Ed002 i heard a rumour that we are scouting Facundo Ferreyra, is there any truth in this? {Ed002's Note - Weirdly enough I was asked about him by someone else last night. Velez Sarsfield's Facundo Ferreyra has attracted the attentions of Juventus, Catania and Inter Milan this season with Inter making several alternate proposals to take the player to Italy including a part ownership agreement. Inter are actively looking to force the transfer by making a recent offer to Banfield to purchase outright their 50% share of the player.}

Hi eds i have heard it is very unlikely he will come to us due to work permit issues {Ed002's Note - Not because Liverpool have shown no interest then?}

Feghouli, Sturridge and Jeffren will sign, while Cole and Pacheco will leave. Downing and Henderson are possible departures.

Downing will leave I believe but Henderson will defiently stay

^ I would say, Downing MUST leave and Hendo is staying. I mean, Hendo is not bad right?

I agree Downing must go even though he has slightly improved recently. I believe henderson deserves more of a chance and dont feel he will go just yet. Cole i feel has also improved but i think his high wages are what we are more inclined to be rid of, its a shame as i feel he could offer us something still.

No he Henderson wont leave

Has the interest in Hooper ended? {Ed002's Note - Ceratinly quiet.}

From a scot who is a Liverpool fan, I HOPE SO.

I red in the newspaper he is going nowhere in january because Celtic is still in the CL. Also Wanyama will not be sold in january.

Hi Eds! Happy Holidays to all of you! Thank you for keeping us all entertained! I would like to know your opinion of Burak Yilmaz. He is a realistic target and a goal machine! Is he on our list of targets? I think he would fit into the system and could provide a real threat in front of goal. Any chance for him?

Vinny the Red {Ed002's Note - Burak Yilmaz has attracted interest in the past nine months from Sevilla, Spurs, Fulham, Dortmund, Beyer Leverkusen and Newcastle. There are also unconfirmed rumours of interest from Liverpool dating from as long ago as early June. Lazio and Lokomotiv Moscow have both spoken with the player after the clubs agreed that they would meet the asking price from Galatasaray - but I would think that has now risen with his recent performances. Atletico Madrid are very keen to discuss a move for the player but I suspect that a move before the summer is looking unlikely.}

Hey eds, people on here keep saying sturridge and ince are done deals. Is that official or is that them just stating their opinions? Thanks

Mike {Ed002's Note - Nothing is official just yet.}

Suarez will be going as will pep agger and sterling
my team are just a mid table team now
thats all rodger the dodger can offer us

Post above. You sound like a doomsayer, if them players signed and scored you'd think they were brilliant.

Hello EDS
If we do sign ince, what will he bring sterling doesnt, even assiadi in under the impression that we need a more experienced winger, such as a Pablo Hernandez not a Tom ince.

Scouse Ben {Ed002's Note - Maybe it won't happen and you will be happy. Pablo will not be moving to Liverpool in January.}

I think the main reason for the imminent arrival of Tom Ince is that we will be able to give Sterling a deserved rest as they are both very similar in style of play.

BigD

"If we do sign ince, what will he bring sterling doesnt" Answer: a signed contract

I think he is also expected to bring goals which sterling hasnt done on a regular basis

After re thinking our options and looking at what we need I have to say I've changed my opinion and now hope we get Huntelaar
I know he's been mentioned a lot and Ed002 considered him a possibility is that still the case or is he set for somewhere else?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - The situation remains that Schalke certainly do not want to sell Huntelaar as it is going very well for him in Gelsenkirchen and they want him to sign a two year extension to his contract - and he wants to only sign for a further year. However, Schalke said that they would likely sell if he refuses to agree any contract extension, and he hasn't - although that threat was there in the summer and they didn't sell. Fiorentina, Juventus, CSKA and Atletico Madrid have shown an interest with a return to Inter Milan, Napoli and Lazio also appearing as possible destinations if he were to move in January. Additionally, several EPL sides are still looking for a striker: Arsenal (although they have other clear targets, he is certainly being considered and they look a very viable option), Chelsea (again he is by no means near the top of the shopping list but could be attractive to the club as a second striker) Spurs and Liverpool - both of which are interested in Huntelaar at the right price, but I fear that they are not the most attractive of options that Huntelaar has available. Both clubs seem aware of this and are looking elsewhere. There is a valuation based on a buy out clause of 20M euros that Schalke might want to try and exercise, but even with several interested parties it seems very unlikely that they could attain such a fee. The player himself could opt to sign a new deal, sign a pre-contract with a non-German side or run down his contract and seek a hefty signing on fee in the summer.}

Thanks Ed002 looks like we're going to have to settle for Sturridge then

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - There has been clear interest in Huntelaar but he has some quite attractive options.}

Ed002 do you think we could go for sturridge and an out an out striker as sturridge plays more from the right. I find it hard to believe we have sturridge as an alternative to KJH as they are totally different types of player? maybe Ba or negredo are more similar to huntelaar {Ed002's Note - It is possible of course but the type of play the Rodgers seems to be looking to does not seem to need the old fashioned "target" player but more adaptable players.}

Bit of a funny one this is? It seems arsenal would appear favourites to sign hunterlaar? I'm told he does fancy a spurs move due to him talking to van der vaart! Although it appears spurs have other targets! Liverpool appear to be of no interest to the player! Walcott I believe will sign a contract with arsenal and sturridge remains a very very possible target for liverpool

Huntelaar wants a move to Italy and will only move to England if Inter cannot agree a fee with Schalke, so i say hes not for us. Billy Mc.

H i eds any chance Liverpool may make a move for Marin of Chelsea?
He has hardly played all season and since there has been links to Sturridge thought he may be worth an enquiry.
He would come reasonbably cheap is still young and has the ability to beat players and has got to be better than Downing. {Ed002's Note - He has not played much because he has been injured. I cannot see the rationale about there being interest in Sturridge so there might be in Marin at all. Sorry.}

Marin wont go out on loan!

I think he is saying whilst they are talking to Chelsea an enquiry for Marin could be made.
No one would imply coz we are talking to Barca about Tello that we are after Messi i think u have problems reading. {Ed002's Note - Why would Liverpool do that when they have shown no interest in Marin? And Liverpool are not talking to Barcelona about Tello. And what is the point of the dig at the end of the post?}

Hi eds, how reliable are Spanish paper AS? They're claiming that Liverpool will bid for David Villa in the summer & he's quite keen. Guessing it's rubbish? {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off. Does a very expensive 30 something who has never wanted to play outside of Spain sound a likely target?}

16 Dec 2012 15:03:02
Hi eds, it is well known that Arda Turan is a Liverpool fan. He even bought a liverpool t-shirt with Sahin on the back. He also said that he wants to leave Atletico at the end of the season. Knowing this, do you think it is possible to get him in the Summer? Obviously, he will be a 30 million pound player but his qualities are definitely worthy of that. I know that January is too soon but would you say he is a possibility?

BthekingB {Ed002's Note - It is really too early to say what will happen in the summer and Arda will not be sold for £30M.}

Its not sanchez we want D.Villa who is open to the idea of playing for liverpool alongside his close friend Pepe.

remember when we were linked with a loan move for kaka then it turned out to be sahin it's the same situation but we are looking to buy.

Thought pepe was a goalkeeper,not a forward

R U allowed 2 Goalies now??

If the rumours are true about Sturridge, Ince and Alexis Sanchez(loan). I'll be a very happy lad come February. I know I've got MOTD fever here, but have we ever looked at Pilkington? {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath about Sanchez. Pilkington was discussed a while back so a search might find something - I have nothing on it.}

Look Pilkington is playing well for Norwich. That dosen't mean he is a Liverpool player?

Has Martin Kelly rejected a new deal ? Anyone shed some light

No Martin Kelly is Liverpool through and through.

The Times are reporting that he has rejected an offer, more to do with the money side of things I believe ? Somebody else might have more of an insight...

Prefer wisdom anyway, i say sell him!

How an earth is Andre Wisdom better than Martin Kelly.Kelly has been in the team much longer than Wisdom

Sell Kelly have a word with yourself lad

I would imagine it's very unlikely to be true. It's probably his agents way of getting them to offer him a new contract.

I thought he signed a new deal when Kenny was manager when Roy got sacked?

Hi Eds, just to let you know what Corriere dello Sport are reporting this morning and wondered if liverpool would be interested:

Liverpool will be watching with interest the developments of Mauro Zarate's situation at Lazio. The Serie A side haven't hidden away from the fact that they want to offload the player in the January transfer window but last night's scenes will give the club more reason to find a new club for Liverpool's long term target.

Corriere dello Sport revealed that the Argentine forward had been selected for the squad to face Inter Milan in last night's league match in Rome but he refused to turn up, preferring to stay at home. It has been reported that he left the stadium after learning that he would start from the bench and that he declined to return when the club contacted him.

It is now believed that his relationship with Lazio manager Vladimir Petkovi is now at an all time low and the newspaper says he is 'finished' at the club, 'completely out of Lazio', and that there is no way back for the 25 year old at the club. They are keen to sell him in the next transfer window but they must find a side that is willing to meet his €2m salary. The former Birmingham City forward has expressed his desire to return to England so Lazio will be hoping that Liverpool can take him off their hands. There have been offers from Russia but the player has refused to consider them.

Fan site La Lazio Siamo Noi last month revealed that Liverpool have again been linked with the forward. His agent Luis Ruzzi had flown to London with regards to discussing possible offers for his client. It is believed that the agent spent a couple of days in the country in order to sort out the future of the player and that he met with Liverpool representatives.

Only a couple of seasons ago Liverpool were considering putting in a €17 million bid for the forward so that they could partner him with Fernando Torres but nothing materialised. His value has since dropped hugely and Lazio would accept around €10 million for him in January, given what happened yesterday they may even be prepared to sell him for less.

Thanks eds :)

He sounds like trouble. {Ed002's Note - Certainly a number of clubs have looked at Zarate in the past including Liverpool, Stoke, Spurs, Arsenal, Rubin Kazam, Spartak Moscow, Lille and Malaga. Certainly Lazio would like to be rid of the player would be willing to sell as he has neither settled nor performed well since his arrival. Given his less than good recent form he strikes me as an odd choice if there is current interest from Liverpool.}

Hes only five foot tall. god help us

"His agent Luis Ruzzi had flown to London with regards to discussing possible offers for his client."

See the word "London"? I never knew that Liverpool Football Club is in London.

Sorry mate just posting what I read, I think you'll find that many a transfer is concluded in London weather you like that or not, you would be very surprised to know how many meeting rooms within city banks HQ are booked out to football clubs, it's easy to finance transfers from within :)

Liverpool should bite lazios hands off 10M euro. I fancied him when he was at birmingham and they said people may be put off by his 2million wages? im guessing thats his yearly wages? if we've been paying Joe Cole 90grand a week i'm sure we can afford 40grand a week for him

Rumours are circulating this morning that we are looking at Burak Yilmaz from Galatasary. Do you think Eds that there's anything in these rumours or is it paper talk? Great work on the site. I read it every day. {Ed002's Note - Burak Yilmaz has attracted interest in the past nine months from Sevilla, Spurs, Fulham, Dortmund, Beyer Leverkusen and Newcastle. There are also unconfirmed rumours of interest from Liverpool dating from as long ago as early June. Lazio and Lokomotiv Moscow have both spoken with the player after the clubs agreed that they would meet the asking price from Galatasaray - but I would think that has now risen with his recent performances. Any clubs interested in alberto costa of valencia? Seen him play and looks like just what we need. Good on the ball with a good eye for the killer pass. Also brilliant from set plays and free kicks. {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest in Valencia's Tino Costa but I guess there might be a club in France who could look to move for him. A move to England would likely not be possible.}

Hi Eds,

Todasy online rumour is Munoz of palermo will be subject to a bid in january.?

True?

Billy {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any Liverpool interest in Munoz but obtaining a work permit might not be easy and Palermo would, I doubt, want to sell.}

16 Dec 2012 08:20:40
Eds,

A report coming out of spain that Liverpool want Feghouli.

I have only seen the lad play a few times but remember once, he was touted as the next Zidane.

Any truth in interest from Liverpool?

J {Ed002's Note - Valencia's Sofiane Feghouli is stalling on signing a new contract whilst his agents scurry around looking for interest in the player as leverage or as an alternative to Valencia should he be sold. A number of high-profile clubs have been approached to see if they would be interested in the player but it would be nothing but speculation on my part to suggest interest of not. However, Paris Saint-Germain has made more than one approach for the player and Valencia has set a deadline of his departure for the ACON to resolve the matter.}

Dear eds is there any truth in the andre granqvist rumours. Looking at our defence yesterday we may well need a new centre back. {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any Liverpool interest in Genoa's Granqvist at this time.}

We don't need CB, we need striking power asap.

Our defensive problems yesterday were mainly tactical( 2 cb's v 2 strikers is bound to be a problem) but it is true that our midfield players Lucas and Allen were never in the right place at the right time and did not help defensively.
CR

We dont need a new CB....we need a creative midfielder and striker who can put the ball in the net. If you watched yesterday's game you'll have seen that we were on top early on but had no cutting edge to make it count and then ultimately paid the price as the game went on. That, coupled with the fact we got a little ahead of ourselves talking about 4th (and possibly 3rd) on the back of the West Ham win (where we were average for long spells until Diame went off injured) was the reason we were beaten yesterday. We got no more than we deserved yesterday and credit to Paul Lambert and Aston Villa for kicking us back down to earth.

The player just signed a new contract earlier this year.
