hi eds reds I've been readingabout a lot of players, linked to us or not. one, which I haven't seen mentioned linking to us, and who was very strong a while ago is steven defour.also at porto with a target of ours, so I read, fernando? could the two be a possibility? I agree with others who have said we are going for very good, international players, just that they aren't holding down a regular place at there present club, ie sako-sturridge-coutiniho. I wpuld say richards at man city fits into this criterea. any news on players similar? thanks steviep62.

{Ed002's Note - There has been a little twist to the saga of Fernando. Fernando has recently become a Portuguese citizen and is desperately looking to force his way in to either national side in time for the World Cup. Whilst a move to Italy where Napoli and Fiorentina remain keen is possible, the signing on fee asked of Fiorentina has come as a real shock to them and Inter dropped their interest when made aware of teh fee. A number of other clubs have declared an interest and certainly Everton is one but I really don't know of confirmed interest from Liverpool - but it would make some sense. Porto would like to keep him if a deal can be agreed - and that might be back on the table now his citizenship has been confirmed.

I am not aware of any interest in Defour from Liverpool although there is interest from elsewhere.}

I did read that Aston Villa wanted Belgium midfielder Steven Defour. Not sure if it was true or not though.

{Ed002's Note - True.}

Hey eds, with Southampton in apparent turmoil, do we have any interest in Schneiderlin? Superb player, just what we need imo.

Have a good day

{Ed001's Note - another one we have tried to sign in the past, I don't think he will be leaving them just yet though. Maybe in the summer, if things are still in turmoil, he could be a possibility.}

Hi Eds, great work as always. Amidst all the talk of a left winger, central midfielder and left back being priority, I cannot help but feel the best option for the midfield position would be radja nainngolan. he is tireless in his running and a dominant presence in midfield not to mention an impressive range of passing. could you please inform as to who is interested in him as I highly doubt Liverpool are? cheers

{Ed002's Note - Nainggolan has moved to Roma on a loan to buy deal.}

We are showing more of an interest in Nathaniel Clyne amidst the chaos at Southampton. Nothing new on the Salah front; from what I hear we're still playing hardball.

I dream of Shaw, however the money if he leaves will be high and we could get someone ready for the first team for a lot cheaper so I wouldn't expect that to hhappen.

Eds - with the meltdown in process in the boardroom at Southampton a) are we interested in any of their top players (Lallana, Shaw, Lambert, Ramirez, any others) and b) what is their current availability?

Believable13 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - a) like most clubs we would love to sign Shaw, Lallana, Targett, Chambers or the young winger whose name I forget. b) no one knows yet, not the players, nor their agents, not even sure the club knows right now!}

Hi Eds,

Isn't it just Cortese leaving? I thought he was just a sporting director or something. Appreciated if you Ed or Through the Storm would shed som light as I don't think I fully understand what's going on with the "meltdown". Was Cortese and Pochettino close?

Thanks

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - Cortese was the Chairman, he was the man who sacked Adkins and brought in Pochettino)

Pochettino has been quoted as saying that if Cortese left the club he would walk away too. That's his right if he so wishes and the ball's with him now. I find it amusing as all this uproar is going on to recall a guy who posted here a year ago. He wanted FSG out as we were now "Just a little club who won't spend" and compared us to the amazing Southampton who were on their way to being a super team by spending big. What a difference a year makes!

Your thinking of ward-prowse. I live in southampton. And the boys round here love all these players. I hope they kick on second half of the season.

Stick a bid in and hope for the best

Ed02 I think to bid now would be a cheeky bid finally we no what it is

{Ed002's Note - More of a smokescreen I would think.}

Hi Ed,
Been reading reports claiming that M'Villa wants a move to an English Club? Do you believe this is true? And if he does move what club is more likely to land him Liverpool or Napoli? Thanks

Believable6 Unbelievable15

{Ed001's Note - yes but there are other clubs more interested than us, such as Everton, who are searching hard for a central midfielder as well as a forward.}

Any interest in Alan Dzagoev? I have seen a few places that we are keeping an eye on him and are in fact interested. When Ian Ayre flew to Russia one or two weeks ago it was Dzagoev that was the reason. Many on here were asking if it was M'Vila or Yarmelenko. A year or two ago he was regarded as one of Europe's brightest talents but has since fallen off the radar a bit.

According to Liverpool scandinavian fan page the spanish paper Marca claims that PSG will bit 35m£ for Suarez and then LFC can get either Lavezzi or one of three other transfer listed PSG players. Personally I don't believe the rumour, what about you eds. Cheers to all LFC fans out there

Believable4 Unbelievable119

I do not believe it either guys. But can anyone confirm they heard it too.

Agree0 Disagree1

They can offer £35m + Lavezzi, Pastore, Menez & Rabiot and it will still be turned down. Suarez will not leave in January.

Agree2 Disagree2

Let's see then. A Scandinavian fan page claims that Marca claims that £35 million plus a player PSG don't want would likely get us to part with a player who now allegedly has an £80 million buy out clause in his new contract? Well that's not impossible but don't bet your mortgage on it mate! It isn't going to happen IMHO!
