A quick question in regards to the rumour that Klopp is considering a cheap reliable midfielder this month. Would there be any chance he looks at Adrien Rabiot? PSG have apparently named there price for him to go this month. Or would it not be a case of his wages being the stumbling block? It's said Klopp is looking for a loan or a cheap buy. I know it would present Klopp with more problems also trying to get them in to the team but it seems our midfield players have been well managed and rotated as and when the time has called for.

Would love this move think he'd replace Milner next year if he decides to move for more football but its pretty much nailed on Rabiot is going to Barcelona. Seems to be what the player wants.

Would he be cheap? Also doesn't the lad have attitude issues, not sure if that's true but maybe Ed001 can confirm? If that is the case then I wouldn't risk upsetting the squad at this point in the season just for a bit of cover in an area of the pitch we're the most stocked in.

{Ed001's Note - it depends on what you call attitude issues. He refused to be on stand by for the French squad in the summer, for instance, that is the kind of thing he has done.}

I'd go back to Southampton and take Romeu. Think he'd make an excellent backup player.

From a Chelsea fan- steer well clear. I remember we were linked with him as a youngster and his mother (agent) was described as abhorrent to deal with.

He does seem to have a bit of an attitude issue but it's really his mother/ agent that I want us to steer clear of. No amount of talent and quality he possesses will convince me that it'd be worth taking on his mother.

10 million euros signing on fee and wages equivalent to what Salah makes hardly qualifies as a cheap option.

Red Ted, i would not waste my time with Romeu, Jurgens record of picking up great players from relegated teams, [Wijnaldum, Robertson, Shaquiri over the last three seasons could continue at the end of this season when Huddersfield go down, and we could go in for Mooy, who i think is a very good and under rated player who could fit into a number of positions in our midfield, anddo a more than descent job as a cover/ replacement for both Milner and Lallana, and should not break the bank either.

Agree2 Disagree8

{Ed001's Note - oh god please no! Overrated if anything. So slow he would be completely unable to play in Klopp's system.}

17 Jan 2019 10:58:02
Only four players I'd think about getting from Huddersfield would be Jonas Lossl as a backup GK but he is 29 and would want first team football Philip Billing he seems to have something about him, Mathias Jorgensen. Erik Durm is not a bad LB as a back up option played plenty of times LB and RB.

Aaron Mooy would be a cheap and reliable midfielder.

{Ed001's Note - and crap.}

Malcolm on loan would be neat.

{Ed002's Note - Zero chance.}

Kloppers - I definitely agree, let's go for all three and get a bit of Danish talent back to Anfield!

I really don’t think we need to be disrupting the squad in this window after this next game we have a 10 day break in which matip and Gomez and lovren should return also lallana and keita need to step up . Trent is a blow but we have very good players than can fill in and adapt all throughout the team . New players coming in will only interrupt our flow and solidarity in my opinion . Come on the red men give us what we crave đŸ€žđŸ».

Telegraph are reporting that Tottenham are interested in Origi, any truth in this?

I'd find it as unlikely/ foolish. Origi is not better than Llorente. Surely if they were going to go for a loan to cover for Kane's injury, Batshuayi would be a better option?

I know he's not a top calibre forward, but I think he's better than Origi.

By no means am I saying this is true, just posting what I read, I think Llorente is as good as gone and Batshuay is off to Monaco.

I despair of posters who give such nonsense even a second’s thought. In what parallel universe would we help out a major competitor by selling/ loaning them one of our players?

Jonesred - They may reconsider that Llorente transfer out now. It would leave Jannsen as their only striker (and he's a big poo pie), unless they have someone in the academy, but that is a lot of responsibility for a young player, replacing Kane until mid March.

Lucas Moura is injured, Son is on international duty. I can't think who they can play up front if they let Llorente go.

{Ed001's Note - the Asian Nations final is on the 1st Feb, if I remember correctly, so it is only a couple of weeks then Son is back.}

Vary true Ravi, and I don’t see them catching us.

I would keep Origi personally. For all his negatives and poor form when playing for loan teams away from us, when he's been in a red shirt, he's put the ball in the net on basis decent enough to be at rotation or cover.
