Eds, Big Jan Molby said Liverpool are interested in Johannes Geis to me yesterday, I'm not saying he knows for sure, have you heard anything, looking through the posts it seems it was in the Rodgers era that Liverpool were interested before he went Schalk or is it case of German manager and every German player out there.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest and his club told Borussia Dortmund he is not for sale.}

16 Jul 2016 22:59:47
Thanks Ed002.

In fairness Ed, Schalke and Dortmund are massive local rivals so I couldn't see Schalke selling them any of their decent players. It would be like Everton selling one of their best players to Liverpool. Hopefully they are more open to offers from other clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Right but that is what happened and maybe they will be - but Liverpool has made no approach.}

16 Jul 2016 22:17:58
Quick question for the eds,
With clyne reportedly wanting to leave would that mean we're in the market for a right back aswell? I remember a while ago you mentioning we were interested in Aina from Chelsea, anything still in that?

Believable0 Unbelievable14

{Ed002's Note - No longer an option.}

Cedric soares from saints. A well trodden path, standard summer transfer!

Cheers.

Hopefully replace from within.

From within what? The magic chest of world class right backs we have?
Flanno needs to show a LOT more before he can be considered more than backup and while I like Randall a lot he is far from 1st team material just yet. Just don't tell me this is what the Mercado rumours were about.
Soares would actually make sense. Or a couple of other random names of good young RBs around Europe include Mitchell Weiser and João Cancelo. Although my choice would still be Seamus Coleman. ;)

17 Jul 2016 09:39:22
Seamus Coleman's game has spontaneously deteriorated over the last couple of years not sure whether it's the injuries but he has really been struggling! Ironically I actually think Cedric would be the ideal signing think he is one of the best up and coming full backs in the league and he can actually defend and head the ball which is a rarity these days.

Sure Shane, another Southampton player. Brilliant!

17 Jul 2016 21:04:11
We need to find the next Cedric and stop paying over the odds for other team players once they've proved themselves.

I agree about we need to get to these players before they're big names and finished articles, but then people say we can't use the likes of Flanagan and Randall. As a general group of fans we do all seem to want it both ways, big names, but not for big money, shrewd use of little known players but not from within our own club. Flanagan was good enough out of position to do a solid job so I'd have no issues with him playing and Clyne is still there. That gives Randall a season or 2 for continued development - I don't see the rush to buy players as well.

Sky saying we are interested in Jonathan Tah. Haven't heard anything on him here in a little while. Anything to it Eds?

Cheers.

Believable5 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anything changing.}

16 Jul 2016 22:22:02
As always, thanks.

New here, been reading for a few weeks now. Good job. Anyway, saw a lot of rumours regarding Ante Coric, exciting talent, and not a bank breaker by any means, around a few weeks back, is the dead in the water or a possibility? Thanks, keep up the good work.

Believable1 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - Everyone and his dog is interested but he seems keen to stay where he is for now.}

16 Jul 2016 20:35:57
My dog isn't that fussed about Coric tbh. He doesn't really pay him any attention.

Ed2, I apologise if this has been answered, I did look but couldn't see an answer:

Zielinski has apparently made up his mind. Does that mean he's off to Napoli and not Liverpool?

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable19

{Ed002's Note - The player wants to play for Liverpool but Liverpool don't want to pay for him so Milan is his other option.}

16 Jul 2016 16:54:13
Thanks for the quick reply Ed, much appreciated.

Agree3 Disagree18

16 Jul 2016 21:09:18
How far apart are we and his club?

Agree1 Disagree9

{Ed002's Note - Not too much but Udinese don't want to negotiate with Liverpool.}

16 Jul 2016 23:28:40
Sly saying he's had talks with Udinese could this mean he's asked them to negotiate with us and sorted something out? Only time will tell I suppose.

Agree1 Disagree5

17 Jul 2016 09:37:06
Heya ed002, any idea if udinese have any desire to lay a complaint against lfc for allegedly tapping up zielinski? Or are these things sometimes sorted hetween clubs behind closed dooors?

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - I am sure they are not looking to complain. The last time Liverpool were caught a grovelling Ian Ayre apology and a tail of slime were enough to stop any action.}

17 Jul 2016 10:03:37
Ah k thanks for reply. In some ways it would seem a shame that there be no formal action, even if it would be against us.

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - The expectation is that Liverpool and Klopp would behave in a respectful manner toward other sides. They don't - and everybody knows that.}

17 Jul 2016 10:56:39
Cheers ed.

16 Jul 2016 12:27:04
Reports saying Klopp is willing to wait for next season to sign chilwell. Guess we'll have to pay a tribunal fee anyway, I would rather we pay the extra and have him for this season too.

Believable6 Unbelievable19

{Ed002's Note - It would open up the interest of another EPL side in him again.}

16 Jul 2016 13:31:05
Ed, I think that other epl side may be arsenal. Feel free to correct mw if i'm wrong.

Agree2 Disagree18

{Ed002's Note - There is no secret about their interest which was dropped when Liverpool were expected to sign him.}

18 Jul 2016 13:06:28
Sorry to ask is answered but can't find it - is the wait til next season because of injury or money or both?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool don't want to pay the money.}

16 Jul 2016 10:39:20
Manu Utd interested in Joe Allen along with West Ham and Stoke. Any truth to these rumours Eds?

Believable3 Unbelievable24

{Ed002's Note - Swansea approached Liverpool in respect of taking Joe Allen on loan in January - it was rebuffed but they might well make an offer to buy him this summer. Celtic are interested but might be priced out of the market. I am not aware of any approaches by Manchester United, West Ham or Stoke at this time.}

16 Jul 2016 12:20:03
Why would Jose buy Allen? They have far better quality in the bench.

16 Jul 2016 12:52:56
Are Sevilla interested too ed?

Agree2 Disagree17

{Ed002's Note - {Ed002's Note - Sevilla enquired after his availability whilst discussing Alberto - they could take it further if encouraged.}

16 Jul 2016 13:19:24
Are Sevilla still actively interested in Luis Alberto ed? Sorry for the random question.

Agree1 Disagree17

{Ed002's Note - Yes, very much so.}

17 Jul 2016 07:31:31

18 Jul 2016 13:09:28
I thought reason he'd be looking to move is game time - which surely rules out any of the top half dozen clubs and suggests he'd be looking mid table and below for a move? Or do we just put much less value on his capabilities than others?
