with the new dof to be announced have you heard anything regarding a new approach to signings? or is it still gunna be the same policy as comoli - tyvm

By "same policy as comolli" do you mean aim low pay high?

If you mean we are still going after soldado and muniain then yes there will still be interest despite that he left.

By same policy was just reffering to the young, big prospect players - or we gunna have a little more flexibility this time and be able to mix and match

Hi eds just a couple of questions:

1) which clubs have shown an interest in Kuyt?

2) do you think we will go for isla this summer or wait until january/next summer when he has recovered completely from his injury?

Appreciate the job you guys do on this site and seriously don't know why people are so ungrateful and slag you off for telling the truth.
Cheers {Ed001's Note - 1. I only know of interest from Italy in Kuyt, but which clubs it would be I would only be guessing. It is plural though.
2. It is very difficult to say with Isla, not just because of the injury, but because we don't know for sure why he was targeted. If it was because he fitted DC's statistical analysis, then he won't be a target any longer.}

Hi ed, Ur answer for 2nd question. Does this apply to other targets like DeJong, Phillips, Ramirez, Soldado etc.

AJ {Ed001's Note - yes, though I happen to know that Phillips is someone Dalglish himself likes, so he is very likely to still be of interest.}

Ed002 - I saw your previous response on Jackson Martinez which was unrevealing, however ESPN are reporting the following -

Martinez told Colombian newspaper Nuevo Estadio: "I am not in any advanced negotiations with Liverpool or Porto but I know they are personally interested. I have not spoken to anyone and that goes for my club and my agent. In the next few months things should be finalised."

So whether we should have moved for him in January as Ed002 said is a moot point! Eds are we interested in him now? He certainly is planning on coming to Europe. {Ed002's Note - The interest he refers to may be from January of course. I am not aware of anything new.}

I am fearful Martinez isn't good enough. He's 25/26 and scored 16 goals in 30+ games. In the Mexican league.

I'm not typing him off totally, i'm just very sceptical that he'd be a 20+ goal a season striker in the English Prem.

Not a rumour just a thought!

AGBONLAHOR from ASTON VILLA

25 years old can play as a winger or a striker! Pacey player with a lot of ability. Scores goals and also provides alot of chances. Just an idea think it would be a positive buy myself. Thoughts!!?

Although he showed some promise a few years back, he hasn't lived up to expectations, a bit like walcott.

Woeful player

cozinoz

So hu do we want some player with a INHO or a ALDO on the end of there name! It's wrong!

Hes inconsistent. i dont think he is good enough really.

Scores loads of goals?creates goals?jesus christ feller if it was 100meter sprint or bench press110 kilos i would say go for him .
frankyscouse

We dont want to go down this road of paying £20 mill for over priced british players again!!

Just what we need. Another overpriced mediocre English player. I would cry if we signed him.

Couple of problems with him

1. He isnt a good winger
2. He isnt a good striker
3. He doesnt score many goals

Dear lord we need real quality to get us back where we need to be. Dont care where there from or whats at the end of there names, its mediocre like Gabby that have uis where we are.

Dodge {Ed001's Note - he is also a Villa fan that would have no interest in leaving them.}

Scores goals?? er he makes Heskey look like Shearer

Its people like you that i hope liverpool don't get as managers

If his interviews are anything to go from the poor lad is extremely thick. Brains are underrated in football, players have to be clever enough to adapt to situations and alot struggle.

Are you his agent? It seems that only an agent would come out with such things? I mean, the post was obviously a load of garbage.

He would be a woeful signing

17 Apr 2012 22:33:52
Have we ever shown interest In robben?
Gaz b

No but were keen on batman

He is too Injury Prone!

Hes a good player and not british, so probably not!

17 Apr 2012 22:30:18
if blackpool get promoted send charlie adam on loan for a short time at the start of next season to recapture his form

Let him stay there

Took the words out of my mouth. Let him stay there

What is the point on sending him out on loan? Ridiculous.

rikdangerous

Just sell him. He's been useless I'd rather see Shelvey or Henderson playing in CMF

17 Apr 2012 22:29:23
We are preparing an offer to Real Madrid following there recent enquiry regarding Glen Johnson. I hear the offer will be around 8 euros and Alvaro Arbeloa with permission to talk to Fernando Gago. Anyone else heard this? Come on reds!

I dont really think we would sell him for 8 euros. I think you mean 8 million

No mate 8 euros it's in mourinhos back pocket for safe keeping :)

Arbeloa is crap and gago injury probe,Glen Johnson is one of the best full backs around selling him would be a step backwards

8 euro's...we can replace him with a happy meal..

2 happy meals let's emphasise thet fact we are getting 2 here

I wouldn't say Arbeloa is crap - he is actually an extremely good RB - rather than OLD. He is 30 years old and we have a perfectly capable RB in Kelly, if we were to sell Johnson.

TSP

Arbeloa is not crap, and how do we have permission to talk to Gago when at the moment Roma have a future fee that they can pay for him. Would rather see Kelly at CB, may get injured less.

Arbeloa left us due to homsesickness I very much doubt he would come back.

Long live the King

Brad Jones
Fabio Aurelio
Maxi Rodriquez
Alberto Aquilani

I think its doubtful we'll sign 5 players

Well it's time you stopped doubting and started believing pal we will sign 5 at the least

Is this what you made your scouts do on football manager? 'gk aged 21-24 - scouts rate him at 4 & a half stars potential'

this is the REAL world. it's not as cut and dried as you seem to have it

Sign right back between 5 ft 8 and 5 ft 10 with elbow-to-hand length of at least 14 inches....

Hey Eds,

Obviously this is a bit of a long shot now but have we ever had any interest in Gomez? Hes a class act.

Also have there been any recent development regarding Luuk De Jong.

Many Thanks

JTR {Ed001's Note - we tried to sign Gomez in the January we ended up with Carroll. No new developments that I know of for De Jong.}

Do you really think Gomez would swap Munich for Liverpool? Don't be daft.

17 Apr 2012 21:30:08
What's happening with Magri from Portsmouth, is he due to join in the summer?

Any idea eds? {Ed002's Note - I don't know what the plan is.}

Signed but was sent back on loan to pompy

Red Rout

17 Apr 2012 21:27:23
Is it just Johnsons wages that seems to be forcing his departure this summer,what sort of contract is he on that makes us want to sell a settled english international or does he want to leave.

Yonks want the £££££s
No footballing reasons whatsoever.
We're a selling club, owned by greedy so and sos...

Iv heard he has a clause meaning he has to play whenever hes fit, due to his england place? Might be a load of rubbish, and he has been more consistent this season, but i still think we will get decent money for him and his wage is big just because of his england status and can be better used elsewhere!

Have also read somewhere that his contract says he must play if fit.

You have to give these guys a chance. They haven't been shy in spending money though and they're business acumen has certainly worked for the red sox. They know how to get success fast. Judge them in 3 years time

I would keep him unless he wants to go or we can get a similar quality replacement. it was a common site to see johnson get foreward down the wing to support attacks. kelly is injury prone and flannigan needs a loan spell to get first team football as he is not yet ready to be in the first team of a champions league chasing team, which hopefully we will be after the summer.

Great Site but who are Liverpool most interested and please dont just say see previous answers :) ?

Thanks DAVE :) !

We have had people look at multiple players..

Mauricio Isla
Luuk De Jong
Gaston Ramirez
Apparently Jackson Martinez
Macca says Iker Muniain and Roberto Soldado
And a few young (18-23yrs old) midfielders from mainland european clubs
Adam Johnson, Kevin Strootman, James Milner and Moussa Sissoko may attract interest should they become available.

Hope this helps.

YNWA! (Adam)

Use search function ha

Ed01 would tell you Matt Philips and Luuk De Jong. Ed02 Isla and possibly Gaston Ramirez. Macca says Munuain and Soldado.

Papa G

"please dont just say see previous answers"

Why not? Why can't they say it. Most people on here are motivated enough to use the search function What is wrong with your lazy ass? Are you entitled to some kind of special treatment over everyone else. Get off your throne and do a little research.

No soldado or munain I'm afraid :( soldado to stay with Valencia and munain to Sevilla x

We are interested in players I can tell you that much

Munain to Seville haha are you on crack, their broke, like nearly every Spanish club

17 Apr 2012 20:43:23
hello eds i have a mate who supports bristol city and he said he has heard eccleston is going there on loan next year heard anything? {Ed002's Note - I doubt that any decisions have yet been made over loans for next season. Additionally, there is every chance Eccleston will leave over the summer.}

David james swap deal

I work with the mother of an injured Bristol City Player..This is not true.

17 Apr 2012 20:36:29
Hi Ed 002, according to a few websites Aquilani has made 27 appearences, not sure how many are starts thoughas it didn't say and I'm on my phone so its harder to look up, not really sure how reliable that is but a couple of sites are quoting it. It does show that he is close to leaving though.
Thanks for answering my questions.
AFK {Ed002's Note - It is starts that are relevant - once he hits 25 then the deal is complete.}

By my count he has already made 17 starts this season with 6 games remaining, does that mean there is a change he may not complete his move to AC? {Ed002's Note - There is a slim chance it could not go through but almost certainly will.}

{Ed002's Note - your source is rather out of date - the total games for this season is currently 35 with him due to complete 25 starts anytime now.}

17 Apr 2012 20:35:47
What is it about Milner that has gotten people so interested in him lately? Did he do something awesome that I have missed? Why would Liverpool be interested in him at all? Eds, please tell me there isn't any Milner interest. {Ed002's Note - I tried saying there wasn't any interest but just got cut down for it by some of the glifnards who obviously want to be told there is.}

Well that's good. I just don't understand the infatuation with Milner. A slow CM who plays RM who can sometimes whip in a good cross. Not exactly dynamic. At least he has a good work rate. I'd rather keep Kuyt than sign Milner.

17 Apr 2012 20:10:42
Hello Ed002,
what are the chances Mourinio will leave Real after this season? I'm not "linking" him to LFC, just curious about your opinion in this matter. Cheers. Thanks for great work. {Ed002's Note - THere is certainly a good chance that he will leave Real Madrid this summer.}

Tottenham Hotspurs?

Plain Taunt Hall.

Ohhh if he leaves he can come and move in with me. He is lush....

If he leaves on his own terms, why? Where would he would he go? Utd job not available yet, Liverpool may be of interest to him due to the challenge it would present and, arguably, the biggest achievement of his career if h won the Premier League with a dozing, if not sleeping , giant. Aside from that, I don't see too much out their to keep his competitive fires burning too brightly.
Maybe he'll feel that just staying in Madrid and winning La Liga or Ol' Big ears with them is challenge enough.

Ultimately, who cares- I wouldn't want the poisonous little spoilt brat at our club. All ego, no class!

Mrpjd

17 Apr 2012 19:56:32
how come every player we are interested in ed002 has them more or less going to other clubs than rather ours, also when suarez is mentioned he could be leaving whats that all about? negative or what towards liverpool fc

gee man {Ed002's Note - Try not to be an idiot. These are not players Liverpool are interested in, they are posters who have seen players on some fantasy football game or players who have done well over the weekend. What do you seriously expect me to say when I am asked about Cavani, Hazard, Drogba, Messi etc.? You want the truth or you want to be lied to?}

The thing is, Ed002, that we ask about players like Soldado, Adam Johnson, Muniain etc. etc. and the answer is still the same. We usually don't ask about Messi, Cavani etc. {Ed002's Note - Cavani is asked about constantly. So go and look what I have said about Johnson and Soldado.}

Because ed002 is a Chelsea fan {Ed002's Note - Here they come - the anonymous trolls. Great start to an evening that will no doubt end with numerous posters being banned. You don't seem to realise that you do much more harm than good when pissing off the editors who give their time for nothing to keep this site running.}

Ed 0002 is a chelsea fan and hates lfc {Ed002's Note - What makes you think I hate Liverpool? I was there on Saturday willing Liverpool to win. Were you? Could you be bothered to drag your fat arse down there?}

I'm with the Ed on this. It's common sense that we're not interested in Drogba and Messi doesn't want to leave Barca.

We will however, be signing Ronaldo, Xavi and Pele.

Leave it out, would you rather Ed002 lie about interest in the likes of Cavani? Be realistic about what players we may be after and who we can attract without Champions league. Interest in Munain and Soldado has been confirmed by the Eds, so why moan?

Yes I agree because look at our team sheet now... We can see cavani, lavezzi, a.Johnson, hazard, eriksen etc... Please shut up you deluded people! The eds hasn't got much to be honest. Also its I think the reason why eds say we have less chance of a player is due to Liverpool keeping pretty much everything behind closed doors. The eds can only find out when the interest is very serious ie de jong and matt Phillips. And please don't give a hard time to the eds because they are providing us fans with a free service here. Eds all you're great workis much appreciated. Thank you.

STB {Ed002's Note - Thanks.}

Why are you explaining yourself Ed002? If we don't want to hear what you have to say about players. We can either not ask questions or not read any of your replies.

Or do what I would do mate and tell them to f*ck off.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed002's Note - I would never use language like that of course Blair.}

Who are these morans slagging off the eds ? i mean seriously get a life or a job or both or even better just stop being a complete set of nobheads and let us proper fans have some proper banter

red gaz

I bet even if we finish first. ED 2 will still say we can't attract Muniain, Hazard etc...She is just a pessimist. Did Athletico have any pessimism when they fought wid ur beloved Chelsea for.falcao??. NO, then way not say something like "it is possible bit the player will be hard to get".... {Ed001's Note - I think you are missing the point, Atletico and Chelsea pay much higher wages. That is why we are not going to attract them.}

I don't understand why people just want to slag the eds on this site. Do you guys want the truth from the eds or just want to play "fantasy manager" ? Why do you want the eds to say yes to every name you come up with ? And if the transfer does not happen, you guys will be here to slag the eds again. Get a life guys. Why dont you understand that these eds find time from their busy schedules just to give us authentic info and transfer gossip of our favourite clubs, and you guys dont even have to pay a penny for the services. ed, you are doing an excellent job and we love you and this site. Carry on the good work. Cheers.

MIHIRED. {Ed001's Note - the one that really gets me is when they moan if we say we don't know! It amazes me that one. I often wonder if they would prefer us to just make up stories to keep them amused.}

Just curious... How far did you exactly travel to get to Wembley ed? {Ed002's Note - Exactly I am not sure - perhaps 35 miles on Saturday and then 6 miles on Sunday.}

Just curious, how far do you travel to your nearest starbucks ? {Ed002's Note - I use Cafe Nerd instead.}

I would rather be told lies, sweet little lies

Unfortunatly this is what the modern fan is like nowadays.nitpicking little s---s who want a super squad like city but cant handle the bigger picture. if it was possible they should be banned on the grounds of stupidity. ur info eds is most welcome. {Ed001's Note - thank you mate.}

Is it actually possible to ban these folk?

Great work Ed002.. Dont bother about this idiots.. Carry on with good work, great to read your posts/replies..

What amazes me is that this is a rumours site not an ask the ed's site! These idiots ask the same questions over and over and expect a different answer! cant they tell you cut and paste the standard responses every time. And then the poor little things get upset with your answers!!!

And what happened to Carroll not signing. No chance of Suarez. Weren't so cocky when people were mentioning that. And because you know your wrong, you won't bother posting it. Typical. When people post genuine info, you don't bother posting it because they are players that are actually decent and not a load of players no has ever heard of. Macca, an ITK, says we are targeting soldado and Muniain, and guess what, she dismisses it, unlikely she says but obviously just that little bit of a chance incase we sign them {Ed002's Note - What did I not post? Point me at some of these "cocky" posts? Read what I said about Soldado? You are right, I got Suarez wrong - what about the ones I got right? Any thanks from you? Why don't you sign your posts? You are the trolling filth that the Editors have to put up with constant bleatings from. We give our time for nothing to keep this running - perhaps we should just delete every post for a few days - then you would have nothing to complain about?}

17 Apr 2012 19:52:56
Hi edds really concerned with lpool and some of the players we have been linked with for next season likes of drenthe,matt phillips,vargas. Hope these are just rumours would much prefer us to go for the likes of milner and adam johnson both proven premiership players and not having the best time at man city at the momment what do you think are the chances of us bringin either of the 2 in my preference would be milner also would love 2 see kenny given another season to prove himself and also suarez to stay as he is probably or best player next to gerrard thought it would be hard to replace torres but suarez is a much better player even if he has not scored as many goals
Cheers
{Ed002's Note - If Johnson becomes available there may be interest. I don't see Milner moving to Liverpool.}

Fits the transfer policy buy english

The same could have been said about last Summers buys when they were still only 'targets'. Be careful what you wish for.

The 3 best signings we made (suarez, enrique And Bellamy) didnt fit the transfer policy. The transfer policy doesnt work

So you want us to sign players from city who are on huge wages rather than ones who we can afford? johnson is not even a regular in their side. i would rather unearth our own gems rather than buying city's cast offs

17 Apr 2012 19:52:02
Hi Ed, great site! First time poster, but seen rumours of Kuyt leaving, how much do you think we would get for him? I'd say about 2 or 3 million. Also if you don't mind answering how many more games has Aqualani got before he leaves automatically?
Thanks
AFK {Ed002's Note - Aquilani will complete his 25 starts fairly soon - you can look it up and let us know when. Kuyt will probably fetch a little more than you suggest.}

17 Apr 2012 19:11:46
Eds what's the deal with Seyi ojo is he ours at the end if the season? {Ed002's Note - He will be at the Academy for a few years and then we will see.}

Seyi Ojo is a Liverpool player already, not at the end of the season. He's played a good few games now for the under 15s, as well as representing England under 16s. The lad has serious talent, and I'd expect him to get a few chances in the under 18s next year, despite his young age

17 Apr 2012 19:33:45
Ed is there a chance that suarez could stay fans would be piss with owners if he leave {Ed002's Note - Of course he could stay.}

17 Apr 2012 19:17:14
Ed do think the Jackson Martinez deal is gunner happen {Ed002's Note - If Liverpool really wanted Martinez then January should have been the time to make a move.}

17 Apr 2012 18:44:40
I think that our new DOF will be Loui van Gaal.....he can grow up young players ...and that thing we need the most ........I think that he will do 2-3 good signings after EURO 2012 ...

If Van Gaal comes then trust me when i say this, All the back room staff will be gone and All the youth set up will change completely and All players we have to do as he says exactly its just his style, so you can 100% completely rule him out, it will be Tixi..

BigD

17 Apr 2012 18:14:36
Ed's, you say Glen Johnson could quite possibly be heading out in the summer. Who are we looking at?

As highly as I and I'm sure the club rate Martin Kelly, surely like me they must be concerned about his injuries?

Could Lukasz Piszczek of Borussia Dortmund be a viable option?

Cheers,
Stone YNWA. {Ed002's Note - Most notably Isla has been looked at. Piszczek is not an option.}

Wont we just use kelly?

17 Apr 2012 18:10:24
Ed, you seem quite sure that Suarez will leave in the summer? Why's that?

Because he comes across as someone that loves the club, saying he wants to stay, and him saying today he's hoping for a change of luck next season with the woodwork? Surely we wouldn't sell him? Him and a proper finisher (Carroll if he finds his form) would be lethal {Ed002's Note - I have said I suspect he will leave and have given my resons. This has been supported by interest now being declared by four clubs.}

At the end of the day IF and its a big if he did leave they would have to bring in someone pretty amazing to fill his spot as he is one of our best players

What four clubs have been interested? {Ed002's Note - Roma, Palermo, Juventus, PSG.}

Has Luis not stated today that he is commited to LFC, he has a 4yr contract and he says he is happy, and wants to repay the club and supporters for his mishap earlier in the season. Should he go ( and i don't think he will) it will be because the owners want him off the books for his actions a few months back. I would hope all have learned from this debacle club and player, and we move on and look to add more quality in attack to compliment what we have at present.

You mentioned PSG earlier Ed as a club interested in Suarez, who are the other 3 clubs?

Fadi {Ed002's Note - I mentioned the other three as well, Palermo, Roma and Juventus.}

17 Apr 2012 15:26:06
Ed 1 i know you said you believe dalglish will move upstairs in the summer do you still believe that to be the case? Or do you think winning the fa cup will save his job, thanks. RedTurk {Ed001's Note - he hasn't won it yet. It seems the most likely solution, but Comolli's early departure has changed the situation.}

Ed how has comolli's departure changed the situation? Is kenny more or less likely to go {Ed002's Note - It means that there will be a new Director of Football and that may influence what happens.}

Think Kenny will move upstairs if we win the Cup or not. Hopefully we will win it as he can move on a high.I think he will still be heavily involved in the club but not as manager.

Dunno where all these septic pegs come from who can predict the future. I tend to listen to what comes out of the club and that is that KD enjoys the full support of the board who think he's doing a great job.

It would be an enormous faux pas to say that and then relieve him of his duties at the end of the season. The owners would lose the support of the fans and they cannot afford that at this moment.

Who enjoys there full support does not translate to ' they think hes doing a great job'? It simply means he wont be removed until the end of season, unless we show we can put a winning run together and win all our remaining games, but still we will only be 7th, theres no improvement in my eyes. Some peope will point to the carling cup, lets remember dalglish was playing near enough the 1st team while other top clubs were playing there youth set ups. RedTurk

RedTurk must get off on believing his own lies.

Youth setups!?

Stoke- 29 Thomas Sorensen
39 Jonathan Woodgate
4 Robert Huth
17 Ryan Shawcross
30 Ryan Shotton
6 Glenn Whelan
24 Rory Delap
26 Matthew Etherington
12 Marc Wilson
19 Jonathan Walters
9 Kenwyne Jones

Chelsea did play more youth players, to be fair, with McEachern, Romeu, Lukaku, and Bertrand.

Turnbull, Bosingwa, Alex, Luiz, Lampard, Malouda, Torres all started.

Ramires, Anelka, and Mata came on.

City first leg
Hart, Lescott, Clichy, Richards, Savic, Barry, de Jong, Milner, Johnson, Aguero, Balotelli

Second leg
Hart, Lescott, Richards, Zabaleta, Kolarov, Savic, Barry, de Jong, Nasri, Silva, Dzeko.

RedTurk, check your facts. Support the club!

McSnuggles

17 Apr 2012 16:02:46
Ed who do you think is most likely person to get DOF? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps Txiki Begiristain.}

Eds isn't chelsea, man city and spurs after him too? Do you think we can still get him even with these competition? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea had an interest about two years ago and I don't know of any confirmed interest from anyone else right now.}

I think he would be a good choice if we can get him.
CR

Anyone called Tricksy is ok with me.

17 Apr 2012 15:58:37
Jackson martinez rumours flying round again. Do you think liverpool would make a bid for him eds? {Ed002's Note - If Liverpool have a strong interest in Jackson Martinez January should have been the time to make a move. But I can confirm is that Villareal, Benfica, Porto and Sporting Lisbon have been interested in him.}

17 Apr 2012 15:55:26
Ed with the owners being back this wednesday do u think they will be naming the D.O.F then? And do u still think glen jonhson will be moving on in the summer {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what they will say this week. Johnson may well leave.}

Could one of the Ed's please confirm which clubs are interested in Johnson? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

Ed002: I did use the search function but on numerous occasions I was met with the following, "Liverpool Rumours Search Sorry, no search results were found." So I asked you instead. {Ed002's Note - I am guessing you mispelled his name if your post is anything to go by.}

17 Apr 2012 15:06:40
Ed, I read that inter were interested in moussa sissoko, whats the latest on his situation and which clubs do u think could be bidding for him come June?

Red otter {Ed002's Note - Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko has attracted interest from Inter, Lyon, Roma, Genoa, Juventus, Liverpool and probably Napoli. Arsenal and Milan's previous interest waned over last summer. Damien Comolli let Sissoko's agent know that Liverpool see his man as the ideal long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard but for some reason Liverpool failed to make the final push in the summer. Sissoko remains available but Liverpool have yet to follow up their previous interest. Right now I would have to say Roma are most likely to get their man this summer.}

Hamburg have entered the race to sign Dirk Kuyt at the end of the season, according to De Telegraaf.

The Dutch international has fallen out of favour at Anfield this season and could leave over the summer, amidst reported interest from his former club Feyenoord.

The Dutch outfit previously admitted they would find it tough to land Kuyt this year but hoped to do a deal when he decides to call it a day with the Reds.
However they have been encouraged in their pursuit of the 31-year-old, who has fallen down the pecking order at Liverpool and may walk away from the club sooner than planned.

Kuyt was left out of the Liverpool's starting line up for their FA Cup semi-final showdown against Everton last weekend, with the forward expressing his displeasure on missing out on the occasion.

However according to De Telegraaf, Hamburg are said to be ready to enter the race for his signature and could launch a bid this summer.

The paper also reports interest in Kuyt's signature from Italy, with both Fiorentina and Roma monitoring the situation as the season draws to a close.

Hamburg could offer him a route to the Bundesliga however, with the German club said to ready to offer him a lucrative deal that would equal his current deal with Liverpool – something other clubs interested in his signature would be unable to offer.

We made the same mistake with Sami, now it looks like we will repeat it with Dirk. Shame.

Eds do u see Charlie Adams leaving? {Ed001's Note - probably not.}

Damn shame, he is the most pants buy out of all the new signings!!

Why not he is awful! Shelvey is a much better player

Now I don't think he will because he is a good player and he is not playing at the moment because he picked up a injury

I feel we will sign Cavani because he will come because of lúis Suarez {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

Adam (not Adams btw!) is a good player and Cavani to Liverpool....I'll have 2 of whatever you've had plz!

Gav

Muniain is a quality player, and if he is one of our main targets I fear we will not sign him because of no champions league football, anyway, do we have a decent shot at him, or is it wishful thinking?

Extremely wishful thinking in my view

A wise man on FIFA once said 'if you don't buy a ticket you don't win the raffle'

Actually that wise man got sacked from his day job but that is still a wise statement

Hes very young so champions league wouldn't phase him

hi eds, before i start you do a brill job on here, well i dont claim to know the ins and outs of football but like many come on here for the banter or the rumours, i just have 1 question, forgive me if youve already answered it but prior to commollis sacking it was stated that he was talking of the 2 signings he was interested in and they were a central defender and a striker. maccas said were interested in muniain and solgado. neither of which are defenders, so who would commolli be refering to. i always thought we had decent cover in defence to not warrant increasing the amount of defenders.
billy {Ed001's Note - I have no idea who Comolli was talking about, I haven't even seen any quotes regarding a central defender sorry.}

It isn't Solgado. It's Roberto Soldado. Even Macca can do a typo!

Any chance that Rafa might be the one to replace Commolli? Reality Red

Or Kenny more likely? with a new man at the helm?

Gav

Reality red, are you sure

After sighnings like aquilani i doubt it

I wouldn't have thought so, as surely he would want the manager's job over DoF!

Keith

Would you take El Zhar, Nunez, Dossena, Kromkamp, Keane, Josemi, Degen, Padelli, Cavalieri, Zenden or Voronin back to Anfield? If the answer is a resounding "NO" then why would you want the genius who signed and played them?

You seem to forget to mention these players signed by the same manager: alonso, torres, mascherano, garcia, bellamy, arbeloa, not forgeting the players still playing for us reina, agger and johnson. not bad signings!??

More likely that kenny becomes DOF & Rafa Head coach

robkop

In reply to poster no.6
I didn't forget about any of the 76 signings that Benitez made. I also didn't forget that he was the reason that players like Alonso, Arbeloa, Crouch, Bellamy and Benayoun left the club. He made a few good signings but let's be honest there are days when the sun will even shine on a dog's a**e. The dross signed by far outweighed the quality.

That my friend is a massive contributing factor to why he is still unemployed. Just remember, be careful what you wish for............

He was awesome at inter and then started complaining about the owners or board AGAIN

El Zhar (Free), Nunez (Rafa didnt sign him, he came in 2004), Dossena (£6m), Kromkamp (player swap for Josemi), Keane (Was not Rafa's signing, he did not want him, he wanted Villa), Josemi (£2m) Degen (Free), Padelli (On Loan), Cavalieri (£2m), Zenden (Played for Barca, PSV, Chelsea and Holland plus he was Free), Voronin (Free). He spent £10m on crap but got us Torres, Alonso, Garcia, Agger, Skrtel, Lucas, Reina, Johnson, Bellamy, Mascherano, Arbeloa, Maxi, Kuyt, Reira. Rafa nows how buy good signings, he free transfers were a bit dodgey but with Cash he gets Quality. {Ed001's Note - Rafa did want Keane, he just wasn't expecting the issues that came with him, which is why he barely played and was got rid of as quickly as possible.}

Think you'll find Rafa did sign Nunez and Josemi - Josemi was his first signing at he club and Nunez was inexplicably part of the Michael Owen - Real Madrid deal, orchestrated by Rafa.

Morning eds,

I never realised the dof had such an important role to play in terms of style of play. Do you think comolli was the reason why the aqua man was sent out on loan? I remember dalglish saying that it was very "unfortunate" that he had to leave, stating he did not fit the new system. I personally wish he had remained with the team as he had the creativity we have been lacking. With comolli gone is there a chance any players out on loan that seemingly did not have a part to play within the club being brought back? {Ed001's Note - no, Aquilani wanted to go, he was sent out on loan because no one would buy him.}

The creativity we've lacked? We're creating plenty of chances evey match

Words from Villa park is Villa are plotting a 16M double summer swoop for misfit Stewart Downing & Charlie Adam. Though Liverpool wouldn't fancy selling both for 16M a 20M offer would be hard to reject.

Manchester City are also lining up Glen Johnson as replacement for out going Pablo Zabaleta. A fee in the region of 12-15 is believed to be be enough to let him leave. Udnese's Chilean fullback Maurico Isla to be brought as a replacement.

Andy Carroll, Luis Suarez & Jordan Henderson won't be leaving.

Matt Philips, Gaston Ramirez & Luke De Jong + a back up keeper to arrive.

Maxi, Kuyt, Aurelio, Doni, Jones, Cole, Aquilani are ready leave. Players such as Flanagan, Ngoo, Silva are to go out on loan. Raheem Sterling & Jonjo Shelvey would be very much involved next season.

Bosco

Just after selling downing for 20?! they can fc* off

Word from villa park is they have no money, so you are wrong

Fed up of reading that we need a back up keeper, every transfer window we need a back up keeper we have Jones, Doni if they leave than we have Gulaisc..

BigD

Won't need to worry about Liverpool next season again then haha.

Steven.

Id try and keep kuyt and maxi they are great options from the bench with bellers, they can change the tempo when needed

And who would you be mr bosco,owner?manager's mate?paul daniels assistant?

I personally would try to keep both Kuyt and Maxi. Especially if we can't replace their great experience.

Paul daniels.......classic mate

Kuyt is on a downward trend and it would be best for him and the club if he moves on in my opinion.
Maxi is a great finisher but does go quiet for long spells and I believe he wants to go back to Argentina.
CR.

What a loadof Bull about Villa after Downing and Adam.Have not got the money,why would LFC take a £6 million loss on these 2.Also and this is the important one,Villa will not pay more than 40k a week,so what your saying is the 2 of them will take a pay cut!

eds,
whatevers going to happen with stephen darby..is he off?
and are we intersted in edgar andrade from jaguares...right winger with 7 assists so far..i would get him with jackson martinez!
thanx {Ed001's Note - most likely leaving at the end of the season. No idea sorry.}

Stephen Darby's on loan at Rochdale and, according to a Dale supporter I know, he's not been overly-impressive.

Morning Eds
Sorry if this has been asked before but are we looking at Victor Moses? I know Wigan want him to extend his contract but he has signed up yet. A young talented player which fits in FSG policy. Also I've been reliably informed that they are back in the UK this week. Any idea what they coming across for? Stadium update? DC replacement?

thanks

RedDan {Ed001's Note - we looked at him he was at Palace and decided against him. He is not that good though, I don't understand what is so good about him. His lack of end product is very similar to Zaha, it doesn't matter if you can beat 500 players if the ball then ends up in the stands or back at the opposite team's feet.}

Ed001. Jordan Henderson and Andy Caroll lack aspects from their game that they (and LFC) need to work on. That didn't stop the club spending vast amounts of money on them. To say a 21 year old "is not that good" is completely unfair on him. {Ed001's Note - hardly, it is an opinion based on watching him over the years. He has not improved the most important aspect of the game - his end product. He is still trying to do it all himself and wasting possession. He is simply not that good. What Henderson and Carroll have to do with an assessment of Moses, I have no idea.}

Not a massive fan of Moses and I think Sterling looks like he'll be a better player, however if you watched him play last night against arsenal he seemed like the most composed and intelligent player on the pitch. But sterling already shows that game intelligence and is four years younger so it'd be a waste of money in my opinion purchasing Moses.

Ed001, you don't know why I mentioned Henderson or Carroll?? They're work in progress. Is Moses at 21 not similar? Clearly not from your response. {Ed001's Note - how is that relevant though? We were talking about an assessment of one player, not those two, their ability is not in anyway connected to Moses. Carroll, whatever may be thought of him, was a striker scoring goals at Newcastle. Moses is a striker who has barely scored. There is a huge difference. Henderson was providing for his team mates, Moses is running into blind alleys and losing the ball more often than not. Again a huge difference.}

He has more assits/goals than Downing at least and even yesterday directly contributed both goals without getting an assist or goal {Ed001's Note - and Downing is having a terrible season for him, while Moses is supposed to be having the season of his life, yet he has done nothing.}

Victor moses played well yesterday at points. At other points he didnt even trouble the keeper when clean through on goal, he ran at arsenal before being tackled and defensively stood there and let everyone run past him. Plus i remember reading moses is older then 21 they just arent sure how much not sure if its a myth though

The thing is, Moses is unique. He is probably the strongest & fastest [not separately but together no one who is as strong as him is as fast as him and vice versa] in the prem. He can take players on and he can add a lot to our game. He is on very low wages and would not cost a lot. He is definitely worth adding to the squad as he can learn how to finish.

BthekingB

I agree with BthekingB on this one, a couple of months ago I would of said I dont think he is a Liverpool player but after watching him alot lately I think he is a very good player and has the potential to be a great player. I would snap him up now whilst his wages and transfer would be pretty low. We could look back in a couple of years and regret not buying him.

WB

I'd rather give ngoo a go

Liverpool face a fight to sign highly rated Colombian international striker Jackson Martinez in the summer.

The 25-year-old, who has scored 17 goals in 31 league appearances this season, plays his club football for Mexican side Jaguares.
And he has attracted interest on Merseyside as well as other top European clubs, including Porto.
On the Red's radar: Liverpool are keen on Jackson Martinez
Liverpool hope to snap up the striker for around £4million after scouts have watched him on a number of occasions.
Martinez told Colombian newspaper Nuevo Estadio: 'I am not in any advanced negotiations with Liverpool or Porto but I know they are personally interested.

'I have not spoken to anyone and that goes for my club and my agent.

'In the next few months thinks should be finalised.'

Is this guy any good? He seems to have been linked with us and Porto for the past year, but i've never seen him play

RedSG

I assume we will let Porto purchase him, Then bid 30M the season after.

17 Apr 2012 08:30:56
Have united signed Gaitán ? {Ed002's Note - Not yet.}

17 Apr 2012 06:58:25
Hey ed, is there serious interest in lazar markovic and kevin strootman?
Indian Buzzer {Ed002's Note - Lazar Markovic is a young Serbian footballer who has attracted the attention of Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen and Espanyol. A move in the summer is possible but Partizan Belgrade may price him out of the market. Manchester United are looking at Kevin Strootman who has previously been watched by Liverpool but PSV may look not to sell just yet. I would expect plenty of interest if he does become available.}

Hi eds, Sebastian Larsson has had 2 fantastic seasons in a row now. I believe he is ready to be in one of the top teams and I believe he has exactly what we need. Someone who will stick on the wing, has a lot of energy, can take someone on and has great crossing ability. He'd be a great right winger purchase in my opinion. What do you think?

BthekingB

He was available on a free last season and no-one wanted anything to do with him if I remember rightly, hence why he went to Sunderland.

TSP

I'm sure we looked at him last year and didn't follow up on it. i too think he would be a great signing. downing and larsson to carroll = goals.

He's the Charlie Adam of this year

I'm pretty stoked at hearing from the usually reliable Macca that we are interested in signing munian and soldado. Two incredible signings that would push us right into the top four. Given that our defense (Johnson skrtyl agger Enrique) is usually very solid, there is one more addition to the midfield which I think would make us a force... Yann m'villa. Ed what's the score with him? I know arsenal are interested in him according to all the papers, but if he's available this summer, why aren't we busting to sign him! Cheers lad, pleasure as always! {Ed002's Note - There is no interest in him.}

17 Apr 2012 01:58:03
I agree mate. Banega is a brilliant player. Martinez is also fantastic. However, according to the eds one is to expensive and one isn't available. Ed is there any interest in yann mvilla? I think he could be superb in our midfield. {Ed002's Note - None from Liverpool. Inter Milan, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus have all shown a determined interest in M'Vila and perhaps PSG will become interested as well.}

'AS Roma are attempting to drive down the asking price for Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago.

Gago has been outstanding on-loan at Roma this season.

The Giallorossi paid €1 million for the season-long deal and agreed an option to make it permanent for €6 million.

However, TMW says Roma are now attempting to renegotiate the price and are insisting they won't go higher than €3.7 million.'

Sorry for the cut and paste Eds, but if the numbers are even vagely right this sounds a bargain for someone, even if it means fairly chunky wages. I'd hate to see us possibly missout to say Newcastle if they decide to cash in on Chek Tiote. Any interest do you think from LFC? JimK {Ed001's Note - I have not heard of any recent interest in him, but his wages would rule out Newcastle anyway, they do not pay big wages any more either.}

Wow Roma are such cheapskates what is it with these Italian sides not paying the amount that they previously agreed on?

They didn't seem to have a problem spending money on Lamela, Pjanic, Jose Angel, Krkic and Osvaldo.

I heard from a good friend that some soldado guy is one of our main targets. I think he is pretty good. What do you guys thnk of him.

Your good friend is called macca

So 'Some Soldado Guy' followed by you think he is pretty good.

If you've watched him at least a couple of time to know that he is pretty good then he wouldnt just be 'Some Soldado Guy' now would he?

I dident know who he was then I watched videos on him that's why I said he was good.

Ummmmm! what the same Soldado guy that this website has been going crazy about for the last week or so?

Your friend is so in the know!

You watched a few videos? If i watched a hundred tap ins by darren bent would that tell me much about his game other then he scores? No

I hope we get he's brill

I bet you he will say muniain is another one of our targets

Soldado is a quality Spanish finisher with great technical ability, although I think he'd cost £30m+ and unfortunately not want to come to us.
