ED there seems to be some truth behind this hicks takeover bid, if he succeeds the club is screwed.troubled time ahead.
{Editor's Note: You may be worrying a little too much here. If Hicks stays as the owner I am sure it will not be for the long term. Perhaps it won't give the spending spree so many fans seem desparate to see.}

I am not sure that it is just Hicks, but I understand that there has been a sustained effort by the owners to refinance the loan. I have explained before about the failed efforts in June. However, this does not necessarily have anything sinister about it. The club will continue to be for sale if refinancing is achieved - but simply breathing room inserted in the equation.

Bad bad news tommorow.
News broke State side 1hr ago and at least 3 major tabloids will run the full details in the morning.
George Gillet has gone and Tom Hicks has refinanced in order to acquire full control of the club.
I do not know what his long term plans are wether this is to gain more time while still selling the club etc
Broughtons job is done.

this is it this is the big one ive been waiting for weeks for it to be confirmed that's why ive been posting utter s* te here to keep you lot guessing its now been confirmed to me and this is fact our new owner is stefan persson swedish billionair how do i know well heres how in park lane liverpool close to were i live there is swedish church you can google it if you want now this church is also a stop over for swedish travellers and seamen and any swedish people lookin for some home from home comforts well a few weeks ago i was in the cafe round the corner and got talking to a couple of well dressed swedish men we had some small talk like how they loved the city and how the liverpool 1 shopping centre was built very well now the church is only 200 yards from the city centre this is fact have a look on google maps to prove it, now they dropped a hint to me that they were staying at the hilton again only a short walk from the church i asked them had they been to the church they said they had to make a donation to help the people who stay there as its a charity and its for their fellow country men to have a free stay so it helps with the running costs. so then they start talking about lfc and how they were big fans and then just said itl be our club soon and we will make it great again i tried to get them to tell me what they meant they said they just had a bid to buy it accepted and then said they couldnt tell me any more only that they were in the clothing industry in a big way and with that they just said goodbye and wait for the news to break in middle september that's nearly here and its starting to break now.

I've heard late last night that RBS will not take control of the club, as H&G have accepted a bid.The bid was nowhere near what they expected but they have both agreed its better to walk away with a profit rather than going through the courts and losing more money.They will walk away with a profit of millions.Don't know who new owners are! But was told Broughton will make a announcement last week in september, when G&H will have left and new owner unveiled. At long last !
Could these rumours surrounding Swedish bidders be the ones being represented by Keith Harris. He said those unknown to the public will ultimately be successful in the bid for Liverpool, not publicity seeking Kirdi or Huang rumours?

Man City have already stated that the will not sell to rivals. Ashley Young is currently in the process of new contract at Vilaa and Aguero is not coming. Apparently, we didn't just send scouts over to holland to watch wolfswinkel, we also sent scouts over to Romania to scout Lacina Traore!.
the guy is 6'8
has been labelled, the new adebayor (minus the attitude hopefully)
arsenal, real Madrid and Chelsea amongst other clubs have been watching him for the past year.
hopefully we can get him, IMO he is kinda like a cross between crouch and adebayor, he is the complete package!
the best part is, he is still only 19!

If RBS take over the running of the club (which they won't) they will not be investing in buying players. If RBS take over anything it will simply be as a means to sell the business on.

Cecil's not been here that long, but longer than Phillip Nash (non executive) which just leaves Ian Ayre, who has been at the club longer than any other board member (excutive or non-executive), with the exception of The Toxics, obviously.
