Hi Eds any idea if we are looking at the Russian League Welliton?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Welliton will be available at the right price but I don't see that Liverpool have any interest in him at this time. Dortmund were interested and a player exchange involving Lewandowski was thought possible in January, but that never happened. I know that there has been interest from Turkey but would suspect that an acceptable offer would see him move to England, Germany or Spain in preference.}

Evening Ed, can you confirm/ deny the amount of interest Liverpool have in Tello and also confirm/ deny if Barca have actually quoted us a price

Thank you
Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - I cannot easly quantify the amount of interest that Liverpool have in Tello but I am sure they would be one of many clubs interested in the player if he becomes available at the right price. I suspect there is speculation about the price rather than any word from Barcelona. If they have said anything to anyone, then perhaps Dumitrascu has coaxed a figure out of them and let it be known to the press. My understanding is that general enquiries about the player's availability have been made by Porto, Seville, Malaga and Liverpool - and these would have been made to his agents. Discussions about loans of one type or another have been discussed by Valencia, Ajax and Atletico Madrid - and seem to have now fallen on deaf ears at Barcelona. I also understand (as of Thursday afternoon) that Benfica have made a proposal to Barcelona - but I don't know what it is.}

Barcelona have agreed to sell Tello to Liverpool only if Liverpool pay the £7m asking price, not sure if Liverpool have agreed but time will tell.

Irish eyes

Hope so would be great .but think adam johnson should be our first signing pure class and would make a massive difference come get him now

They havent agreed to sell him to us they have only quoted us 7mil

I'd rip their arms off for £7m. (Not literally, obviously) Surely most of the clubs in Europe (who can afford it) would pay £7m for Tello. Unless they are insisting on a buy-back fee or something... that would be offputting to many clubs.

BJH YNWA

There would obviously be a buy back fee. They include it with nearly all the young players they sell now....

There is a reason he is cheap, he is not that good. Will be average at best. Reminds me of a young denis rommedahl.

Quoting us £7m is much the same as offering us Tello for that amount, they wouldn't give a quote if they did not intend to sell him.

Irish eyes

I agree irish eyes

Average at best - same as Adam Johnson, but half the price - sounds like a plan.

John B

No way .. its not that he is no good..its the same saga had with fabregas . n the thing one guy said a back transfer.

its obvious that he wont rank in the messi- villa lineup..so why not sell him to a club where he would be regularly playing at high level.
they know n somewhat true..like with fabregas who wanted to go back to barce . it was the same type deal with arsenal

Average at best, same as adam johnson?!?!

adam johnson is phenomenal

We must be careful not to bite their fingers when we snap their hands off!. Got to be a good deal if true but surely the offer will apply to many other clubs.It is not a lot of money by todays standards.

It's sad that people who don't have the first clue about football come on here casting aspersions on young players. is it because he will cost around £7million that he is being bracketed in the not-good-enough-for-us category?

We could go for an average championship player or a youngster who has featured in a lot of games for Barcelona this season, and who has the potential to become a fantastic star for a similar fee. Who would these so called fans rather have?

Christian Tello is sure to have a possible buy-back clause in any contract because he is very highly rated. Having actually watched him play it's easy to see why.

Just because some players are not highly rated on FIFA or football manager does not mean that they cannot play in the real world.

"There is a reason he is cheap, he is not that good. Will be average at best. Reminds me of a young denis rommedahl"

Insane...

Yes he is average. That's why himself and Isaac Cuenca were highly used towards the latter end of last season?! Do you watch football?

RuncornRed

Time will tello

Since when did adam johnson become phenomenal what has he done in hiis career to be called that he is a decent young player with attitude issues and a drink problem if he got his head down he could become very good but phenomenal never messi is phenomenal, redass

Ah average r u mad bet u aint even watched him play....this lad will be a star suprised barca wana sell like a few have said will be buy back clause in the deal....think its just to help the lad out and see him develop into the player he should but for that he needs regular footy, please brendan sign him even on loan for couple seasons will do

Adam johnson is ok tello is ko

Hi ed i read today that rodgers is only looking for 1 or 2 signings is it true or just rumours. And hw many signings u expect. AND do u think munian and soldado will leave clubs in this window. thanx great site. keep up the good work.

{Ed002's Note - I would expect three or four signings but much will be driven by Rodgers' assement of the players and who leaves. Soldado and Muniain may well move this summer.}

Ed002, ur my fave ed for many reasons, including your knowledge and humour, now when you say munian and soldado moving to Liverpool, is that you showing your humourous side or knowledgeable side?

Cheers

Ray {Ed002's Note - I didn't say anything about Soldado or Munian moving to Liverpool Ray - sorry.}

Ed Bilbao surely won't be looking at 40m euros for munain like previous times this will they? {Ed002's Note - They know that the best they can get is 20M euros and even that is proving to be high for Napoli.}

I like Henderson. He nice player. Captin for sure next season. Gerrerd to old sell him to Manchester for ££££

Ed surely lfc must be interested in muniain if his asking price is only 20m euros? {Ed002's Note - Only 20M euros?}

Ed lfc spent as much money on henderson last summer, they must be interested at that price? said they would pay a lot for young talent {Ed002's Note - There is no endless pot of money. Liverpool cannot be interested in every player who comes on to the market. Have you considered that some players may not have any interest in Liverpool?}

We dont need much of signings ,
two world class players , one forward and one out an out winger + suggrdson(spell?) will do..

.atlest for the start..n lets see how new style suits us. within few months we will have a better knowledge what we need. or say what he needs.
till that 2 signings are must . both need to be goal scorers though this is must. we LACK NATURAL FINISHERS . except suarez n SG there isnt any.

Would love rodgers if the two players we got were soldado and muniain

15 Jun 2012 13:47:51
i heard from a source here in denmark that we are in the run for javi martinez any truth in that ed? {Ed002's Note - None whatsoever.}

Unless you are part of the management structure or you are best friends with Rodgers you can't possibly know that!

has there been any interest in eriksen lately?
what is his most likely destination? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and AC Milan have shown an interest in Eriksen in the recent past. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. The Milan Press Office are convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expect a bid to be made by for Eriksen who remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for two more years before moving to Spain. Expect AC Milan and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United.}

Ed002, with United already sealed Kagawa, do u think they'll still go for Eriksen? not related to liverpool this question.

also, as long as im asking, how serious is Uniteds interest in Willems? thanks ed

Kaizer {Ed002's Note - For a number of months the Milan Press Office have been convinced of interest from Manchester United in Eriksen and they have let it be known that they expect a bid to be made by for the player - who remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for two more years before moving to Spain. Expect AC Milan and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United - but I rather doubt that it will be this summer.

Willems was known to have been watched by Manchester United at youth level at Sparta last year and again early this season. There was no interest expressed until perhaps March when they discussed options for the kid - such as staying in Holland for a year at PSV Eindhoven and fees etc..}

Thanks ed

Kaizer

Hope were not interested,have watched him at the euros and while he might be a good player it looks like hes not very physical and is afraid of tackles,possibly why he favours a move to italy or spain

Hye Eds..

Heard that Liverpool interested in Raul Garcia from Atletico Madrid. And he available for 8-9M. Is this rumor actually true?
He play for central mid right? Is he any good? Its hard to see highlights on him in youtube.

Bront'lfc

{Ed002's Note - See previous answer.}

And so it begins

Please dont carry on the trend of past managers buying players and play them out of position just because they have played somewhere else on the pitch before ie HENDERSON centre mid not right or left yes its good to be versatil but clearly wasted out wide then people moan about his performances etc

U cannot tell if a player is good from youtube clips mate, everyone can shine on youtube

15 Jun 2012 13:11:52
Looks like we have interest in Athletico madrid player Raul Garcia. Is this true eds or just another made up link. Michael {Ed002's Note - I don't know but I assume he would just be a squad player if there is interest.}

15 Jun 2012 12:34:05
Arsenal are signing quailty players and could be a spuprise next ýear and are currently interested in the Russian Alan dzagoev who is a top talent. I however believe and trust lfc will buy some estute and young talents.
ED, a question for you mate' PSG have bidded a world recoed for the good but not great thiago Silva of Milan. Obvoiusly the owners are willing to splash their cash,is there a chance they could bid over the 35million mark for Suarez of they other targets fail? I believe Psg could potentially',a long shot' have a big say in LFC's budget and players we sell.

The scout' {Ed002's Note - PSG are one of the clubs with a declared interest in Suarez. I would not think too much about the amounts involved.}

15 Jun 2012 12:24:01
Eds keep up the good work.

Just got 1 thing to ask.

Can we sign Alan Dzagoev?If so whats his salary?And how much should we bid for him? {Ed002's Note - Dzagoev has interested Chelsea in the past but Arsenal have shown a lot of interest this past year including sending a contingent to watch him play in Moscow back last summer. He will be available on a free transfer at the end of the year, not in the summer.}

People heard of dzagoev last week now they think liverpool should sign him, laughable...go back to playing subbuteo ..kiddies

Actually I was telling eds from a long time is there any chance for us to sign him but my post doesnot get posted {Ed005's Note - Oh boo hoo lets all sit down and have a cry. Seriously mate there are numerous answers regarding the player all over the boards and have been for donkeys so how about just searching his name in the search bar and getting your question answered that way? If you seen the amount of times we have to deal with posts about individual players every day you would understand why we ignore some. It would flood the boards with the same question for a start, and it is just annoying. In all seriousness since Dzagoev (sp) scored in the Euros we have received about 150-200 posts asking are we getting him. So try and show some consideration, and search for an answer that is already there. If not, feel free not to post again.}

15 Jun 2012 12:22:03
With Tito Vilanova coming are there any players that are now available at barca?

GuvTOB {Ed002's Note - Tello, Kieta, Cuenca.}

I would take ALL of these! Have we shown any interest?

Would love tello think he could be a great player plus he has the pace to play in premiership

Tito Villanova is not "coming", mate, he is already there.

Cuenca?!!!are we interested?
anfieldusa

Yeah I didn't read it back

GuvTOB

15 Jun 2012 12:09:43
Is Raul Albiol going to leavel R Madrid? I swear he never plays and consequently lost his place in the national team? Would he consider coming to England ?

Albiol himself wanted to leave for more playing time but Mou convinced him to stay. If he was to leave, it would of have been Valencia, his old club.

Great another overrated centerhalf. honestly are you not happy with skertl and agger ?

15 Jun 2012 12:11:30
Huntelar got 17m buy out clause.Is there likely to be any LFC interest with that news? {Ed002's Note - I would not over play the buy out clause. I understand he is open to hearing any offers made to Schalke, but they certainly do not want to sell as it is going well for him in Gelsenkirchen.}

Rumour has it that Aresnal have him lined up should RvP decide to grab money at Man City...

15 Jun 2012 12:09:56
Heard from a knowledgable ex player living in London that 2 deals are nearly done but need to wait for their respective to be out of euros conditions where agreed just need to sign on July 1st, was only told one of the players names and that was rasmus elm

Does this knowledgeable ex player know brendan rodgers ? if not means nothing

GET REAL

Plenty of people around the club that would know this info, not just the manager.

Sorry your right BR sits in a dark room on his own not telling anyone anything, it's a rumour site, not lets discredit everything everyone says

Hope not he lookes poop

15 Jun 2012 11:39:46
good sources told me that B.rodgers putting an offer for gonzalo higuain 25mill

Id find that believeable but wages would be an issue plus i would say we would need to do some convincing to bring him to anfield

Not a chance lol

Hope this is true

I think Real and Higuain himself said he wouldn't be leaving. He is a TOP-CLASS player. Exactly they kind of player we need now to get us an easy goal. Really tough to get him though.

Quality player would love it if this were true!

15 Jun 2012 11:31:58
morning eds, i hear skrtel could be on his way to man city for £16m, any truth? and if so who would you buy to replace him?

paul barry.aka.RAGS. Y.N.W.A {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of him moving to Manchester City, sorry. Try theis evening when Ed005 may be around - he seems to have discussed this. Mehdi Benatia would be a good replacement.}

I doubt it man city paid 25 for lescott or somthing daft so id want at least 30
Jaydee YNWA

How about Howedes?

We have a replacement called Sebastian Coates

Hummels is the name. But we're probably not gonna get him.. {Ed002's Note - Hummels is not an option.}

15 Jun 2012 11:31:13
hello eds, haven't heard much on Boudebouz lately but been hearing a lot of news on krasic.. was just wondering who we've shown the most interest in and who do you think would be likelier and a more realistic candidate to be wearing a liverpool shirt next season? cheers!

Dan.Red7. {Ed002's Note - It is very difficult to say who "most" interest has been shown in or who is the more likely to join. Liverpool have an interest in Krasic - along with a number of other clubs. Ryad Boudebouz will leave Sochaux with Real Betis and Lyon showing an interest. Way back in the day interest was shown by PSG, Spurs and Liverpool and certainly both made tentative enquiries. Lyon would seem to be the most likely destination right now although he is one of the two players that I understand Liverpool have recently asked to be kept informed of.}

Sorry ed you have prob already said but who is the other? {Ed002's Note - Elm.}

15 Jun 2012 11:00:09
hi eds, just wondering what the deal is with elia? would be really helpful if you could tell me all the clubs interested in him and if there is any chance of him joining us for next season? thankyou very much!

Dan.Red7. {Ed002's Note - Elia looked certain to move to Valencia a year ago with Liverpool and others considering the player too expensive. He decided to stay in Hamburg and then took the option of a move to Juventus over Newcastle - but it has not really worked out and Juve were willing for him to make a move on loan in January with, I expect, an option to buy. Everton, Hertha Berlin and Newcastle had apparently shown interest and his representatives were looking to place him in a northern European side where he would get a regular start but nothing came of it. He will be available this summer but the only firm interest right now is from Benfica and Genk although West Ham may try and lure him to London.}

15 Jun 2012 10:57:28
So eds, from what's been said on here, Sigurdsson and Krasic are the two most likely signings at the moment yes? {Ed002's Note - I could not say they are "most likely" but they are certainly options being considered.}

15 Jun 2012 10:19:52
Dave fallows and Barry hunter joining from citeh back room staff?! So echo saying, that true then?
Howcouldheplay {Ed002's Note - Certainly Fallows is joining and Hunter makes a lot of sense as he was at Reading with Rodgers.}

Hi Ed,

Do you think Fallow's and Hunter will become part of the 'transfer committee' that will discuss transfer targets for suitability before bid for them? Do you think this 'committee' will help prevent any more expensive mistakes or will it cause delays in the transfer market?

Thanks for your time.

JRG
{Ed002's Note - Of course, I would expect Fallows will be responsible for the entire scouting network and Hunter will take responsibility for one particular region. Perhaps, the UK or perhaps Northern Europe. I would not overplay this "transfer committee" - all it is really is that a number of people will have input to the process. Conceptually this is nothing new.}

Apologies in advance for my ignorance as I know very little about either person mentioned, but is this an improvement/positive action in the Ed's and other poster's opinion?

RDL {Ed002's Note - I don't know either personally but it is probably more of a rejigging. Certainly a couple of the scouting staff I saw last week knew changes were coming but were unclear what they were if if there would be any impact on them.}

15 Jun 2012 09:53:11
Hi Ed: I hear Kaka wants to leave Real Madrid. What's the chances of Liverpool making a move for him ?

Irish eyes {Ed002's Note - I really don't see it happening. Sorry.}

15 Jun 2012 09:50:06
Heard that liverpool are interested in Klaas-Jan Huntelaar

Klass-Jan Huntelaar could be a great option up front. Even more so now his manager has come out and said he has a release fee of £17 million!
RedRocket

I would say Klass-Jan Huntelaar is the best Dutch striker, but that would be Robin Van Persie of praise.

Jolly Red

I hope not he isnt actually that good

Ashtray on a moterbike kinda striker

15 Jun 2012 08:37:53
Hi Eds?
I'm a regular reader,but first time poster.
This is my only rumour site where i get right news.

Any chance of signing up:
-Victor Wanyama.
-Giovani Dos Santos.
-Eljero Elia.
-Gylfi Sigurdsson.
-Luuk De Jong.

Thx.

As a regular reader you will know the answer- use the search function.
Just helping Ed's

All of these have vouched as 'possible' targets and incomings and I really think all would improve us, not sure about Elia myself, he was great for a season or two and has been ok sinse but not currently a 'world beater'

As a regular reader surely you would know the answers?

Rob

Dos santos is rubbish why would we want him

Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Luuk De Jong`

Well pleased if we got them

McGurk

Dos santos? are you for real ?

15 Jun 2012 08:25:34
Has there been any interest in Adam or Downing? And what is the deal with Maxi? Is he staying or going? I hope he stays.

Cheers Eds

Rob {Ed002's Note - NOt that I am aware.}

I hope Maxi stays - the tail end of the 2010/11 season was like watching the dutch play total football - Maxi, Raul and Kuyt just behind Suarez, we were scoring 3/4 goals in some games, an most of them Maxi's!

I think downing should stay, im hoping h gets better and can see it.. but adam and maxi need to disappear

"I hope Maxi stays - the tail end of the 2010/11 season was like watching the dutch play total football - Maxi, Raul and Kuyt just behind Suarez, we were scoring 3/4 goals in some games, an most of them Maxi's!"

Really? In the last 2 months we had 3 good games - Chelsea 4-1, blackburn 3-2 and Norwich 3-0. That's in 2 months over 10 games - them results also counted for 10 of the 14 goals we scored since the turn of April, hardly like watching Dutch play total football!!

That was the 2011/2012 season and not 2010/2011 season we won those 3 games you said

If you read the post properly he said at the end of the 2010/11 season!
Wish people would read posts before jumping down other peoples throats!

15 Jun 2012 08:23:49
Musker LFC.
M'gladbach head scout Balkestein:"I expect Luuk De Jong to join BVB,succeeding Lewandowski.
He's their number one candidate".

Do you think,we are still the hottest favorite to clinch his signature,Eds?
Please answer?

Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Dortmund would be placed right now.}

Ed were is lewandowski going please dont say man u
thanks {Ed002's Note - Dortmund's Lewandowski has been watched by Liverpool, Rubin Kazan, Manchester United, Spartak Moscow (who are concerned about losing Welliton) and Lille. I very much suspect Bayern Munich would be top of the list with a cheque in hand should he not agree an extension at Dortmund but Dortmund certainly do not want to sell him to BM. The other more viable option is Manchester United. At present they have been unable to reach agreement over a new deal but that does not mean that they won't.}

15 Jun 2012 08:14:28
Not a Liverpool rumour,just interested me,psg are in talks about signing lukaku,'
Have you eds heard this?
{Ed002's Note - No. Lukaku wants to go out on loan and that may be the best thing for him.}

I thought Lukaku was going on loan for tge season as part of the Marin deal? {Ed002's Note - No - there are a number of clubs interested (one of which is Werder Bremen) but no decision has been taken yet.}

Why have him anyway. we spent 35 million on carroll and we will stick with him.

15 Jun 2012 06:36:23
Hi Eds,
thanks for this lovely rumor site.

I expected these players out :-
Aquilani - 3-4M
Joe Cole - 3-4M
Maxi - 2-3M
Pacheco - 1M
Jay Spearing - loan.
POulsen - free
TOTAL = 12M

1) Gylfi looks like a done deal.Are we signing him for 6.8M just like Swansea or Hoffenheim might up his price?

2) Krasic for 6M seem like a very good deal. Heard that we already begin talk with his agent? Is this true?

3)Is it true B.Rodgers interested in signing Kalou & Christian Tello?

Thanks for the answers..

Mobarak'lfc {Ed005's Note - 1. I would imagine so 2. There is interest there but how far it has progressed is unknown 3. There is definate interest in Tello again how serious is unknown especially considering he was scouted during Dalglish's tenure here. Kalou - in all honesty nothing suggests to me there is apart from agent talk.}

First of all Poulsen has gone {Ed002's Note - Liverpool are still paying his wages through to the end of this month.}

If you could add Adam, Henderson and Downing to that list to gain an extra £20m, that would be perfect, Rodgers needs a decent kitty.

As long as we dont get kalou i reckon them players would boost the team massively.

1 mil for pacheco, i think wed have to pay them that to ship him out

This keeps coming up on here so I'm hopeing somebody can explain the logic to me, possibly Ed 002 who is not biased by scouse tinted glasses.
I keep seeing loan Spearing and sell Henderson. Henderson only turns 22 on Sunday whilst Spearing will be 24 in november (5 months), after just one season Henderson has almost equalled spearings games total for LFC and has far mor premiership matches and league matches under his belt. And despite been often played out of position has been called up to the England squad. I'm open to any resonable explanation?
RNred {Ed002's Note - Firstly, the manager will want to take a look at everyone and assess whether or not he sees them as having a future at the club under him. If they don't then perhaps a loan is an option for the younger players to gain experience. If there are established players that look like they need to be replaced I would imagine that he would go to the board and explain what he wants (x out and y or z in). Spearing strikes me as a valuable squad member and I have never heard of attitude problems if he is asked to sit on the bench or just be a member of the squad. Henderson was bought for the future and regardless of whether the transfer fee was too high or not; he has started to show some of the much expected promise. But it has taken time and at the highest level of the game there simply is not time available to settle.

I would think that many of the issues from last year were attributable to too many players arriving at one go – and, to be honest, the players not being good enough to be able to adapt and settle quickly.

All too often the wish lists of fans include only players without any consideration of cultural or language issues, how they would fit in with the other players, the role they would play in the squad etc.. And all too often the fans forget those coming up through the reserves – not just the exciting players like Suso and Sterling, but those like Kelly, Robinson and Flanagan who play the less popular, but critical, mundane roles. Folks head towards demanding the owners buy some guy who may not speak English and may not be eligible for a work permit because he has had a decent game at the Euros rather than opting for one of the youngsters to come through.

Unless Henderson is a sure-fire no-fit under Rodgers I would expect him to stay. Spearing – it is hard to see him not staying as a squad player. Rodgers is a nice guy and he is straight forward – or they are not going to be part of his plans they will be told.}

Wouldnt consider letting henderson go such potential just needs to find his feet in big club and hell ne flying

The only reason lots of fans see any use in Spearing is because he is scouse. For some, the fact he cannot play the game is irrelevant. Henderson is twice the player and has ten times the potential.

Morning eds and all,

Sly sports reporting this morning that Kolarov of Manchester City is seeking more first team football.

If we are to persist with Carroll (which I think we should) is he an option? He has a very good left footed cross, and superb deliveries on free kicks.

I do like Enrique but the one criticism I have of him is that when he gets in a good position to cross, he doesn't, and that does not help big Andy at all.

Wondering whether Kolarov's fee and wages would be too high? And whether u personally feel he would be an improvement on Enrique?

Cheers

Tom in Wolves {Ed002's Note - I suspect he is looking for a move to Italy if anywhere.}

Hey fool we r gunna play total football under rodgers so big andy nd crosses for him can go to hell

I read up somewhere i think, he said money is not a problem, he just wants first team football (well i admit we cant really trust them when they speak) but anyhow, if we're to loan out robinson, n find another left-back for the mean time, kolarov is not that bad.

Kaizer

Enrique doesn't cross because he was told not to

Eds, great knowledge!
What are the chances of Hummels? Much better than Skyrtle! He's great on the ball and reads the game. Skyrtle looks like a liability when he's not paired withomeone decent. Hummels in... Skyrtle out or me!
JT {Ed002's Note - No chance of Hummels after he signed a new deal with Dortmund.}

How you form that opinion of Skrtle I don't know. He was excellent last season. Admittedly playing alongside Agger helps but it would be a shame to split up that partnership.
CR

Who is this skyrtle? is he half sky half turtle?

Hahhaa, goddamnit thats a very good one, about the skyrtle.

Kaizer

I actually agree skrtel is a bit of a liability, granted he played great but goals that went in were his fault or reinas.

Call your self a fan but then you abuse one of are best players last season and dream of unrealistic signings. some people on this site are just a waste of life

You are clearly not a liverpool fan. For a start you can't even spell Skrtel's name right. And secondly he was our player of the season so why are you saying that we should get rid of him.

YNWA

Thank you Ed's for all the great work
Ed do you think we will replace the likes of Spearing, Johnson, Aqualani, Cole, Kuyt, Aurelio, Carra if/when they leave/retire or would it be more likely to give players like Jonjo, Suso, Sterling, Coady and Wisdom a chance in the squad?

{Ed005's Note - To be honest, like for like, no. I think for Kuyt we will sign someone for the wide positions and up front. Sigurdsson looks a done deal and that should compensate for Cole possibly leaving. If Johnson goes I can see a replacement being sought out and hopefully when Spearing goes we'll sign a midfielder.}

There is no way on earth Wayama is goin to sign for liverpool... i bet my live... i saying this because his elder brother Mariga was NOT granted work permit when Man city wanted to sign him.. this is because of the FIFA ranking of Kenya which is low. trust me I am from kenya and i know what i am saying. so please this rumors

Guys say thanks to our Kenyan scout.

He got a permit for playing at Celtic surly. So that permit should cover playing for Liverpool. If it happens, I'm pretty sure he won't sign due to the fact he isn't all that good not his permit.

But you know this and you've bet your life so for your sake I hope you're right.

Rob

Well people opposing me.. could you please do you research on this. Is Mariga Wanyama brother? Was Man city about to sign Mariga? Why Mariga deal not go through? and is Mariga a Kenyan..
Please answer this questions and then see what you come up with

To play for Celtic he must have been granted a British work permit, which would mean he can play anywhere in Britain, so in essence he already has a permit to play for us, although a seperate application would need to be made for him to play for a different club, but the precedent is there.
Now, would you prefer a length of rope or a sharp blade? Dont be so giving with your life my friend.

Anfield Andy

Im sorry, but how do i please this rumor?

Hi ed's apologies if you've covered this recently but whats your opinion on Skrtel?

Has his head been turned or is it all a load of waffle? If so who's the interested party?

His form was excellent last season and 27ish is peak age but I wouldn't cry too much if we got someone like Hummels. {Ed005's Note - His head has been turned by Man City - not only are they champions, but they are in the CL, can offer higher wages and obviously playing with some top players is a draw. For me, the only thing we can really say to Skrtel is that we are building and can guarantee first-team football whereas maybe that isn't the case at City. One thing I will say is that although he is individually a great defender, without Agger he looks exposed. I'm personally more happy it is Skrtel and not Agger who is attracting such strong interest.}

Couldnt agree with the ed more, skertle is no nonsense defender but he needs someone alongside him to do the thinking. I'm not say he's a bad defender but for me our season went wrong when we lost agger, we started conceding goals where as before aggers injury we were pretty sure at the back. I don't think skertle would walk in to any team playing in the champions league he would have to play out of his skin to get a starting role.

Yes edd when I first heard "city looking at reds defender" I thought it would be agger. So if Skrtel were to leave what sort of money would we be looking at fro him? Also do you think we could replace him with vertongen now his move to spurs looks like it's off?

Benzo {Ed005's Note - I think Vertonghen will still sign for Tottenham personally. If Skrtel goes I can see us getting a good £12-15m for him. Who we will go for? Unknown really, but we do have Kelly, Coates and Carragher still.}

Agger is forever injured, but I wouldn't want to lose either.

If Skrtel wants to go to City we should use this to our advantage and ask for 2 of Richards, De Jong amd Johnson in exchange/ While Skrtel is a class defender he can be replaced, as Ed said Agger's the main man

Ed, don't be surprised if Agger's head gets turned as well by another CL club.... like Barca.

They are also on the lookout for a CB and their eyes are already on Agger.

Ed, there is a great possibility we might lose our CB pairing before the start of next season, so we better start looking for a replacement pair from as early as now.

If PSG are bidding Eur46m for Thiago Silva lets hope they make a ridonculous offer for Skrtel. If he does go anywhere i think Coates has shown enough to suggest he can step up. Otherwise i like Rami or Kjaer

Dont think anyone will risk it on Agger until, hes great but whoever he plays for knows he going to be injured for 1/4 of a season minimuim. Its not his fault its just the way some people are built and id still keep him hes by far our best defender.

Yeah but aggers injury prone whereas skrtel isnt.

It is a bad precedent if we constantly let good players go (especially to our Premier league rivals) - how can we possibly expect to create a team/squad that can be built upto challenge for major honours if we are unable to hold onto the strongest squad members? If he hands in a transfer request and we are made a substantial offer we don't really have much choice but it would be very indicative of the level our club is sitting at the moment.

SMc

I'm sure Rodgers was aware of this situation with the CB's before he signed.

Agger makes him look good plus he is getting to the age were we could get money for him and replace with a younger better cb

Sell him and milk Citeh for all they are worth.
Turtle had a good season but he is nevertheless prone to some shocking errors of judgement.
I like the player, but if he can attract a good cash value sell him and get someone who can mix brawn with decent football ability.

Don't hold your breath ed, Agger has put the team on his back and is singlehandedly keeping denmark in the tournament. This Euros might be the best i have ever seen him play.

DeJong ,Johnson Richards
£30 -35 Million
Skrtel £15-£18 Million
I would bite there hand of for that deal
Coates as cover its a no brainer .

I think we should sign ernando manuel fernandez of indinos B. he is only 15 and already makes their team. greetings from mexico.

Ed005, what are you on? Skrtel was our player of the season...by a country mile as well. He's the one who makes Agger look good by doing all the nitty gritty and the proper defending. The Premiership is a tough relentless league, week in week out, Skrtel is a class act in this league. Why is it that the flash players get all the praise. There's a reason why City want him over Agger, and it's because they know a player when they see one, whereas apparently half the people on this site don't.

David {Ed005's Note - As I said I think Skrtel is a great defender and I would be sad to see him leave Liverpool but I personally think a steady partnership and the presence of Agger beside him has been a massive factor to him playing so well. When Agger got injured this season Skrtel looked very much exposed and didn't seem quite as comfortable. Individually a great defender but I personally rate Agger higher and I think his performances against some good opposition at the European Championships has displayed his great ability. Again, I acknowledge Skrtel as a great defender.}

Whats your opion on Krasic ed's? do you think he'd be a decent addition or another let down like downing?
CJHred {Ed005's Note - As you may well know I've spoken out in opposition to Kalou coming but, Krasic is a different matter. Krasic is a player I like a lot and I think he's what we've needed for a while now. He's quick, he works hard, he has a good end product and technically he looks very good to me. One thing I like about him also is his ability to read the game, when he gets out wide one thing I notice is that he doesn't just fire it in, he looks for a player, anticipates runs much of the time. I really like him, and for £6m it would be a nice bit of shrewd business. £6m for him and £6.8m for Sigurdsson - I think a £12.8m well spent - better spent than the near £30m we invested in Downing and Adam.}

Appreciate your opinion ed 5.

I disagree about him working hard Ed - every time I've seen him he looks lazy and doesn't track back.

Kieran

Couldn't agree more Ed's, and they're exciting signings too, something we've been lacking for a couple of seasons.

Id still love ramirez or munian as these players will fire us into the top 4 plus a really top striker

But ed was he not dropped from juve for not working hard enough ? {Ed005's Note - I haven't followed Serie A as much as I ususally do mate so I don't really know the situation with Krasic but I have watched him on the international stage and a few times for Juve and to me, he always seems to be moving around and trying to make space for himself or draw defenders out - something we've lacked this year. Krasic isn't world class in my eyes - but he is a very good winger and a massive improvement on what we had last year, and in previous years.}

everytime i post it never get posted hopefully this is posted eds are we close to signing krasic please answer
thanks lfc-liq {Ed002's Note - Perhaps because you are asking a question that has been answered on several occasions today already. Juventus will be open to offers for Krasic and Joksimovic has been trying to get as many clubs as possible interested including Lazio, Liverpool and Spurs - and he has had success with all three showing interest. Borussia Dortmund, Marseille, West Ham, Villarreal, Sevilla, Zenit St Petersburg, Fenerbahce and Anzhi Makhachkala have a confirmed interest in the player although I suspect Dortmund will drop their interest. Liverpool and Fenerbahce strike me as the most likely destinations for him right now.}

Probably gets posted, but in the banter section due to what you're posting

Eds there was talk that Pablo Armero's representitives were at one of last seasons away games discussing a potential move for the player, has their been anymore light on the subject ? Or with Kenny leaving have we lost interesting?

Thanks Peter {Ed002's Note - AC Milan have shown a great deal of interest in Armero but there is also some interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, Spurs, Juventus and Fiorentina. Right now I think Napoli remain well placed for a deal to be completed.}

South Americans and Napoli - Must be a match made in heaven. Has had some pretty obvious results throughout history.
