Ed i come with news from anfield
next signing is unexpected and wont be done for another 2 weeks, the transfer of sergio augero will go through if a fee can be aranged. Augero claiming he doesnt want to play for AM anymore. move to prem likely, depends if teams with CL come in less chance.
On another note apart from this any news for the LB position who might be next?
Stan C {Ed009's Note - I think it is predominantly a two horse race between Cissokho and Enrique, if anyone.}

15 Jul 2011 23:25:57
signing lille eden hazard +everton leighton baines will win us the premiership. we need that next level in quality

the game is on

{Ed002's Note - Hazard is not going to be moving to Liverpool, at least not this year.}

15 Jul 2011 23:03:03
HI Ed- any chance of a 'marquee' signing before the window closes? Someone along the lines of Hazard/ Turan/Lavezzi/M'baye Niang/Higuain? would feel a lot more upbeat about the coming season if we were to get any one of these, i dont rate Carroll too highly {Ed009's Note - right now I doubt it. Striker is far from a priority position.}

15 Jul 2011 22:54:12
hi ed, do u think we will sign a back up striker and if so who is the most likely striker we will sign?thanks {Ed009's Note - I am not so sure we will. I believe that a left back, a centre back and another winger are of higher priority and we do not have an unlimited wage budget and transfer budget. I suppose Jeffren Suarez is a possible option as a striker cum winger.}

15 Jul 2011 22:43:25
Hi Ed's. Im a massive fan of this site by the way... im reading on alot of websites that liverpool are going to sign 1 BIG marquee signing this year to really get other clubs paying attention to us. im hearing it could be Juan Mata but over the last couple of days im reading alot of speculation on Higuain, is there any truth in this? and do you think he would really come to Liverpool? {Ed009's Note - I very much doubt Higuain will be joining Liverpool this summer. He is one of Mourinho's favourite players and would command wages higher than what we would be willing to pay for a third striker.}

15 Jul 2011 22:40:54
Liverpool are being linked with versatile German international Marcell Jansen

as Liverpool searches for a new left-back.

The 24-year-old has played in several positions during a career that has been solely in the Bundesliga so far, and is employed as a midfielder as much as a defender by current club Hamburg.

15 Jul 2011 22:33:34
Ed do you agree with Macca when he he says Downing will conclude our summer signings ? Personally I think that's it for now until near the end of the window. Thought's Ed ? cheers, {Ed009's Note - In my opinion we are at a stage where we are satisfied with what we have achieved, but not finished. We will look to sign a left back and a centre back, but won't make any panic buys and on the off chance that no one can be found for a fair price, we won't be held to ransom.}

15 Jul 2011 22:06:57
Stewart Downing has today completed his transfer from Aston Villa to Liverpool.
The winger, who has 27 England caps, put his signature on a long-term deal after passing a medical.

Downing is the club's fourth major signing of the summer following Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Alexander Doni.

Stay logged on to .tv for the 26-year-old's first interview.

15 Jul 2011 22:05:47
Ed i've heard Downing is on a plane to Malaysia right now, he will be unvailed in front of the Malaysian supporters which i think will be unbelievable for Stuart Downing considering 35,000 supporters watched the team train

15 Jul 2011 22:02:55
Alonso said IF HE LEAVES then liverpool would be his first choice. Big if tho

crazy-legs.

15 Jul 2011 21:59:01
Hearing rumours downing has failed his medical anyone else hear anythin on this?

stevo. {Ed009's Note - I have not heard this no. I hope it isn't true and doubt it somewhat.}

15 Jul 2011 20:40:30
ALy Cissokho won't be the player Know many of the fans think he is the one But as i have told you already on here LFC are negotiating with Fiorentina to agree a deal for for Juan Manuel Vargas which involves either Insua or Aquilani, perhaps both LFC has no intention of spending much amount of cash on this LB spot as they believe they have good back up & young players coming through the ranks who will be filling that spot at the team soon. LFC needs a player who is already at his peak just like Downing who can deliver from the start. LFC believes Vargas has more experience in that position & is better than both ALy & Jose. Lyon are demanding 18M euros for Cissokho & Newcastle are demanding 15M euros for Enrique Enrique is i suppose off to Arsenal as he wants Champions League football. LFC believe they can agree a 15M euros deal
(involving players) with Fiorentina for Vargas. I expect a deal to be completed with two weeks or sooon.

Ed sky sports just said Stuart Downing failed 2nd medical, Liverpool sending him back to villa, is it true? Tyson {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of that.}

15 Jul 2011 21:46:58
Liverpool FC are very close to making their next big signing with Aly Cissokho likely to be named as their new left-back next Monday. FootyBunker

15 Jul 2011 21:38:59
Enrique and Johnson are the last two names on the list. Kenny & Comolli are trying hard but they feel it might be too much to ask. An alternative left-back is being discussed....

15 Jul 2011 21:26:04
Hi Eds, any chance of Lisandro Lopez from Lyon coming to us?

Nnam {Ed009's Note - there was interest in him a few seasons ago if I remember correctly, but I don't think we hold any anymore. Resigned to losing Bastos and Cissokho, I doubt they would want Lopez to leave as well.}

15 Jul 2011 21:22:12
Hi eds. I know it might be irratating but can U plz Inform us Of any Further interest in adam johnson. quality player imo wud fit perfectly in our team. HIGHLY apriciated UMER (LH>CT>SA) {Ed009's Note - Johnson is in a very difficult situation. Previously an impossibility due to City's ridiculous policy of not selling to Premier League rivals, in the last few months the chances have increased somewhat. Mancini doesn't want the player anymore, he believes him to be a bad trainer, and Johnson wants out. The board are more willing to listen to Mancini since he gained power in his position through winning the FA Cup and sealing a Champions League spot.

If they were to seal a winger replacement, I believe the player could well be available for the right price. Whether we would make a move for the player we were previously interested in, having bought Downing, is a different matter all together.}

15 Jul 2011 19:55:48
Hi Ed's, just wanting to know how many other signings were looking to make? Clearly we want a left back but are we still in for Mata or even another winger? Great site by the way lads Thanks {Ed009's Note - I would say two minimum, and perhaps more if we can shift a good amount of the so called 'deadwood.' Left back and centre back are, as far as I know, the priority. After that I would imagine comes a winger then a striker. I don't believe we are still in for Mata as we failed to act at all after we made the enquiry for the player. A very good option for me would be Johnson, who is potentially available, but he would of course cost a hefty sum of money.}

15 Jul 2011 19:49:24
Look i am only posting what i was told, they believe that we can manage till Jan with what we have.

Then they believe Enrique will be half the price he is now..

If people would prefer me to stop posting then of course i will..

It does baffle me that people still doubt what i say, of course i have been wrong on numerous occasions but have also been right before anyone else, the press included.

Listen i cant say it enough but things change, surely people can see we did try and sign Young..

it makes me laugh in all walks of life how people always try and knock you down..

Eds why dont you have a vote and work out if i should post or not..

Cheers

Macca {Ed009's Note - because we don't need a vote Macca. You ought to keep telling everything you know, just like everybody else should. As I have said; if we ostracised everyone who ever made a slip up on this site, I'd be the only one on here... in all seriousness this is the end of the issue. Whilst I am not sure I agree with what you say it makes sense.}

Ed do you think there is any chance that liverpool could sign either pato or hulk? I know on the face of it they look very unlikely but so did carrol and suarez. I have heard of reliable people that we have watched porto all season and have watched AC milan a lot since january too. AC milan don't start pato every game and i think if we went in with a big offer we could get him and he would be perfect on the right of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Just wondered what you thought ed? {Ed002's Note - No, they won't be signing I am afraid.}

15 Jul 2011 20:26:38
Hi eds, is there anything in the rumour of us getting affellay (barca)? If so, how will he fit in ? Thanks Y..N..W..A. Dhh. L20 kopite {Ed002's Note - I don't think there is any interest at this time.}

15 Jul 2011 20:26:08
I have it on good authority that LB is not a big issue for this window. LB will be Glen Johnson and Flanagan which i am more than happy with. All efforts will be made to sign Scott Dann who for me is the perfect CB for us to get, tall, strong and above all big LFC fan and true scouser. Next target will be a RW dont know who but i hear there is a list of 5 possible targets. KD loves width to his teams with old fashioned wingers. Kuyt will cover for RM and CF. A backup striker will be bought only if we get rid of most of the S**T but that is a big ask at the moment. KD is taking LFC back to the old school. My source is quite high in the ranks so believe what you like about rumours such as Mata it will not happen it is a pipe dream for now.

15 Jul 2011 20:24:52
i reckon jeffren suarez will come for 7.8m and be a regular sub

15 Jul 2011 20:22:00
christian poulsen's agent is apparently saying he's staying at liverpool but no offence to him but he is not good enough for liverpool plus they have too many midfielders

15 Jul 2011 20:13:32
Hello ED I was just wondering were all these xabi alonso rumours have come from is there a legit source that can confirm this. I do love xabi and would be so happy if he returned. I think we are a quality left back an extra striker and one more winger from a proper title push as we have no european distraction this season which should give us longer breaks between games to recover and be 100 percent fit for league games {Ed002's Note - I don't know where they have come from but I don't expect him to be moving to Liverpool this summer.}

15 Jul 2011 20:09:16
The results of a medical takes two days at liverpool according to an interview given by the club doctor on lfctv last summer, thats why the 'delay' in announcing the Downing signiture

Video of downing medical playing on ltc tv. Looks done.

15 Jul 2011 20:01:40
Hey ed So do you think that Downing s transfer will fall through with the medical issues? Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - I don't know if there are "medical issues" or not. It seems he has had a second medical - but perhaps that was planned all along. So I shall say no, it will go through.}

15 Jul 2011 19:42:34
Hi ed great site by the way very addictive just want to ask whats happening with downing he has had a medical and discussed personal terms so why has no announcement been made and doni already has {Ed002's Note - I am told there was some medical aspects and personal term,s to complete.}

15 Jul 2011 19:14:06
According to as.com and sport.es, we are in for jeffren from barca. What you recon ed's? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Sevilla and Napoli have shown an interest and it did look like Valencia were going to make a move. It may be an old story being recycled.}

15 Jul 2011 19:08:15

15 Jul 2011 18:57:52
Liverpool FC are very close to making their next big signing with Aly Cissokho likely to be named as their new left-back next Monday.
Liverpool still require a new defender in that area and had considered Newcastle United s Jose Enrique however the Spaniard would prefer to join a side competing in this seasons Champions League competition. Arsenal were linked with Cissokho but Wenger confirmed that the left side of their defence was covered, leaving the route free for Dalglish to make his move for the strong 23 year old.
Figures of £10m have been quoted although his current club Lyon are looking to sell for at least £12m, having paid Porto 15m in 2009. There will be concerns on his medical however, with AC Milan pulling out at the last minute in 2009 after discovering could suffer from spinal injuries later on in his career.
Should a medical go through without any issues, Liverpool s defence will look complete with just another striker expected to join the squad this summer.

Source my uncle...come monday you'll remember this post

Aly cissoko to sign for 12 mil on sunday, jose enrique wants cl football.

15 Jul 2011 18:42:18
Stewart Downing latest - He's just having a second medical (i don't know exactly why but i suppose it's just to be 100% sure) , plus going through personal terms should be completed within the next 48 hours.

Phil.

15 Jul 2011 18:39:48
TalkSport claiming Aquaman is staying? I still think he is a good midfilder and he did not have a chance to prove himself
what do you think ED??

wal {Ed009's Note - I like the player but as far as I know he will still be leaving if a buyer can be found. TalkSport are notoriously questionable.}

15 Jul 2011 17:56:58
Ed what is the chances out of 10 of Alonso coming back to play for Liverpool anytime again ? Cheers. {Ed009's Note - at any point? Reasonable. This window? Not much of a chance at all. I am not going to be doing chances out of ten again for the most part.}

15 Jul 2011 17:43:57
Do we really "need" anything else this season? Obviously the more quality players we add, the better off we are. However even at CB, we have Carragher, Agger, Skrtel with Kelly able to play there. At LB, Johnson played well there and Aurelio is not a bad player. Now Im not saying we shouldn't look to improve the team further but I don't think there is any unbelievably pressing need.

We obviously are set in midfield and could probably use to trim a couple players. Up front we have Carroll, Suarez, Kuyt and Downing. We could use another forward/winger potentially for depth. However between Gerrard, Meireles, Cole and Aqualni we have plenty of guys who can play as attackers if need be. And I understand some of those guys may be leaving and if they do perhaps we use the money from them to get players who fit our needs more precisely. However lets say we can't find anyone to meet our valuation of Meireles or Aqualani. Is it such a bad thing to have players of that quality on the bench? Isn't that what we want? Depth like that? Wouldnt it be nice to say have on the bench for a game: Kuyt, Meireles, Aqualani, Henderson?

15 Jul 2011 17:34:12
Just in Xabi alonso's Agent says;
if liverpool meet real madrid asking price 21.5 million euros then there is no stopping him.

real red-man.

15 Jul 2011 17:30:36
Ed please tell me we're not close to signing enrique because i think he is s**t he'll be another konchesky but not as worse {Ed002's Note - I don't know that Liverpool are close to signing him.}

15 Jul 2011 17:29:58
have u heard anything on mata the rumour has gone very quiet do u think they are working in cover {Ed002's Note - Please put Mata out of you mind - Liverpool have their number one target in Downing.}

15 Jul 2011 17:26:31
Liverpool today confirmed they have completed the signing of Alexander Doni from AS Roma.

The goalkeeper has put pen to paper on a contract with the Reds after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.

15 Jul 2011 17:26:08
doni deal completed

15 Jul 2011 17:23:31
Hi ed. Who do u think kenny will sign as a lb for us. Also do u know of any interest in any strikers? {Ed002's Note - If a LB does come in it could well be Enrique. There has been interested in a number of Strikers - not least Park Chu-Young. Hoarau has a gains been mentioned and Benjamin Moukandjo.}

15 Jul 2011 17:17:22
Alonso cuming bk yes 19mil bargin.

15 Jul 2011 17:17:21
Hey Eds,

Who do you think Liverpool's new additions will be by the end of summer?

E.g. Scott Dann - £10 Million {Ed009's Note - I'm afraid I daren't make the prediction. Right now I'd say the most likely though are Cissokho, Enrique and Dann.}

15 Jul 2011 17:16:04
Doni confirmed Eds just a thought do you think there could be an issue with downings medical? Seems strange that the deal has not been anounced, especially as when we signed charlie adam we were getting regular updates from the club and pictures of him doing streches and weight training etc? {Ed009's Note - no I am sure everything is in hand. It is unlikely that, unless a player has a serious injury or problem, they will fail a medical.}

Hey ed im an admin for a Facebook group and there a lot of talk from other groups that Liverpool are going to make a 25mil bod for Real's Higuain, i was just wondering weather it could be on the cards or just bs that people have made up, thanks.
Pops {Ed002's Note - I very much doubt it will happen.}

15 Jul 2011 16:48:31
if fiorentina are showing a little interest in aqualani eds do you think offering him plus cash for vargas could be a viable option? cissokho would be great signing but primarily just a left back whereas vargas can play anywhere down the left (much like bastos) it would give us more options as you can push him up into left wing and give robinson some game time.

ryanmc73 {Ed002's Note - It may be an option but I suspect a loan is on the cards initially.}

15 Jul 2011 16:42:10
{Ed009's Note - 1) personally I believe we will sign a left back, simply because there was sustained interest in Enrique at one point and there is interest in Cissokho now. 2) Kjaer will return to Italy if anywhere. Dann is a far more viable option, and is available for around 10 million pounds. 3) I don't see why not, but I see left back and another winger or winger/striker as more likely than a striker at this time. 4) Kenny wasn't given a budget as such, no. Let alone one of 60 million. Transfers are judged on their individual merits.}
==========================

Ed009 not sure if you remember but few weeks back I did reply to you saying I think Glen Johnson will be our left back for most of next season which will allow Kenny to accommodate him and Kelly .. I dont think a left back is as much of a priority as most of us fans think, but I might be wrong , there is a lot of rumours about Aly Cissokho ..

Some people seem a bit underwhelmed by our transfer business so far.

How does everybody feel we have done compared with our rivals?

Liverpool: Henderson, Adam & Downing

Man UTD: De Gea, Jones & Young

Chelsea: Lucas Piazon

City: Stefan Savic & Gael Clichy

Arsenal: Gervinho & Carl Jenkinson

Spurs: Brad Friedel & Cristian Ceballos

Without getting into prices I think we have significantly improved the team, with more business to be done.

United to a lesser degree with Young the only player I would say has improved their first team (they replaced an experienced keeper, and added depth at CB).

Man City, Arsenal and Spurs have yet to make waves at all. I don't think Clichy is an improvement on Kolarov although Arsenal's signing of Gerviniho could be a good bit of business if the player settles quickly. Spurs I think are burdened by a large wage bill at present.

A good summer so far I think.

15 Jul 2011 16:33:08
hi eds,
i may be being a little slow here but im confused as to why downing has not been confirmed, is there any problems or is it just taking a little longer as kenny is away? {Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with the manager. Once Downing has signed I am sure the club will make a statement. I suspect it is no more than personal terms being figured out.}

15 Jul 2011 16:23:32
Ed Iker munain have you or Macca heard anything about him lately?. very good option for the second winger being sought imo. Also out of ten if you still do that what are the chances of...
1/ Aly Cissokho
2/ Scott Dann
3/ Michel Bastos
4/ Seydou Doumbia (CSKA)

And finally have you heard anything regarding the future of Cska winger Alan Dzagoev? i remember one of you's saying that there was premier league interest in him and it wasnt chelsea.

Cheers {Ed002's Note - I don't see Muniain moving this summer. Dzagoev has interested Chelsea in the past but it transpires it was Arsenal who had shown an interest earlier this year. As for the others: 3, 7, 1, 0.}

15 Jul 2011 16:23:25
if we remove some deadwood how bout jeffren only 20 and would be great backup if carroll or suarez were to get injured and available for about 7million

sorry forgot to ask for an eds opinion plz what are your thoughts {Ed002's Note - I reckon he could move to Sevilla.}

Jul 2011 16:23:13
Evening everyone, ed, do you think we will sign another winger? I certainly hope so as we will only have Kuyt, who should play as striker, and Suarez, who is good there, but far better in a 4-4-3 and obviously as a striker. Thanks mate, the site is great.

maka {Ed002's Note - I am not convinced any more wingers will be bought in. There are other priorities right now.}

15 Jul 2011 16:07:41
ed what are the chances of signing these players and what prices do u think they are worth

enrique
dann
doni

love the site {Ed009's Note - Our interest in Enrique seems to have waned due to a combination of his lacklustre performances towards the end of the season and Newcastle's overpricing of the player at about 15 million. What's more he ideally wants to join a Champions League club. Dann is a very viable option, probably the most likely centre back at this time and he would cost around 10 million pounds. Doni is almost certain to sign for a small fee. His wages will be the main cost and that is why the deal is taking a while to materialise.}

15 Jul 2011 16:07:12
Ed - quick question for you
With Enrique wanting CL football, our poor (Blue) neighbours unlikely to sell us Baines, Izaguirre wanting to stay at Celtic and Cissoko possibly wanting to go to a club in the CL as well...do you think we may re-new our Jan window interest in Stephen Warnock? Could this be the familiar face returning Kenny mentioned?
Keep up the good work {Ed009's Note - I doubt it. Robinson would be as good there.}

15 Jul 2011 16:03:39
Hi guys great site, just a couple of thoughts.
If Macca really said that we are not after a left back then a centre back should be a priority.
Scott Dann and Gary Cahill have been mentioned but how about Thiago Silva or Brede Hangeland
or Chris Samba.They are all solid centre backs and good in the air where we conceded a lot of goals from set plays last season.But my pick is Mamadou Sakho he fits the criteria of LFC being only 20 but is very impressive on the ball and in the air, one for the future.
Also another striker should be Daniel sturridge knows where the goal is and is quick around the box.
These are my thoughts what do you think EDS AND MACCA? {Ed002's Note - Sakho is not an option and will not be leaving PSG this year. I very much doubt Sturridge is an option either.}

15 Jul 2011 16:03:14
just read a website quoting downing 75k a week surely we know better and this cannot be tru {Ed009's Note - 60,000 as far as I know.}

15 Jul 2011 15:44:23
Ed/Macca;
1)Do you think we are not going to sign any leftback this summer? Insua back in the squad and maybe KD will give him chance to prove? Also Aurelio getting back from injury...
2)How about Simon Kjaer? lfc still interested in him? AFAIK, he also like Dann, love to play for LFC.
3)is it possible 2 more signing will be centreback and striker?
4)henderson 15m, c.adam 7m, downing 18m, doni 2m, =42M...FSG given KD 60m right?

dtg'LFC {Ed009's Note - 1) personally I believe we will sign a left back, simply because there was sustained interest in Enrique at one point and there is interest in Cissokho now. 2) Kjaer will return to Italy if anywhere. Dann is a far more viable option, and is available for around 10 million pounds. 3) I don't see why not, but I see left back and another winger or winger/striker as more likely than a striker at this time. 4) Kenny wasn't given a budget as such, no. Let alone one of 60 million. Transfers are judged on their individual merits.}

Cissokho Edges Closer to Liverpool Move:

Liverpool look likely to seal the signature of Aly Cissokho after Lyon admitted that they will sell the player should the right offer be made. It is believed that a deal in the region of 12m may be enough to see one of Europe's brightest defensive prospects join the Red half of Merseyside.

Having seemingly fallen out with his current club's hierarchy, the Frenchman may be looking for a new challenge. And having previously stated his desire to one day play in the Premier League, a deal could be struck as early as next week.

With Newcastle standing firm over their valuation of Enrique, a move for the 23-year-old now looks to be the likeliest outcome.

I can back up Maccas claims I work with a lad who knows John Aldridge's lad and he said that Jamie Carragher said we won't be after a left back as we are gonna continue to use Kelly right back and Johnson left back with Robinson and Flanagan covering with also Aurelio too if not sold or released. He also said don't be suprised if Loverpool close the cheque book till the winter.

Thanks

Some inside source coming with the news that Liverpool will get a player from Bundesliga. It will be either Podolski or Robben who can play both as a supporting striker and winger.

La Nazione is reporting that Liverpool are looking for 12 million for Aquilani. Fiorentia are not willing to go over 11 million. There is also talk of a player plus cash. Aquilani + 3 million for Vargas.

15 Jul 2011 14:44:37
Ed how many more signings can we expect to see? {Ed009's Note - a conservative estimate would be 3 more after Downing. Doni, a left back and a centre back probably. They could well be Dann and Cissokho. Similarly it could be neither.}

La Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that Fiorentina are only a step away from securing Aquilani. Deal thought to be an initial loan with option to buy.

Blackburn to bid for Honda was he not one of our targets
James

15 Jul 2011 14:25:45
that Blackburn Rovers are ready to make a bid for Japanese superstar Keisuke Honda.

A host of clubs have been linked with the CSKA Moscow midfielder, with clubs in England, Italy, Spain and France all said to be keen.

But Rovers are now ready to try and make a move for the 25-year-old and are prepared to bid £12million for his signature.

If true, do you think we might make a move.......£12 mill seems a very decent price if accurate?

Mark the Selby Red {Ed002's Note - I don't know. Liverpool had the chance to buy him in January and did not follow up their initial interest.}

What happened to the Enrique deal Macca? I thought he was a done deal? And Young? And Benzema? Now we dont want a LB, we cant buy Benzema all of a sudden yet it was fine when the same players were on the wage bill back in Feb.

Please post on Rumours Ed, so he can reply to this.

Hi Eds

Dont you think we still need another forward, soemone who can be versatile and play upfront or out wide as cover for Carrol and Suarez, as they are not going to play every single game and Suarez may even miss the start to the season Hence I think Juat Mata would per the final iece of the jigsaw for us as What are your thoughts ? Also who do you think would fit into that in of role that we could reasonable buy ?
Thanks
{Ed009's Note - he is a very good player but right now I see the chances of him joining as relatively slim. We haven't acted since we made the enquiry for the player and Valencia have since become less keen on him leaving. I suppose there is still a chance if we make a concerted effort to sign the player as he would be willing to join us. I still don't see why we didn't sign Honda in January. He would have aptly solved the problem you mention for 12 million. Lavezzi is an expensive option of course. Park Chu Young is a more affordable one.}

SSN state that the Italian Press are claiming that Fiorentina are close to signing Aquilani.

Don't shoot the messenger but, A mate in work who happens to be a spurs fan recieved a text telling him Moderic is going to Man Utd which will make Redknapp go after Aquilani in a deal involving Aaron Lennon coming to us. Im not convinced myself but I thought I'd share what I've heard.

15 Jul 2011 13:58:03
Is Macca suggesting that after doni and downing, our business in the transfer Market is done ? Or does he mean were just not going for a left back? Because although I'm happy with business done so far, I think we are still a player or two from being title contenders. {Ed002's Note - All he said was that a LB was not being sought.}

15 Jul 2011 13:55:05
Hi Eds,

If we have really made enquires for Scot Dann and are really interested in him, what is the hold up ? They have managed to seel Roger Johnson to Wolves, so what is the issue with Dann ? surely it cant be price as the askng price is about £10m, which is reasnable for a player of his standard. Eds, what are your opinions on this ?

thanks {Ed002's Note - I don't know what enquiries have been made but I assume he is back to full fitness as Everton are now showing an interest in the player.}

15 Jul 2011 13:53:56
Eds, just a question with regards to the LB position. I know that it is probably too much to ask Robinson or Flanagan to fill full time at their ages, however, given the potential of both players, do you think they could fill the position between them, giving one a run of 3 or 4 games, and when Kenny thinks the time is right, bringing the other one in so that we are not asking too much of them? Just a thought.

Jimbo {Ed002's Note - I don't see it as the best use of Flanagan but in the longer term Robinson should have a decent chance of making the position his own.}

15 Jul 2011 13:39:26
Hi Eds,

Regarding the statement from Alan Pardew that Luis Enrique wants to move for Champions Leauge football , does that count Liverpool out of the race to sign him, or do you think he wud still be tempted if a offer was aceepted ?

Thanks {Ed009's Note - I am not so sure that any Champions League teams are so interested in the player at this time, especially since Wenger suggested he wants to give Gibbs a chance at left back. As such I think he would be interested were we to attempt to make a deal with him. Hopefully not though as, although a good player, he is not as good as Cissokho, and I think the money could be better spent on a player who wants to play for us.}

15 Jul 2011 13:35:57
We are not Signing Aguero neither Higuain or any other Striker in my opinion As the Midfield is now Jam Packed, Kuyt has to be pushed up as an out & out Striker... Which will properly means he's not gonna make the starting link up Which I think is a shame as I thought he was our best player last season

As for transfers possibly 1 or 2 more.... LB & CB Haven't got much opinion on who we should sign as I trust King Kenny

Haven't had any of my comments posted yet so can you Please post this one

Thanks

Will downing sign today any news on baines coming from everton {Ed009's Note - If Baines moves it could well be to us. Arsenal are looking to give Gibbs a chance at left back and Clichy has solved City's problems. He would cost a large sum of money though - especially to us - and I am not so sure there aren't better options out there in terms of value for money, Cissokho for example. Downing should be sealed any time now. He has already agreed to wages of roughly 60,000 a week, which is 5000 less than he was on at Villa, interestingly enough.}

15 Jul 2011 13:28:51
Morning eds, Is it really Macca. Thats bcoz he usually have good sources. But i think a LB should be most priority than any other position at this moment of time. I dont understand bco if we buy that many CMs why not one player for one of the most problem areas for 2-3 years. Pls tell ur opinion on this. {Ed002's Note - It is Macca.}
Thanks for reply ed, But what do u think about this? Will we be likely getting or least moving to sign a left back. Thanks. {Ed009's Note - Personally I see definite interest in Enrique and Cissokho at this time. We will move to sign a left back in my opinion but I doubt there is any desperation to do so; Kenny is unlikely to overpay as he clearly believes that when you're good enough, you're old enough and Robinson is certainly good enough.}

15 Jul 2011 13:33:43
Poulson has a price tag of £2mil and has been subject of interest from both Fulham and West Brom. Brondby and FC Copenhagen would be keen to sign him, although his £50,000 wages make it more difficult for them to compete for his signature.

Jay Spearing will be loaned out to gain more first team football, his chances will be extremely limited this season and Liverpool are trying to find a premiership club who would be interested in him. Bolton have expressed interest in the past.

Raul Meireles will not be sold unless Liverpool get around £14mil for him. Aquilani looks set to stay with no clubs showing any real interest in him. Although from what I've been told "The King" has been impressed from what he's seen of the italian in training and his attitude has been extremly proffesional. (I personally would keep both Raul and Alberto.)

It's just my opinion but I reckon Henderson will be played out on the right side of midfield this season and gradually he will take over the Gerrard role over the next few years.

Ed, I was wondering is Park Chu-Young any closer to signing for Sevilla or do we still have a chance? Think he's quality Thanks :) {Ed002's Note - He has had offers from at least Lille, Sevilla and Schalke 04. He is possibly holding out for an offer from AC Milan. 8M euro is the asking price and Liverpool have a chance.}

15 Jul 2011 13:16:21
I have been told that we are not going to sign a left back, apparently we are going to see how we get on till Jan..

Hey Ed(s) - Still doing a great job despite the same questions over and over again
The signing to date have been great IMO. KK has done his homework and brought in quality EPL experience at the right ages. I am positive about the season ahead and look forward to kick off

I do however have questions (surprise, surprise). Aquaman looked good the other day in China. He lookes sharp and hungry. All the photos off him show a smile and determination too. I have to say, Meirles looks the opposite to me? I personally would like to see at least one of them stay even though they are a little 'lieghtweight' for the EPL. Aquaman good be a top player though given time and KK guidance.
Do you think there's a chance he will stay? Do you think Raul M will drop his wage demands and stay?
Interested to hear what you know or think (and Macca).
Cheers lads
The Goatherder
JFT96 {Ed002's Note - Liverpool are trying very hard to sell Aquilani, the problem being no one seems to be too interested. I expect him to leave during the transfer window. Miereles is not making unreasonable demands - as I understand it all he wants is promises made to him to be kept. I think he will leave as well.}

Just before the Aguero rumours start up again for various reasons (e.g Interest in Tevez from Juventus), I would like to point out that Aguero will not be moving to Liverpool. I have said this many times before, Aguero's wage demands are far too high. The highest the club can offer is £115,000 (Stevie's on £120) and Aguero wants at least £180,000. FSV would be happy to give £40M (or however much AM want) but Aguero will not move to LFC unless he wants a wage cut.

I have reliable sources.

Thanks, James.

Was just wondering if there is still the interest in Tom Cairney from Hull? Definately one for the future.

Also, do you not think another striker will be a priority if, as I expect, N'Gog leaves as he's too lightweight?

Real Madrid and Neymar have reached agreement over the contract the Brazilian will sign as and when los Blancos finally pay the 45m release clause demanded by Santos, with AS reporting the 19-year-old will pen a six-year deal and earn a net 5m-a-year plus 50% of his image right, this could lead to Higuain joining LFC just putting 2and2 together

Hey Eds thanks for the addictive site Some good news on Santi Cazorla. Liverpool have turned their attention to the player. He plays RM and could be ours if we bid 17.5m for the player. Pepe Reina suggested the player to King Kenny and it seems that Reina has convinced king kenny to try and buy him. {Ed002's Note - Cazorla plays for Villareal not Real Madrid. If he does not move to Malaga for the 23M euros offered he will likely no leave Villareal.}

Hi Ed's

Been a productive transfer window so far, some quality editions to the squad. I think we are 3 players short and if we could conclude deals for a centre back, a left back and a striker then that would be fantastic business.

In my opinion this would be my perfect but realistic conclusion to our transfer business this summer.

Gary Cahill, Aly Cissoko and Kevin Doyle.

What would you say ed's and fellow posters? Im sure i'm probably gunna get 'some' stick for Doyle but hey thats only my view.

Cheers guys

More a question than a rumour but please post in rumours... With Juventus now bidding for Tevez does that mean the Aguero deal isn't happening as many thought? And does that mean he has his heart set on somewhere else, or can they afford both? (What a strike pairing that would be, week in week out together).

Aguero to Liverpool? You heard it here first (OK, maybe not first but first since five minutes ago)

Michael Bland {Ed002's Note - Juventus' interest in Aguero has waned somewhat. I very much doubt he will be moving to Liverpool.}

Ed, wen will we announce Downing and Doni ?

also, have we put a bid in for Cissohko as lots of ppl claimed to have sighted him in England, and i know u eds have sed b4 dat we are in talks at an advanced stage but aint bid as of yet, and have we put in a higher bid for Bastos yet, i fink with those 2 further additions our summer will be done.

INS --- Henderson, Adam, Downing, Doni, Cissohko, Bastos

BigD {Ed002's Note - I don't know when any announcement will be made. There is no bid for Cissokho yet but there may well be one to come - there are certainly not talks at an advanced stage. BAstos is not interested in a move to Liverpool so I dobt a further bid will be made.}

hi Eds

just wondering about Lukaku, back in jan we were heavily linked to the player, who seems to fit into FSG policy - I know he has stated he is a chelsea/Drogba fan but hasnt ruled out a move to any other clubs - so do you think its a done deal with Chelsea, or may we have any interest?

Ray {Ed002's Note - Chelsea, Spurs, Real Madrid, Juventus, Barcelona, Liverpool, Arsenal, Ajax, AC Milan have shown an interest over recent months. Anderlecht want €30M and priced the player out of the market. His agent is now hawking him around a number of clubs trying to muster up interest. Chelsea's interest in Lukaku cooled when Anderlecht said they wanted 30M euros for the player. Chelsea made it clear that was not going to happen and identified an upper value they would go no higher than. Arsenal are reportedly working on a 20M eros bid and Spurs are monitoring the situation. His agent has been hawking him around the English clubs so Liverpool could well put themselves in the frame for him. However, I suspect Liverpool will share Chelsea's view that he is not worth the risk of a 30M euros investment.}

Ed002's, Have you heard anything new in regards to:

- Moussa Sissoko
- Yann M'Vila

also,

The chance of transfer bids for Aly Cissokho and Mamadou Sakho? I have heard that bids for these players are imminent and will happen either Sunday or Monday morning. {Ed002's Note - All that ius new with Sissoko is interest from Manchester City. I think Liverpool interest in M'Vila has been dropped. Sakho is completely off the agenda and Cissokho remains a possibility - but nothing new.}

This is regd the post sayin we should make a statement of intent by getting Neymar. Honestly I don't think he is leaving brasil this summer, but if LFC were to arrange a pre-agreement with him to sign in the winter it would be a huge statement of intent. The greatest advantage would be that the current squad would look forward with hope and hopefully play with the same intensity as we saw from them during the second half of last season. This could be an immense motivational tool and would get us 100% from each player without spending a single shilling. Now that is what I would perceive as smart business. Azkop {Ed002's Note - There is zero chance of Neymar joining Liverpool.}

Shakhtar Donetsk star Willian cannot hide his ambition to play in the Premier League.

Liverpool and Chelsea are chasing the young Brazilian.

Willian told the Mirror: "The Premier League is really, really strong. That's why so many Brazilian players want to go there.

"The organisation of the League is something we all talk about. If you play a derby in England and you score the whole world will know. Also, the stadiums are full even when the big clubs are playing the smaller clubs in England.

"Its not the same in Brazil. If you have Sao Paolo v Corinthians or Corinthians v Palmeiras then yes, you are going to have a full house. But if one of those teams are playing one of the weaker teams then no, that's not the case. That's the difference."

He added: "It is flattering to hear teams such as Chelsea and Liverpool could be watching me.

"Every time I get the chance I watch Liverpool. They are a very important club and a lot of players would jump at the chance to play for them."

Heard that we have been in talks with Birmingham City for Dann for the last 2 days. They want 12m however we are looking for alternatives to lower the price down iv'e heard we could well reach a deal of £10m and Daniel Ayala on a season loan.

Aly Cissokho - From what i can gather we are not interested although he is a great young left-back we have 2 up and coming left-backs in Robinson and Brad Smith therefor we will be looking at an experienced left back to give Robinson and Smith time to improve and get experience under there belts.

Thanks.

eds do we have interest in park chu young he looks good, means we tap inot asian market too, , also dont standard chartered want us to sign an asian player to or something? {Ed009's Note - there is some interest in the player who issued a come and get me plea not so long ago, so certainly a chance. Personally I am not so sure a striker will be signed at all.}

Ed what is the situation with mata, hazard and honda at the moment? Do you think any of them could join {Ed009's Note - not much chance. We may have missed our chance for Honda in January when he was readily available. It is not the middle of the Russian season and they are looking for about 20 million. We failed to make a bid for Mata when there was seemingly a chance and Valencia have since come out saying he will stay. Hazard won't join.}

I haven't posted for a while as there has been lots of activity which I was not privvy to with my source being away on holiday recently.

My initial posts including the signings of both Adam and Downing although they dragged on longer than expected. The reasons they dragged on now pretty clear to everyone with Blackpool constantly changing their stance and inquiring about loan players and the structure of payment for the Downing deal. I could not have anticipated this as my source was pretty confident in the deals being completed that week but obviously these complications arose.

The following players are under consideration I am informed:

Enrique - still our number one target for LB but as I stated a while back, Newcastle are being obstructive in their valuation. If this deal is to be completed it will be late in the transfer window.

Cisskho - our focus has switched to him due to Newcastle's stance and £8m may be enough to secure a deal. We are presently in negotiation but a lot hinges on whether we can secure Enrique.

Dann - We are very much interested in Dann and would like to sign him. Again the fee is the subject of contention between the clubs with BFC asking for about £12m. Believe or not a CB is not a high priority and liverpool are prepared to wait on this one.

Mata - despite signing Downing, Liverpool are still very much interested in him and will move to secure his signature should other clubs put a bid in.

Aguero - Despite a lot of people still having major doubts on this signing including Ed. Aguero's agents have met Liverpool officials back in January when we considered a bid but AM would not negotiate then. We have been in regular dialogue and Commoli met with Aguero's agent in Madrid before the Copa America. Everyone may doubt it but the key thing to this deal is his age, his resale value and his commercial value. The feeling is he would more than recuperate the money in the same way as torres did when he arrived. Man City are the main threat however and the lure of high wages.

The Informant {Ed009's Note - Everything I've always said - we have a lot of views in common it seems. I still can't see Aguero signing though, and Mata is unlikely for me. Wouldn't mind you being right though!}

Hi ed,
Is there anything new on scott dann? also what do you think the chance of us signing him? I think he would be quality {Ed009's Note - no, nothing has changed for ages. We remain interested I think though and so if we act on that, I believe the chances of him joining are very high. Birmingham are willing to sell for the right price and he, of course being a scouser, is keen.}
