Eds. if you've got a minute -

With the articles being written about Dortmund "warning" Liverpool off Pulisic, should we believe that there's fire with the smoke, as in we are keen and trying to bring him in in January?

And if so, should these "warnings" be interpreted as posturing for a better price, or is there actually no chance they will sell?

Personally I think he'd be a great addition!

Thanks!

{Ed001's Note - there is no chance they will let him go for anything other than an obscenely large price in January.}

Then we should stear clear imo, surely Klopp understands what they have said ed and that it will take an obscene amount of money. Better off not wasting time in trying?

{Ed001's Note - that won't stop the bull in the papers though will it?}

I wouldn't be surpirsed if the club spends close to £30 mill on him. Which player did we sign on cheap recently? Wijnamldum, Mane, Firmino. He is an American and would certainly interest the owners. The most important part, He is an exciting player. I am convinced the club would make an attempt to buy him eithe in Jan or Summer.

{Ed001's Note - £30m is highly unlikely to sign him.}

I am pretty sure we would buy one Winger / wide forward either in Jan or Summer. The kid is young and knows our interest. I am pretty optimistic the club would try to sign him. I can't see another cheap option out there which would excite Mr Klopp.

There must be other options out there Harry. If his club don't want to sell him meaning we will have to pay crazy money then other options must be explored.

I put something up a few weeks back about this desire to sign a wide player during this window, its evident that Klopp wants to strengthen this area.

Player wise isn't Draxler having a bad time in wolfsburg at the moment could this not be an option looked at by the club?

How has Sisto done since his move to La Liga liked him for FC Mit?

Daxler isn't the right player and He would end up at Arsenal. Brandt is a good shout but I guess we will end up with Pulisc.

We won't get Pulisic in Jan thought that's the point I was making unless like others have said we pay stupid money. So what is left available as we can pretty much be sure Klopp wants to add a wide player in Jan.

No doubt he could pluck a player from the bundesliga that we have not had banded about as yet.

I put Draxler out there as it appears he may well be available and has quality. Brandt is excellent but if the release clause does not exist then it will be hard to get him away.

I wonder will the Milan clubs persist with any interest the media claims to be there for Sakho.

They warning Liverpool not to waste their time with moneyball or lowball tactics.

Didn't see the logic behind Klopps statements on needing a winger/ attacker. Wing is where you give a young attacking player his chance, we have a couple of them. Pulisic might be seen as an extreme talent, worth getting at (almost) any cost, but it all seems strange. That said, with Couts, Sturridge, Can and Ings injured the bench haven't looked impressive to say the least. So there's an argument to buy.

But JK is far to clever and careful with money to do that. I think he is signing a winger in january not as cover for Mané, or injuries but to give the new player time to adjust for next season, when there will be European games and we'll surely need more depth.

ojo has been promised game time, how will he take the news that another winger is coming in?, will Wilson consider his options?
I don't know if the kids are good enough but why spend bucket loads on someone else's child when we have 3 of our own to look after.

maybe this talk of signing a wideman, is one way of taking the pressure off Ojo, he is very close to full fitness, and being on the subs bench very soon .

I think the important thing is, does Pulisic want to come and is he for the move or egging for it? We seen Klopp abandon moves for Gotze and Zielinski because they were not pushing for the move here.

I think one of the Eds was very high on Max Meyer, have we looked at him as an option this window? I know Schalke don't sell cheap though.

Matip on a free is the deal of the season.

When you consider what we paid for Lovren.

This is all speculation so let`s all wait and see what happens as Ojo is the one penciled down to get game time when Mane is off to ACN. As for Pulisic, it is a nothing burger as he is not willing to sign, BVB won`t sell in Jan neither will they sell in the summer, IMO. Why? He won`t start ahead of our front three when all are fit so that would be 35m or so wasted and what happens to Woodburn, Ojo and Wilson? Exactly, it seems like people just want signings without analysing the impact on the field, financially and the like. It`s this type of thinking that got us Markovic who was and never will be a PL player as he was never ready for it.

We've got talent as good as pulsic on our bench and in u23s.

Last night game watching mane
Showed me how badly he will be missed

The way his pace opens up teams as he moves into the middle

I think he is so so vital as if you change that person to someone who is more technical and less paced - I don't think the attack will be anywhere near as good

So guys what do you think? January for a pacey winger who likes to get in the box?

Believable2 Unbelievable9

Smart idea, Lobster - 25-30 million should cover a pacey winger on a three week fixed term contract.
Im sure John Henry and co wouldn't mind.

I guess in an ideal world we'd have a squad deep enough to replace mane and not be so negatively impacted by his absence. We aren't there yet but I hope we just stick with what we have, unless there are plans to add wingerd to the squad anyways and that target is available / attainable in january then go for it. Otherwise keep oir money where it is and throw ojo or wilson into the fire! Mind you by then couts and studge should hopefully be available too.

16 Dec 2016 07:46:46
Cou should be back so throw origi on the right for mane and cou, Adam and rob as the other front players. No problem 😊 for 4 games anyway!

16 Dec 2016 08:19:51
Mane will be missed. we have no like to like players. Pace, power and end product. what more you want from a winger.

Agree2 Disagree1

16 Dec 2016 10:32:27
He'll be missed but expect a origi/ counts/ firmino front three or Ojo to be given a shot (and maybe woodburn or Wilson off the bench) and we will be fine.

16 Dec 2016 14:24:17
Ojo and Woodburn have the pace.

17 Dec 2016 15:14:32
We will be fine and if we sign someone which I doubt we will, it will be for the long term, not to cover for a 4 week hiatus. That is senseless.
