and Montoya (though i'd prefer yarmolenko)
Agree0
Disagree0
I remember a friend of mine telling me Ribery would sign for Liverpool.
I didn't realise the betting odds were reflective of this as well.
I didn't think there was particularly any substance to this - but it would be nice if it were true.
Cheers for the reply.

Hi Eds. just wanted to ask if there is any news on the search for a new MD, because Ian Ayre is obviously not the greatest MD in Football, is there any correlation between us and that Nicola Cortese might be leaving Southampton in the summer?
Cheers

{Ed001's Note - nope and nope.}
A Managing Director is for the whole year, not just transfer windows!
Sad truth, but there are some fans of Liverpool F.C that don't care how Ian Ayre does on a day to day basis for 7 months of the year. Liverpool could be closing on great revenue and marketing ventures and it wouldn't mean the damnedest of things, as long Mr Ayre signs players in the two windows.
I'm positive the club as a whole including Ian Ayre are working hard to get the right player/s that fit in with the clubs plans and importantly, that we can afford. Now if it doesn't happen and we have no new players this January then it won't be for lack of seeking a variety of options and exhausting them thoroughly. How many would willingly sell Suarez this month? No!? Okay, how about Sturridge?
Agree10

Had his criticism is pretty unfair. We need a new DM not a new MD. Jorginho would be great but he may prefer Napoli.

This site has him valued at £15.5m, but the webpage is German and remember what they did to our chip shop? So, the answer to your question is the latter option, just about.
